Great little place! Great selection of wines. The right selection of small plates to go with the wine. Everything and everyone was supper attentive. Definitely recommend and will be back often. Hidden gem in west Kendall.

I've been wanting to try Mellow Grapes Wine Bar since it's so close to home and I'd heard such good things, but unfortunately, I was kinda disappointed. The place was pretty empty .. only one other table there and the service was slow and inattentive. I ordered the pork belly flatbread, and it literally came out burnt. I'm honestly not sure how they had the nerve to serve it when it was completely black. For a spot that has so much potential and a nice setup, this experience definitely missed the mark , not sure if we came at a bad time an hour before closing or what it was but hopefully this is not their norm

I have seen this place on Yelp for a while and have wanted to go but never made it over. A friend of mine has a band who was putting on a life performance on a Thursday evening. The band is called group therapy and they have a standing position once a month. As we entered, we were greeted by the owner who helped us find seating. We decided to order the Spanish charcuterie, board meatballs, empanadas, and a bottle of wine. Everything was really good. The empanadas had different flavors than traditional, but they were delicious. Everything felt like it was fresh and made to order. The location is very cool not what I was expecting. The decor is nice. We were able to still have an intimate setting with the music playing and enjoyed ourselves. Definitely going back. Can't wait to try more things on the menu.

A cozy, intimate wine bar perfect for a fun night out. We enjoyed a couple of cheese boards, a pepperoni flatbread, and, of course, wine. We ordered the French cheese board and it came with a cute eiffel tower replica which added to the board decor. Although the cheese board and wine were good (came with jam, grapes, etc), the flatbread wasn't that great. There was a DJ playing on the night we went, who added a lively energy. Per their IG, they have a lot of events which I might come back to experience one.

Pig and fig flatbread was delicious. Must try with some wine.

Alexandra R.

First time at this place was very nice. The spot is basically to have some wine with good food and you got a perfect date night. I also had a pig and fig flat breads and it was delicious just wish I saw more argula and prosciutto. The fig was delicious. I would have it again definitely.

Cat G.

I guess the place was nice and wine a decent wine selection but I honestly feel completely ripped off especially with the tiny "board" for $26.95 I stand corrected, it's 26.95 which is but it's the same principle. Here's what you get (see photo): Four thin slices of prosciutto or jamón ibérico, 4 slices of fuet, 4 razor thin slices of manchego cheese a few grapes and olives are STILL not 26.95 - especially because it's a neighborhood spot. The manager just replied and I can't Reply back but this "board" at most should be $15 and you will still make a handsome profit. We all know the costs and understand you are running a business but C'mon now...

I've been to this establishment before for a wine tasting event but this time I came for a friend's birthday celebration. They reserved an area of the establishment for the event. The staff placed at each table beef empanadas at the beginning of the event with an amazing sauce. The empanadas were warm and good. They also had pizza, sliders, meatballs and charcuterie boards for us to eat from and everything was delicious. The pizza that stood out was the one with dates. It was sweet and savory. Towards the end, the staff placed popcorn at each table. Every time I went to the bar to get wine, the staff ensured they provided the drinks right away. The staff also ensured the tables were kept neat as they picked up plates and glasses throughout the night. The establishment was lively with the country singer and DJ. This event made me realize that this is a great venue to celebrate any big event. I wished I would have taken pictures of the food provided but I had too much fun enjoying the night.

Place had a great ambience. Intimate but very lovely. There was a dj playing music. Food wasn't great. Garbanzos were very dry and meatballs didn't have much flavor. Service was poor. Waiter didn't offer us water and came to our table twice in a 2 hour period we were there. Overall good but don't think i will be back.

Tamara K.

When we came in, we were asked if we were there for the comedy show. When we said we just wanted food, they told us that they were fully booked for the show, but if we could eat in an hour we could come in. I felt they were a little rude the way they said it and didn't feel welcomed at all. We were only two people, so not even a big party. We decided on just a flatbread to share. And when it came out I was so surprised by how small it was considering the price. Four tiny slices took us about 10 minutes to eat. We waited longer for them to bring us the check than anything else. Overall, the vibes were fun, and the flatbread was good, but definitely overpriced.

Caterina G.

Went here for a quick appetizer while we were waiting for for a table at Don Chepe's. The place is very cute and has a great ambiance for a relaxed night. The wine selection is great, and some of the more basic tapas are good. We had a birria flat bread which we didn't much care for, but the pretzel, cheeses, and meats were all good. I will be back on a night when I want a chill place to hangout.

This place is adorable!! Came in for a couples date night and we had such a great time! The staff is absolutely wonderful and and made such amazing wine recommendations, we ended up having a bottle of wine that was absolutely delicious! The staff is also so knowledgeable and attentive, I was so impressed with our service! Decor wise, this place is so intimate while also being very inviting! Plenty of tables for being a smaller spot and they even have back couches and bar seating! Very cute interior for pictures and a huge chalk board filled with all the activity they have going on! Lastly the food and wine! Like I said the bottle we were recommended was absolutely delicious and their menu has plenty of price points to meet everyone's budget! Food wise we had a charcuterie board and some meatballs which were both delicious! The board was so aesthetically presented, perfect for pictures!! To end a great night we devoured their bread pudding! A full 5 stars for this little hidden gem!

This place is amazing! The staff and owners are so wonderful. They make you feel so welcome. Their selection of wine is incredible. I love trying something new each time I go. Ask for Javier when you go! He is super friendly and gives the best recommendations for different wines on their list. The food pairs perfectly with their wine and they also have a great selection of craft beers. My favorite is their Pigs and Fig flatbread and their charcuterie boards. There is something for everyone. It's a super cute place to come with friends or date nights. It's a true gem here in Kendall!

Pigs and Figs and pork belly flatbread delicious

Excellent service and great tasting food. Best Cuban sandwich we have ever tried. It's not on the menu yet but it's a must have. Ask for the Papo. It's a pork belly Cuban sandwich. Fire if you ask me. They also have a pork belly flat bread which is amazing. The wine is great and they have a great selection. The tapas are good as well. They have three different types of charcuterie boards a Spanish one, Italian and French. The meatballs are tasty. Ambiance is awesome and it's a small friendly venue. The desserts are all excellent from the tea leches to the crème brûlée. They have a great selection of beers as well. Awesome place to hang out and have drinks or a romantic night of wine and tapas. read more

This little local neighborhood gem is fantastic! I would go to Vacillate quite often and was sad to hear they were closing as the owners were pretty nice but the new ownership has transformed this little great wine and beer bar for the better! ! I love that they are doing weekly and monthly events. Whether it's a comedy show, wine tasting, prohibition night, moms nights out, Trivia, you name it! They are really making themselves known in west Kendall and I hope they stick around to a long time! Truffle popcorn is amazing! So are the meatballs and baked Brie! Give this place a try if you are in the area and they will make you feel like family! Recently spent my wife's birthday here! We will continue to be regulars thanks Mellow Grapes read more

Mellow grapes is a cute little wine bar in west Kendall which is perfect if you want to stay close to home. My friends and I came for a wine tasting night and got to try different wines. I went last weekend with my husband and we were SO impressed with everything... the food, the service, the vibes...were all amazing. We sat at the bar and ordered a bottle of wine, a charcuterie board and a delicious fig and cheese flatbread. It was so fun watching them make our food in front of us! Our server recommended the tres leches and I can honestly say it was the best tres leches I have ever had... my husband and I were fighting over the last bite. I came here for the first time today and I can't believe it's only been open for just a few weeks, the service was amazing! From start to finish the vibes were great, everyone was very friendly and the suggestions given by our server were spot on for drinks and food. The food was not only delicious but a spin on classics-the flan flight was unique because not only have I never had a dessert flight like this but the flavors were also amazing (original, chocolate, coconut, coffee). My favorite was the coffee flan! Definitely a must try in the neighborhood and this could easily be an after work happy hour spot, girls night, or date night. I will definitely come back and would highly recommend to family and friends. Cheers to a new local favorite. read more

Mellow Grapes, the new gem of Kendall. The moment I walked in I already felt a smile across my face. I ordered a bottle of wine to share with my lovely wife, the Spanish charcuterie board that I stuffed my face with over the next hour, then later in the evening the truffle popcorn and the tres leches at the request of my wife. I would never order tres leches on my own, but sweet Mary it was amazing. In a room full of strangers for those 3 hours, I felt at home. 2 different strangers were celebrating birthdays and I sang along as if they were my favorite cousin. I'd heard about Magie for a while from friends in the natural wine scene in Orlando and had to visit while in town. There is convenient (although somewhat limited) parking just to the side of the building, and entering feels like you just entered your cool friend's house. We almost sat inside on a couple of sofas, but opted to brave the humid Miami heat on the back porch/terrace since they were playing the World Cup game on a projection screen. The back is huge and has several sitting areas, including on an elevated porch with fans, as well as couches and bistro tables set up on the pavers down below. There is foliage everywhere and you feel transported (you'd have no clue this business was on a busy road). We got a couple of bottles of wine from their fridges, along with a smattering of shareable dishes from the kitchen (ordered inside). Everything was delightful and we were loving life (again- even in the humid summer heat!). I'd definitely return and enjoy the interior next time. You can also build your own charcuterie and they have a few hot food options. I tried the croquetas and they were amazing! Service is pretty straightforward since it's self service, and if you order food you pick it up from the window when it's ready. Such a cute, comfortable spot that I'll continue coming back to.

It is truly fine dining in an…read moreelegant, but not overly opulent setting that is absolutely perfect for those special occasions when you seek a perfect experience, whether it be for a celebration or a quiet evening out with family, friends, or someone special whom you love. Admittedly I have only been here a couple of times, but they wow me each and every visit. And with all of the choices in Miami, that is not easy to do. Tonight we came by to celebrate a career milestone. Just me, my wife, and my very well behaved service animal, who reluctantly stayed under the table where she is supposed to be despite the temptation of all the wonderful smells in the room. Huge call out to our waitress Amanda. What a superstar. She made us feel important every second of the meal. Her service was perfect, but her attitude and her smile represented the restaurant well. She is an asset that I hope that they treasure as much as we did. Being Miami Spice time, I ordered from that menu and chose the reserve menu's crispy spicy tuna, appetizer, ribeye steak, and Belgian chocolate brownie. My wife chose the pasta Bolognese. I also ordered the Parker house pull apart bread and a potato since the full course meal did not seem to come with a side which I found strange. The appetizer was mouthwatering good. The Belgian chocolate brownie was exceptional. However, I would be disingenuous if I said that I chose wisely with the main course. Being a 16 ounce steak, it was sliced relatively thin as expected, but what they refer to as an "au jus" seem to have the taste of a reduction and literally drowned out the flavor of the meat. It did appear to be cooked perfectly, but having had the exceptional filet mignon here I would be more likely to choose that again next time. It also came with a glass of wine, which they graciously upgraded for me based on my tastes, which really smooth out the meal for me. I always enjoy the bread here and the loaded baked potato was quite a sight to see and was so large. I took home half of it. Interestingly, the highlight of the meal may have been the Papardelle Bolognese. This was a very generous order of what is probably the best Bolognese pasta dish I have ever eaten. My wife has a small appetite, so I was happy to help her out. I was also happy that enough was left that I had it for lunch the next day and liked it just as much. So if this is something you like, do not skip right past it on the menu. It is superb. The only other criticism I have is that they do have a posted dress code, which is not particularly restrictive, but does help to maintain the ambience of elegance. Part of that is no ball caps. I understand they do not want to embarrass patrons by asking them to remove their ball caps, but the table sitting next to us had two men wearing them. It does take away from the vibe, so when you visi, even if the restaurant staff is not going to embarrass you and ask you to remove them, please try to observe these very easy to follow guidelines so that we may all have that wonderful fine dining experience. And si, despite the fact that I was not completely thrilled with my steak, in all honesty I cannot give this restaurant anything less than five stars. Yes in the end it's all about the food, but this was really not a case of the food not being good, it just was not served in a way that I like it. I will still be back and most likely will order the filet mignon or the short rib, which is what I've had on prior visits and both were exceptional. Or perhaps that wonderful Bolognese. I love this place and highly recommend it.

Unfortunately, my experience was highly disappointing. I visited on a Friday night and it didn't deliver the wine bar or speakeasy vibe it advertises. They were showing sports on the TV, and the music was so loud that I couldn't even hear my partner across the table from me. Between the TVs and the volume, it felt more like a sports bar than a cozy wine spot. The space itself also took away from the ambiance. There are large windows where you can clearly see outside and everyone can see in, and the lighting was extremely bright. For a nighttime setting, it lacked any warmth or cozy, intimate feel. Because of this, our date was cut short and we left shortly after arriving. We each ordered a glass of wine (I can't remember the name), and to be fair, the wine was actually pretty good--they definitely got that part right. However, the food was another letdown. We ordered a couple of bites, and both my partner and I agreed that they tasted like ready-made items. The hummus was especially underwhelming--I've had better hummus from Publix. We also ordered the brie, which came with only a small handful of crackers, and the brie itself wasn't melty at all, which was disappointing. Overall, I really wanted to love this place. It has a good location and a lot of potential to be something great, but unfortunately, it's just not there yet. We returned a few nights later after having dinner at nearby Flemings, were seated right away, given menus and we each ordered a glass of wine. After our wine was poured, we were basically forgotten about and we kind of felt like outsiders here, because most everyone at the bar and seated at 2 or 3 of the tables all seemed to know each other: The guy who'd been our server sat down at a table and ate/drank with the woman there. The guys seated at the bar grabbed glasses and served wine to women sitting at the other 2 stools, but there didn't seem to be any staff simply checking on the rest of us. The one employee who did later check in on some dining patrons was walking around with his 1/2 finished glass of wine in hand while doing so. Needless to say, our 2 visits here were both a bit odd. Service, at least for us was badly lacking, and compared to another wine bar and a few restaurants we patronize in this general area, the pours we were given here at Sospiro were a bit stingy. Sad, too, as we really enjoy good wine spots and were hoping we'd found a solid one in Sospiro. Not the case, at least in our experience.

Unfortunately, today was a very different experience. It took about five minutes for anyone to acknowledge us, even though the bar wasn't busy. I ordered an Old Cuban Old Fashioned, one of my favorites, and was surprised to see the bartender use his hands instead of tongs to put the ice into the glass. I ended up sending the drink back because the glass was dirty. The second drink was made by another bartender, and again, I noticed him using his hands instead of tongs to handle the ice. The food was still great, but after today's experience, I'll definitely be paying much closer attention to how my drinks are prepared. I've always had a great experience at Finka, which is why today was especially disappointing. I hope this was just an off day and not a change in their usual standards.

I've been craving some Corbett's. I gotta go back soon.
