    Azabu House Salad
    Lucia P.

I recently visited Azabu for happy hour and it was so good. I can't believe I hadn't come here before! We sat at the bar and ordered a few bites and drinks. The bartender, Gio, was super nice and knowledgeable. The restaurant is very nice with ample seating at tables and the bar. I ordered a Prosecco that came with a plum Japanese liquor. For food we ordered the spicy tuna roll (so good!), the Brussels sprouts with a side of rice - fresh and flavorful, miso eggplant (great portion, fresh and tasty), the salad - it came with dehydrated veggies. The salad was crunch and tasty. The hamachi which was quite fresh. We ended the meal with the flourless chocolate dessert and it was so good! Can't wait to come back here again! They have a great dinner and happy hour menu.

My family and I had Happy Hour at this Japanese restaurant. We sat at the bar and shared a variety of the following dishes. The food and sushi were fresh and absolutely delicious. 1) Brussels Sprouts with bonito flakes, chili strings & spicy soy sauce - so good! 2) Asabu House Salad of fresh greens, citrus crunchy vegetables chips, tomatoes, pink grapefruit with kobu dashi dressing 3) Marinated Beef Skewers - prime filet mignon, scallion, sesame and Japanese BBQ marinade 4) Hamachi Jalapeno with daikon radish, shiso & yusukosho ponzu 5) Baked Crab Roll with soy sheet, sesame seeds and yuzu mayo 6) Robata Hamachi Kama - yellowtail collar, sea salt & ponzu 7) Spicy Tuna Roll & spicy mayo, sesame seeds, jalapeno & srirachi sauce 8) Sukiyaki Beef Udon 9) Dessert - Chocolate Pot with donuts and jam

$20 to valet in a covered space (validated). Nice hotel foyer entrance with comfortable chairs outside in case they're needed if you're waiting for someone. Hostess was efficient with seating. It wasn't too full, nor empty the Tuesday after Labor Day. A nice crowd. Server Vishal was exceptionally friendly and efficient. Supporting staff were all very friendly and checked in as well too. Nice plating and ambiance. Classy with some Japanese notes like a bonsai tree. The $60 miami spice menu was really worth it. 2 apps, a main, side dish and dessert. I'm A big eater and I felt pretty sustained. Everything we ate was delicious. From the raw, cured like preparations of hamachi and tuna to the scallops and sushi. The vegan curry was very flavorful too. It's nice to note they did try to cater for vegan diets here and that also is the case with the vegan mochi! The side Brussels and broccolini were also packed with flavor. Anyone looking for a quality meal, flavors, service, ambiance should be satisfied here. Totally worth the Miami spice!

Gorgeous restaurant! We had a fantastic server here on New Year's Eve. The food was insanely good! The Lobster Tempura was my favorite. But everything was delicious and the whole experience was great!

    Crab fried rice with uni

For a Michelin star rated restaurant, our experience was somewhat underwhelming and overpriced. The restaurant itself is simply decorated and lovely. Ambiance is my speed, quiet and dimly lit. The service was good and the staff was friendly. Surpisingly, the kids' meal portions were about the same size as the adults. The chicken katsu off the kids menu was the second best thing I ate after the uni sashimi. The chicken filet in the katsu is thinly pounded and perfectly breaded and crispy. There didn't seem to be much crab in my $35 crab fried rice, and I would have loved to see a fried or soft boiled egg on either the fried rice or beef udon. Both entrees were bland despite the side of oyster sauce they suggested using. The rolls were also bland and lacked flavor. An 18 percent service charge is added to your check. My suggestion if you want to try this place? Sit at the bar for Kanpai hour between 6p to 8p. I wish we had done that before dropping $300 on the convenience of it being in our hotel.

First and foremost, for a 2023 Michelin Star place, inside the Marriott Stanton in South Beach, expectations are set high! The service was fantastic, Nadie was attentive and friendly, but not overbearing, superb service - thank you! Let's get down to it! The food, let's start by saying I did not order direct from the menu, but used the "Happy Hour" menu, which is really well priced and hours are from 6-8pm. Sapporo - $5! A massive Azabu salad $7 Miso soup - $7 Spicy Tuna roll $12 Salmon roll $12 Ok, you had me at Michelin and hello, seriously, this is a fantastic deal for South Beach and the food was worthy and beyond of the price point. The rolls were tasty, not overly dressed with sauces, the sushi rice was very nice, the sake and whisky selection is TOP NOTCH!

    Salmon Tataki, Scallops Crudo
    Mio K.

This restaurant would be one of the few reasons I venture onto Ocean Drive. Can it be called a hidden gem if it's in the Marriott Stanton? It has a cozy, intimate interior that lets you forget you're in South Beach, with 2 bars, one cocktail bar and one sushi bar. Happy hour is offered from 6-8 PM daily at the high tops, as in the bars. We were able to sit at the sushi bar (not operating but still pretty) and order happy hour drinks with our dinner. I was delighted to get a refreshing Toki whiskey highball, much less one for $10 on happy hour. They offer both a $45 and $60 Miami Spice dinner menu, affordable options for a South Beach dinner. I recommend going with the $60 menu since you have more choices and 2 appetizers that you can get. The Hamachi Yuzu was beautifully plated and gave 4 generous cuts of yellowtail with lovely curls of fresh scallion. The yuzu oil and furikake gave an aromatic finish. The Spicy Tuna Roll gave plenty of pieces to share and was well put together. I've rarely ever seen a sushi roll that was so neaty pressed that nothing was out of place. The little jalapeño slices were a pretty topping as well as a fresh condiment with each bite. The Scallops Crudo were meaty and lightly dressed with a citrus soy sauce. I could have easily had 5 more pieces of it. The Salmon Tataki was the most surprising and impressive dish in the appetizers. Tataki makes me think of blow torched cuts of sashimi, but this salmon was cured, creating a slightly done outside but had more of a thick smoked salmon consistency. The miso dashi that dressed the salmon was addictive. I would have eaten a lot of things with it. I had the Mishima Wagyu Hanger Steak which was perfection. I reserve red meat meals to a few times a month, and this dish, served on a hot steak plate, was the one to have. The meat was cooked as requested, the plum teriyaki was savory without being overtly sweet, the eringi mushrooms were plentiful and tender, and the onions were caramelized just enough to leave the onion flesh but add lovely sweetness to the steak. The Vegan Japanese Curry was awesome as well. The sweet potatoes were cubed and roasted crisp, which gave them heft within the silky curry texture. The curry was flavorful, not spicy, just as the Japanese have it. There was generous use of tender broccolini both in the curry and with a side, cooked well enough to leave the bright green color to complement the dishes. Our server Vishal was on point with accommodating requests, serving and clearing dishes and giving menu recommendations. He recommended the Yuzu Zabaglione as a light, fruity dessert, and he was right. The dessert's combination of whipped mascarpone and yuzu custard was airy, yet substantial in sweetness and flavor to make it completely satisfying. I did hope for a little more yuzu flavor, but I'm also the type to want to drink yuzu juice straight up. (Vishal also mentioned that both the Yuzu Zabaglione and the Hokkaido Cheese Tart are new dessert menu items. Very exciting) I completely recommend you try Azabu for Miami Spice or regular dinner or happy hour! I'll likely see you there.

The lobster tempura is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Dipping it in salad and then coating it with crispy rice makes it delicious. The Toro Tartare is very fresh. The Heiwa Shuzou sake is quite mellow and easy to drink. The Fried Rice Crab contains crab, mushrooms and red peppers. It has a rich variety of ingredients that blend well together. The rice in the Spicy tuna is a bit too hard, which I'm not used to. As for the Grilled mushroom, I can't tell what ingredients it's combined with.

One of the worst sushi restaurant i have ever been to. Sushi tasted bad, not fresh. Ordered 10 pc nigiris and fishes were rather warm, not cold. Some fish smells not fresh. Tried lamb and it smelled. Even nigiri rice wasn't good either. Presentation of 10pc nigiri was embarrassingly poor. Even service was bad....

We went there for our 10 year anniversary and it was fantastic from start to finish. The little touches like giving us a hand drawn card for our dessert was unexpected but so good. Our server AK was a real gem. He made the experience easy while also being incredibly informative. He also proved to be a great photographer. We really enjoyed every dish and would go there again in a heartbeat. The pricing was great as well. A truly phenomenal experience.

Great Miami Spice experience! I chose the 4 course option for $60 and felt like it was worth it. The highlights were the wagyu gyoza, Brussels sprouts, and the hanger steak. Each one of those were memorable and would bring me back to Azabu. The service was great. They were attentive without being overly invasive.

    Spicy Tuna Roll

We came here for the $60 Miami Spice menu, and it was absolutely worth it! One of the best values for a spice menu this year. All of the food was amazing and fresh and the portions were large, giving you a full sized entree and roll. The dining room was small, intimate and quiet, and the service and drinks were amazing. Highly recommend trying Azabu this month to get the spice deal.

    Watercress Salad

This is seriously a little hidden gem! I'm not sure why I hadn't tried this restaurant before, but every single dish we ordered was genuinely amazing!! It's a quiet little spot located in the Marriot Hotel. Felt very perfect for a quick date night :) We got there and ended up scoring 2 seats at the bar. The bartenders, Gabriel and Bryan, took care of us and were so kind. We got a drink to start with, which was so carefully crafted and delicious. It was a gin based drink with hibiscus water. Then we jumped straight into food. We ordered the Watercress salad, the Salmon and Ikura Roll, the Wagyu Gyoza, and Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice. Every single item came out extremely quick and we felt very satisfied by the time we finished eating. The tuna and salmon tasted fresh and the roll was DELICIOUS. The Watercress salad, I could have eaten ten of them! Looks a little weird with the crispy rice balls, but the dressing and the preparation, chefs kiss. So so good. The bartenders informed us of the Happy Hour from 6-8p daily and I cannot wait to be back and try other things on the menu!

From the moment we arrived, the ambiance and location created the perfect atmosphere for a special evening. The food truly exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend the Miso Black Cod -- it was phenomenal and had the same rich, buttery texture as Chilean sea bass. Absolutely delicious. The Wagyu Burger was also outstanding -- freshly ground, high quality, and cooked perfectly. We also tried one of their sushi rolls topped with miso and filled with fresh tuna and salmon, and it was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. You can really taste the quality in every bite. Our server (I didn't catch her name -- an Asian woman, possibly in her 40s) was wonderful and made our experience even more enjoyable with her attentive and warm service. We truly loved this place and are already looking forward to coming back, especially to explore more of their sushi menu. Highly recommend!

Booked same-day on OpenTable, seated immediately on a packed Friday night. The covered terrace is stunning -- Japanese paper lanterns, string lights, tropical foliage. The Dragon Fruit Lemonade mocktails arrived orchid-garnished and vivid fuchsia. My Wahakan Old Fashioned came with a single spherical ice ball in a crystal-cut glass. Food highlights: Baby Corn in parmesan cream with paprika was the dish of the night. Crispy Truffle Fried Rice hearty and satisfying. Miso soup clean. Salmon Furai solid. Sushi enjoyable though the rice lacks the refinement of Miami's top raw bars. Vegetarians: limited options -- one Veggie Roll and uncertain tofu preparation when we asked to add it to the rice. Service warm but plates were cleared twice while we were still eating. On billing: 20% service charge added automatically, then the receipt suggests an extra 2-5% tip on top -- worth knowing upfront. OpenTable users: if you're redeeming a Dining Reward card, the staff hadn't encountered one before -- but the manager handled it graciously and honored the full amount without issue. Family-friendly, fair value, genuinely memorable evening.

The environment of the restaurant is dark and mysterious, edgy and luxurious, which elevated my anticipation of the meal to come. The complimentary glass of champagne was a nice welcome. When it was time to dine, all the guests for the evening were led down a low lit hallway to the dining room. When the frosted glass doors slid open, they revealed a beautiful chef's table situated in the center of the room. All the lighting, colors, and decoration point your eyes toward the chef as if he was on a stage. The restaurant is small, only a few seats around the table. This was nice because you get to know about your fellow guests. Everyone in attendance was so fun and personable. Now for the food. I will confess, I do not normally even like sushi or crave Asian food of this style. However, I loved every dish that was served to me. They hit all the senses - sight, sound, touch, smell, and taste. Other reviews have gone into detail about the various dishes and how good they are so I don't need to. I just want to echo those points and simply express gratitude to the chef for opening my horizons to enjoy these dishes I would not normally have. The showmanship is just right. The chef jokes with the guests and shows off his techniques but there is nothing kitschy or cliché about it. If anyone is concerned about that, let me allay your fears. There were three birthdays being celebrated that night, one of which was my friend's. The restaurant treated us all with a delicious coconut ice cream topped with caviar and finished with a cloud of gold dust. Seeing my friend light up from the gold dust finish made me so happy. Everyone who had a birthday walked away feeling extra special. Finally, a word about cocktails. The Japanese whiskey old fashioned was stunningly good. I had two of them. They source some very old and rare Japanese whiskeys to make their cocktails so they were certainly special. Would I recommend Nossa to others? Absolutely! They limit reservations to a max of two people so go with a close friend or loved one on a special occasion. It was be an experience you both remember and cherish.

Highlights: * Ultra luxury Omakase…read more* Starting at $295+++ per person * An exciting and exclusive experience dinner and a culinary "Show" Omakases in the Miami area have become almost as common to find as Lamborghinis and Ferraris on South Beach lately and high end venues where you can easily beg for the right to pay in advance and spend over $1,000 ++ per couple for dinner with wine or sake, tax, tip and extras, are becoming quite common. If you're going to drop a grand or two for dinner you are 1. Looking for something really special, 2. Want great food, great service and a special experience, 3. Can afford it or at least for a special occasion. I can't speak to your budget but Nossa, which means "Wow" in Portuguese will provide you with a very unique experience, a "Wow". You pay for a non refundable meal on Tock, in advance. Tax, tip, beverages and extras will be paid onsite later. There are only 15 or so spots per night, 6-8 per seating. Be sure to pay attention to the email instructions. You must arrive in advance (not Miami time). Part of the fun is finding the place. You are directed to a small poke shop where it looks like you're in the wrong place. You ask the cashier for instructions. He hands you an envelope with your name on it. You open it up and it tells you how to find Nossa. There is a secret hidden entrance close by and they will ask you the password before allowing you in. The secret door opens to a small speakeasy type bar with silent movies playing on the wall and you are offered a complimentary glass of bubbles (Prosecco). You are later escorted into a beautiful room, black with red lights, Japanese lanterns, jellyfish art, a large open kitchen and a custom semi circular marble dining counter with a spot light over each guests service area, where you and a few other guests (8 total maximum) will enjoy watching the night's preparations served directly in front of you. Depending on the theme of the night the focus might be on fish, wagyu, caviar, sake or whiskey matching. Chef Max Kamakura of Brazilian and Japanese background starts the show. Expect a lot of smoke, fire and showmanship as he creates 13 or more courses for you. On our visit in August the focus was Wagyu A5, see photo of menu. We had 7 different Wagyu preparations (oyster, tartare, smoking sando, tataki, Shabu shabu, uni, lemon and chasola), with 4 nigiris and dessert. We also took them up on several additional nigiris which were $20 each ++ per person extra, adds up. There is a small wine and sake list or corkage is available for wine collectors. I found it interesting that Nossa ages their own fish. Yes certain fish can be aged if you know what your doing. And like prime dry aged beef the fish can gain amazing complexity. We tried some aged fish next to fresh and it was quite surprising. Chef Kamakura uses an array of special cooking gadgets, smokers, and at times it looks like the lab of a mad scientist or a magician. When he's done you are served in an array of unique and attractive dishes. Nossa is not for everyone, but if you're an adventurous foodie who can handle Michelin prices and are looking for a unique experience then Nossa is for you.
