Loved this place from their original sandwich to their coconut flan. Everything is sooo amazing! Love their guarapo so sweet and refreshing. You must try this if you're visiting Little Havana!

Excellent food and service. Had pan con bistec . It was delicious. The location is clean. The staff does a great job. I know when I want a great pan con bistec, I can come here and have one. The mariquitas are delicious too. Always order them as well.

Just on the outskirts of the main tourist attractions, which is great because it's not as crowded. Classic diner setting with fast service. Lots of local diners so you know it's legit with reasonable prices. The original frita was a delicious quick bite!

Frita Suprema - interesting mix of sweet and savory

We came here in January 2025, just after a trip to Versailles, and unfortunately after drinking two of their Cuban coffees! Our hearts were pounding when we walked in here! I ordered the Fritas Supreme and my lady ordered the Cuban. My sandwich was an interesting mix of sweet and savory, and the ingredients were well layered. The Cuban was equally delicious. The staff here were awesome, all of them seeming to have a good time. Our server recommended the sugar cane juice, which we thoroughly enjoyed. This was an excellent stop, and if you want to learn more about this place, check them out on YouTube.

Very good Cuban spot walking distance from the heart of Little Havana. It felt like we missed the touristy hustle and bustle by coming here because it's about 0.3 miles down the road from the main tourist drop off. I really enjoyed the unique flavor of the Frita and the bread was great. The Cuban sandwich was good too but neither were super filling so I'm glad I got both. Glad we came but I'd probably try somewhere else next time.

We stopped by late in the evening to try this place out as we had seen it on TV. We got the Cubano and the Original Frita with the potato crisps. The Cubano itself was delicous with an amazing about of filling. The pickles, pork, mustard you could taste it all. The bread was nice and fluffy as well (really juicy). The Frita was not as good but it had some good texture, I feel it was kind of dry honestly. The staff was nice, but the only reason why I'm taking off two stars instead of one was tips was automatically applied and we were ordering this as carryout...I feel like given that I wasn't eating in and ordering to go this should not have been automatically applied. I would be careful in any case if you order as I was almost going to tip again on top of the tip that was mandatorily applied...

Super fast service, casual and cheap, and sooo satisfying!! I went silent while eating the Frita Suprema because it was so good. The best and most unique part of the suprema had to be the plantains. Mamey Batido was also delicious. Can't wait to try more types of Fritos and flavors of batidos!

Absolute GEM and will be thinking about this for a long time. While we took our fritas to go, it was so lovely to see plenty of people enjoying the diner style interior- it felt like the kind of place people of all generations enjoy and return to for years! I chose the Frita Suprema and was legitimately left speechless - it was such a texture and taste explosion with great crunchiness from the potato sticks, sweetness from the maduros, and excellent seasoning on the burger itself. I am planning my next trip writing this!!

We saw El Rey at the Netflix Specials and I immediately jot it down to visit when we come back from our Disney Cruise adventure. This did not disappoint! The restaurant is in a complex and the area has limited free parking at front but there are paid parking along the street. It's a sit down resto but you can take any available tables. We were given water as soon as we sat down. The menus are available on the table and every meal has spanish and english wordings in it. The ambiance was like a typical diner. Me and my son got te Cuban Sandwich, then the beef empanada, pork steak lunch meal and a side of plaintains and order of their sopa del res. The empanada came in first, and it was huge! Probably 40% has the meat qnd the rest are fried cover. It's Ok for me, the beef was on the salty side but the flour tortilla was so good. Then the sopa del res came, it reminded me of the Beef Nilaga that I grew up loving. The soup was so good and the beef was fall off the bone. Then the Cuban sandwich, and it was so good!! The best.. the bread was perfectly crisp.. it's the oerfect toast with crunch on every bite and the cheese melted. The taste was out of this world! We are surely coming back!

Absolutely phenomenal food and great service. Can't wait to come back someday! So good we had to come back two hours later for more

Sit at the bar for a fast and fun experience.

This place is a true Miami institution. The undisputed home of the original Cuban frita. As a local, I've been coming here since I was a kid, and it's one of those spots I recommend to everyone visiting Miami. The flavor of the meat patty is unlike any other burger you've ever had. It's uniquely Cuban, perfectly seasoned, and completely unforgettable. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the people and the atmosphere. Unlike most tourist-heavy spots, you'll find more locals than visitors here. Generations of Cuban families, including older regulars who've been coming their entire lives. The servers speak Spanish, move with purpose, and treat everyone like family. It feels authentic in the best way possible. For this visit, we ordered the ham croquettes (fried fresh and absolutely delicious), two fritas, I had mine al caballo (with a fried egg and cheese) while my husband went with the original and a pan con bistec. Simple food done perfectly, full of flavor and nostalgia. Don't skip the guarapo, a freshly pressed sugarcane juice that is a must when you're here. If you want a real taste of Miami, not a watered-down tourist version, this is the place.

Bourdain-recommended El Rey De Las Fritas was the perfect late morning semi-hangover meal to fuel us for a day of adventuring around Miami! What we ate ~ Double Frita Sandwich Cubano Yuca Frita Croquetas de Jamon Empanada de Carne Service was quick, and super rad retro vibes. Obviously a locally-loved spot! We would absolutely return during our next trip to Miami.

There was literally dirt/mud at the bottom and I took my first bite and it felt like biting into sand. Upon spitting the food out onto my plate it was black sludge. Literally my tongue and teeth were black. The waiter came by and grabbed the plate when I was in the bathroom. I spent about 10 minutes trying to get that BLACK SLUDGE out of my mouth. When I was spitting out the dirt/mud wife noticed the bus boys laughing at me and there was not a manger in sight. When I asked for a manager he did not even respond. No apology or anything just a look of confusion. Worst experience in a restaurant in my life and I love to eat and have been to many types of restaurant big and small. Cheap and expensive and this one takes the cake. We were so bummed as I see thousands of great reviews. But if there was a zero I would have given zero stars the way they handled the situation. If you eat there in the future make sure to check for DIRT/MUD.

Five of us ordered: 5 Cafecitos 1 Pan con Lechon 3 Pan con Bistec 1 Coladita 1 Timba Came out to $107.45 including a $10 tip. We already had a memorable Cubano sandwich so we explored other options. The Lechon was by far the crowd favorite flavor wise, but it is heavier with the pork fat. The garlic sauce is a must to help cut through the richness. We left supremely happy with the salty and garlicky fat flavors lingering on our tastebuds, rejuvenated by a quick shot of velvety espresso, and capped off with the sweet guava and tangy queso crema shake (La Timba). This location is nestled in a food court style area, with a few restaurants offering sit down table service as well. And when I say offering, the sales tactics are reminiscent of timeshare sales zombies standing in an idle state until you mistakenly stop for a BEAT and then it's game on for them. Luckily at Sanguich, they have a few dedicated seats and tables for themselves and they'll come drop your order for you. A little bit of a scavenger hunt to find it, but well worth the adventure. The views out on the water are a bonus too.

We ordered a ton, and right off the bat: if you love croquetas and empanadas, order extra. They're on the smaller side and come individually, but they are so good they disappear fast. The beef empanadas were a 10/10 perfectly seasoned and crispy. The chicken empanadas didn't hit the same for me, but the jamón croquetas? Absolutely insane. A must. For appetizers, the prawns al ajillo were delicious super flavorful and cooked perfectly. We also tried the grilled octopus, which was good, but not my favorite. It leaned a bit bland for my taste, even with the sauce. Now, the must-get: the carnitas with pickled onions. Easily one of the best dishes of the night so flavorful, tender, and perfectly balanced. For entrées, we had the ribeye steak and arroz con pollo, plus sides of tostones and yuca. Everything here delivered. The steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right not overly salty. The arroz con pollo was phenomenal, the kind of dish you could eat every single day. The tostones were crispy and tossed in garlic, which took the flavor to another level, and the yuca was melt-in-your-mouth good. I also ordered a mojito, which unfortunately was very watered down, I barely got any of that classic mojito flavor. Service overall was solid, especially considering how loud the restaurant gets it was honestly hard to hear each other at the table, so shoutout to our server for keeping everything straight. The appetizers came out quickly, back-to-back, which we loved. The only downside was the wait for the entrées they took quite a while after we finished the apps, even though we ordered everything at once. Overall, amazing food, great energy, and definitely worth going just be prepared for a lively (and loud) atmosphere.

We started off with a couple of mojitos and their Vaca Frita Tostones. You get these homemade maduro tostones topped off with shreeded beef in a moon sauce, pickled onion, and aji Amarillo aioli. A very delicious dish that didn't last long. Shortly after we received our main dish. I really hate when they do that. My wife ordered their Abuelas Ropa Vieja and I ordered their Masa de Puerco Chino. My wife didn't really care for her dish much. We've had plenty of Ropa Vieja before and would have preferred a congri type of rice as opppsed to just plain white rice. My dish was 10/10. Like in the name of "chino" this is an Asian inspired dish with fried rice, maduros, pineapple confit and crispy pork. A very delicious dish. It could have don't without the little salad on top, but at least it ads color to the dish. The crispy pork tasted so amazing and the fried had so much flavor. The Cuban burger was also fantastic -- juicy, flavorful, and big enough that you start questioning whether you should have skipped breakfast. The area around the restaurant was great too. We stopped here at this one on Espanola Way for dinner on a Sunday, primarily because we had somewhere else in this area to be afterward, and while most every place on this touristy street was packed with a wait list, this restaurant could seat us right away. Service was good all evening from an outgoing waiter, this place was great for people watching (we were seated at a high top on the sidewalk in front), the food was good and the prices were reasonable, especially considering that Espanola Way is one of the most touristy areas on already touristy Miami Beach. I had the signature roasted chicken ($28) and my husband the Cuban churrasco steak ($42) and both included sides. We also had a glass of wine each and again, wine prices were reasonable. While we don't tend to eat in this general area often as it is so touristy which usually equals lackluster food and service at high prices, Havana 1957 was just fine. I'd happily return here.
