My wife managed to get us a reservation here during our trip to Miami and we had an amazing time. Tam tam is a modern restaurant serving a fairly small menu of dishes bursting with flavours of Vietnam. The majority of their menu are small appetizers for sharing, with just a couple of larger plates as shareable mains. They also have a selection of beverages with and without alcohol. For our visit, we tried their: * Scallop pomelo crudo - refreshing due to the citrus notes of the pomelo which is accented by the use of coconut milk. Scallops were fresh and sweet. * Shimeji mushroom - hearty appetizer with a fairly strong dill flavour; not overpowering but also not for everyone * Tam Tam wings - 5 large crispy split wings in a sweet and sticky caramel sauce. (So 2.5 whole wings, per order). Definitely suggest squeezing in the lime juice provided for an extra taste of Vietnam. My 6 year old loved.it so much we doubled up on the order :-) * Lamb wrap situation - it's more than your usual lettuce wrap! A deconstructed lamb wrap with lettuce, pineapple, cucumber, pickled radish, rice noodle patty, and the star ingredient - lamb pieces grilled on lemongrass. This dish will transport you directly to southeast Asia! * Also ordered a Vietnamese coffee. This was one that was a bit disappointing. They only had iced coffee and the coffee wasn't very strong at all. The service was attentive. We never had to wait long to get our server's attention and our waters were refilled regularly. Overall the whole family had a wonderful time and this restaurant gets 4.5 stars rounded up to 5!

I was expecting more from the hype and the Michelin guide but honestly was not impressed. I came with a friend and we were 5 minutes late to the reservation due to the location being weird that if you miss it, you need to make a long circle back to the restaurant then park. For 5 minutes they did not hold our table and we had to sit in the bar. The waiter was very helpful and the food was good, but not out of this world. The bathroom was the coolest part with a karaoke screen and music inside, and I think the scallops were the best part.

Walked in with no reservations on a Thursday. They luckily had a table for 2 inside. The place gives a cozy hidden gem vibe. The service was very very good. Extremely attentive. Refills on drinks were quick and super friendly. My favorite dish was the scallops. AMAZING! The beef tartar was very high up there as well. A lot of flavor and I couldn't stop eating. My least favorite was the chicken wings. I'm not sure if the oil they used was old but it was definitely off. My least favorite dish. Other than that, cool spot!

The only reason this is 4 stars is because I didn't have a chance to eat at Tam Tam proper; this review is actually for the Lunar New Year festival block party they put together this last Sunday. I met up with a bunch of friends and we enjoyed the culinary & cultural offerings. Since I'm allergic to seafood, I was just able to taste the chicken yakoitori skewers which were made fresh and tasted delicious. I did get to indulge their liquor, with my favorite being the "ca phe sua da" coffee liqueur (Vietnamese coffee, condensed milk & whiskey). The Lucky Money - green tea infused gin - was another indulgence that I might've had once or twice as well as sake shots off the horse ice sculpture. The dragon show was fun to watch and the dancers were really talented. Definitely looking forward to this next year again!

We were in Miami for the Lunar New Year block party hosted by Tam Tam. Great vibe and energy with Dj, Live band and Dragon Dance show. We enjoyed the sampler for the event which was the Pho and their famous Tam Tam chicken wings. These wings were so yummy crispy with the fish sauce caramel, garlic, cilantro and lime. Each order had four chicken wings. The Pho broth was really good but the noodles were a bit soggy. We ordered from a walk up window after making a long line to try these wings. Well worth it and we were lucky as they ran out of wings a few minutes after we ordered ours. Great festival and would love to attend again next year!

We were able to snag an outdoor table for 2 on a busy weeknight at Michelin Bib Gourmand Tam Tam. The service was excellent! We enjoyed the scallop pomelo crudo with coconut milk (sour like Peruvian leche de Tigre) - it was beautifully creamy, aromatic, and bursted with citrus bites. The fish sauce caramel wings were delicious with freshly squeezed lime juice. Sticky, sweet, and umami. The lotus root salad with pork belly and crackers would have been better with more sour, spicy, aromatic notes! It felt a bit tamed down. Tam Tam's vibes and decor are awesome - make sure to check out their bathroom with karaoke and disco lights!

Tam Tam was an amazing experience all around. The food is delicious and the wait staff were amazing and super accommodating. For a place known for their meat dishes they actually also had very good vegetarian options. The shimeji mushroom was an absolutely must try and the highlight of the night. The spot is incredibly cute and perfect for a date night. It's definitely a place where the bill racks up quickly and you need to make a reservation in advanced. Tam Tam a great experience that will have something fun everyone!

Yum yum yum. We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday and I'm so glad we did. We initially weren't able to get a reservation - but when I looked that morning, I was able to grab one for right when they open - and I'm glad I did, as there was already a line out the door and the spot is a bit small. We tried a variety of things on the menu - but I keep dreaming of that delicious salad and the scallops - I wanted to drink the sauce the scallops came in. The fried chicken and ribs were also good - my husband certainly loved them. Service was fantastic - they do a great job of explaining each dish and the different components, and they were all appropriately spaced out, so we never felt rushed, our table was never too full with plates, but we never felt we were left waiting long for the next course.

Such an amazing meal! Such great flavors and everything we ordered was amazing. Drinks were also fun and tasty. Service was very nice as well. My only hesitation was limited vegetarian options.

Favorite dinner in Miami so far. Michelin bib gourmand recs are sometimes hit or miss but every one of these dishes was a hit! All of the flavors, sauces, and textures were spot on. What we ordered: *Grilled oysters (9.5/10) - the salted duck egg hollandaise on top was a deliciously unique treat *Scallop pomelo crudo (10/10) - its addictive, creamy coconut sauce with fresh scallop was the perfect contrast to the slightly crunchy, tart pomelo (similar to grapefruit). The addition of basil leaves enhanced the flavor of each bite. *Lotus root salad (9.2/10) - not as much of a life changing flavor palate as the previous two dishes, probably since there wasn't a main sauce which Tam Tam seems to do very well! Loved the crunchiness of each bite and variety of ingredients. Wish there were more of the shrimp chips (comes with 4). *Tam Tam Wings (9.2/10) - fried well, and the fish sauce caramel was delicious but just a little too salty for my liking. Our wing sizes seemed smaller than photos of other people's wings as well. The background music choice was interesting; instrumental mainstream pop, which interrupted the experience a bit in my opinion. Definitely make a reservation in advance, as the restaurant filled up quickly after opening. We were able to get a resy for 5pm at the bar and had a direct view of the open kitchen area where dishes were being made & served.

After two days of unsatisfactory food hunting in Miami, we finally had a good meal at Tam Tam. I'm generally not a fan of Vietnamese cuisine, especially after many tries of different Vietnamese restaurants across North America. However, Tam Tam is the one place that completely changed my opinion! The reservation is usually open a couple of weeks ahead and it's better to book early. The restaurant was cozy with several bar seats and some table seats around the bar. The renovation was very traditional Southeast Asian style and low profile. We ordered their signature chicken wings, mushroom, scallop crudo and lamb wrap situation. Every single dish impressed me in different way and it was hard to pick a favourite dish! - Scallop crudo is really fresh and has an interesting flavour. I really like the coconut flavour of this dish. It demonstrates the soul of Southeast Asian cuisine. - Chicken wings also have a special sweet flavour with the fish sauce, which is a commonly used sauce in addition to coconut milk in Southeast Asian cuisine. The wings are crispy and tender, with right amount of breading. We placed an extra order (5 wings per order). - Shimeji mushroom is a small refreshing and creative dish by the chef. I would never imagine dill would go so well with mushroom. Suitable for hot weather in Miami. - Lamb wrap situation is a dish like the restaurant itself: Ordinary in apprarance, rich in substance. We are provided with six pieces of lamb skewers/pine apples/lettuce wraps/cucumbers/peppers and are told to use one piece of each ingredient per wrap. For the sauce, we are provided with chili oil and sweet garlic sauce (they are considerate that my kid doesn't eat spicy). After first bite, we all fall in love with this dish. I'm impressed once again by the chef's imagination of flavouring. All the ingredients just mingle so well together and the lamb doesn't have any gamey smell and is very tender. In addition to the chef's solid cooking skills and creative ideas in demonstrating the highlight of Vietnamese cuisine, the service is also attentive. The servers are all very friendly and efficiently clean up dishes and add water for us. Tam Tam totally deserve to be on the Michelin Bib Gourmet list, strongly recommend this restaurant to all of you. I would definitely revisit next time I'm in Miami!

As someone who doesn't usually frequent downtown, Tam Tam is 3/4 times the reason why you'll find me in the area. From the second you drive by, you can sense that this is going to be an experience like no other. From their simple outdoor sitting, to the vibrancy you can feel even through the windows, to the welcoming energy the staff has; Tam Tam is a stellar experience from start to finish. You will normally find Tam himself in the kitchen adding his touch to every plate and his husband Harrison ensuring your experience is top tier, truly immersing you in what feels like their version of an elevated at home one of a kind Vietnamese dinner. Settle in, try one of their frozen drinks or their unique selections of wines (I recommend the Big Salt, it's one of my favorites) and order without holding back because you're going to want to try as many plates as possible. The highlights undoubtedly are their Tamarind Glazed Pork Ribs and the Tam Tam wings. Although you've tried these kinds of dishes many times before, you haven't tried them Tam Tam's way and they will immediately race to the top of your favorites. Other standouts are the Lotus Root Salad, the Steak Taratar, and truly I'm gonna stop here because if I keep going I could list the whole menu. Needless to say, Tam Tam is one of the best dinner experiences Miami has to offer.

I've been visiting a lot recently, and even joined their wine club which offers two curated wines a month. Locally owned and operated, I feel really good supporting a place that the owners put so much effort into to offer such a gem of a spot for locals. I've tried a lot of wines here, and I'm always amazed at finding something new to me that I enjoy. If you haven't been, it's the perfect place for a date, a girls night, or a day for yourself. They also have good snacks and charcuterie for you to munch on while you drink vino. Don't know much about wine? No problem. Their team will point you in the right direction and they have something for everyone. This is an approachable wine bar- they want you to enjoy the wine as much as they do and I love that about Magie. This spot has a nice indoor space and a beautiful outdoor area. They also have a sister location in the Grove.

There is a parking lot right on the side of the building, but if that lot is full, there is also street parking, and parking across the street in a lot behind the Citadel. The service here was great! All of the staff were very nice and welcoming. The set up of the lounge is also very cozy. There is plenty of space for people to sit whether you're on a date or with a small group, but seating is first come first serve, so if you're coming with a group it's better to get there earlier in the evening so you have a space comfortable enough for the size of your group. There is also indoor and outdoor seating which is nice. There are many wines to choose from and they also have a decent menu with light bites. We opted for the Dino nuggets and caviar which were a hit, the fried olives and some meats and cheeses with some cornishons, fig jam and a sliced baguette. Overall this place has a great vibe to it and I heard they host events every so often. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a nice space to chill with some friends and enjoy a nice spot in Miami.

The first location in the River is better imo because the location is bigger, there is plenty more seating than the Grove location. Although, I still enjoyed my time at this location as well. Sooo how it works is that you go inside and pick a bottle of wine from the fridges. You can also order by the glass if you aren't a big drinker or if you want to try different wines. The bottles are moderately priced depending on your selection. We chose an orange wine and it was nice, very refreshing, you can really get that citrus essence with every sip. Another thing that they have is that you can pick different cheeses and meats and they will build you a charcuterie board. I love this because it is all based on your selection, nothing will go to waste. They also have food you can order. A lot of people love the nuggets with caviar. I think they are decent imo but I'm not like in love with them. Parking can be a bit annoying... If there isn't street parking, you can also park in the garage. The service was good, the staff was friendly. The only thing that was a hassle was getting a table. We had to wait a bit in order for a table to become available. Overall, this spot is a very cozy place to hang and mingle with friends.

As others have stated, Magie is good in concept and we'll likely return here, but with just a bit…read moremore effort on their part this wine bar could be so much better IMO. Unlike some other reviewers that scoffed at the prices of the wine, that didn't bother me so much. We had a bottle here that cost $55 and it retails for about $28; I was OK with that, as all restaurants and wine bars have a markup above retail, and even when you go to spots like Happy Wine or El Carajo and pick out a bottle to drink while in their shop, they charge a corkage fee for that. What I did have a problem with is that, after the "service charge" and other fees were added on, our $55 bottle rang up to more than $73 in total, which was ludicrous. When we first arrived at Magie we were met by a young guy who pointed out the bottles and where the various charcuterie items are located in the coolers, and we were then pretty much left on our own. We really just wanted a glass of wine each, but unlike places like Vinoteca, here at Magie they had a very limited selection of wines by the glass, and the ones available all seemed to come in single-serve cans. We picked out a bottle to share, went to the register, paid and the guy opened it and handed us 2 glasses. When I returned to get napkins, the guy just motioned to where the napkins were so I could grab my own (after moving a delivery cart out of the way by myself so I could reach them). Again, though this place includes an automatic "service charge", we received zero actual "service" unless one considers the 45 seconds it takes to uncork our bottle and charge us for the purchase. We had a seat, had a glass of wine each and then re-corked our bottle of wine and took it with us. Overall I think Magie is a great concept with lots of potential. The inside seating area is interestingly decorated and outfitted with lots of eclectic furniture and items on the walls, and the relatively large patio seating out front with tables for 2 to 8 people is shielded from the adjacent street/traffic and shaded by lots of trees and greenery. The ambiance overall is really very nice. The service, however, was non-existent, especially considering the automatic charge for that, and while prices of at least some wines aren't terribly out of line, the fact that all the service charges, taxes and fees added $20 to the cost of our bottle was a bit of a shocker. Magie should consider adding more wines by the glass IMO. Not just subpar quality single-serve cans, but decent wines, poured from a proper bottle with a topper that preserves the wine between pours like most every quality wine bar commonly offers. Lastly, while I don't think anyone expects linen napkins and white glove service, the paper plates and plastic cutlery customers are given to eat with are a bit off vs. what this place appears to be trying to be and the prices charged. The "F*ck Brunch" positioning statement on the back of the staffs' shirts was an interesting touch.

Every staff member we encountered was fantastic, and everything we ate and drank was just as good. We started with a red Pinot noir bottle we loved so much that we ended up ordering three more for the table. For food, we ordered several dishes to share: The Marinated Olives which i didn't try these because I'm not an olive person. The Bacon Wrapped Plantains which was such a unique combo, and surprisingly delicious. The Local Burrata which was absolutely delicious. I've never met a pan con burrata I didn't like. The Manchego Croquetas were my absolutely favorite. manchego is one of my favorite cheeses, so I already knew I'd love this. Step up a few stairs, walk through the main entrance doors and beyond the sofas in the foyer is the entrance which looks more like an entrance to an office. The door gives way to slightly dim warm lighting, which creates an intimate and relaxing atmosphere. I sat at the bar with my husband and heard the bartender, Phillip taking repeated orders of old fashioned and espresso martini. I saw a table polishing glasses and glasses of wines and then came the surprise - their selections! Their selections were smaller than expected but thoughtfully chosen. We asked Phillip for his recommendations, along the lines of red & bold. He gladly pointed us to a wine that was not on the menu. It seems they offer a menu selection and off-menu/rotating selection from unique wine regions. We had a red blend from China (yes that's correct, it surprised me equally). But then I realized, I haven't had wines from most of the regions they offer and the curiosity sets in. Looking forward to explore the menu and off-menu selection. Perfect bar for date night or post dinner drinks and for all the wine explorers out there.

The only thing worth ordering is the classic smash burger. The burger was a good size and came with a lot of fries, i really enjoyed it. However, it proved to be a rather embarrassing restaurant choice for dinner. (We realized it was a cocktail bar after the fact) I brought my friend who came from out of town and she ordered tacos and well... they were a joke. Just two tacos with slivers of bland meat on FLOUR tortillas- saved by the sauce. Don't get me started on the skewers.. $24 for some meat and veggies on cocktail stirrers. They were half of the size you'd expect. Just to add insult to injury, the water was comically small and they charge $6 for a half-sized sized bottle of sprite. They also charge an automatic 20% gratuity just so you know. Nice place, just don't get food here.

Some people were just walking in the door carrying a guitar or keyboard. Before I heard any music I was skeptical of what the talent may be. I was so wrong!as just about everyone was really good. Some legit could make a career if had the right producer. The lounge area was comfortable with attentive servers. Had a nice selection of specialty cocktails.
