Went for their valentine meal. Our reservation was at 830, they stated we would need to wait a few minutes and they would get us from the bar. Said ok no worries. Went to the bar ordered an old fashioned which was great, my wife got their signature margarita, very cucumbery my wife didn't like it, I did not mind it. The bartender Rey was great. At 915 I finally had enough and went to the hostess to ask what was going on as they were seating people that had arrived after us. She then informs me we are the next table, in other words she forgot about us. Sat down very crowded tables, felt like we were all one big party. Couldn't hear our waitress name as the music was very loud. Asked if we wanted drinks but forgot to mention we get a welcome drink already paid for so kudos for getting more money out of me. After sitting there for another hour and half we had eaten not even half what was on the nights menu, we had eaten two little pieces of tuna tataki, two dumplings and the biggest insult the Omakase, which was 6 pieces of nigiri, 2 salmon, 2 white fish, 2 tuna. If that is your 'chefs choice' on a specialized dinner you need a new chef, felt like I was at Publix! After waiting another 15 mins we told the waitress that we had not gotten the welcome drink and the avocado salad. She apologized that the kitchen was backed up and she would see what was going on. We are now over 2 hours sitting there and no mains yet. We had enough we asked for the check and left. Ruined our entire night as it was now after 11pm on Valentine's Day there was no where to go eat so we went home hungry. We will not return to this place. Over priced Miami Beach hype! As soon as we ordered our food, they started to rush us and kept cleaning our table off even though we were still eating and enjoying our night. It wasn't busy in there until the owner brought in over 30 girls to make it look full and offered them a cheap wine. We wanted to stay and order more drinks but manager literally told his team to clean our table and give us the check so that the girls had a place to sit. For that I give it 2 stars. I hosted a business dinner here on a Tuesday night and cannot rave about this place enough! The ambiance is a complete vibe in itself. Dim lights, greenery, indoor/outdoor seating. On Tuesday the noise level was like any other restaurant but there are days where it is a party with a DJ. We had about 20 people and 1 server. He was very efficient and attentive. There were a few times we had to grab him for drink orders but nothing crazy. The food...the drinks! Chef's kiss!! Our server essentially ordered a little bit of everything for the table to eat family style. There wasn't 1 menu item I didn't enjoy. My favorite was definitely the wagyu dumpling - a must try. When I asked where the restroom was, he walked me to it! I was shocked at how much he cared and built rapport with me. I felt VIP! I asked who his manager was, which was Henry but didn't get to see him to tell him. Henry, if you're reading this, you have a true gentleman and a scholar! Silvio from the restroom service was spectacular and built rapport and was extremely friendly. He also held the bathroom down well despite challenging customers. There's a DJ and dancers and the place is LOUD so don't expect to have in-depth conversations at your table. Mid-way through the meal, the music got even louder and our waitress brought us up into the bar to dance! They gave us sparklers too. Groups of girls can go with a promoter to get a table with drinks and chasers included, or the restaurant was offering that too, to get more girls. The food was pricy but absolutely delicious. Disappointing Service Despite the Hype We live in NYC and visited Baoli Miami expecting a great experience, but the service was shockingly bad. Our waiter was rude from the start -- he literally asked, "So what do you want to eat?" in an aggressive, dismissive tone, like we were cattle being herded. Throughout the meal, they kept clearing our plates without even asking if we were done, and showed clear attitude when we ordered drinks. What made it worse was the contrast: there was a table full of influencers nearby, and that was the only place where the waiter suddenly became warm, attentive, and professional. It's obvious they care more about social media visibility than about providing real hospitality to paying guests. For a place that relies so heavily on its image, the service was embarrassingly poor. MIAMI SPICE REVIEW FOOD: overall, no dish stood out to me. The plates ARE smaller for Miami spice and I was still hungry when I left. Crispy rice: pretty solid, nothing to complain about except it was just a bit Hamachi tacos: again, good, but just a tiny bite Beef Kofta: good Mediterranean flavors, but it would definitely be better with a side of carbs Salmon: wouldn't get this again because the flavors fell flat. The fish was also very over cooked Banana spring roll: literally just bananas wrapped in spring rolls, and deep fried DRINKS: drinks are pricier since most are $22. Tucked away in the heart of Sobe, an amazing birthday experience with even a greater DJ! We went for a birthday dinner with 10 people and everything was awesome. The vibes, the food, the music was on point (Tulum, Boho house), our waitress. We got there around 8:30 and the party was just getting started. Around 10 is where it becomes a "nightclub", they had the girls dancing on top of the bar with a whole show and presentation. Food was great. We got the crispy tuna/salmon, spicy tuna roll, salmon roll, hamachi roll (melted like butter in your mouth), Wagyu dumplings, shrimp, and more! The ambiance was phenomenal inside but outside wasn't the best. It was very hot and not well lit. I understand dim lights set the vibe but this was too dark. They really need more fans! My spouse and I went to Baoli for Valentine's Day expecting a romantic prix fixe dinner for two, and it turned out to be a huge disappointment. PRE-PAID BTW. We had a 9:00 pm reservation but weren't seated until 9:20. The place was extremely overcrowded, with a long line of other couples behind us, and it was incredibly clear they had overbooked the night. Also we weren't greeted with the promised welcome drink, and service was so incredibly slow. My spouse asked the waiter at least five times for his beer as well as my drink before we finally received them. To make matters worse, one of our plates came out cold and had to be sent back. It was a beef steak of some sort. They also took a long time to clear our table between courses, leaving a lot of plates sitting in front of us and making the whole experience feel uncomfortable and unpolished. Also the prix fixe menu was also served family style, which wasn't what we expected for a Valentine's dinner for two. It felt impersonal and chaotic rather than romantic. However, I ordered the hummus and was given a single piece of naan/pita? no bigger than a tea plate. With the amount of hummus given, that is not an adequate amount as I had to pile hummus to even be able to finish the plate. In addition, our table felt very scammed by the water. Beware you have to explicitly mention TAP water or you will be charged $10 a bottle and they will keep on filling. We didn't know this and their verbiage was horrible as we assumed with "still or sparkling" that sparkling would be a bottle. Yes, in places like Italy this is obvious. This was, honest to God, the worst restaurant experience I've had in my life. Walk around 8:30 on a Sat half empty restaurant, no res, wait at the bar until we're seated, cool. I understand staggering seating, not overbooking etc, cool. We get a table after a drink at the bar at around 9. 5 minutes later we're greeted, order 2 of the tasting menu, waitress doesn't know the courses, but okay, apparently it changes daily, no problem. Order 2 cocktails. Course one is 2 random appetizers, it comes before the drinks, drinks come, great. Then we wait. And wait. And wait. And wait. And wait. And wait. We tell ourselves 5 more minutes and we're going to leave. 9:52 I start calling other restaurants, and a few minutes later the 3rd plate comes. We waive down the waitress and ask for the check. This is the 3rd time we've seen her since we sat. 10:06 we get the check, pay via inkind and leave, low and behold, our absent waitress all of sudden knows we exist when we're at the front door leaving thinking that we didn't pay. I've never felt ripped off leaving a restaurant until today. The only thing comped was the 4th plate which came out as the check was being adjusted, and leaving this place an hour and a half after entering, we were hungrier than when we walked in and not one bit drunk. If this place charged half the price, I'd still say it was awful, but I at least wouldn't feel ripped off. There's tons of places you go to that you pay for the vibe that's overpriced garbage, but at least there you have a good time. I don't know how this place stayed open for as long as it did. Came here to try the Miami Spice menu and I have no regrets. I started off with an espresso martini, which was probably one of the best I've ever had! They were small but mighty. The crispy tuna and the lamb meatballs were great appetizers. The star of the show had to be the beef kefta skewers. Oh my goodness they were sensational. So we are visiting for a friends birthday and decided to kick it off here! So first of all there's a ton of vibes here. Ton of photo opportunities and very pretty place. You can't beat the service as well. Slow to start not gonna hold you but the rest was pretty smooth. Like we kept sending stuff back and then at one point we really didn't know something wasn't ours as we were trying new things here. So one of my friends tried it and later they came back to say it wasn't ours. But at this point we literally kept getting the wrong foods! The drinks are definitely crafted cocktails so I love that for us. My homegirl said the steak was the best steak she had allll year! Which is a huge compliment because she lovessssss steak and definitely pays attention to flavor. Everyone enjoyed their food. I got the drink called the rainforest I think which was made with gin and it was yummy! The branzino to me was, like eh good but not great. The chimichurri wasn't the most flavorful and honestly for $75 I would expect a more explosive flavor. But my friend said that I have to weigh in ambiance and service into the price of the fish so I guess altogether it's worth if because you have music, a few servers etc. but I wouldn't get again. The girls walking around dancing were a vibe, they also have bottle service and some pump it up music. Bathrooms hella pretty and they have people in there keeping it clean. The service was excellent; they were attentive and cleaned our table multiple times, as well as swapping out the plates in order to savor the dishes better. We shared all of the plates so we could taste more dishes and OMG highly recommend the crispy rice salmon tartare! The ambiance was really nice, well designed.
