    Vaca Frita Tostones

After seeing this restaurant pop up on all the must eat lists over the years I can't believe it's taken me so long to visit! We came on a Friday to celebrate a birthday and were seated in the outdoor patio. From the outside you would never even know this little oasis existed! If you have a choice definitely choose the patio! It's such a nice vibe with string lights and graffiti art. We decided to split the goat cheese croquettes and vaca frita tostones as apps. I'm a goat cheese girl so these were right up my alley and the guava sauce was delicious. The vaca frita tostones were so savory and with a really generous portion of vaca frita. For dinner I ordered the mahi which was absolutely delicious. The came with a coconut sauce that was so good and paired perfectly with the rice and salad. We also ordered the Masa de Puerco Chino with Shrimp. This dish was soooo good! It had it all, a little salty from the pork and sweetness from the sauce and shrimp. We also ordered a flan which was the perfect ending. For drinks we got mojitos and margaritas and all were so well made. And our server was awesome. He gave us great recommendations and was so attentive to us. We had such a great time! Definitely going to be coming back.

Update... came back years later and it's even better! Drinks are amazing! The coconut mojito is super delicious and just like those I had in Puerto Rico! Also sampled the croquetas ... the chorizo croquets is super tasty and the cheese is delicious. Very happy with service. And the outdoor garden is fantastic for large groups and families.

Situated in Little Havana, Doce Provisions sits hidden next to a barber shop. Once inside, you find yourself welcomed by a lively staff. We had the option to sit inside or out back. The food was phenomenal. Made to perfection, it is some of the best Cuban food I've ever had. The empanadas are out of this world, the authentic Cuban beer was perfect to go with our food choices. And, the arroz imperial (imperial rice), is probably the best I've ever had. The tres leches was so good, I forgot to take a pic of it. Well worth the visit and definitely well worth a return trip. Dove provisions is a hidden gem.

The atmosphere is very inviting. There is both indoor and outdoor dining with wait staff who are very professional and friendly. The food is AMAZING! Everything using is cooked to perfection and the layers of flavors build upon each other. Doce P provides a totally joyful dining experience.

Very very delicious spot! Our waiter new the menu back and forth and gave us all his recommendations, which were spot on Food: 1. Burrata toast- A nice slab of toast with Mango Jam, Baby Tomato, and Lime Vinaigrette that paired very nicely with the cheese 2.Fresh Florida Mahi- a delicious piece of fish paired with Coconut Aji Cream, Mint, Sweet Peppers, Jasmine Rice and fried maduros on the bottom. The rice soaked up all of the sauce! Chefs kiss 3. Masa de Puerco Chino- crispy pork with pineapple confit, maduros, and fried rice. Absolutely delicious Would absolutely return to try out the rest of the menu

My friend made a reservation for a birthday. We sat in the back patio which was adorable with twinkle lights and trees and music. We ordered some goat cheese croquetas for the table and the cuban mojito pitcher to share. Both were amazing and we got another pitcher even. My friend loves the mahi there and was super excited to get it. They were out of truffle so couldnt do the mac or fries. I got the arroz imperial cubano with avocado, which was unreal! Amazing flavor and filling! The chicken and waffles was lacking something and not as good as was recommended. The mahi didnt disappoint. We were able to bring our own cake which they brought out with the candles we provided. Overall a small menu but the food and drinks were great! I will definitely bring people visiting me here. Can't wait to eat my leftovers!

This might be my new favorite spot in Miami !!! Cannot express how lovely this dining experience was from start to finish. Walked in on a Friday night without a reservation and was seated almost immediately. We had Ruben take care of us and he was so attentive with food recommendations and great service. I was shocked at how quickly all of the food came out, and the quality was EXCELLENT. Super creative Cuban cuisine and there was not a single dish I wouldn't order again. My favorites if I had to pick would be the Vaca Frita Tostones & Birria Quesatacos. Doce has both outdoor patio and indoor dining space, and I loved the intimate vibe. Will DEFINITELY be returning and bringing anyone here to visit Miami!

Found to this place on a whim when the place we were planning on eating at was closed. We got there right before they closed for the break between lunch and dinner and they were happy to seat a party of 5. The group ordered an app, 2 meat platters, the rice, the ropa vieja and chicken and waffles. The app came quickly, but we waited a bit for the rest of the food. We never got one of our meat platters, and ended up just taking it to go... turns out we ordered more than enough food for 5 people. Truly, all the food was delicious. The meat was tender, everything was tasty and fresh, but the cheesey, chicken rice in a skillet was everyone's favorite. The leftovers were equally as delicious. This place is a really great find, and off the beaten (and crazy) path of Calle Ocho, so skip all those insane lines and enjoy a yummy, Cuban meal here instead.

Gorgeous hidden patio area makes outdoor dining a breeze. Loved the ambiance and the outdoor mural. The food was super rich- the chorizo croquettes were salty and heavy, I wish they came with more sauce to cut through and lighten the bite. But really interesting flavor. My partner had a chicken rice (arroz imperial) dish that was flavorful but I wish it was slightly more aesthetic than just a blob of cheese on top. The passion fruit mojito was the perfect drink super light and refreshing! Space was awesome, food was decent but overpriced for what it was which is standard meats, rice, cheese, chicken. Think we spent a little over $70 on a light dinner.

Had lunch at Doce yesterday and it was really good! Small un assuming with friendly servers and yummy food! We shared and it worked out great! Po' boy shrimp tacos were delicious, And the chicken arroz imperial was super yummy- and award winning chorizo croquettes -were So so. Not bad but not to my personal taste. I wish we had ordered the cheese type instead. Overall, high marks, easy parking, good food and service.

My fave spot in the neighborhood, staff is always friendly and food always hits!! Sitting in their back terrace is the way to go, so cozy and relaxing. Really missing their birria tacos!! Till this day they were the best I had ever had!

Delicious restaurant off the tourist path in Miami. Inside is small but the back garden is large and relaxing. The food is innovative but has the classic Cuban flavors you want from Little Havana. Service was slow but food came out fast. Waiters are super nice and helpful with recommendations though!

    Coconut Lime Daiquiri

Holy crap! This is some food worth crying over!! Goat cheese croquettes, and Abuelas ropa vieja, are absolutely fabulous!! The coconut lime daiquiri is next level delicious!! If I lived in Miami I'd be here weekly. Phenomenal! I can't say enough good things!!! Perhaps they would consider opening a location in Dallas Texas?!?!?! Oh and, all the beautiful Cuban waiters are a MASSIVE PLUS!!

The interior is crisp and clean and bright. Definitely a standard I'd expect from HK. I had a lunch special which included app, entree and dessert. Everything was delicious. The salad was so good. While we enjoyed the overall experience, several service and execution issues took away from what should have been a special evening. Drink service was slow throughout the meal, and one guest didn't receive a refill until dinner was nearly finished. We were also told a birthday glass of wine would be complimentary, but it still appeared on the final bill. For the food, we ordered garlic butter for our steaks but received large portions of cold butter that hadn't melted. We also weren't informed that the filet already included garlic butter. The prawn appetizer had an off flavor, and one of the three filets was overwhelmingly peppery while the other two were properly seasoned. We ordered two bottles of wine and, due to limited tableside attention, often found ourselves refilling our own glasses throughout the evening. Overall, the food was enjoyable and we appreciated the opportunity to celebrate here. However, for a restaurant at this price point, the service and attention to detail should be much stronger. We traveled four hours for this experience and hope these issues were simply the result of an off night.

To start, we shared the cornbread, and wow--it was absolutely delicious. I would order it again in a heartbeat. For our entrees, my husband got the catfish and grits, which he loved, and I ordered the fried chicken with cornbread waffles. It was SO good. Seriously, I can't stop thinking about it. We shared collared greens on the side and they also were amazing- they were so flavorful! I really can't choose a favorite dish. I would order exactly the same way next time (even if it was too much food ). The atmosphere was also fantastic. The restaurant feels trendy and stylish without trying too hard, and everything is done very tastefully. They also have an outdoor dining area, which we didn't use this time, but it's nice to know it's there for good weather days. My only two very minor complaints: I wish the cornbread came with a little more butter--it was just a tiny smear, so next time I'll ask for extra; And I wish they offered a hotter hot sauce option for those of us who like a bit more spice. Overall, I highly recommend this place. Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere, and I'll absolutely be back.

Relaxed, elclectic atmosphere, super friendly service, and food that had us questioning how tf we hadn't come here yet. Here's what we ordered: * Cornbread * Deviled eggs * Mac and cheez * Smoked Chop * Lobster Bucatini Everything hit. The cornbread was incredible, the deviled eggs (our fav) disappeared in record time, and that mac and cheez was comfort-food perfection. The smoked chop my hubs ordered was slightly overcooked, but he still enjoyed it. My Lobster Bucatini was an unexpected win. Rich, light, but so so flavorful. Sadly, we tapped out before dessert, but honestly, every single thing we had delivered. Left stuffed, happy, and already talking about when we'd be back.

I quietly stopped going for a while. But a friend convinced me to give it another shot and honestly? Really glad I did. It feels like it's back to what it does best -- a laid-back cocktail bar with really solid food. The drinks were well-made, the burger was awesome, the chicken parm sando was legit, and I got a kick out of seeing Miami Slice pizza by the slice on the menu. Service was fantastic too -- friendly, attentive, always checking in without hovering. One honest piece of feedback: the prices are still a little steep for the neighborhood. This is Coral Way -- a real, working-class Miami community -- not South Beach or Brickell. Hard to be a regular here at these prices. I first fell in love with the Gibson room because it had old-timey speakeasy vibes with its moody lighting, close knit two-seater tables and best of all LIVE JAZZ. The decor was eclectically classic, I had admired this lovely framed Murillo art print. Where did it go?! Wish they had a sale of all their nice things--I would have kept that print as a memento. BUT Now.... The cozy tables have been replaced by only high tops (to pack in more rabble). The delicious and creative gourmet food has been replaced by bar bites and pizza. No more jazz. No more speakeasy vibes. It's become a run of the mill Miami bar. One of many. Nothing unique or special. Now don't get me wrong, the pizza is delicious and thankfully the bar tending is the same quality. BUT the old vibes are gone. It's just another place like so many others The WORSE of it is: we felt like we were surrounded by pirañas. We had a high top table since we got there at a good time. Ordered our drinks and pizza. Then it filled up and no tables so people hung around near us to "claim" our table as soon as we left. The woman even had the audacity to ask (while I was STILL eating my pizza): "you're almost done right? You're leaving soon, right? You can give me your table." It made the experience so unpleasant by such unclassy behavior by patrons. They all did similar things to those trying to enjoy their bar bites. Desperate for tables and acting like fools to get one. Needless to say, I won't be coming back now that the atmosphere and clientele had changed dramatically. RIP old Gibson. (PS showing photos of the OG space)
