    Veggie papusa Passionfruit drink

Yummy latin american food! Checked into our hotel late at night and we were feindin for some mexican food so we took a walk over to this little joint. Great flavors, staff is friendly(some only speak spanish). Ordered a veggie papusa and a pork papusa and a steak empanada. All three were spot on. They are a little heavy so make sure you are hungry before you order! Also ordered a passionfruit drink which was fresh squeezed.

I absolutely loved it, we had Pupusas de Frijol con queso y Revueltas, and they were delicious! i also got a chicken soup and was pretty tasty, Horchata and Jamaica were refreshing and the service was amazing. i had to chance to talk to the owner's daughter if i'm not mistaken and she gave a little trip to the past with the story of the origins of their parents back in El Salvador. and it allowed me enjoy the ambiance way more and feel the culture through my food.

We love finding authentic places to try good food. This hit the spot. Of course, we wanted to try multiple things on the menu. We started with the corn tamale. It was sweet and soft. By adding the sour cream, it softened the sweetness, which was very nice. We also had an empanada. It was perfectly crisp but not greasy. Came with a vinegar based slaw. For the main dishes, we order the special plate which had beef, chicken, pork chop, shrimp and sausage. All of it was really good. Came with two sides. We picked fried cheese and black beans with rice. All of the meat was cooked perfectly. Not overdone. And they all tasted different. For dessert, we ordered the flan. Our server asked if we wanted the 'cheese' one. I didn't know a cheese flan existed so we tried it. It had more of a cheesecake consistency with a flan taste. Very nice and not heavy. You can tell this is a local hangout. Lots of people laughing at the bar, many to go orders. We appreciated that the server and manager both checked on us, since we were definitely trying new things. Overall, very good. Give it a try.

Pollo a la plancha, or chicken grilled on the flat top, with onions (hint of vinegar), and I choose mixed rice and beans and maduros.

I love this place. I'm a gringo from New York who owns a condo around the corner and, having visited this place before (alone and with my wife and son, 10), when checking on the apartment, I decided to move into the apartment so I'm not around for New York's collapse. In the past I've been happy with the pupusas, carne asada, and desserts. My son, I recall, loved his chicken Milanese with fries. Today I stopped in and had a flat-top grilled chicken breast from their early specials list, choosing mixed rice and beans and maduros as the two sides. Also, a Diet Coke and cafe con leche. All of it was great, just as you'd expect, with friendly service from Spanish-speaking ladies who are patient with non-Spanish speakers. I invested a lifetime in going to Latin American restaurants in the New York metro area and Texas and I enjoyed this place just fine. It's not fancy, but they have a happy hour and a gift shop so it's plenty of fun I'm sure. I'm coming back tomorrow and they'll think I'm nuts but for comida típica, I'll be here often.

The pupusas were greasy and they had very little filling inside however they were delicious! If I had no self control I could have easily eaten two or three more. They came with a cabbage slaw on the side that I believe you can either stuff the pupusas with it or you can put it on top along with a tomato based sauce that was also very good neither of which are spicy. I can say that ordering on a delivery app the food is a little more expensive, I think they're $3 if you pick up yourself. I also ordered a large tamarindo juice which was in a huge cup (32oz i think) . Show them some love get juice here and get pupusas totally worth it.

I must say this place is the worst. We order 2 breakfast and a pupusa. Unfortunately, the beans didn't taste well, in fact they tasted burnt and bitter. We called the restaurant and advise of the situation. They told us to come back to the restand they will redo, well the owner was offended because she cooked the beans. She proceeded to elevate her voice and advise that she wasn't going to re-do anything. She said she doesn't need to please any customer. Therefore she refunded my money and left it ay the table. Could not even be customer service oriented or professional. What a way to run a business.

3.5. One word: Pupusas! Come here for them. They are hard to come by. They are delicious! They are thick flatbreads from El Salvador prepared with cornmeal, similar to an arepa. They are stuffed with cheese, beans, pork, and or a mixture. Bean and cheese pupusa was my favorite. I also ordered the Special Plate. This came with strip steak, pork steak, grilled chicken, chorizo, and shrimp served with two sides, I chose fried cheese and tostones. Everything had good flavor. The fried cheese was delcious, but a tad bit too salty. The shrimp was fresh. Definitely visit for the pupusas.

Queen of takeout here again-Another Uber Eats option I tried for dinner. I ordered various items since this was my first time trying the place. My tasting included a bean and cheese papusa, beef empanada, mixed beans and rice not to be confused with Moro rice, and churros. The papusa was good and the empanada had great flavor but had a harder fry on it than I was used to. I'm not sure what I was expecting with the mixed rice and beans but it turned out to be okay. I was most disappointed with the churros. I was excited to order them but they were too chewy and didn't have that crisp you get when they are freshly cooked and fried to perfection. Overall the food was okay.

I would like to know what means "convenience fee" bc is the first time I see this, and when I asked about it, they didn't know neither, however the food was good!

Ordered two nights in a row. I was craving liver and onions and Cabanas didn't disappoint with their generous portions and quick delivery. Huge scoop of chicharron, with chunky bits of belly. The rice was spot on. At most place the rice will be the cheap filler to make up for skimpy protein portions, but not here. Generous and fairly priced.

"Revueltas" or "mixed/scrambled" which I ordered is a combo of beans, cheese and pork mixture which is blended and filled inside the pupusa. It's served with a type of cabbage salad and tomato sauce. How can something this simple hit this hard?…read more At Pupusa Time, I'm genuinely at a loss for words--and that doesn't happen often. The space? No frills. The menu? Straightforward. But the food? Completely out of this world. Let's talk pupusas. At their core, it's just a corn tortilla stuffed with cheese. That's it. And yet somehow, it delivers more satisfaction than dishes ten times as complicated. Yes, they offer the classics--beans, chicharrón, the revuelta--but don't overthink it. The roasted garlic (ajo asado) pupusa is the move. Full stop. My first visit lined up with the Artemis mission, and honestly, that feels appropriate. The cheese pull stretches like it's trying to reach the moon, and I'm not convinced that cheese was made on this planet. It's rich, perfectly melted, and borderline absurd in the best way. And then there's the curtido--that bright, tangy slaw that cuts through everything with just enough funk and crunch to keep you grounded... or maybe not. Because paired with that pupusa, you're floating. There are very few handheld foods on Earth that can compete with this. Make the trip. Order the roasted garlic. The masa was perfectly cooked--soft with just the right crisp on the outside--and the fillings were flavorful, melty, and comforting in that this tastes like someone's abuela made it kind of way. And let's talk about the supporting cast. The curtido? Crunchy, tangy, and refreshing. The salsa roja? Balanced, savory, and not shy about flavor. Add a little kick if you want--everything plays its role beautifully. Even the jalapeño made an appearance like, "I'm here if you're brave." This is the kind of spot where you don't need frills or fancy plating. You need good food, done right, and Pupusas Time nails it. Simple menu, big flavors, and portions that make you feel like you got hugged by your takeout bag.
