We came for lunch on a Thursday and they were decently busy. Their staff is very courteous and so great when helping us understand the menu. My favorite dish was the Socarrat Chicken. The chicken was so tender and savory on a bed of caramelized rice. Truly an unique dish. Paired with the plantains on the side, it was just exquisite. The chicken was popular and there was a large rotisserie churning them out. We chose the amarillo sauce per the servers recommendation. Included were two sides with the chicken order. We tried fries, vegetables, cole slaw, and plantaines. And each had a chicken order which could be a whole, half or quarter chicken and chosen as white or dark meat for the quarter size. Last night We got takeout ordered the rotisserie chicken, which was really moist and tender. I couldn't decide on a mojo, so we ended up getting the sampler for an extra $5 I feel like the portions were pretty small for the upcharge, but if you're indecisive or want to try them all, it kind of makes sense. For sides, we got boiled yuca which was unfortunately on the harder side (usually it's way softer), and the plántanos with cheese only came with four pieces, which felt a bit skimpy and definitely not enough to satisfy a plantano craving. A nice restaurant bustled right next to Brickell. If you are a carnivore this is the place for you! If you're a vegetarian... maybe not. Meat is their speciality here at Dando La Brasa and it's very cool to be able to see the chefs hard at work over an open grill. As a plant forward eater I found it a little hard to find a good plate for me. I ended up ordering the chicken fettuccini and it was very underwhelming. Very little actual sauce and not a lot of flavor to it. It also came with a small soup as I believe all the lunch specials do and the soup was just a light broth. I think if I come back I will ask for tequeños or some yucca. Still the lunch menu was plentiful and the restaurant was packed so this place is definitely worth checking out for any meat lovers. read more

After an intense day at the gym (90 minute class), errands & fasting I was a) completely starved and b) not feeling like heading out for nightlife & valet parking. I just wanted somewhere quiet to grab dinner and come back home to recharge #latestagegenerationx I had seen the "Coming Soon" signage for this restaurant and decided to check it out. Located in the heart of The Roads (aka where Coral Way is SW 3rd Avenue), Dando La Brasa even has a parking lot. The inside decor is a nice mix of wood accents; exposed concrete & landscaping along with an open kitchen. The music is downtempo jazz and the lighting is dim. The vibe works for either a date or solo dining. My waiter was super helpful in recommendations on the dishes and sauces (kudos for getting me an extra sauce sample for my chicken!) Speaking of the chicken, their headline is a Venezuelan and Peruvian style rotisserie chicken. Although the olive oil, lime juice, garlic and spices au jus of the chicken make it delicious on its own, I enjoyed it with both the Peruvian style ají amarillo sauce (it has nice kick) and the sweeter guava sauce. The sweet plantains sprinkled with cheese and Caramelized with a sugar sprinkling and black bean soup were great sides. Given my workout I was loathe to have dessert but in the end indulged their rich Nutella sweet pot and cup of espresso. It's definitely a great place for a solid and tasty dinner before continuing with your evening. read more

I ordered 1/2 chicken with yuca fries and maduros, fish aji amarillo ceviche, tequeños and short rib soup. I have to say everything tasted pretty good. Chicken was very tasty with your choice of mojo flavor. Yuca fries were a little dry but a good portion. Short rib soup was very good. It is a good option for when you feel under the weather. A nice broth with yams, corn and a piece of meat. The only compliant is that they forgot to give me the side of rice and avocado that comes with it. That was disappointing but the soup was delicious. Everything was nicely packed. I'm glad there is another good place in town for brasa. Will give it another try soon. read more
