The place was pretty empty .. only one other table there and the service was slow and inattentive. I ordered the pork belly flatbread, and it literally came out burnt. I'm honestly not sure how they had the nerve to serve it when it was completely black. Nice and personal wine bar out in the suburban neighborhood of west Kendall. Perfect for date night or sipping wines with a small group of friends. Depending on the night you find live music, a DJ, game night or another event. They have a solid selection of wine and a few beers as well. They also have great bites from pizza to a charcuterie board that pair well with wine. The servers are nice but aren't the most attentive. I have seen this place on Yelp for a while and have wanted to go but never made it over. A friend of mine has a band who was putting on a life performance on a Thursday evening. The band is called group therapy and they have a standing position once a month. As we entered, we were greeted by the owner who helped us find seating. We decided to order the Spanish charcuterie, board meatballs, empanadas, and a bottle of wine. Everything was really good. The empanadas had different flavors than traditional, but they were delicious. Everything felt like it was fresh and made to order. The location is very cool not what I was expecting. A cozy, intimate wine bar perfect for a fun night out. We enjoyed a couple of cheese boards, a pepperoni flatbread, and, of course, wine. We ordered the French cheese board and it came with a cute eiffel tower replica which added to the board decor. Although the cheese board and wine were good (came with jam, grapes, etc), the flatbread wasn't that great. I've been to this establishment before for a wine tasting event but this time I came for a friend's birthday celebration. They reserved an area of the establishment for the event. The staff placed at each table beef empanadas at the beginning of the event with an amazing sauce. The empanadas were warm and good. They also had pizza, sliders, meatballs and charcuterie boards for us to eat from and everything was delicious. The pizza that stood out was the one with dates. It was sweet and savory. Towards the end, the staff placed popcorn at each table. Every time I went to the bar to get wine, the staff ensured they provided the drinks right away. The staff also ensured the tables were kept neat as they picked up plates and glasses throughout the night. The establishment was lively with the country singer and DJ. Went here for a quick appetizer while we were waiting for for a table at Don Chepe's. The place is very cute and has a great ambiance for a relaxed night. The wine selection is great, and some of the more basic tapas are good. We had a birria flat bread which we didn't much care for, but the pretzel, cheeses, and meats were all good. When we came in, we were asked if we were there for the comedy show. When we said we just wanted food, they told us that they were fully booked for the show, but if we could eat in an hour we could come in. And when it came out I was so surprised by how small it was considering the price. Four tiny slices took us about 10 minutes to eat. Ok , we've been here a few times since we discovered this spot cause we absolutely LOVE it. Whether it's a date night, girls night, celebration, wind down after work, or doesn't matter , just get your butts there . The ambiance is very nice , the crowd is great, service above great (it's a family owned business , my favorite type of businesses and they all actually engage with you) And now the food, close your eyes , point at something and just order it . I figured that would be a great way to finish off my list. From the minute I arrived, I knew I was in the right place, the ambiance said Christmas, I was greeted by the owner who made me feel at home and proceeded to assist me personally in finding just the right wine for everyone on my list, not to mention some samples along the way. We tried this place for the first time and before we got in my husband tells me: I hope they don't have Andy live music or anything like that because I'd like to have a mellow time where we can talk. We came for the first time for their monthly wine tasting and granted, they were pretty busy because of this but there were a couple of things that happened during my visit that are unforgivable and for those reasons I will not be returning. For me, the litmus test for any bar or restaurant is water serving. For something like a wine tasting, I shouldn't even have to ask for water. After the 3rd glass of wine, I was pretty parched. I was sitting at the bar and waited for someone to even acknowledge me, make eye contact, anything. After several minutes, someone finally did. I asked the gentleman for a glass of water and he acknowledged me but then promptly walked away to the other side of the bar and ignored my request. Several minutes passed and I asked someone else for water, same thing happened. They acknowledged me and heard my request, but immediately ignored me and walked away. On top of that, we had ONE wine glass for several samples of wine, so after I was done with the red wine, they would pour the white wine and mix it with whatever was left of three red wine. Unacceptable. To bookend my visit, I was already pretty irritated and wanted to leave but no one came to ask how we were doing or if we needed anything. We asked for the check and got acknowledged, but again were promptly ignored. The person we asked wasn't even going anything but just standing around. Do these people have extremely short term memory loss? Are they hard of hearing? I mean what the hell? Overall, it was a disappointing experience and I'd rather spend my money on a place that will take care of basics like this without me having to ask. read more
