We went on a Sunday night for dinner service and were seated right away. There was an obnoxious customer listening to a video on his phone at max volume, but thankfully he left shortly after we arrived. I did think it was weird none of the staff asked him to turn it down even though everyone was visibly annoyed by him. Another strange thing is the menu didn't include the side options so you had to ask for that. The tables are definitely in need of a refresh, with visible peeling on them. The food itself was fairly good, I especially liked the yuca frita and the churrasco. The service was below average, our waiter only came to our table to take the order and give us the check. 18% is automatically added to your bill as a "service charge", which I didn't think was appropriate considering the lack of actual service we received. read more

The food was ok, it wasn't bad. The server however wasn't professional. We spoke in Spanish and she kept using the familiar "TU" right away which is kinda disrespectful. I'd appreciate it if she could use the more formal "usted" and then gradually go to the more familiar "TU". She acted like I knew her from her town in El Salvador and spoke to me like I was a neighbor she was asking for some sugar or salt. She also disappeared way too much. The table beside us was waving for her to come back and so were we. Oh and then they hit you with 18% gratuity for the marvelous service too. I was looking for a different place to have lunch and since being new to the area, I decided to stop here at this restaurant. The decor is nice and open and seems like a good spot. I ordered the lunch special carne assada which is a steak dinner which comes with 2 sides. I ordered it with rice and beans and a salad, to keep it light. It took them a few minutes before attending to me while I sat at the bar. The food came out and it was less than expected(portion wise) the rice and beans were a nice portion and ofcourse a salad. The flavor of the meat was good, the beans were good. It was a delightful meal. Paid my tab which included an extra cost for the salad. I guess the rice and beans are two sides?!! I also decided to get a coffee and expresso to go. The waiting made it and placed it in a cup carrier which was not needed. I went to grab the small cups out of the carrier since they weren't really holding on, and the top of the top was not placed on it properly. It spilled on the counter and ALL over me and my white shirt. It was so hot it burnt me through my tshirt that I had under my dress shirt. I was so upset. Not an apology but accidents happen right. Ok. They made another one for me but didn't even offer to give me the coffee or even pay for the drying cleaning bill on my clothes. I know, far fetched for them to do so. They seen that I was upset. Upon arrival we were met by a polite and pleasant waitress who took our drink order. The drinks took only a few minutes and the food took about 15 minutes to arrive at our table. Everyone in our group had the same dish, the Huevos Rancheros/Ranch Style Eggs Special Breakfast (the special comes with carne asada). The breakfast includes sausage, carne asada, cream, cuajada (Central American soft cheese) refried beans, and cabbage salad with onion and tomatoes. Accompanied by warm tortillas (1 per breakfast, can order additional if desired) and a plate of plantains (2 pieces per breakfast). I also had the fresh squeezed orange juice and others in the table had American coffee or cafe con leche. Breakfast here is always delicious and well proportioned. The tortillas were warm, the meat was tender and flavorful, and the eggs were well cooked with soft centers. In summary, the service was great, the staff was polite and attentive and the food here never disappoints. It is a great spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner at a great price. One of the few places in the area with ample free parking and a free standing building. The place was recently remodeled, a very nice dining room along with outdoor dining as well. The staff were all friendly and smiling: The prices were reasonable and nice sized portions as well. They have a nice menu with multiple options and a large drink menu as well. In addition to being friendly the service was fast and food was good. They didn't honor the yelp check in offer so ask before ordering it. We will definitely be back to try other options. This is the second time that I attend this restaurant. The first time the food was sequential and tasted good. Customer service was not 100 %, but the waitress was attentive and cordial. This time around the restaurant felt trap to the bad service. First in the restaurant business one must pay close attention to the customer. When instructions are given is for a reason and not for instructional purpose. The waitress even wrote down the information and still the food was non-sequential and the kitchen did not follow the instructions. If I would have been allergic to any item, that would have been catastrophic for the business. Not to mention that the food did not have the proper temperature and was missing items. Simple things like water fill up or refills on drinks as well as checking to make sure the customer is good are essential in the restaurant business. Finally, I do want to give credit to the other staff that was more attentive to our need, than our waitress. A rotal lacking customer service ability and hospitality. Please note that it has ice which is an important detail for what's to come. Approximately 10 to 12 minutes pased and my order still wasn't ready. I noticed they were given out other orders, and once they were done, a bag remained on the counter which got my attention. Is that part of my order? Which they replied yes, it's the tacos. I've been said, but they've been sitting there for about 10 minutes already. To which they replied, yes it's that the tacos are fried so it's really quick and the pupusas take more time. I said wait, but if the tacos are made so quick, shouldn't they have left them for last to avoid them sitting here over 10 minutes getting cold? They said oh no, it's that they make things in the order that they come in. Do you understand now? Wiat what ? Long story short I didn't get my entire order until approximately a total of 22 to 25 minutes, which is how long the Horchata was just sitting there about that time that the tacos were just sitting there. I have been to this establishment before and when I first arrived I had ordered their seafood soup however it was way too salty and decided to give it another chance today. We decided to order it once again but this time the soup was cold and on top of that some family members of the owner or well acquaintances arrived and they were given higher priority than the tables around them ( us included) we also ordered additional plates, another soup and a fried appetizer platter they had. However it was obvious that one of the items was over fried and burnt in some areas. As for the workers they kept forgetting to bring basic items such as forks, napkins and it took a while to get their attention. Unfortunately I don't plan on coming again, it was very chaotic and not worth the trouble for that type of treatment read more

We also ordered a tres leches and while it tasted good the texture of the cake was a bit off. My only critique comes down to service! We were greeted and served extremely fast. A little too fast, we received our appetizer at the same time as the meal and it goes without saying that soup is not ideal cold. It's a far drive for me so I don't see myself frequenting this place often. If you're in the area, check it out, you may or may not like it. The place has a cool look to it with its different murals, huge bar and big screen tv playing the whole menu. The staff is attentive and always give great customer service. The arroz with mariscos ( seafood rice ) also is one of my favorites the seafood is always fresh and gives my palette a run for its money. I'm a well known regular at this restaurant and I always go for the special breakfast with steak. Last night I stopped by for that and I tried their mantequilla this time and it tastes kinda old but I didn't think anything of it since I expect great service as a regular. This morning the stomach pain woke me up instead of my alarm. I'm not sure if it was the beans or mantequilla pero I'm not going back. My cousin who always joins me when I go also woke up to the same issue. Definitely food poisoning.
