I've been here twice to give them a second chance , but I have to say the meat is not the best quality. I ordered the lechón plate and it was not what I expected. Another time I ordered a bistec and the texture was very weird, almost lamb like, that's odd.

I brought my sister because she loves mofongo, and it seemed like the perfect place for us to check out together. We came fairly early, around 6 PM, so it wasn't crowded at all. The only downside was that the restaurant had a fragrance that was incredibly strong and honestly a bit overpowering. It kind of took away from the experience for me. They don't have outdoor seating, but I genuinely would have preferred sitting outside in the Miami heat over being inside with that scent. Food wise, it definitely delivered. I ordered the churrasco mofongo and it was delicious. The steak was flavorful and paired perfectly with the mofongo. We also got the fried chicken for my nephew, and it was so good. Crispy, juicy, and a huge hit with him. Service was good throughout our visit, and our food came out quickly. Overall, I'm glad to see them thriving in a larger space. The food was great, the service was solid, and if they toned down the fragrance, the experience would have been even better.

If it wasn't for a lone Puerto Rican flag by the door, I almost keep driving and dismiss it as if it was a false Yelp page. Thank God I did not! This little place is tiny, with a counter that sits about four people max and a small table for two. They specialize in takeouts mostly but we were able to snatch that little table for two. From the start, the lady at the counter was super nice and we immediately felt welcomed. We ordered an alcapurria, which for me is something I order to gauge the level of what to expect from our meals. Is it overcooked? Is it undercooked? Is it fried on burnt cooking oil or fresh? How a restaurant serves you an appetizer is very telling of their level of attention to detail. Luckily for us, this appetizer was perfectly cooked and it had a very well seasoned ground beef that was very flavorful. I, of course, ordered a Mofongo with fried pork chunks, which is one of my favorite all time meals while my wife went with her go-to chicken breast with salad and tostones. Both of our meals were very satisfying with a nice authentic Puerto Rican flavor. My mofongo was soft and moist with the nice flavor of green plantains. You would find the flavorful pieces of pork grind mixed in too, just like they make them back at the island. The pork chunks were flavorful but a little too hard and challenging to cut through with the plastic cutlery that we were given. I'm sure I would have enjoyed it way more with a good fork and knife in hand, but nevertheless, I can see myself ordering the exact same dish next time I buy dinner here again. My wife was very happy with her meal too. Overall, we will order to go next time, or for delivery. I am curious to see how this mofongo will travel. One thing I noticed is that they don't serve the mofongo with chicken broth on the side which would probably be a great idea to include, especially on a delivery. Plantains dry up so a side of this could revive it back to its full flavor. I'm very happy to have found this place and I recommend it.

A Hidden Gem for Classic Cuban Bites with fast w polite service !…read moreStopped by this cozy Cuban bakery in Miami and was instantly impressed. It has that comfortable café vibe that makes you want to linger with a colada in hand--and that's exactly what we did. We started with a colada and toasted Cuban bread, but the real highlight was discovering that this place offers some traditional items you rarely see anymore. Cheese croquettes! Yes, you read that right. Not just the standard ham or chicken you find at most spots--this bakery brings back the classic cheese croqueta I used to get as a kid. Major nostalgia points. On top of that, they had a spinach croquette that was absolutely delicious. But what really blew me away was the spinach-stuffed pastry. And when I say "stuffed," I mean it. So many places skimp on the filling, but not here. This pastry was packed and full of flavor in every bite. Check out my photos--what you see is what you get. This spot is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates traditional Cuban flavors with generous portions and a lot of heart. I'll 100% be coming back just for the pastries and the croqueta variety alone.
