Sis and mom shared the red snapper (approximately $40), we asked if they could make some kind of pico de gallo for it and the chef was nice enough to make for us. I had the Lomo saltado for $20 and the meat was nice and tender and good sauce. A little more on the pricier side that what I am used to but it is downtown area. We were on our way to Cvi.Che 105 and saw this little spot so we decided to give them a try. We were very happy with our choice. Not a fancy place but flavorful food and nice sized portions. The ceviche mixto was delicious- a great mix of calamari, fish, shrimp, etc . The chaufa portion was plentiful and yummy. Holy humongous portions Batman!!! Wow this unassuming little restaurant packs a punch and a single dish will last you for days of leftovers! We ordered the parihuela and arroz con mariscos - both were delicious! less than $20 a plate, this meal left us very full and satisfied. It was PLENTY to share! This restaurant amazed me and my company. You get an enormous amount of food presented to you like you're an emperor, and it's such fantastic, fresh food! They bring you Peruvian corn and hot green sauce to start. I started out with the shrimp and fish ceviche as an appetizer, which was covered in lemon juice and Peruvian corn. It was such a big portion, so it was enough for four people to share, and so tasty. The fish pieces were chunky and juicy. It was bigger and better than most ceviches I had in Peru itself. Then got the red snapper entree with seafood and salad. It was covered with mussels, calamari, red sauce, and plantains - the only good plantains I've had in Miami - and a huge separate plate of salad. This could've been enough for three people. It was literally all my favorite things in one beautiful plate, and for so cheap. My jaw dropped when the waitress brought me this. It really was outstanding. Finished it off with a green tea. It was a small cup, but they refilled the hot water por gratis. The place itself has lots of color, art, and spunk. It felt like we'd stumbled upon such a local gem. This mom and pop Peruvian restaurant was highly recommended by my good friends and fellow Yelp Elites, Dan C and Michelle C. It's not fancy nor big. It's also not the easiest place to find in downtown because it's along a busy strip plaza. I can't call this a hole in the wall because it's clean and organized. But one thing I can honestly say, it just simply blew my expectations. Since this was my first time here, I just let my friends order whatever they normally get here because I trust their judgment. They ordered the Ceviche De Pescado, Lomo Saltado, and Anticuchos De Corazon. First thing I noticed was the portion. They were not stingy at all. Each entrée was enough to share between the four us. Secondly, the quality and taste were superb. Ceviche was fresh and had a nice spicy kick. The Lomo Saltado marinade was on point and not too salty. Plus the steak wasn't drowning with sauce. The grilled beef hearts were also delicious. Meat was tender with nice char from the grill and it came with a side of tasty steak potatoes. The best part of this feast was the price. Each entrée that we got was less than $15. Sweet! I also would like to praise the service. The servers were super nice and will gladly accommodate any special requests. So lucky to be able to join my friends for dinner here. It was a good 1st experience and not sure why it took me so long to review this place. I had been here a few times. Some of the food is pretty good. The pork special and lomo saltado are good. However, the service is atrocious. We've been made to move out of a four person table (we were 2) even though the place was empty. The problem is the furniture is too big for the place so if you sit on a two person table there isn't enough space to actually move in an out of the table to use the facilities or for whatever other reason. It's impossible to eat at those tiny tables unless you're descended from sardines. Additionally the water looks like it's out of Flint, MI. Only reason it doesn't have one star is because the food is pretty good. But it isn't worth the lack of cleanliness and the Folsom Prison water. read more

Solid Peruvian food with great service, good Cuban coffee, and big portions at good prices, makes this place totally deserving of 5 stars. I will admit that it sits on maybe one of my least favorite streets in downtown, but it's very convenient in that it's right off of the metromover and also close to Biscayne Blvd.. It's on that same street notorious for exchanging money. My go to is the pollo saltado. It is a HUGE portion for about 10 bucks. Really good. My coworker loves the ceviche. Looks very authentic and really fresh. The chaufas also look amazing and really popular. Best part is, it's a one-stop shop for Cuban coffee too. My husband and I ordered take-out from this place to bring back to our hotel. Although the food itself is definitely worth 5 stars, our experience with the take-out process was decidedly meh and could use much improvement. We ordered through the Yelp app on my phone, and it gave us an estimated time of 45-60 minutes for the order (which seemed a bit long for take-out, but okay). The confirmation email said we would get a status update about our order (e.g. when it was being made or when it was done), but we never got such an email. Finally, at 35 minutes, I sent my husband to the restaurant to see if it was ready (since it was only a block away). When he got there, he said that everything was ready before he arrived, and that it had probably been sitting out for a while because the food didn't feel as fresh/warm. As expected, the app we got (Yuca a la Huancaina, aka yuca with melted cheese sauce) was a bit cold, but our entrees (Arroz con mariscos aka seafood yellow rice and Lomo Saltado aka sauteed beef churrasco) were fine. In fact, I would highly recommend either of the two entrees we ordered. The seafood rice was super aromatic and the beef churrasco packed in so much flavor (plus it comes with fries that get soaked in the juices). I would probably even get the yuca again next time I come - pretty sure it would've been awesome if it had been hot, and I looooooved the cheese sauce. I have walked past this restaurant over a hundred times, never giving it a second thought to try because: 1) homeless people sleep on the storefronts of the shops that line this street at night 2) the sidewalks are covered in gum and trash 3) there's usually someone asking you for change...or money to fix a bike inner tube...although it looks like that person may have just stolen the bike...(true story!) We asked genuinely to the gentleman at the register that did not acknowledge us when we walked in if we could still eat at the restaurant, to what he said "we close at at 10" we asked once again can we eat here now, is 9:22, to what he said we close at 10. I noticed my food was ready and on the counter but no one around. Waited... and waited... The waitress was making some drinks in the back. Found myself waiting almost ten minutes. Got my food, ordered a Lomo Saltado which is a popular, traditional Peruvian dish, a stir fry that typically combines marinated strips of sirloin with onions, tomatoes, french fries, and other ingredients; and is typically served with rice. Also a side order of Papa a la Huancaína which is a Peruvian appetizer of boiled yellow potatoes in a spicy, creamy sauce called Huancaína sauce. Food would've been perfect if it wasn't for my cold white rice. It's a cute little restaurant but location wise it's not in the best area. You will find yourself dining with a view of the bums. If it doesn't bother you it's a great place with great prices. All together (including two cans of sodas) I ended up spending about $25. My entree and appetizer was enough to share with two. I once thought highly of this place and I've been a customer for years. After COVID, and the city's regulations I've walked in places and had to to say goodbye forever. This is one of those. Neither the owner who was working as a waitress , nor the cook hovering over the food had a mask. The owner got really flustered when she was questioned as to why she doesn't wear a mask. She literally told me if I don't like it I do not have to eat there. She failed to acknowledge the reality is that if she and her employees can't wear masks while handling other people's food during a deadly virus she deserves to have her restaurant shut down.
