Stop by here the other night for dinner during a work trip. I was excited to try some Peruvian food and saw that Mayu was right across the street. I got the Pollo Saltado as it is my usual go to dish. The overall flavoring was decent, a little bit on the salty side. The chicken breast that came with it was a little dry and overcooked. Everything else was good with it, including the fries. Overall service was excellent. I sat at the bar, and the bartender was very attentive and conversational. read more

I recently visited Mayu, which seems to be the more upper scale iteration of Amomas del Peru. The restaurant is located on 7th street on the ground floor of Infinity at Brickell building. The staff really do make the effort to make the experience feel as fancy as possible. What I noticed right away was that it was FREEZING inside, so if you go, make sure to bring something with you. When you first walk in, the area to your right is dimly lit and has a more "find dining" feel. The area toward the back on the other hand is very brightly lit and feels more cafeteria-like. We ended up sitting there because it was warmer toward the back of the restaurant. While perusing their wine list, I asked for the albarino which they didn't have at the time and asked to taste the sauvignon blanc they serve by the glass. It tasted more like a chardonnay to me so I asked for a glass of rose instead. I don't see it on the website now, but on that day there was a French rose available by the glass. Another gentleman comes over and tells me "I heard our wine was no to your liking, perhaps you'd like this one." He handed me a taste of a Peruvian rose which wasn't ideal, but at that point I felt guilty and didn't want to be difficult so I just kept it when he said they didn't have the French rose available. The next morning I woke up with a MASSIVE headache. So, I'm not sure Peruvian rose is for me. As for the food...we had the HAMACHI TIRADITO, CEVICHE BOTIJERO, BLACK TRUFFLE ROLL, PULPO ANTICUCHERO, and the LOMO SALTADO. The food was very very good, but my favorite was the black truffle roll. The octopus came in close second and my least favorite was the logo. If you're in Brickell and looking for good Peruvian food, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mayu. I'd just keep my expectations in check regarding the service and the overall experience, at least until they work out the kinks. read more

I honestly had one of the top 10 meals of the last two years here. The flavor was exquisite, the prices seemed reasonable (for Miami) and they waited on you extremely attentively. Visited here for a business dinner on a Wednesday night. I like Peruvian food so was excited to visit Mayu. As there was a large group of us we had a set menu to order from, including a drink. I chose the pisco sour as my drink and it was very good. For my starter I went with the ceviche (medium spicy) and picked the Aji De Gallina for my main course. The service was extremely slow, even though it wasn't very busy inside, and it took a while for the starters to arrive. When it did arrive though the ceviche was very good, with a very generous portion of fish. There was then a fairly long wait between our mains coming out and when it did I really did not enjoy the flavors or texture of my dish. I had a couple of forkfuls but it was making me feel slightly unwell so I couldn't eat any more. We were due to be served dessert but after a 30 minute wait we had to leave (we had already been at the restaurant for 3 hours for 2 courses). The interior of the restaurant is very pretty, and the ceviche was good, but the speed of service just really let this place down. With so many options of places to eat in Miami I would not return here. read more

Mayu is a Brickell gem! The classic ceviche was so fresh with the perfect amount of zest! It came in stone bowl that kept it chilled. I also had 2 sushi rolls. My favorite was the HOTATE PARMA. It was packed with flavor! My first time having scallops on my sushi but it was amazing. The ACEVICHADO roll was good too but had less flavor. Beautiful ambiance and attentive service. I had a great experience at Mayu! I recently went for a Galentine's dinner and it was the perfect spot to celebrate the girls! They extended their prefix lunch menu for us which was really nice and accommodating. The servers were all excellent - serving a large group can be challenging, but they were great! Ok, so now the food. Everything was amazing! I had the chicken appetizer, which I normally would not choose but it was spot on. Everything was full of flavor. High quality dining experience! From the entrance where you are greeted and welcomed in warm fashion to the Mayu experience. There is seating at the bar and very comfortable tables inside. The drinks all have creative, decorative, designs, flavors, and the waitress was even giving us a background and history on some of the drinks! Very cool! I will say this definitely has fancy date night vibes, but this can also be a great setting for a group dinner or lunch or maybe even for a work function. As for the food options, I've tried a little bit of almost everything from this menu since I've been a couple times to this location. And they're all really good, filled with flavor, and so tasty! You'e going to want to come back for more! Now if were talking favorites, hands down the ceviche and lomo saltado is made here with a perfect balance of salt and spices which gives this quite possibly the best lomo saltado I've ever had. The ceviche is just as good too and so fresh! If you do come check out Mayu, make sure to look at their lunch executive menu which features some deals that you can take advantage of. Every dish I've tried here has been good. I've sat at the bar both times and had small plates, but they were decent portions and tasted fresh (especially the ceviche). The waiters and bartenders were attentive and sweet. They make suggestions and check on you frequently. Ambiance is calm and inviting. read more

We just found the most aesthetically pleasing Peruvian restaurant and it's pure gold and I'm not just saying this because of the Amazonian Treasure. Think an elevated Bellini. It's also the only spot I know of that has pisco flights. We got 3 different shots and when we were ready for some more fun we turned our pisco flight to a pisco sour flight trying out their passion, chica and traditional. I'd order the passinfruit a million times over. We opened our palate with their stracciatella and aguaymanto salad we then had their ceviche clásico which was served in this gorgeous Poseidon dish, and ps it was so delicious with the sweet potato, chocolate and leche de Tigre. Btw let's talk about how cute this Llama is as we move on to this even more gorgeous spiced seared salmon with this bright pink koji olive sauce the portion of meat will make your trainer proud. You won't be skipping on the protein here and this is also true for the marinated NY striploin steak the rice it's served with is perfect and as we unwind, we have to finish the meal with a beautiful espresso martini and their suspiro limeño and the Lucina cheesecake, they had run out of the lunch Miami Spice desserts so we lucked out and go to try the dinner desserts and all I'm saying is I'm going to have to come back for their dinner menu. PS this lunch menu is only $35 and I felt like I robbed the place, the quality, the beauty and the amazing portion of this place means I have to be back. read more

Staff greeted my group upon entry. They have many tables as well as bar top seating. This is a great restaurant to catch up with friends or for a date. Jessica bartender was amazing. Very high energy and very helpful in navigating the menu. Maiz al wok- 10/10 Very flavorful with umami. This is a Peruvian version of esquites. Ceviche Classico- 10/10 Fresh tasting flavor where you are able to adjust the heat. This dish was perfectly balanced. This is a great portion to share. Memorable peruvian food in a lovely space with stellar service. When you first arrive the host warmly greets you and asks if you want to partake in their cleansing, where they bless you and pour tea tree oil and eucalyptus infused water over your hands into a big bowl filled with beautiful flowers Upon being seated, they served us some chcica morada to drink, which was sweet with a bit of spice, and a nice way to start the meal. We all ordered cocktails and enjoyed them, but the standouts were the elements drinks. I particularly like the air element the best - the presentation in the hanging glass with dry ice was very cool, and the fermented kiwi flavor was so good. We tried the nikkei ceviche, anticucheros, ragu ossobucco, a lo pobre, aji gallina, and lomo saltado. I really like the nikkei ceviche, it had a bit more of an asian taste profile, and the anticucheros were flavorful and tender. I highly recommend you say Yes to the side hot sauces, they are super flavorful and I wanted to dip everything in them. I liked my a lo pobre main, but loved my partner's ragu ossobucco - it was more of an Italian dish, and the truffle and ossobucco flavor and risotto texture was delicious! For dessert, they gave us some complimentary Picarones, and they were a great way to finish the meal, lighter than expected, given they are fried with a sweet syrup on top. Delicious food, nice romantic ambiance, and top notch service. Presentation for everything is beautiful. Mayu is great at making you feel special while also sharing Peruvian culture with you. What an incredible spot, I am so glad we got the chance to stop in on our way back to the Brightline - well worth it! I had heard of this place and seen their ads/posts pop up multiple times on my Instagram. It looked incredible - both the restaurant itself and the food. Well, my high expectations were far exceeded. We arrived early, 5pm ish, so the place was dead, which is fine with me - we get more attention! They gave us both a sip of ethnic Peruvian juice and some Canchita to snack on. We started with a round of cocktails, the Cafe Inca and Guava y Queso. I also would like to note, the place was completely decorated for Halloween - so adorable, but I digress. The cocktails were all outstanding! After the first round, we ordered two flavored Pisco sours. Delicious. The bartender told us to try the Hotate Parmesan (sushi), so we gave that a shot. It was a very unique shrimp tempura roll with truffle and parmesan cheese. Delicious. The manager then came over and gave us two vouchers for free drinks - one for the ladies (me) and one for the gentleman. They were kind enough to let us use the vouchers (the time frame was later in the day on the voucher, but they didn't mind). While sipping our third and final cocktail, we ordered the octopus appetizer. It was a very unique dish complete with purple foam. The bar staff was super friendly, as were the managers. They loved telling us about Peruvian cuisine and how they incorporated some Mayan traditions into their dishes and the flatware they use. Stopped in to Mayu for a drink to pass time until our lunch reservation across the street. This place is beautiful! Every detail of the decor is so cute and thoughtful. I want the pretty pink velvet bar stools for my house! The bathrooms were so clean and the hand soap is kind of like a scrub so it left my hands feeling soft and clean! We were greeted by all the staff with smiles and warm welcomes. To start they serve Peruvian style corn nuts and house made chicha morada. Because we already had lunch plans we did not eat here at this time but the menu looks amazing so I will definitely be back soon! read more

Why there' isn't a wait to eat at Mayu (means celestial sky river in Quechua and coincidentally we are by the Miami River) can only be attributed to real bad marketing . This place is unique, delicious, gorgeously decorated culinary experience and in a city where the hype is more important than the quality Mayu is a gem. This is my second time here and I'm just as impressed as I was the first time I came for Miami spice - which by the way, is still available at lunch for $35 MIami ( I posted the pic) and it is amazing. I think what most impresses me about this restaurant is the service, the quality, the presentation of the succulent dishes and the uniqueness. In Miami, Peruvian restaurants abound, but Mayu goes one step beyond. Owned by the Aromas Del Peru chain, the journey begins with the welcoming ritual where our hands are ceremoniously cleansed in essential oils to the scent of Palo Danto in the air and we continue to the complementary chicha morada made from purple corn juice, with pineapple, nutmeg, lemon juice and cinnamon which is refreshing Peruvian drink, which is just the first reason why Mayu is special. Super nice ambiance and A+ food! My boyfriend and I were visiting from NYC and stumbled upon this spot while looking for Peruvian restaurants. The food was so so good that we had to ordered a 4th item even though we were so full from the 3 items that we ate. -ceviche resaca (seafood mixture): really fresh and refreshing. Really cool that the dish was presented on a gorgeous platter of decorations and dry ice. -grilled octopus: beautiful presentation first of all. The octopus itself is perfectly cooked, tender and smoky, honestly one of the best grilled octopus we had in the states. The side veggies and sauce were great complements to the octopus -brazino: really impressed with the restaurant's deboning of this dish. In the when we ordered Brazinos, it came as a whole fish with the head and bone in. But Mayu was able to deboned it completely and also took off the what which made it really easy to eat. Flavoring was also really good -maki rolls: we ordered one of the specials of the day maki rolls that actually came with cream cheese but it was so awesome that they were able to remove the cream cheese since we don't really enjoy that in our maki rolls. Well made and nicely presented. Highly recommend this Peruvian place! The staffs are awesome and always provided recommendations on items which really helped us decide what to order. read more

Fabulous food. Stylish ambience. Terrific service. We only had one night in Miami, i.e. one restaurant in this very food town. Mayu Peruvian popped up on Yelp and we headed over. What a lovely place. We given a warm welcome on a n unusullycold, windy night. Our table was cozy and our waiter immediately brought us both chicha morada, the national drink of Peru, and a bowl of cancha Serrano (Peruvian corn nuts). A friend once told me that every refrigerator in Peru contains a pitcher of chicha morada. And then owner Allyson Valverde came over to our table to welcome us. Turns out this young woman has been in the restaurant business for 23 years -- she started as a child working beside her mother. Allyson sent over two pieces of nigiri sushi with cuy. I'm not sure cut will ever be a ihit n the US but it was interesting. We followed up with two ceviche appetizers -- fabulous and huge portions -- and split a fish entree. This was a lovely evening. I went to Mayu for a quick lunch break but that was enough to understand that this new restaurant in Miami ( they opened in late 2023 ) is a great addition in the Peruvian options. Located in Brickell few blocks away from the City Center mall this restaurant is finally the real Fancy Peruvian option. Starting from the very beginning you are welcomed at the door by the host who invites you to wash your hands with perfumed water that she gently pour on your hands. Once at the table the attention is just excellent and they bring you a complimentary glass of Chicha Morada ( authentic Peruvian beverage ). The GM was very nice and came to personally introduce herself as well. Food was phenomenal and so was also the Pisco sour. It was a quick lunch break but I cannot wait to go for dinner because the restaurant is very elegant and vibrant. Great job read more

Had such a nice presence about him and did a great job of explaining the dishes. My bff and I had their happy hour apps and 2 drinks each. All were great. For our entree I decided to go with the salmon and she had the branzino. The crispy skin on the salmon was the best part and the sauce that accompanied the dish was so good. The branzino was fresh along with the plantains and cilantro rice...so yummy. We both were a little surprised that it wasn't busy for a Friday evening but it also worked in our favor because of the attention we received during our visit. I honestly can't say enough good things about this restaurant. Usually I don't bother to add yet another review that agrees with everything that's already been said, but this place deserves more glowing reviews. First, the staff are pleasant, courteous, thoughtful, interesting and engaging. In a city of pretentious restaurants with staff that can't seem to be bothered to give you their attention, this place stands out. The food is just incredible. Take the recommendations of the bar tender and manager (Nicole, if I recall correctly). They know their food and their menu. The chefs know their stuff. You won't be disappointed. This will be a regular stop when I'm in Atlanta. Do yourself and favor and check it out for yourself. Just leave me a seat at the bar. read more

The sushi roll was great, definitely one of my top favorites. Very nicely decorated both inside and outside with a very warm staff. Adrian was incredibly friendly and attentive to our needs. We dined at this restaurant for the first time and had a lovely experience. As we walked in, we were welcomed to use a nice water fountain to wash our hands. It smelled nice and the whole setup had a calm, Zen vibe. Service by our waiter Alexander was excellent! Alexander was very patient in suggesting items on the menu, especially that we wanted to try many things, but weren't sure of portion sizes. I'm Miami is really hard to find places that have consistently good quality food and service. We come here every month because my son's pediatrician office is next door. This place never disappoints. We get the same thing every time because it ALWAYS hits the spot. Their sushi "hotate parma" is by far the best sushi ive had in Miami. We get w salmon Instead of scallops and extra torched. BOMB!!! And we always get the a lo pobre w churrasco. Honestly I can come everyday & not get tired of it. So good! I have also tried their lomo, salmon, etc. and it's top. Their dessert isn't that great but it's fine, we usually don't have it. The donuts are good but tiny portion. And service is always amazing, we feel so welcome all the time. Our servers are usually Jose and Adrian. They provide quality service every time. The manger is checking up on tables as well. As much as I wanted to love this place for its high rating I found nothing out of the ordinary that would make it 5 star. Staff were attentive and boast very well their expertise with Peruvian food. They were attentive to ordering and questions, opening doors but not always checking in once food arrived. We were familiar with the area but parking is a challenge by its location on the outside edge near Metrorail. if you didn't want to valet it was not the easiest for even a seasoned person to Brickell area. Food had a nice presentation and was good but not anything special. Drinks were OK but again nothing special. Sorry I just cant do any better. read more

Hace unos días fui a Mayu y todo estuvo genial hasta que tube una situación que borro todo lo bonito del restaurante. Después de la cena pedí una copa de vino y estaba pasada y pedí que me cambiaran. El mesero muy amable me atendió de inmediato pero se acerco una sra que terminó siendo la manager cual fue muy corriente y grosera. Hablo con mi esposo y ignorándome por completo y no me quiso dar la razon sin saber que yo soy la clienta y conocedora de vino pz se noto que no le gustó mi comunicación en español poniéndose incomoda con mi idioma natal ya que soy latina. Discriminándome en un restaurante que es hispano y ella misma siendo latina. Ese nivel de racismo por hablarle en español siendo un restaurante de hispanos fue muy de poca educación para ser la manager del restaurante. Espero mi comentario ayude a otras personas a no dejarse discriminar por nuestro idioma y hacernos sentir menospreciados por ser latinos. read more
