We've dined here multiple times and have always had good food. For this visit I was in the mood for some tapas. I had tortilla, a nice big slice, a cod croqueta, a bit too salty but was pretty good and some delicious mussels in olive oil with tons of garlic. I had a really good slice of cake for dessert with a cream filling and burnt sugar top. The service could've been a little better, our waitress was not the friendliest and also disappeared for some time. It was a Sunday and the place was pretty full and very loud. The store has really good Spanish items but the prices are very expensive.

I absolutely adored eating dinner at this restaurant! The service was solid and the food was massive portions of deliciousness! If the ambiance hadn't been a strip mall I would have easily given them five stars! I've been to Spain many times and this place is legitimately great!

Went to Brisas de España on a Saturday afternoon. To say it was a disappointing meal is a heck of an understatement: cazuela de mariscos mixta had two shrimps, and the rest was water and calamari; it was tasteless as it could be, and at $25.00, it was highway robbery. The Ensaladilla Rusa at $15.00 was enough for about three spoonfuls. I swear I have never been to a restaurant that professes to be from España and charge $2.00 for bread. And to complete the afternoon, if you pay with credit card, there's a 3.5% added to the bill. They had a paella cooking at a corner of the restaurant and the server never bother to tell us about that being a special for the day. As I mentioned, this was very disappointing. And having visited España many times, this restaurant does not even come close to doing justice to their name.

The food was to salty , we order enchilado de camarones was so salty that you can't eat. The fish lumina fish was fool of fishbone that the chef of the kitchen job to cleaning before serving to the customers The service was excellent no complain , one of my friends order stake and they over charge for the plate $20.00 more , but the manager take care of mistake . Recommend check your bill before pay your the waiters. The ambiance was good nice people around two persons playing guitar and a woman dancing on top of a peace of wood floor . This is the first time I see that ,,, the only table can see the woman dancing was three tables in front of the peace of wood floor the rest of the people can listen,,, you can see my picture Good luck

Order some tapas. The were no that great. Service bad. Won't come back expensive$89 for 4 tapas. Croquet, ham plate, tortilla de papas, ensalada rusa and 2 sangria. Music guy decide to play when we were leaving.

    Paella Valenciana

i love this place. The food, ambiance, and service are always spot on. I am also a fan of the paella. I recently hosted our office Holiday party at my home, so I came in to order a paella. Juan Carlos took the time to listen and capture the experience I wanted to create for my team. I orderer a paella Valenciana, tortilla española, and Dobosh torte for dessert for 12 people. I also got a whole jamon Serrano shoulder and had everything delivered the night of the party. The paella was served in a traditional paellera, the tortilla was perfectly cooked annd beautifully presented. The ham came with a platform and special knife for slicing perfect thin slices. Last but not least, the dessert was a work of art. And you may ask, What about the flavor? Everything was delicious and tasty. Whether it's a lunch or dinner, evening with friends or a party at home, I highly recommend Brisa de España in Doral.

So after a yelp review of the tapas scene, I landed at Bulla Gastrobar in Coral Gables. A slight drive from the downtown area but proved to be so worth it. Once we arrived we were seated immediately and greeted by our beautiful, friendly and knowledgeable server Melody. After she explained the menu and made recommendations, she offered to course our plates out accordingly so it wouldn't arrive all at once. Five stars to Melody for taking great care of us. Now to the food... We started things off with the pan con tomate with Serrano Ham and manchego cheese. Although this is a staple of tapas dining in Spain I had never tried it and was impressed with the depth of flavor and the different notes that it offered. It was excellent and I highly recommend it. Next was the gambas al ajillo which are broiled shrimp in a garlicky pepper butter sauce. These were also excellent, so much so we ordered another batch, Then we tried the Albondigas which were Pork and beef meatballs, with manchego, tomate sauce. These were good but proved to be our least favorite of everything we tried. Next was the datiles rellenos which were bacon wrapped dates with a small salad. These were very good Lastly we ordered the Serrano ham croquettes which came with a wonderful fig jam. These proved to steal the show. Hands down 5 stars! Because it was happy hour until 7pm, I got a Spanish beer (Mahou) and a wonderful glass of Malbec for $6 each. The total bill for all this before tip was $112 which was well worth it for an extraordinary meal with great variety. I highly recommend this restaurant!

I saw him about 10 years ago, and last Friday we went to Desafinado, sitting at table #17. The view wasn't great at first because the party in front of us were tall fellas, but a small miracle happened: a couple in the front row traded tables with us, not wanting to be so close! So, the first "obstacle" was solved. The concert took a while to start; we arrived around 10:30 pm, and by midnight, there was still no sign of Amaury. But once it began, it was magical. His music sounded amazing, and the sound quality at Desafinado was impressive. Plus, there were some great surprise guests, like the amazing Luis Enrique and five others (I can't remember all their names, but they were all fantastic). The only downside was that no one ever came by to take our order. Since we'd just come from Fleming's Steakhouse and were super full, it wasn't a huge issue, not enough to cost them a star. The next day, we spent the whole day playing Amaury Gutierrez's music at home! Desafinado is a great place to experience a close, personal, and intimate concert with Latin romantic artists. Good atmosphere, great sound, easy parking, but questionable service.

Staff Makes us feel they are glad we came-What a cool place! We settle on the brisket, baby back ribs, potato salad and beans with brisket. Can I tell you EvErYtHiNg was spot on!! And we plan accordingly to try their famous 12 hour smoked Flan dessert!! 1. Smoked Brisket- moist, perfect flavor, hearty portion, tender and high quality meat. Comes with great sauce, which I didn't use since it was so perfect as is. 2. Smoked Baby Back Ribs- Another hit with healthy portion, great flavor, and super meaty. Honestly, just hard to stop eating it! 3. Baked Beans with Brisket- A true meal unto itself! I could've stopped here! Tons of brisket ground into the beans, almost like the best "chili" ever. Flavor is sophisticated smokiness, not the usual sugary sweet restaurant rendition. Yay! 4. Potato salad is FIRE! Fresh perfectly cooked tender white potatoes, cooked carrots & peas add just enough interest and a magical a touch of mayo. Yes please. 5. 12 hour smoked Flan-STAR * of the show, the flan of my dreams! Staff insisted this flan is all that and they are correct! It's LEGIT. We left with a doggie bag, so worth it. Price was for real, you pay for quality. $74, but we brought plenty home. You could get by with a meal for two around $50-60, if you need. Smoke & Dough... I Went Looking for BBQ... and Found One of the Best Pastrami Sandwiches in South…read moreFlorida Back in my day, going out for BBQ wasn't something you did every weekend. It was a special occasion. If you grew up in Miami, you probably remember The New Hickory on Coral Way. Then there was Uncle Tom's on 8th Street. Great food... but let's be honest... everybody was just a little nervous eating there because it was right next to the cemetery. You'd be halfway through your ribs thinking... "¿Tú crees que ese ruido vino del parking... o del cementerio? Later on we graduated to Luther's on Bird Road and 117th Avenue, and of course, Shorty's, the undisputed king that's been feeding hungry Miamians for generations. These days it seems like a new BBQ place opens every other week in South Florida. I recently tried one of the newer spots in South Miami... except when we got there they were out of half the menu. Nothing kills your BBQ excitement faster than hearing, "Sorry... we're out of brisket." That's like walking into Versailles and hearing they're out of croquetas. So when our friends Ana and Henry invited Betty and me to Smoke & Dough in Kendall, I was ready to get my BBQ on. We walked into this unassuming strip mall, I grabbed the menu, ready to order ribs or brisket... ...and then I saw it. The Pastrami Sandwich. Now THAT got my attention. Finding a really good pastrami sandwich down here isn't easy. Roasters 'N Toasters has a very good one. Lox of Bagels (what many of us still call Lox of Lox) makes a solid one too. But this one... This one beat them both by a mile. The meat was warm, juicy, incredibly flavorful, the cheese perfectly melted, the Thousand Island dressing was just the right amount, and the bread held everything together without falling apart after the second bite... a miracle in itself. And it wasn't one of those fancy little sandwiches you need a magnifying glass to find on the plate. This thing was substantial. I shared it with my wife... ...and I was full. ¡Y yo soy tremendo comelón! Our friends ordered the brisket empanadas, a quiche, and brisket sandwiches that looked absolutely outstanding. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked like somebody back there really cared about what they were serving. The atmosphere surprised me. Instead of feeling like an old-school BBQ joint with picnic tables and sauce bottles everywhere, it feels more like a cozy neighborhood bistro that just happens to know its way around a smoker. Comfortable, relaxed, and the kind of place where nobody is rushing you out the door because another party is waiting. They also have what looked like an excellent selection of wines and craft beers, which gives the place a slightly elevated feel without being pretentious. Now... everybody has been telling me about their famous **Smoked Flan Apparently it's slowly cooked on the barbecue pit for about five hours, giving the creamy custard and caramel a subtle smoky flavor. Believe me... I wanted to try it. But after that pastrami... Game over. There wasn't enough room left. The owners came over, introduced themselves, shared a little of the history behind Smoke & Dough, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Those little moments still matter. You leave feeling like they appreciate your business instead of treating you like the next number in line. Overall, we had a wonderful time. Good food. Great company. Friendly owners. A relaxed atmosphere where you actually want to stay awhile. After our last dining experience at another restaurant where we practically felt like they were timing us with a stopwatch, this was a refreshing change. Will I be back? Absolutely. Not just for the BBQ... I'm coming back to see if that smoked flan lives up to the hype. And maybe... Just maybe... I'll order ,another pastrami sandwich.
