Tried Lung Yai Thai Tapas in Little Havana -- really cool spot. It feels like eating street food in Thailand, which makes the whole experience fun and different. Love the concept. The food is great and pretty legit if you're craving real Thai flavors. There's usually a wait, but the line moves fast so it's not a big deal. Service was mixed -- some staff weren't very friendly, but our waiter was great and took good care of us. One thing to know: you can only order once, so plan your dishes ahead. Overall, a solid spot and worth checking out.

Great Thai food in this Miami "desert" of Thai food.. if you know you know. I'm sorry it took me this long to try it, I'll be back. Pork Dumplings - lovely/juicy Pork Belly - exactly as they should be Papaya Salad - fresh and one pepper is definitely hot enough for me ha ha Green Curry w/ chicken - so wonderful, will always always order Massaman Curry w/ beef - so delicious, I didn't order because I prefer w/ sweet potato and menu reads just potato.. it is sweet potato - - I got medium spicy, I like the heat to start low and build until I sweat.. medium is good, spicy is too much for me. If they had a 5 pepper system I could go from 3-Medium to 4 but not to 5-Spicy. My dinner companion is British and can handle spicy, he thought Spicy was hot but would ask for hotter next time. Service was great, and water glasses were refilled every time he walked by. Adorable street cafe vibe too.

I've been coming here for years, and there's a reason there's usually a wait.... it's def worth it. I always start with the papaya salad. It's fresh, light, slightly sweet, and really refreshing. honestly the perfect salad starter that doesn't feel heavy. I've also ordered the wings here. They're big and perfectly fried and have a great crunch. They are pretty plain on their own and I do wish they were seasoned a bit more since you add the sauce yourself by dipping. I'm a total chicken fried rice fanatic anytime I order Asian food, and I love it here. It's flavorful but light and doesn't leave you feeling overly full. I also really like the Pad! The red and green curries are also pretty good and worth trying. I love coming back and ordering different things, and honestly everything I've tried has been solid. Service is fast, but because it's usually busy, you need to order everything at once, you can't add or reorder later. They also don't take reservations.

This is, without a doubt, one of the best authentic Thai places you will ever try. Ever. But anyone who goes for the first time can use some preambled tips to be prepared for how unique of an experience this is. Primarily, this place has some questionable customer service. From the fact that you can only order once (they are extremely strict about this) to how evident it is that they're attempting to rotate their tables as quickly as possible, none of these very clearly unusual characteristics are able to overshadow how unbelievably delicious the food is, and that is saying a lot (also, kep in mind that the seating area is pretty much on what can only be described as a hallway so the tables are very limited and on busy hours you can expect to make a line). Every plate outshines everything else Lung Yai comes with, and like a cinematic toxic relationship, it is even capable of making you fall in love with how unique the experience as a whole can be. I look forward to bringing new people to try this place to see the process of annoyance with the staff turn into pure appreciation as they finish every plate leaving no trace of food behind, usually ending with some sort of statement along the lines of "that was so worth it". Having its drawbacks only highlights how insanely delicious the food truly is. If you only get a chance to order one thing, order the Tom Ka soup to truly give your taste buds an experience unlike any other, perfect for lunch or dinner.

Thai food is one of my top two food choices! Since moving to Miami, I've been on a search for good Thai food. I've heard about Lung Yai, and was intrigued about the ordering everything once. I thought it must be good!! Tom Kha was pretty bland. Duck Basil was good hot- don't eat it cold. I should have known when they didn't even ask how spicy I wanted my food- it was a bad sign. Friends all were just ok with their orders. Overall, it wasn't terrible, but, not good enough to make me visit again. Sorry.

    Massaman Curry with chicken

Continues to be one of my favorite Thai spots in Miami. My go-to is always the massaman chicken curry -- love the flavors. This little hole-in-the-wall has come such a long way over the years, but it still has that same small, busy kitchen and the same amazing flavor. They are super chic with mostly outdoor seating and a bar section. Honestly, I'm kind of glad they haven't scaled up too much, because sometimes quality gets lost when places get bigger, and this spot has kept theirs consistent. Service is always fast and efficient, and the food comes out quickly. Just a heads-up: they're very straight to the point -- don't expect lots of small talk, and you can only order once. So make sure you place your full order, including any to-go items, the first time around. Still one of the most reliable and delicious Thai restaurants in Miami!

Had to unfairly give this a 4 out of 5 because I literally just came back from my annual trip to Thailand and there is just something about those Thai ingredients that just hit different in the motherland. HOWEVER, I will say this is the best local Thai spot I've found here in Miami. There is always a small wait because it really is that good but once you're up for a turn, it's like eating down a Thai street. Nothing too fancy, just a few tables and some of the most popular dishes from Thailand. To keep the crowds moving and to give everyone a chance to eat, you only get one shot to order your food, so come ready because if you forget to order something (except another Singha) or are craving more, you will just have to wait until next time. Service is quick and friendly and they are giving you the Thai feel with all the smiles and a background of Thai music in the TV screen. We decided to have a little of everything this time. From dumplings to papaya salad, fried mushrooms and chicken wings. The appetizers were great. Crab fried rice, Panang curry, pad Thai and my personal favorite, Khao Soi were all incredible for our mains. I will say if you're a fan of true Thai spice, you need to ask them ahead for your spice level or it will come out without any. That would be my only critique but I understand most everyone stateside is used to that heat. I also missed the tray of sauces that usually comes table side with a Pad Thai like the chili, sugar, fish oil, etc. Those would be nice touches to round out the experience. Khao Soi is my all time favorite Northern Thai dish and Thai is the first place to come close to the flavors of actual Thailand. Only critique here is I prefer the authentic chicken on a bone rather than pieces of breast meat scattered throughout. All in all it was a great time. Maybe next visit they will add some mango rice to the menu for a well rounded experience. Give this place a try if you haven't already!

Hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Miami. It is a no frills, but lot's of flavor establishment. First of all, if you are coming with a big group be prepared to wait because there are only one or two big tables. They are on door dash and take pick up orders. Second, they only let you order one time, so (they let us order drinks before food). Now the food. The wings are good: perfectly cooked and very well seasoned. They have alot of flavor and are perfectly cripsy. Papaya salad: really delicious, it is a bit on the smaller side Khao Soi: What keeps me coming back. It is such an amazing curry. It feels like a nice hug. They put these fried noodles. My favorite protein is shrimp.

Ten out of ten! Excellent authentic Thai in Miami. They definitely live up to the Michelin recognition! Amazing food and service. This has become a new fave and I can't wait to get back to Miami. I dined here once and ordered to go once on my trip. So good. Only downside is the place is extremely small and they only let your order once in order for them to get people in and out since they are so popular but yet so small. Highly recommend

I always come here, its the best whole in the wall restaurant. The best thai food youll ever have. This restaurant is a one time order so we tried a few things the first times we went until now we order our favorites. The service is nice and quick and theres always good music going on.

Finally I was able to try this place and it's definitely worth all the hype. I was seated right away since there was no line in a Tuesday night. The waitress quickly greeted me and warned me that I only get once chance to input my order. As the night progressed the restaurant got busy. The restaurant isn't fancy and these music videos playing in the background. But the food is amazing and that's why they received a Michelin recognition. The duck salad was a perfect balance of citrus and fried duck. I'm still thinking of it. The steam dumplings were my second favorite starter dish. The pad Thai was delicious but the pad see ewe was so so flavorful that I couldn't stop eating. I will definitely be back to try other dishes.

Hello fellow Yelpers! Time for another review, and I'm beyond excited for this one. First of all, I want to give you a little overview of Lung Yai Thai Tapas. It was mentioned in the Michelin Guide, so you know the food is out of this world. I went with a group of friends, and we had several dishes. For me, I had yum ped, a delicious duck dish with a savory sweet and sour flavor, and khao soi, a sweet, creamy curry egg noodle dish, rich in flavor, where you can choose your level of spiciness. My friends had tom kha with shrimp, another creamy soup that tasted just like my native coconut milk seafood soup from Nicaragua with a Thai twist, and baby back ribs with a tangy, spicy, sweet dipping sauce. They also tried neua nam tok, a beef salad dish which was similar to my yum ped. All are dishes I would recommend and try again. Just note, you only have the moment your server takes your order the first time to order all the food you want, but you can order drinks as much as you like. The service was also amazing. We had our server and busser coming to check on us and refilling our water whenever we were done with a plate or needed a refreshment, which was very pleasant. We even got to share our hobby of opening Pokémon cards with them, and they shared their own fondness for collecting things, so it was a nice connection. And the ambiance? What can I say, it was a pretty small, simple restaurant located right before Starbucks in a regular building--a "fox in the hole" as some people might call it. They had Thai music playing, and it felt very traditional in a sense. Some might not like it, but I loved it, especially being from Little Havana and being born and raised here. It's been a spot I've always wanted to try, and I wasn't disappointed. I really suggest checking them out; you won't be disappointed at all. They have options for everyone, so feel free to check them out.

Authentic Thai food! Be prepared to order eat and pay. Food is tapas style so smaller portion but super cheap so order away but you only get one order so make it count. The chef recommended items are listed for a reason. Khao soi and beef salad are 100% recommended!

There were only a couple group of customers when we ate here so it was quiet. The server was quite friendly, and walked us through the menu patiently. It's not a long list of menu selections, and each tapa dish was small portion as expected and a bit pricy (normal for Miami though). We had three orders of the side breads coz they were so crispy and flavourful. For tapas, we also tried the warm salad with eggplant and red pepper which was soft and had an interesting taste. The pork cheek was tender and flavourful, so we placed an extra order of it. Ibreico ham was also a must try (portion was ok). Artichoke exceeded my expectations. Usually I'm not a big fan of this vegetable, but I liked the sweet and sour taste offered at this restaurant. Overall, it's a great dining experience. Expect $100+ CAD/$70+ USD per person.
