Visited this gorgeous spot for my birthday after seeing it all over social media. The ambiance is top-tier-fountains, plush seating, and a lovely rooftop. We sat outside to catch the entertainment, though it was quite hot despite the fans (pro tip: aim for sunset to beat the heat!). The service was wonderful; our server was super pleasant, and the sommelier guided us toward a perfect bottle of Bollinger champagne. MILA was SUCH A VIBE!!! From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the service stood out. Everyone made sure we felt welcomed and attended to throughout the entire experience. This is a VERY popular place, and reservations can be difficult to get, but we were able to get in for brunch and were definitely not disappointed! There were several food stations offering a great mix of Mediterranean, Asian, and American cuisine, so there was plenty to explore. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was beautiful, and the whole experience just felt like more than your typical brunch. One important tip when making your reservation: PAY ATTENTION to what you're booking! There's MILA Brunch, MILA Restaurant, and MILA Lounge, and they offer different experiences. Not impressed. Although the food was good, there was NO "experience" and no reason for it to be a "2-hour dining experience." It felt more like the two-hour timeframe was there to excuse slow and inattentive service, which was unfortunately the case with our server. And a 20% gratuity is automatically added to the bill. I'm also not sure what makes this an "experience" rather than just a restaurant serving food. There was nothing particularly interactive, unique, or memorable about the dining format itself. The saving grace was the food. The flavor profiles were good overall and clearly the strongest part of the evening. That said, my friend was underwhelmed by the oysters and said she's "had better." Genuinely can't believe it took me this long to finally sit down at Milla, because this is certified Miami staple territory and I was clearly missing out. So glad I finally made it happen. We started strong with the wild mushroom dumplings and spicy crispy tuna rice , both were absolutely excellent. From there we went all in with a sushi sampler, and the Wagyu skirt steak, an immediate favorite of the night. Dessert sealed the deal with both the raspberry cheesecake and a chocolate lava cake with miso ice cream, and I'm not being dramatic when I say both were absolutely delicious. The entertainment factor was a whole experience on its own .. there was a fire show mid-dinner that was such a fun surprise. Gorgeous restaurant, gorgeous rooftop, gorgeous everything. The only complaint would have to be that the tables are a little TOO close together .. hard to actually hear my date over everyone else's conversation happening two inches away. Came here with a group of girls for a bachelorette and it was the perfect pick! Rooftop, Mediterranean meets Japanese, and a room that feels like an event the second you walk in. The crispy tuna rice nigiri is the one. Order two rounds because they disappear immediately. Warm crunchy rice, cool spicy tuna, and it's the bite everyone at the table talks about after. Dumplings were excellent. Delicate wrappers, big flavor, and they held up even while we were busy taking photos of everything. The steak came out beautifully cooked and was easy to share across the table. And do not skip the brussels sprouts. Crispy, caramelized, punchy, and somehow the plate that got scraped clean first. The cocktails are gorgeous. Genuinely some of the prettiest drinks I've had, and they actually taste as good as they photograph. Great for a group that wants to toast a hundred times. Service handled a big loud happy group with zero attitude, which matters when you're the loud happy group. Dress up! This is a get ready with the girls kind of night. Had the opportunity to have dinner with the family at Mila. We had a bit of a struggle with the menu - but definitely not the restaurant's fault. Let me explain - we were celebrating a birthday - and we had kids with us, so with that said - their menu does not cater to them. Our waiter was very accommodating and assisted us in selecting the 8oz Sirloin which was very good and made sure that all the added sauces and garnishes were not added. The vibe is definitely for adults - so will be returning on a date with the wife. The valet parking was very convenient and priced reasonably which was very great to see. Over all great place to have dinner and drinks - great vibe and music with a pretty nice fire/dancing show in the outside patio. Also, we brought in a cake and they made sure to cut it and serve it. (There was a few associated to this, but it's reasonably priced). Overall a good experience. read more

We were really excited for brunch at MILA, but unfortunately the experience did not live up to what we expected from a restaurant of this caliber. Our reservation was at 2:30 and we arrived about 18 minutes late after hitting traffic. We called ahead to let them know and although we missed the 15 minute grace period by only a few minutes, they still honored our reservation, which we appreciated. However, from the moment we arrived we immediately felt rushed. One hostess told us we would need to leave by 4:15 and would be "missing something," while another hostess told us we wouldn't miss anything at all. Then once seated, our server gave us yet another time that we needed to be finished. This was especially confusing because MILA advertises brunch as a two hour experience. If you're accepting a 2:30 reservation, I would expect the full experience to be available until 4:30. Walking in, everything looked incredible. Caviar displayed over an ice sculpture, someone slicing jamón, beautiful dessert displays, multiple buffets and a DJ. Unfortunately, not very long after sitting down, the caviar station was removed, the jamón station was gone, some buffet items stopped being replenished and eventually we realized the DJ had packed up and left and the music had switched over to regular house music. We weren't even halfway through our experience. Another big miss was that nobody really explained how the brunch worked or where everything was located. With stations spread throughout the restaurant, either the hostess while walking us to the table or our server could have given us a quick rundown of where to find everything. Instead, we basically had to figure it out ourselves. That became even more frustrating as stations started disappearing because now we're walking around wondering where things are, only to realize they've already been removed. Service also missed the mark. Dirty plates were left on our already very small table to the point that we had to move them ourselves to the table next to us. The cocktails were pretty weak, and one of my friends was initially told they couldn't make one of the featured brunch cocktails because an ingredient wasn't available, only for them to suddenly find it and make the drink shortly afterward. Individually these are small things, but together they added up. We ultimately spoke with a manager who was AMAZING. He genuinely listened to our concerns and handled the situation extremely well. Both my friend and I work in hospitality, so complaining is honestly the last thing we want to do when we're out enjoying ourselves. Our feedback was really about the experience being sold versus the experience being delivered. If certain activations like the DJ, caviar or specialty stations only run until a certain time, either make that very clear when booking a late reservation or stop accepting reservations that can't receive the full experience. Someone booking the last available reservation should still receive the same brunch experience being advertised to everyone else. I also want to touch on the dress code, it's not enforced. We were sat next to a table of young ladies with next to nothing on pretty much in bikinis. MILA itself is beautiful and there were definitely things we enjoyed, but the late brunch experience needs some rethinking. Absolutely appalling treatment over a pair of shoes. We arrived at MILA tonight for a reservation we had been looking forward to, only to be turned away because my pregnant friend was wearing the suede sandals pictured in this review. To be completely transparent, MILA's reservation notes do state "no flip-flops." These were elevated suede sandals worn with a long dress--not rubber beach or pool flip-flops. MILA is certainly entitled to enforce its dress code. What was unacceptable was the way we were treated while they did it. The person at the entrance was incredibly rude and dismissive. When I explained that my friend was pregnant and had chosen comfortable footwear for that reason, I was actually told that I should have noted her pregnancy on our reservation and that doing so "would have been helpful." I genuinely cannot understand why a woman should be expected to disclose that she is pregnant when making a dinner reservation--or why that information should be necessary for a restaurant to treat her with basic courtesy and use reasonable discretion over a pair of suede sandals. There was no gracious explanation or attempt to help us find a solution. We were simply made to feel unwelcome and turned away. You can enforce a dress code without humiliating your guests, and a restaurant positioning itself as a luxury hospitality experience should understand that distinction. We left and happily spent our money elsewhere. Miami has far too many excellent restaurants that understand hospitality for us to ever return to MILA. I'm including a photo of the shoes that resulted in us being turned away so prospective guests can see exactly what MILA considers unacceptable footwear--and pregnant guests may apparently want to make a note of their pregnancy when booking. read more

It's a little loud if you're trying to have an intimate dinner so just plan accordingly to spread out the people whose voices carry in your party. My first and last time at Mila. The vibes were good, the food was mid at best, and the customer service was practically non-existent. We came to Mila after attending a World Cup match at Hard Rock Stadium. Thanks to Miami's terrible event logistics, getting an Uber took over an hour, forcing us to push our reservation to the final 11:30 PM slot. Since we couldn't make it back to the hotel to change, we showed up in our soccer jerseys and jeans. The door lady was incredibly dismissive and rude. We explained the stadium nightmare, but she wouldn't budge on the dress code even as we watched a guy walk right out in jeans, tennis shoes, and a T-shirt. We asked for the manager (Galy/Gorman), who also refused to let us in but promised our table if we could go change and make it back by 12:30 AM. Since it was a Monday night and everything else was closed, we rushed back to the hotel, changed, and returned at 12:15 AM. When we got back, the door lady didn't even acknowledge our effort. Upstairs, the runaround continued. The host actively lied and claimed the kitchen was closed. She tried to stick us at the bar, claiming tables were gone, until we had her contact the manager who had promised us one. She then quickly changed her tune. Then, a second host tried to seat us inside (freezing cold), and finally dumped us at a tiny two-top outside. We order heavy, so my friend, who flew all the way from the Middle East for the World Cup, nicely asked for an empty booth nearby. The host caught a major attitude, complaining she was "just doing her job." We had to get the manager *again*, who finally wiped down the booth for us, though he never once thanked us or acknowledged the hoops we jumped through to come spend our money there. Once we finally sat down, the atmosphere was actually great. Good music and a cool vibe, even though we were too late for the fire dancers. A huge shoutout to area manager Jose from Venezuela, he was the ONLY friendly person in the entire building, and the rest of the staff needs to take a hospitality lesson from him. Because we were starving, we ordered almost everything: Margarita verde, sweet corn, wild fungi dumplings, Wagyu gyoza, Hamachi crudo, truffle cream spaghetti, crispy Brussels sprouts, spicy tuna crispy rice, miso cod, wasabi mashed potatoes, and the king crab hot pot. Honestly? Most of it was totally mid and not worth the hype or the price tag. A lot of the dishes had no flavor or a weird aftertaste. The truffle spaghetti was especially disappointing--flavorless with literal clumps of cream. The only standouts were the Brussels sprouts, the hamachi, and the king crab hot pot. To top off the exhausting experience, our $800 bill (for two people) included a mandatory 20% service fee (about $200). When we asked our waitress, Savannah, she implied the fee goes to the "whole team" and essentially expected us to tip her an ADDITIONAL 20% on top. The lack of transparency regarding their billing is concerning. So Mila expects a 40% tip for lackluster food and horrible service that started before we even walked through the door? It feels like a deceptive practice that diners should be aware of. No thank you. Save your money and go somewhere that actually values its customers. read more

We had dinner reservations in the downstairs lounge for a bachelorette group, and every single one of us gave this place a 10/10. To be fair, service was pretty slow at first--we didn't even have menus for a while. The restaurant had a full buyout event earlier and seemed to be playing catch-up. Our waitress was very apologetic, but initially we were definitely frustrated with the wait. Once the food and drinks started coming out, though, everything changed. Every dish was absolutely delicious and felt elevated and luxurious. Our favorites were the spicy tuna crispy rice, lamb chops, and beetroot maki. Opened in early 2020 right before the pandemic hit. The place weirdly enough just claimed the title of America's highest grossing independent restaurant (idk how I feel about that). We asked to sit downstairs where the DJ starts around 11PM. The energy was great with incredibly comfortable and spacious seating. There was a 2 hour limit at the table, but we moved to the bar after our meal. Loved the caviar potato as an appetizer, and the beef tenderloin literally melted in my mouth. Went here the other night for dinner with a friend. Classic Miami restaurant where you pay for aesthetics, but not quality. While things look luxurious at surface level, you shouldn't look at anything too closely. Bathroom is all black with water spots on it, and the soap dispensers were gross and worn. Most of the food was okay, about on par with Moshi Moshi. The beef tartar was a miss, because of the bone marrow, it was way too rich and fatty. We each took one bite, but could not eat more. The lamb chops were also a disappointment, they were so sickly sweet, they were close to being inedible. Everything (cauliflower, beets, lamb...) seemed to have the same spicy seasoning. I like hot food, but don't want every dish to taste the same. The one thing I would recommend are the cocktails, they were exceptional. But do yourself a favor and grab food somewhere else. read more

We had an overall great dining experience at MILA. Although the restaurant was 45 minutes late for our reservation, the food and atmosphere were excellent. Our server provided outstanding service throughout the entire meal. He was attentive, friendly, and made our experience enjoyable. The disappointing part came at the end. In addition to the automatic 20% service charge, we chose to leave an extra $100 in cash because we felt our server truly deserved it. As we were leaving, we noticed a manager or higher-up wearing a blue suit take our checkbook, open it, and put the cash in his pocket. Concerned, we later asked our server if the additional cash would be going to him. He told us that the higher-up would not be giving it to him. If that's truly the restaurant's policy, it should be clearly disclosed to guests before they choose to leave an additional cash tip specifically for their server. We intended that money to reward the excellent service we received, and it's disappointing to learn that it may not have reached the person we meant to thank. I hope management addresses this because it left a negative impression on what was otherwise a wonderful dining experience. read more

After about 20 minutes, we were told that our reservation had been canceled and were asked to wait at the bar, but there were no available seats. We ended up waiting for about an hour before speaking to a manager, who blamed us for arriving late despite the earlier confirmation call. We were eventually seated, but only next to a busy service station rather than in the main dining area we had reserved. The table area also felt poorly maintained, with visible issues such as dishes not being properly cleared and tables being quickly wiped rather than properly cleaned. To be fair, the restaurant is visually impressive and the staff are well presented, but the service did not match the setting. The lack of proper communication, the long wait, the incorrect handling of our reservation, and the absence of any meaningful service recovery made the experience very disappointing. At this price point and for a restaurant positioning itself as a luxury dining destination, I expected a substantially higher standard of hospitality. read more

Wow! That's my one-word description of my experience at the MILA lounge. My friend and I made a reservation a couple weeks in advance and luckily were able to get a good time slot for the lounge on the second floor. The lounge design itself is marvelous with a dimly lit atmosphere and calm yet upbeat music making it an all-around chill area to enjoy some delicious cuisine. The walls and carpeting are well maintained and the couches are comfortable with clean pillows with unique tribal designs. The service of the staff was top notch. I truly felt cared for, and the server assistant did awesome at constantly watching our table for any small adjustment that could be done to make our meal more enjoyable. He removed dirty plates, replaced silverware, wiped the table regularly, and removed any debris as soon as it needed to be discarded. The food itself was that of a smaller portion size, but it was extremely flavorful and rich. The sauces are excellently paired, and the menu itself was very well curated by the chefs. Presentation was great and all the food arrived at the optimal temperature. The best was the Chilean Seabass. If I had to choose one dish it would be that to recommend. The cocktails were nicely presented as well and the bartenders really know their stuff. It was great for a special occasion and I look forward to returning again soon! read more

We had the most wonderful evening at MILA Miami. The food was exceptional, but the service truly made our night. Our waitress, Aleia, was absolutely fantastic--sweet, attentive and full of brilliant recommendations. We started with the tuna crispy rice, which was excellent, followed by the mushroom gyoza, another of Aleia's recommendations and one I would highly recommend. The chicken yakitori was also very good, although not quite as memorable as some of the other dishes. We then had the skirt steak. I like mine rare, while my friend prefers hers well done, so they brought us a hot stone with beef tallow, allowing us to cook each piece exactly to our liking. Such a lovely touch! The corn on the cob was an outstanding side dish and is definitely not to be missed. The truffle spaghetti was deliciously rich, so we were very glad we shared it. We also had the beautiful black cod and the potatoes with crème fraîche and caviar--all absolutely gorgeous and dishes I would happily recommend. We must also mention the lovely young man who continually poured our water and cleared our dishes. We unfortunately didn't catch his name, but he told us he was from Bali, Indonesia, and we believe he is fairly new. He was so smiley, kind and attentive, and genuinely couldn't do enough for us. We received some of the best service we have ever experienced. Aleia was simply the best, and the entire team made us feel so well looked after. Beautiful restaurant but the entire experience was overwhelming and overstimulating for a night out for dinner. First, Walking up to club-like bouncers and front door staff almost bullying about reservation status and entry. Next, coming off the elevator to a sea of people, with no space to even check in for a reservation. The overcrowded bar area was a complete challenge to just put a drink order in. luckily we ended up behind nice people who helped us. When we finally got into the dining area, it was loud, so service had no space to be friendly. We ordered a table full of apps and drinks. Nothing was special about anything I had. The fire dancers were a nice touch, but overall didn't add much to the dining experience. I actually would return for an earlier reservation to see if the vibe is calmer. read more

The hostess told us to wait at the bar for the full party. We ordered drinks and the hostess got mad that we had to close the bill at the bar because they would not continue our tab over to the table. She then proceeded to threaten that we would not be served if we did not sit at the table within 15 minutes of the reservation(she could see us actively paying checks). She also would not let part of our party sit at the table (the part that already closed their tab) which is how we ended up in the situation in the first place. Our waitress was amazing. However for the price range of this restaurant I would assume there would be a standard for all service. I understand the policy of not sitting partial parties prior to everyone's arrival but telling people to sit at the bar and expecting them to not order anything is wild. The cocktails are tasty and complement the creative dishes well. We really appreciated the space's design and the live show, which happens sporadically throughout the night. The lighting, decor, and plants make it feel as if you're dining outdoors. The service is very friendly and fun. Our server, Mike, made our night especially entertaining. One small issue is that we felt a bit rushed given the amount of food we ordered. This food deserves to be enjoyed and savored. MILA Miami is a fantastic and sophisticated MediterrAsian restaurant, rooftop lounge and mixology bar located in the heart of Miami Beach.  I came for my birthday with my family and what a treat it was! I mean, WOW! The food here draws influences from the Mediterranean and Japan, and the dishes are served in the informal izakaya dining style, meaning they are meant to be shared at the table. Basically, tapas style. We tried the skinny spicy margaritas, several dishes (pictured), and three desserts. Everything was delicious, particularly the desserts. The service was superb and the entire vibe was sophisticated. The common areas were, spacious, clean and easy to walk in. It is centrally located, but parking is limited. There are two paid public open parking lots nearby, which get crowded, so I highly encourage you to make it with plenty of time ahead.  Also, make sure to make a reservation if you want a table, but you can walk in and seat at the bar with full access to the menu without one (I would not risk it, though).  This is a high-end restaurant, so be ready to pay top dollar for the entire experience. They are strict with the dress code and read those dress code instructions carefully. Overall, highly recommended for really special occasions. read more

The ambiance is everythingggg here! However, the food was only alright in my opinion. The one thing I enjoyed with the Australian Wagyu. Everything else was so so. I've had better meals and experiences for the price at other spots in Miami. We sat in the rooftop and got to enjoy the fire and rope performances. We ordered: Old fashions 3/5 Margarita Verde 3/5 1 espresso 3/5 Still water The wasabi mashed potatoes 3/5 The Australian wagyu 5/5 Spicy salmon sushi roll 3/5 In total spent $396 (tips are included in the bill at 20%). The service was alright. They were fairly attentive and informative. Food came out pretty quick as well. I probably wouldn't come back here. However, it was great for the one time ambiance. Tip for a perfect view of the performance be at the bar. Also, performances happened at 7pm and 8:45 pm. read more

Came out on a Wednesday for a girls night out. Savannah took excellent care of our table. She introduced herself and presented the menu based on our allergies and food preferences. Her recommendations were amazing and the entire table loved it. We had a number of cocktails and shared spicy tuna on crispy rice, mushroom dumplings, hamachi crudo, tuna tartar, and hamachi sushi. Mila is ultimate Miami vibes. From the moment you walk in you know why this one of the hottest places in town. Not only is it beautifully decorated inside with a beautiful zen/Asian/earthy motif but it also has a scene for days and music that is non stop and quintessential Miami. Food is great. Lots of different options from sushi to Asian fusion - really liked the miso and some of the sashimi and also the eggplant. Drinks were also great. Service is also top notch, very professional and upscale, totally what you'd expect from a place like this. Definitely can get pricey depending on what you order and several tables can be limited on time for reservations (which you must make). Also downstairs turns into table service so you may not be able to sit freely in areas without paying or being a member. Parking is tough, I was visiting so I took rideshare. read more
