The restaurant tries to maximize seating by cramming in as many tables as possible. They are packed so tightly together that it feels like you're dining with the strangers next to you rather than near them. If the restaurant ever invests in better seating arrangements--or at least rethinks how they place guests--I'd happily give 5 stars. Until then, it's hard to justify the discomfort.

We started with the La Mar Golden Platter ($95), a delicious spread of ceviches and causas that perfectly showcased the bright, fresh flavors La Mar is known for. Although this is a classic dish made at many Peruvian restaurants, it's the best Lomo Saltado we've ever had, no exaggeration!
