We had the crab wontons, which were yummy and you could taste the crab. Daughter had the California Roll and she gave it a "4". We had Scarlett roll, the Big Bang roll, the Godfather roll, and the Gangnam Style roll. The service was great at the time I got there with my date we were the only ones there but the server was attentive and lively which made the experience very fun. The food was also very delicious, I got the pork ramen which was yummmyyy and great portion size. Located in the carriage house condos there's no signs on the outside telling anyone that this place even exists. Only found it because of yelp. It was pretty late and building doors were not opening. Pushed the buzzer and the opened. The lady at the front desk pointed us towards the restaurant. It was cozy and inviting. We ordered sushi boat for 2, fried pork gyoza, spicy sashimi salad, chicken fried rice and chicken teriyaki, and tuna love roll. Everything was delicious and well prepared. Food came amazingly fast. Absolutely loved this sushi spot. We ordered the tuna, yellowtail, and spicy tuna, and everything was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The quality of the fish really stood out. I wish I would have discovered this little sushi place a while ago. Located inside the Carriage House condo. No problem they valet your car and if you validate it at the restaurant it's less than $5. Amazing! Off to the right of the lobby you will find Hoshi With multiple seating areas and cute decor, you can find your best energy seating here. There's even a cute long table you can deserve for a big party. On to the food. The house ginger salad was very tasty and their ginger dressing is homemade. The dragon and spicy tuna rolls were delicious. Need to come back with more people and try things off their menu. Prices are resanonle for sushi on the beach. Quality is very good. I used to frequent this spot when it was a different sushi restaurant (Nakorn) and was disappointed to hear it had closed. I was eager to try Hoshi and see if it could live up to the amazing sushi prepared in that location by its predecessor. The ambiance hasn't changed. The decor is quaint and not particularly remarkable. The smell of incense greets you as you enter. Service is friendly and attentive. I decided to order a mix of hot food and sushi. The menu tempts me, offering two of my favorite cuisines- sushi and Thai. Unfortunately, the sushi left much to be desired. It wasn't bad by any means, but simply..boring. We asked for sides of spicy mayo and eel sauce which added some much needed oomph. But overall, we weren't terribly impressed by any of the rolls we tried (spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, rainbow). The hot food was far more impressive. First, pan-fried pork dumplings came out crazy fast and piping hot. They were perfectly crispy, yet filled with substantial meat inside, and paired with a delicious dipping sauce. We also tried the coconut shrimp which came out equally hot and fresh. So crispy, these were a great appetizer to share. We would have liked slightly more of a coconut flavor but overall no complaints about the hot food. The Thai entrees that passed us by as they were being delivered to other tables smelled and looked SO good it made my mouth water and filled me with regret over our order. I would definitely come back again, but would likely skip on the sushi and just order from the Thai side of the menu. read more

Also, the service could have been friendlier. I felt as though the server was not ready to offer recommendations, was fairly short with their responses, and the entire experience, or lack there of, felt strictly transactional. Awesome sushi place here in North Beach. We're staying at Mid-Beach for 10 days for family Thanksgiving. Found this tasty sushi place that's so good we came 2x in 10 days. Best sushi we've ever had, and we're from Los Angeles area, so this speaks volume. Fishes were very fresh and cut perfectly. My favorite is the white tuna. Never had it until I came here, and it is so buttery. It's better than yellowtail, which is my favorite. Christian was our waiter and he was very nice. Chef Kevin is the man! I wanted to try a new sushi place so I randomly found this one. Based on the pictures and reviews I decided to stop by, beyond happy that I did. Imagine not being able to make up your mind on what to order and then the chef himself comes to help you? Well that's exactly what happened haha. Chef Kevin helped me narrow down from all their delicious options and they were all pretty good. Yes, it tastes as good as it looks. I wish I could remember the names of the rolls right now but I can't ooops. Just show them the pics and they should be able to figure it out. It's located inside a condo/apartment complex in Miami Beach...not the place you'd think has amazing sushi but it does. Service was fast and professional. The restaurant is self was clean too and prices reasonable for the location. You can validate your parking ticket so you only pay about $3 for valet. Make sure to do it before leaving the restaurant. Fantastic sushi for reasonable prices. Started with miso soup - great, shoshito peppers - fantastic, edamame-always great, but some were over cooked and fried tofu, which was great and went fast. Wife and I had Saporros and kids got ginger-ale and strawberry ramune which is ok. Sushi/sashimi platter with California roll was great. Snow white roll was great. Spicy tuna roll was as good as that gets...usually not my favorite. The special roll (forget name) with truffle was amazing. Salmon skin roll was the only miss...needed more salmon. First off, let me say that the Sushi was on a whole other level! just WOW. But let me back up a bit. I was in the mood for some sushi and didnt want to wait for the delivery services, so I found this spot right next to my hotel and decided to take a short walk. I did need directions from my phone, since I know that there wasnt any visible restaurants in the area. Turns out, that this place is in the Carriage House Condominiums. Since I was walking, there wasnt anyone to ask. The door to enter the Condo building is locked and requires someone to use a badge or Key Fob. I happened to be going in behind someone so, no issues there. I asked the front desk and they pointed me in the direction of the lobby door to the right of the entrance. When you walk through, it appears to be a mini mall within the condo, with a convenience store, barber shop, a real estate office and Hoshi & Sushi. The place is small and seems to be a hidden location which is not really for everyone from the outside but more for its guests, since there is no visible signage that this place exists on the outside. So I agree with the awkward environment statement in a previous review, and thats the lost star. I decided to sit and the place at that hour was empty. The place is decorated to appear somewhat japanese, but the service was nice and attentive.. I was also the only one. I ordered a spicy Tuna roll and 2 pieces of Salmon Sushi and a Japanese beer. The food came relatively quickly and was presented nicely. I started with the Salmon and BAM. That was some of the best quality Sushi I Ever had! I have had quite a bit. Damn. I then ate the Spicy Tuna and you can just taste the freshness and quality. Amazing again. When the waiter offered if I would like some dessert, I said no, but I would love another 3 Salmon Sushi pieces. I finished them so quickly, I was actually debating on ordering even more! Never been disappointed with the food here. Some of the best sushi roll combinations in Miami. Otoro is good here but in my opinion Sushi Bichi is better but it's also double the price. Service is fair , prices are somewhat reasonable but I wouldn't say inexpensive . My only grievance with this place is that it's feels dark due to no natural light in the restaurant. If it was somewhere in the building with some ocean views or some natural light , we would definitely go here more often than twice a month as everyone in our has the same issue. read more

I remember the two times I came before the pandemic started the quality was far superior at what we had this time. We ordered steamed pork Gyozas, takoyaki, miso soup, geisha roll, rock and roll, volcano roll and hoshi dragon roll. First the good ones! The Gyoza, geisha and hoshi dragon rolls were really good! Very fresh and super tasty. Also the service from JC was on good! Now the bad part. The tacoyaki was a completely let down! It was supposed to be a octopus fritter but if I have not read it in the menu I would had not figured out that there was even octopus inside! Completely tasteless!! The volcano and the rock and roll were also terrible! Just a mess of "dynamite" on top that only tasted like spicy Mayo and old fried flakes. Second time I'm coming to Hoshi & Sushi! As a resident that lives off the boardwalk, this is one of the BEST restaurants in the strip! It's delicious, fresh fish, and affordable. The service is fantastic, super kind and attentive. The ambiance, especially during the weekday where it's less crowded, is super nice. The music isn't super loud, that's a plus! Highly recommend if you're thinking of taking a chance with the boardwalk restaurants. Top notch! Food: love the special Virgind Island, very filling and delicious.
