Big restaurant, nice looking. Big menu. Waitstaff very nice and pleasant, but nobody speaks a lot of English. That's ok, the menu is in both Spanish and English so just point at what you want. We got chicken croquettes, chicken with garlic cream sauce, and pulled chicken with onions. All totally delicious. We got white rice and fried plantains. Yummy. All great. Totally reasonable price. Worth the trip. Will be back.

I had nice server named Lucelly N. I love the food and ambience of the restaurant. I had to order some Ham Croquettes to go because they are the best in Miami. I am looking forward to my leftovers. I love the authentic Cuban food.

Islas Canarias is a Miami staple. I prefer Islas Canaria's to many other Cuban spots. I especially love to order coffee at Islas Canarias. I've spoken to some people that say that the best croquettas are from Islas Canarias. A casual spot. Great service .

Every time I'm in Miami I must get a guava pastry and Cuban coffee. Islas Canarias was the closest Cuban restaurant to where I was staying so I took a walk and made my way over. The place was pretty busy on a Thursday morning around 9 am. We went straight to the coffee counter to order some bevies and grab some pastries. While we didn't try items from the regular menu everything looked delicious. The women behind the counter were really sweet and brought over our coffee at a table once they were done. And then right before we left another server brought us over lollipops and thanked us for stopping in. Great service and even better Cuban coffee.

This place is the true definition of consistency. Their croquettes are amazing--never a disappointment! I tried the squash soup, which was okay; I should've stuck with the malanga soup, but I still enjoyed it. My husband had Italian liver and my mom stuffed peppers both really good too. When I say consistency, I really mean it. It had been about 10 years since I last dined inside, and I walked out thinking, this is exactly why this place has been open for so many years. The service was top-notch--one server brought the food, another cleared the table, and they constantly checked in to make sure we were okay. The food came out fast--really fast . The ambiance was okay overall.

We came yesterday for dinner as my niece came into town and wanted croquetas. We ordered croquetas as an appetizers and as always they were delicious. To eat, I tried the vaca frita with moro and fufu de plátanos con chicharrones. Everything was delicious. My niece ordered the croqueta preparada, which she loved. I loving coming here to eat delicious food for a decent price.

Food was amazing the service wasn't the best and the ambience very family friendly. The shrimps in garlic with white rice and tostones were delicious. Can't wait to come back for more. La comida era increíble, el servicio no era el mejor y el ambiente era muy familiar. Los camarones en ajo con arroz blanco y tostones estaban deliciosos. No puedo esperar a volver por más.

I never thought I would say this but the food (and the croquetas) are not good here anymore. I am especially disappointed in the croquetas... there used to be so much more ham and flavor. They were served not even warm and were very doughy instead of having that healthy pink ham color. The Islas Canarias "best of Miami" days are over. It's the end of an era. Service was terrible, food didn't come out warm or hot. The beans were almost cold. So sad. I grew up on this food and it's gone downhill. I'm so sad to say that I will probably never go back.

After a long day of shopping at Home Depot. We wanted some delicious Cuban comfort and hospitality. It's been a while since I have dinner at Islas Canarias. I usually pick up my favorite dishes or order. We had a great time and were treated like family. At the end of the night, we took home frozen croquetas so we can continue enjoying on our own over the next few days.

This might have been on of the worst steak experiences I've had in my life, the steak was not only rubbery, it was also salty, overly salty, it tasted more like salami then what it was supposed to be. The restaurant looked great, the service was eh, we had some issues with the plating and utensils, the problem was just the food.. even the croquettes were cold in the middle.

This place is a classic staple in Miami. If you grew up here you know about isla canarias. My mom asked me to go here since we were in the area. She always goes to La carreta but today she wanted to switch it up. So we had breakfast here at Islas and we were glad we did. We were sat immediately. You can tell that there are regulars who come here. It wasn't crazy full but it had its fair number of people there. It was during the week too. I suspect that weekends it's ridiculous. We ordered classic breakfasts. Didn't even finish them all but it was absolutely delicious. The food came out super quick. We were in and out in less than 40 minutes. We were able to order eat chill chat and leave. It was great. Definitely picking this place over La carreta!

Stopped here for brunch between doctor appointments. Upon arrival I was seated quickly and given a menu. The ambiance was lively, the server friendly, the food good and the price was surprisingly low.

Churros (2 orders) $10 plus for this??

Until what time is breakfast served?

All day!

Did you change the recipe for the ham croquetas? I purchased 30 this Saturday and they did not taste like what I have eaten at your restaurant a few months back.?

I confirmed and they changed the ham recipe. Not what they used to be

What day is tamal en cazuela made?

Miércoles y viernes

Would you please rate their black beans from 1 (eorst to 5 (the best of the best)? Thanks.

Easiest 5 rating of my life. You'll eat them and immediately crave them for your next meal, but your mouth won't truly remember the flavor until you have them again.

Absolutely not worth it! The strawberry was pretty good. They were able to substitute the milk for coconut milk. They weren't able to substitute the foam for non dairy foam, so we got no foam. The tiramisu matcha was terrible. It tastes NOTHING like tiramisu. All they needed to do was make the mascarpone sweeter and thicker, and use sweetened condensed milk mix for the milk then soak the lady finger in espresso or sprinkle espresso on top. I was so disappointed it tasted like snot in a glass with matcha on top to me. The manager was very nice, she asked me if I liked it and I was honest with her she replaced my drink with a strawberry matcha. They took forever getting my strawberry matcha to me, it was getting busy but our server never came back to our table to give me my new drink. He was awful. The ambiance was decent, the table will ruin your clothes. The cocking glue melted off onto my partners pants. Sit inside if you can!

I knew when I saw the 4.3 Yelp rating and hundreds of great reviews, this was the place !! And it…read moresure lived up to its expectations... actually, it surpassed them! The hardest part about dining here was deciding what I wanted to order. I could have ordered the entire menu it looked so good! Helpful tip... check out the menu and know what you're going to order before you get in line. Otherwise you're going to be pressured to order at the front of the line. When you walk in, you place your order and pay for it and take a table number. You need to find your own table. Our service was pretty quick, despite how busy the restaurant was. My cold brew was very good and a nice start to the meal. Our guacamole came next and it was nicely styled with pomegranate, cheese and cilantro on top. Yum! The real star of the show for me was this unassuming looking House Club Sandwich that was to die for. Seriously ... it was so good. I ordered mine without the ham, and it was divine! I wish i lived closer. I'm already dreaming of coming back. My son ordered some kind of short rib/beef burrito and it disappeared so quickly I didn't even get to snap a photo. This is a perfect spot to enjoy a great meal, I highly recommend it. One thing I can say is that it's on the pricey side. $113 lunch for 2 added up super fast but it was well worth it. I'll be dreaming of that sandwich til my next visit!

On top of the food being bad, it was incredibly expensive too. They also automatically add tip. I ordered the quesadilla, and there is an option to add mushrooms/onions on the menu. Online it shows the quesadilla is $13, when I ordered it was $14 + 2.50 for onions and tomatoes (which ended up coming on the side). Also, when I asked to order that, the waitress was a bit rude. So I ended up paying $17.82 for a terrible quesadilla and experience. I really liked the horchata matcha though (hence the 2 stars).
