Tam Tam deserves all of the hype and then some. Every single bite we had was spectacular. The star of the show was definitely the wings! Wow, honestly, hands down the best wings I've ever had. The lime and sticky sauce were insane and unique, 10/10. The shimeji mushrooms were delightfully light, earthy, and herbaceous. What an experience. I had heard about Tam Tam from friends and had been on my radar for a while. This is a place for which you basically need a reservation, and they are not easy to come by. We ended up visiting at 5:30 p.m. to be able to grab a spot, and since before the restaurant opens, you can see people waiting for their reservations. You are first greeted at a window outside the restaurant, and as soon as you walk in, you are transported. The music, the decor, the aromas -- it feels like you are someplace else. A great atmosphere to enjoy a meal with your partner or with small groups of friends. I do want to highlight that the service was spotless since that first greeting at the window, to getting you to your table, going over the menu, and explaining the concept; they made sure we had a great experience throughout the meal. But what really sets Tam Tam apart is the food. The menu is short but accommodating, with options for everyone. Small dishes go for around $20 each, while large dishes go for around $40; you can expect to spend around $40-50 per person on food. We tried the Lotus salad, the Shimeji Mushroom, the wings, and the "wrap situation". I would say they were all +4.5 stars. Each of the dishes offered a unique flavor profile, not only amongst them but also from other restaurants you will try, making it truly a remarkable experience. For our visit, we tried their: * Scallop pomelo crudo - refreshing due to the citrus notes of the pomelo which is accented by the use of coconut milk. Scallops were fresh and sweet. * Shimeji mushroom - hearty appetizer with a fairly strong dill flavour; not overpowering but also not for everyone * Tam Tam wings - 5 large crispy split wings in a sweet and sticky caramel sauce. The only reason this is 4 stars is because I didn't have a chance to eat at Tam Tam proper; this review is actually for the Lunar New Year festival block party they put together this last Sunday. I met up with a bunch of friends and we enjoyed the culinary & cultural offerings. Since I'm allergic to seafood, I was just able to taste the chicken yakoitori skewers which were made fresh and tasted delicious. I did get to indulge their liquor, with my favorite being the "ca phe sua da" coffee liqueur (Vietnamese coffee, condensed milk & whiskey). We were in Miami for the Lunar New Year block party hosted by Tam Tam. Great vibe and energy with Dj, Live band and Dragon Dance show. We enjoyed the sampler for the event which was the Pho and their famous Tam Tam chicken wings. These wings were so yummy crispy with the fish sauce caramel, garlic, cilantro and lime. I came with a friend and we were 5 minutes late to the reservation due to the location being weird that if you miss it, you need to make a long circle back to the restaurant then park. Amazing. As soon as I saw this place in my Miami research for an upcoming trip, I knew I was coming. As a Vietnamese person, the menu screamed contemporary, flavorful, and new, and I wanted to try all of it. The host was friendly and prepped us for a 30 minute wait that ended up lasting maybe 10. From the second you drive by, you can sense that this is going to be an experience like no other. Settle in, try one of their frozen drinks or their unique selections of wines (I recommend the Big Salt, it's one of my favorites) and order without holding back because you're going to want to try as many plates as possible. I'm generally not a fan of Vietnamese cuisine, especially after many tries of different Vietnamese restaurants across North America. Every single dish impressed me in different way and it was hard to pick a favourite dish! - Scallop crudo is really fresh and has an interesting flavour. I really like the coconut flavour of this dish. It demonstrates the soul of Southeast Asian cuisine. - Chicken wings also have a special sweet flavour with the fish sauce, which is a commonly used sauce in addition to coconut milk in Southeast Asian cuisine. The wings are crispy and tender, with right amount of breading. We placed an extra order (5 wings per order). - Shimeji mushroom is a small refreshing and creative dish by the chef. I would never imagine dill would go so well with mushroom. Suitable for hot weather in Miami. - Lamb wrap situation is a dish like the restaurant itself: Ordinary in apprarance, rich in substance. We are provided with six pieces of lamb skewers/pine apples/lettuce wraps/cucumbers/peppers and are told to use one piece of each ingredient per wrap. For the sauce, we are provided with chili oil and sweet garlic sauce (they are considerate that my kid doesn't eat spicy). After first bite, we all fall in love with this dish. I'm impressed once again by the chef's imagination of flavouring. All the ingredients just mingle so well together and the lamb doesn't have any gamey smell and is very tender. Absolutely incredible. My partner and I came here around 10:20PM on Saturday and were seated at the bar right away. The vibe is super chill but the food was all presented beautifully and the flavors were on point. We started with the scallop pomello goi; super fresh melting your mouth scallops with a super flavorful sauce (they give you a spoon to get all of it). Next we got the tam tam wings which were fried perfectly. The last two small plates we got were the bone marrow and the shimeji mushrooms. The bone marrow came with toast that was slightly charred and super crispy, allowing the bone marrow to really melt in it. For the large plate we ordered the lamb situation. The lamb came in small kebab pieces and all of the toppings/fillings came pre-portioned so you don't have to worry about portioning/running out by the end of wasting at the end. It felt super fresh but also filling since the lamb portion was big (and lamb is a little heavier in general). We thought about skipped dessert but couldn't since all night we watched the milk tees me he's being made at the bar. We had to try it ourselves. I typically don't love the texture of tres leches but this one was different. The cookie crumble on top gave it a nice solid texture. Highly highly recommend. Phenomenal modern Vietnamese food, and considering the cost of eating out in Miami, reasonably priced for the quality of food. Growing up Vietnamese and having eaten typical Vietnamese cuisine my whole life, I was ready to be a bit critical, but when I came here with my brother and his wife we were all very impressed by how tasty, beautifully prepared, and unique the flavors were. The food all has very typical Vietnamese ingredients and flavors but executed perfectly and combined in ways that you can tell it's Vietnamese inspired cuisine but upgraded. We got a bunch of small plates and the grilled whole fish as our main/big plate. The first dish to come out was the scallop pomelo goi (salad), and believe me when I say the picture doesn't do justice to how incredibly flavorful, unique, and balanced the dish was; the rice paddy herb oil was packed with flavor and complimented the fresh slightly briny scallops and creamy coconut nuoc cham sauce. It was probably our favorite plate of the night. Next we're the shimeji mushrooms flavored after "cha ca la vong", a traditional Vietnamese dish of grilled fish seasoned heavily with dill; the mushrooms were captured and elevated that herby flavor balanced with the juicy umami mushrooms. Next were the wings and ribs, both recommended to me highly by multiple friends. The wings had a delicious sweet savory fish sauce caramel, which was perfectly balanced and not overly sweet like I've seen at some other places that try fish sauce caramel dishes. The ribs were fall off the bone tender with a beautiful savory sweet tangy tamarind glaze, I could've eaten a whole rack of them. Although we were plenty satisfied at this point, we still had the whole grilled which was butterflied, grilled beautifully with a nice smoky taste with the meat still juicy, topped with a generous helping of herbs and tomatoes. While it was a great dish and we had no real complaints, in retrospect we felt like ordering a few more of their unique and really impressive small shareable plates would've been more fun. Either way, everything we ate here knocked it out of the park, and whether you're used to eating Vietnamese food every week or never had it before, I highly recommend this place to everyone! In a city full of overpriced steakhouses, sushi spots, etc that focus more on instagram shots than actual taste, it's nice to have a place like Tam Tam. read more

What a culinary masterpiece! Fantastic modern Vietnamese cuisine! This meal has made it to my top 10 list! OMG... everything was flawlessly executed from start to finish. Fun, vibrant ambiance and "vibesy"music. The service was super attentive , efficient, fast and friendly. As for the food... the entire meal was phenomenal and truly memorable! - Mango margarita 9/10 - lotus salad 10/10 - Tam Tam wings 10/10 - mushrooms 10/10 - whole fish 1000/10 This place is a must try for everyone and I will definitely be back. I came here based on all the fabulous reviews of Tam Tam. We arrived around 7:15 and were seated almost immediately. We got an outside table with views of the new courthouse. There are limited menu options for someone like me who is picky (plz don't come for me). I came in wanting to try their wings and ribs, however, they were already out of the ribs by the time we ordered. The wings had a yummy glaze and a good portion of chicken on the bone. I have to say my favorite part would be the disco bathroom and dessert! The cheesecake is to die for and I'd come back just for that. It is a bit pricey for the portions but I'd probably come back to hopefully try the ribs. read more

The hype is real and worth it 100%! Tam Tam is cute, trendy and a sight to see. We made reservations with RESY and when we had a delay, we called the restaurant and Juli (which is pronounced Yuli), jumped in to help us without any problem. She was extremely kind, patient and professional. We arrived and ordered (with the amazing Atiya) 80% of the small plates and the two desserts. It was great! The scallops were great, as was the ribs, wings, corn elote, salad and quail. The dessert was a delicious pumpkin tres leches and the other one was a guava cheesecake made with cashew milk. Had heard a lot of hype about this place and wanted to give it a try. Couldn't believe that, aside from one mushroom dish featuring rather odd mushrooms, there was nothing vegan on the menu. They offered to substitute the lamb wrap with tofu, which would have been outrageous at $44. Another option was the lotus root salad, minus the shrimp and pork belly -- but as I suspected, it tasted flat and lifeless without the ingredients it was designed to include. There were only two main dishes and several small plates, but we were told the small plates were too small for one person and that we should order multiple dishes. The mushroom small plate actually would have been a reasonable portion if it came with rice. The prices did not match the casual, almost cheap-looking interior. The outdoor seating area also felt unpleasant, a bit dirty, surrounded by construction and people loitering, which did not make for a comfortable meal. On top of that, the place is definitely not dog-friendly; even with a reservation, you are seated outside at picnic tables if you come with a dog. read more

We have heard so many good things about Tam Tam and we had to try the restaurant with friends this weekend for dinner and we're so glad we did! Tam Tam is a very very small restaurant in Downtown Miami right across from the Miami Dade County Courthouse, and reservations are A MUST. Reservations open up 21 days in advance on Resy and go super quick. We made a reservation for a Saturday evening for a 7 PM slot for a table of 4 and arrived early to check-in and find parking. There are plenty of Miami Dade County court house parking garages in the area (you can park for up to 4 hours for $10- definitely not bad for Downtown Miami parking prices). We arrived at the restaurant and checked in with the host stand at the window and received a warm greeting from the host and they offered to have drinks prepared for us while our table was being prepared. The drink menu has everything from beer and wine, to wine based cocktails, and non-alcoholic drink options, all ranging in price. We ordered the Mango Margarita in the pig (around $20) for a nice size cocktail and it was really good and amazing quality! Our table had a slight delay due to the previous party staying a little longer, and the manager came out and kept us updated and sat us promptly as soon as the table was ready. We really appreciated their courteous service and they were all so nice, we really didn't even care that the table was 5 or 10 minutes after our reservation time because everyone was so friendly the entire time we were in the restaurant. When we were seated, our server came by and gave us a warm greeting for our first visit and provided us with our menus and offered any initial suggestions and came by a few minutes later to help us with our menu selections. For the smaller plates, it's a good idea to order about 2-3 smaller plates per person dining. We didn't order any of the larger plates because the smaller plates that we ordered were all pretty large portions. Our smaller plates we ordered were: -Jungle Steak Tartare ($21) -Lotus Root Salad ($21) -Shimeji Mushroom ($16) -Tam Tam wings ($18) -Tamarind Glazed Pork Ribs ($18) We also ordered the following items for dessert: -Callie's Pumpkin Tres Leches ($12) -Guava Cashew Cheesecake ($10) We also ordered the Mango Margarita wine based cocktail ($14) and a beer ($8). All food is OMG completely out of this world- everything was so flavorful and fresh, and the chefs truly put a lot of attention and care to every single dish. All of the employees were so friendly and made us all feel warm and welcome and never made us feel rushed at any point in the meal. Was dying to try this spot and really enjoyed it!! Started off with the frozen margarita, in the boozy pig. it's more alcohol and such a cute cup - literally a pig. Adorable. Absolutely loved the lotus root salad. So good, and honestly, I'm not even the biggest fan of lotus in general. I'm the one to pick it out of my ramen. But this salad was so delicious. The wings were also so good, definitely recommend. Looking around there were a lot of orders of the salad and wings so seems like the most popular dishes. Then we tried the pork ribs which were very tasty!! Very much enjoyed. The escarole was my least favorite. Cute idea, and I liked the charred escarole, the shrimp bits were good for the first few bites, then it was all I could taste. Very cute that you have to cut it though. Everything had a nice presentation and came out quick. Good service, would definitely come back. Also we came around happy hour time like 5:30 and I was so full with these 4 smaller dishes!! read more
