I had Tam Tam on my list and happy I finally made it happen. I've heard getting a reservation was challenging but I was able to book same day for an evening reservation on Resy. I was promptly seated when I got it. I started with their salted lemonade because who ever thought that salt belonged in lemonade?? So tasty and happy that I got it I opted for the Miami Spice menu since I had a good spread of the best items I wanted to try. I loved that Tam Tam wings were complimentary. The Scallop pomelo crudo was so good, they melted like butter in my mouth. Now there was a discrepancy between what Miami Spice website listed as the menu items and what's actually being offered by the restaurant. The Goat curry listed rice noodles on the Miami Spice website but the restaurant was offering egg noodles. I was so happy that they offered to change the egg noodles out for rice. Thank goodness because I really wanted to try the goat curry, it was so delicious, soft and flavorful. The fact that they even asked if I had any allergies, you can tell they really try to give you the best experience. No dessert for me as the options were not gluten free and dairy free. I left feeling satisfied and happy with my choices. Can't wait to return.
Love everything about this spot! We got to try the scallops, chicken wings, and the beef tartare. The flavors were all epic but I think the scallops were the standout. All of the staff were kind and attentive.
Simple and direct: book a reservation and enjoy. Refreshing to have a lively restaurant with authentic flavors and only a hint of fusion. Most Miami establishments tend to sway to the other extreme. Fusion and little authenticity. Service was outstanding. Food was very good and left you desiring a return visit.
It's a shame it took me this long to visit Tam Tam, the place is worth all the hype. I want to thank Val for making our dining experience so pleasant and for her amazing recommendations. We loved all the food, but were particularly surprised by the flavor of the tartare, scallop crudo, and the chicken wings. The lotus salad provided a perfect balance for the sweet and tangy wings, and the tartare was probably one of the best we have had. All the flavors were there, a party in your mouth, literally. Our only regret is that we didn't go soon enough to try the tamarind ribs (they are no longer part of the menu). The portions are shareable, and the tapas style truly adds to the experience. The ambiance was great too. Hole in the wall, nice conversation vibe. We would recommend for a date with an adventurous loved one or a friends' night out.
Every dish is so flavorful & unique. The portions are large & very shareable. The frog legs are surprisingly tender and delicious. The main dishes are amazing, especially the goat curry.
WOW! Came in for Miami spice and it did not disappoint!!! The food was bursting with flavor and every dish was better then the last. Portions a bit smaller then the regular menu but you will definitely leave full! Everything we ordered was fantastic. Coconut pandan soft serve was AMAZING. A must order. Service was fantastic they were on it. Karaoke bathroom is the second bathroom only not the first! Street parking around the restaurant. Make reservations!!! If you walk in you will have to sit outside which isnt the nicest environment as its downtown miami.
What a fun experience! Make sure to check out both bathrooms. Here are my favs in order. Their Chrysanthemum dessert wine was incredible 1. Scallops. It was other worldly experience, especially if you love basil.. 2. Chicken wings 3. Lettuce wraps. Good but a little too greasy for me 4. Prawns. Too fishy for me Our server was very nice and the place is fun, vintage and funky
Tam Tam deserves all of the hype and then some. Every single bite we had was spectacular. The star of the show was definitely the wings! Wow, honestly, hands down the best wings I've ever had. The lime and sticky sauce were insane and unique, 10/10. The shimeji mushrooms were delightfully light, earthy, and herbaceous. The lotus root salad had an acidic sauce a slight spice from chili peppers, and was full of crunch. Finally, the Banana milk tres leches - the sweetness is subtle from the banana milk and coconut flakes, and the crunch from the cookie topping was a nice complement to the soft cake. My only complaint about the dessert was that it was tiny, but I'm also a dessert gal down boots. Lol Highly recommend leaning into the buzz and making a res.
What an experience. I had heard about Tam Tam from friends and had been on my radar for a while. This is a place for which you basically need a reservation, and they are not easy to come by. We ended up visiting at 5:30 p.m. to be able to grab a spot, and since before the restaurant opens, you can see people waiting for their reservations. You are first greeted at a window outside the restaurant, and as soon as you walk in, you are transported. The music, the decor, the aromas -- it feels like you are someplace else. A great atmosphere to enjoy a meal with your partner or with small groups of friends. I do want to highlight that the service was spotless since that first greeting at the window, to getting you to your table, going over the menu, and explaining the concept; they made sure we had a great experience throughout the meal. But what really sets Tam Tam apart is the food. The menu is short but accommodating, with options for everyone. Small dishes go for around $20 each, while large dishes go for around $40; you can expect to spend around $40-50 per person on food. We tried the Lotus salad, the Shimeji Mushroom, the wings, and the "wrap situation". I would say they were all +4.5 stars. Each of the dishes offered a unique flavor profile, not only amongst them but also from other restaurants you will try, making it truly a remarkable experience. At Tam Tam, you can notice their attention to detail; each dish is carefully crafted, balancing freshness, textures, spice, all combining in an explosion of flavor in your mouth. All in all, go on Resy right now and book a spot. Tam Tam is definitely a worthy experience. My Criteria 5 stars: The best food I have ever had, or an excellent option given the price. 4 stars: Good food, a restaurant I look forward to trying again. 3 stars: Good food, a restaurant that I am indifferent to. 2 stars: Below average experience, will not go again. 1 stars: This restaurant should be closed.
Omg Tam Tam was fantastic. The food was phenomenal and tasted so fresh! I forgot our servers name but she's was wonderful. We meant to take pictures of the food we ordered but unfortunately the camera did not eat first.. Only picture i got was of the wings which were so crispy. Still talking about them. Only error on our part was not making a reservation :/
For Miami Spice each year, I typically aim to pick a restaurant that I've both never tried before and that's Michelin-rated. Tam Tam satisfied both, and I now understand what all the fuss is about. Every dish my friend and I ordered was so flavorful, and the presentation was just as impeccable. My only hesitation in picking this spot initially was thinking it wouldn't be enough food, but boy was I wrong. We started with the scallops and steak tartare, which were both a slam dunk. I'm not a scallops person and I loved this dish! The coconut sauce it comes in gets an A++. The oysters were the one item we ordered off of the regular menu, and I'm glad we did. They were so different from any other type of oysters I'd tried before, which I think can be attributed to the salted duck egg hollandaise. The wings were so crispy and practically melt in your mouth. The branzino was very nicely done, but I was particularly obsessed with the goat curry. I had never tried goat before and was so glad my friend picked it. The curry sauce and noodles all came together to deliver a perfect dish. The desserts were also all stars. I'm not a cheesecake person but I definitely enjoyed their take on it--so different in a good way and not overly heavy. I'd never had black sesame ice cream before, and my taste buds were very happy campers. The service was also great - just be prepared to potentially sit at the bar, even if you have reservations. It's a hole in the wall spot and very popular. We went on a Sunday at 5:30 p.m., and it was packed. Diner vibes all the way. My only complaint, which has nothing to do with Tam Tam, is the area - Downtown Miami still looks like bombs were dropped on it as it continues to undergo a slow revitalization. Just know you're going for the restaurant and not the area haha. Tam Tam truly is a gem - go check 'em out!
I've wanted to try Tam Tam for a while now and it definitely lived up to the happy hour accolades! We started with some Thai basil margaritas and a yuzu strawberry spritz. The oysters and scallop crudo tasted both fresh and innovative, like those dishes hadn't travelled too far from the ocean. The mildly spicy wings were super crispy and likely my favorite bite. Our server was amazing, incredible nails, and served us quick in this cute colorful spot downtown. Would definitely come back to try their larger dishes!
The only reason this is 4 stars is because I didn't have a chance to eat at Tam Tam proper; this review is actually for the Lunar New Year festival block party they put together this last Sunday. I met up with a bunch of friends and we enjoyed the culinary & cultural offerings. Since I'm allergic to seafood, I was just able to taste the chicken yakoitori skewers which were made fresh and tasted delicious. I did get to indulge their liquor, with my favorite being the "ca phe sua da" coffee liqueur (Vietnamese coffee, condensed milk & whiskey). The Lucky Money - green tea infused gin - was another indulgence that I might've had once or twice as well as sake shots off the horse ice sculpture. The dragon show was fun to watch and the dancers were really talented. Definitely looking forward to this next year again!

Our dinner at Tâm Tâm can be summed up with two words: FLAVOR BOMB! But you know I can't stop at two words. Tâm Tâm was at the top of my list for Miami Spice foodie adventures, and with the annual event winding down* it was high time to get our fix in. I've had this Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant on my radar for quite sometime, but the dining stars hadn't quite aligned yet. However, last night was the night! This intimate lowkey dining spot was all a buzz on hump day. A reservation was a no-go for any civilized eating hour, but we managed to score a great table outside within 15 minutes of showing up during primetime. They do not have a liquor license but do have a comprehensive wine menu and some low/no-ABV cocktails. Unfortunately, the one I had my heart set on (Pathfinder with a Calamansi foam) was no longer on the menu, and our server said he did not recommend the Aplos Spicy Margarita which was the only other thing I was considering, and hubby is an Old Fashioned drinker, so we stuck with water. We both opted for the Miami Spice menu. They've priced it at $50 for dinner, but portions are notably smaller (halved) for at least the entrees (not sure about the apps and dessert). I started with the Scallop Pomelo Crudo. This light and refreshing dish had my tastebuds dancing with every bite. Hubby went for the Lotus Root Salad which I snagged a few bites of. If we return for a regular menu night, this will be a resounding yes. So bright and flavorful with a nice mix of textures. With the Miami Spice menu Tâm Tâm was also offering a complimentary duo of their signature house wings. I don't eat chicken so instead they brought me the shimeji mushrooms which I destroyed! No man mushroom left behind. I'm generally not a fan of dill but it works in this dish, playing up the seafood notes of the La Vong sauce. As for the wings? Hubby was in heaven. He said they were the best chicken wings he's ever had, and getting him to give more than a "good" or "okay" on a dish is a tall order, so that my friends is a rave review. I tried a little dip of the sauce and it was delicious. For entrees, my man went for the Lamb Wrap Situation, and I opted for the Grilled Sea Bass. The fish was cooked and deboned expertly. The fish sauce and citrus notes of the nuoc cham were at times a little overpowering, but I also was trying to avoid the carb hit of the white rice which would probably mellow it a bit. Other than that, the dish was great. The lamb wrap received a resounding thumbs up from my other half as he devoured the whole plate. For dessert we picked one of each, the cashew passionfruit cheesecake, and the seasonal dessert, a guava ice cream. The cheesecake was much thinner/smaller than I expected, but the flavors are so pronounced that a little goes a long way. It's not intended to be eaten together, but the sweetness of the guava ice cream pairs perfectly with the tartness of the passion fruit. We could have easily polished off a second round of the desserts, but this was a good stopping point. Overall, Tâm Tâm is as much a feast for the eyes as it is for the stomach and tastebuds. The plating is beautiful and thoughtful, and each ingredient is carefully considered to create a symphony of flavors on the tongue. Based on food alone, this is one of the best meals I've had in a long time, hence the 5 stars. But, if I'm being honest, the service? More of a 3 or 4 star. Getting water refills was hit or miss. The time between courses was sometimes awkwardly long. And we were never offered any tea or coffee (perphaps they don't make it?). Instead the server just dropped the check off. They were very busy that night, so it's likely a lack of time thing, but those little details are what really takes a meal to the next level. I'm still keeping the review at 5 stars though because the food is really the star of the show and the reason people are lining up to dine here in the middle of the week. *Miami Spice has officially been extended thru October this year however Tâm Tâm has yet to confirm if they'll continue participating. read more

This isn't my first time at Tam Tam, but it is my first time leaving a review! We visited during Miami Spice, which gave us the opportunity to try a few dishes we hadn't had before. We started with the root salad, which was super refreshing, with bright, citrusy flavors and a nice crunch. The bone marrow was also delicious, especially served on sourdough bread. The bread provided the perfect contrast to the richness and fattiness of the marrow. Of course, the wings will always be one of our favorites. The crispy exterior, garlic, and honey combination is pure perfection. Honestly, there's not much more I can say about them other than that they're a must-order. The lime they serve alongside them adds that perfect finishing touch! The scallops are another favorite of ours. The sauce is light, fresh, and incredibly flavorful, balancing the natural saltiness of the scallops beautifully. Every bite is mouthwatering. It's one of those dishes that keeps you coming back for more. One of our new discoveries this time was the branzino, and WOW! Easily one of the highlights of the meal. The sauce had a citrusy flavor with a little kick of heat that lingered just enough. The fish itself had a deliciously crispy exterior while remaining tender and flaky on the inside. We literally used our rice to soak up every last bit of that sauce. Absolutely incredible! I also have to mention the service, which is phenomenal. Everyone is incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and does a great job explaining the dishes, making recommendations based on your preferences and helping you decide what to order. I especially appreciate that when each dish arrives at the table, the staff takes the time to explain what's in it and how to enjoy it. Whether it's squeezing fresh lime over the wings or explaining how to combine different elements of a dish, those little details really elevate the entire dining experience. It's clear that the staff genuinely knows the food they're serving, and that makes such a difference. My only criticism would be the dessert. We tried the rice pudding this time, and we've previously had the vegan passion fruit cheesecake. Unfortunately, neither really stood out to us. I think dessert is the one area where the restaurant could improve. Overall, the food was fantastic, the service was outstanding, and we loved getting to try some new dishes. If they could elevate the dessert menu to match the quality of the savory dishes, this would easily be a five-star experience! read more

We were in Miami for the Lunar New Year block party hosted by Tam Tam. Great vibe and energy with Dj, Live band and Dragon Dance show. We enjoyed the sampler for the event which was the Pho and their famous Tam Tam chicken wings. These wings were so yummy crispy with the fish sauce caramel, garlic, cilantro and lime. Each order had four chicken wings. The Pho broth was really good but the noodles were a bit soggy. We ordered from a walk up window after making a long line to try these wings. Well worth it and we were lucky as they ran out of wings a few minutes after we ordered ours. Great festival and would love to attend again next year! read more

Amazing experience at Tâm Tâm downtown! We had Lotus root salad, Scallop crudo, Shimeji mushrooms and Lamb wraps but vegetarian sub with grilled tofu. Delish ! finished with vegan cheesecake that was out of this world. Our server was Nikkie and he was phenomenal ! Definitely will come back. read more
My wife managed to get us a reservation here during our trip to Miami and we had an amazing time. Tam tam is a modern restaurant serving a fairly small menu of dishes bursting with flavours of Vietnam. The majority of their menu are small appetizers for sharing, with just a couple of larger plates as shareable mains. They also have a selection of beverages with and without alcohol. For our visit, we tried their: * Scallop pomelo crudo - refreshing due to the citrus notes of the pomelo which is accented by the use of coconut milk. Scallops were fresh and sweet. * Shimeji mushroom - hearty appetizer with a fairly strong dill flavour; not overpowering but also not for everyone * Tam Tam wings - 5 large crispy split wings in a sweet and sticky caramel sauce. (So 2.5 whole wings, per order). Definitely suggest squeezing in the lime juice provided for an extra taste of Vietnam. My 6 year old loved.it so much we doubled up on the order :-) * Lamb wrap situation - it's more than your usual lettuce wrap! A deconstructed lamb wrap with lettuce, pineapple, cucumber, pickled radish, rice noodle patty, and the star ingredient - lamb pieces grilled on lemongrass. This dish will transport you directly to southeast Asia! * Also ordered a Vietnamese coffee. This was one that was a bit disappointing. They only had iced coffee and the coffee wasn't very strong at all. The service was attentive. We never had to wait long to get our server's attention and our waters were refilled regularly. Overall the whole family had a wonderful time and this restaurant gets 4.5 stars rounded up to 5! read more
We were able to snag an outdoor table for 2 on a busy weeknight at Michelin Bib Gourmand Tam Tam. The service was excellent! We enjoyed the scallop pomelo crudo with coconut milk (sour like Peruvian leche de Tigre) - it was beautifully creamy, aromatic, and bursted with citrus bites. The fish sauce caramel wings were delicious with freshly squeezed lime juice. Sticky, sweet, and umami. The lotus root salad with pork belly and crackers would have been better with more sour, spicy, aromatic notes! It felt a bit tamed down. Tam Tam's vibes and decor are awesome - make sure to check out their bathroom with karaoke and disco lights! read more

For a place known for their meat dishes they actually also had very good vegetarian options. The shimeji mushroom was an absolutely must try and the highlight of the night. Wings were delicious stayed crispy and sauce reminded me of my viet grandma's cooking. The scallop appetizer was incredible, im not a scallop person but those melted in my mouth delicious with the coconut cilantro lighting up my tastebuds. The lamb was good only other time i've had it was in vietnam, close to the authentic version. The dessert was super unique with corn coffee flan. It was delicious. I'm not used to elevated viet dishes, but these were pretty much a hit and brings back nostalgia. Yum yum yum. We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday and I'm so glad we did. We initially weren't able to get a reservation - but when I looked that morning, I was able to grab one for right when they open - and I'm glad I did, as there was already a line out the door and the spot is a bit small. We tried a variety of things on the menu - but I keep dreaming of that delicious salad and the scallops - I wanted to drink the sauce the scallops came in. The fried chicken and ribs were also good - my husband certainly loved them. Service was fantastic - they do a great job of explaining each dish and the different components, and they were all appropriately spaced out, so we never felt rushed, our table was never too full with plates, but we never felt we were left waiting long for the next course. read more

Favorite dinner in Miami so far. Michelin bib gourmand recs are sometimes hit or miss but every one of these dishes was a hit! All of the flavors, sauces, and textures were spot on. What we ordered: *Grilled oysters (9.5/10) - the salted duck egg hollandaise on top was a deliciously unique treat *Scallop pomelo crudo (10/10) - its addictive, creamy coconut sauce with fresh scallop was the perfect contrast to the slightly crunchy, tart pomelo (similar to grapefruit). The addition of basil leaves enhanced the flavor of each bite. *Lotus root salad (9.2/10) - not as much of a life changing flavor palate as the previous two dishes, probably since there wasn't a main sauce which Tam Tam seems to do very well! Loved the crunchiness of each bite and variety of ingredients. Wish there were more of the shrimp chips (comes with 4). *Tam Tam Wings (9.2/10) - fried well, and the fish sauce caramel was delicious but just a little too salty for my liking. Our wing sizes seemed smaller than photos of other people's wings as well. The background music choice was interesting; instrumental mainstream pop, which interrupted the experience a bit in my opinion. Definitely make a reservation in advance, as the restaurant filled up quickly after opening. As someone who doesn't usually frequent downtown, Tam Tam is 3/4 times the reason why you'll find me in the area. From the second you drive by, you can sense that this is going to be an experience like no other. From their simple outdoor sitting, to the vibrancy you can feel even through the windows, to the welcoming energy the staff has; Tam Tam is a stellar experience from start to finish. You will normally find Tam himself in the kitchen adding his touch to every plate and his husband Harrison ensuring your experience is top tier, truly immersing you in what feels like their version of an elevated at home one of a kind Vietnamese dinner. Settle in, try one of their frozen drinks or their unique selections of wines (I recommend the Big Salt, it's one of my favorites) and order without holding back because you're going to want to try as many plates as possible. The highlights undoubtedly are their Tamarind Glazed Pork Ribs and the Tam Tam wings. Although you've tried these kinds of dishes many times before, you haven't tried them Tam Tam's way and they will immediately race to the top of your favorites. Other standouts are the Lotus Root Salad, the Steak Taratar, and truly I'm gonna stop here because if I keep going I could list the whole menu. Needless to say, Tam Tam is one of the best dinner experiences Miami has to offer. read more

Coolest spot you have to check out. Food has so much flavor, the place is super cute and the workers are sweet. Highly recommend checking out the bathroom! The wings are to die for. Yummy!!! Frog legs, uncomfortable outdoor chairs/tables, and unique people watching were my standouts from this meal. While servers tried to accommodate a late reservation with drinks in the waiting area, I was disappointed by the outdoor seating options. The food here is unique, exquisite and worth the stop in. But dress like a night in Wynwood or face sweating through your meal. read more

Oh my God this food is delicious but I gotta give it to the chicken wings. Wow the best I've ever had. Our waitress was very friendly very helpful for us being the first time they're in a group. She gave us a lot of pointers on how to order and recommended some of her favorites. The place is very nice. I was expecting more from the hype and the Michelin guide but honestly was not impressed. I came with a friend and we were 5 minutes late to the reservation due to the location being weird that if you miss it, you need to make a long circle back to the restaurant then park. For 5 minutes they did not hold our table and we had to sit in the bar. The waiter was very helpful and the food was good, but not out of this world. The bathroom was the coolest part with a karaoke screen and music inside, and I think the scallops were the best part. read more

Walked in with no reservations on a Thursday. They luckily had a table for 2 inside. The place gives a cozy hidden gem vibe. The service was very very good. Extremely attentive. Refills on drinks were quick and super friendly. My favorite dish was the scallops. AMAZING! The beef tartar was very high up there as well. A lot of flavor and I couldn't stop eating. My least favorite was the chicken wings. I'm not sure if the oil they used was old but it was definitely off. My least favorite dish. Other than that, cool spot! read more
Tam-tam in Miami is that spot everyone's trying to get into -- tiny place, big vibes. Definitely make a reservation unless you enjoy waiting and people-watching for an hour . Staff gets an A+ for kindness -- even with our delayed flight chaos, they still found us a table (legends!). The chicken slapped at first bite but got a bit strong after a few; the lamb wrap was solid but could use more oomph. Still, fun night, good food, great energy. read more
Incredible from start to finish. Great, attentive service. The food definitely lived up to the hype. To start off the scallop crudo was a perfectly synchronized combination of flavors that let us know we were in for a treat. Unlike other crudos, it was not limey but had a perfect blend between the savory crema and aromatic herbs. Next, the crunchy glass chicken wings were a wonderful blend of tangy, sweet, and savory. For me, the star of the show was the grilled prawns paired with a spicy sauce. Next time I will be ordering a plate just for myself. The goat curry with noodles was a great finish and very filling. I'm not sure if I'm being played by these other reviews or if I'm the problem, but I honestly did not think the food here was the "best food I've ever had"... Don't get me wrong, the ambiance is great and the vibes are calm and welcoming. The service was great. I was impressed with the prices and was excited for the food, considering this place has a Michelin rating. We got the goat curry, wings, and jungle steak tartare. The jungle steak tartare was really good and had a hint of sweetness. The wings had a really good crisp and great flavor, also a bit sweet. The goat curry was what disappointed me. I was expecting very flavorful curry, but it was much more bland and the goat was dry. I'm not saying the food was bad by any means. It was good; I just don't think it's as amazing as everyone describes, and my hopes were higher considering the ratings. I'm glad we tried it, but I probably will not return for more. read more
