My husband and I went to Foxes for the first time. The place is cozy with dim lighting and red upholstered booths. We ordered a couple of beers. Then two onion soups, which were really outstanding. Then we ordered the grilled cheese sandwich and the Reuben sandwich to try both. One with onion rings the other with fries. The Reuben was better than the grilled cheese. By then we were full and asked for the check. We were surprised to see a 20% tip automatically added to our check. It's not like we were a large party requiring a lot of attention. In fact, my husband had to wave the server down to get water a couple of times. We usually tip well, but I don't appreciate it being added to the check. Wow..this is a MUST try place. I used to go to the old Fox' Lounge. This is just like it but all cleaned up and better. The bartenders Cricket and Tiana are awesome. Super friendly and attentive. Thursday night is prime rib special which is amazing. I was advised to come in on Friday and get the shaved roast beef sandwich which is the left over prime rib, I'm sold on that one. Wednesdays special was a Double Smash burger with bacon jam and mushroom aioli. Got a side of crispy french fries. It was spectacular. I got to meet the chef Roxanna and thank her for the wonder food. The General Manager, Alex, was there and introduced himself as well. They all made me feel like I have been going there forever. I'm not sure what happened or who the new management is, but we were refused service because there weren't any seats available at the bar. Apparently, unless you are at a table or have a seat at the bar, you can't have a drink. Tables had "at least a 1 1/2 hours wait." This isn't some upscale restaurant. It's a bar. Serving bar food. After some searches Fox's lounge pops up as a speakeasy. I was expecting a speakeasy- one thing this place is not is a speakeasy. I looked around & I felt as if I had stepped into a time capsule where time stood still. The dim lighting and the dark wood paired with retro-like Christmas decor was something to process. We had reservations which truly make you feel like you're going to an uber-exclusive spot. The follow ups and confirmations are great for the urgency factor of getting into the speakeasy I thought we were going to hang at. Once I got over the initial feeling of being Punk'd upon learning this is NOT a speakeasy, we took our seat. Music starts at 10:30, unfortunately I wasn't able to stay, I was way too hungry and the food was not going to do it for me. The menu is typical barfood with nothing that really stands out. We went for the potato skins - way too greasy & are either old or they need to do something about the oil? Not sure but they were blah (I wish I had a better word for them). We tried the salad and that was also disappointing. Our server was a different story. In contrast to the menu Welby was animated - very kind, attentive & pretty prompt with everything. Sure, here's a Yelp review for Jordan: We had an extremely disappointing experience with Jordan as our server. She was incredibly unattentive to our table, providing horrible service. Despite walking by our table multiple times, she never checked on us once. We wanted a glass of wine and never was asked. NO REFILLS ON WATER! When we finally managed to get her attention, she claimed she was doing the best she could and that they were limited on staff, but this did not excuse her lack of attention to our needs. I would not recommend dining here AT ALL ever if you end up with Jordan as your server. They put 20 percent on our bill so to me she was aware that she was going to get her full gratuity. read more

We had several Old Fashioneds which were prepared perfectly. They've managed to keep a lot of the nostalgia of the original Fox's, from the music, to the bar, and decor. Prices are reasonable, atmosphere is laid back. We cannot wait to go back and try their food. They accept reservations on Resy so you may want to make one if you're going! read more
