We were staying up the block and tried Kalypso for dinner on a Friday. When we looked there were plenty of reservation slots so just chose to walk up when we were ready. By the time we arrived, around 8, the place was packed! We waited about 20 min so not too long at all. The spot was a great setting with open air and plenty of plants and comfy chairs. Our server and the host were both excellent. Very gracious with us. Our table ordered a few appetizers as meals as well as regular meals. Octopus, moussaka rolls, shrimp Santorini, salmon and lamb. The octopus was cooked perfectly. The lamb shank had an excellent bed of orzo but it was a little over done as parts were a bit tough. It still mostly fell off the bone though and was tasty. There was a minor mixup with the timing of our plates as the appetizer meals were delivered early and one seemed to have been forgotten. It didn't really bother us but they went above and beyond in apologizing by giving us some free desserts galaktobourko and Greek yogurt, both of which were delicious, as well as green tea shots! Both totally unexpected and unnecessary but greatly appreciated. You can tell that they pride themselves on their customer service. Stumbled into this restaurant for lunch while visiting Miami and it was so incredible, we came back for dinner that night. Its a beautiful restaurant inside a hotel and we were blown away by the experience. The service was truly exceptional. Every item we tried was absolutely delicious. From my cappucino to the burger. From the saganaki to the salads and chicken skewer. Top notch food. A truly welcoming place that makes you feel at home or even like you're at a hidden gem in the heart of greece. Cannot say enough good things about this place. I look forward to coming back to Miami and recommending them to anyone heading this way read more

Kenny was an outstanding server and we had a terrific experience. The staff is beyond good! Absolutely terrific customer service. We only had a few small items but they were great. We tried the trio appetizer. The grilled octopus and and an amazing dessert... not sure what it is called. It was made with filo dough and honey and well, it was great!! We recently moved to this part of town. The pool side seating was wonderful with good music playing at a very acceptable volume. We had a beautiful view of the the pool and ocean. Tucked into the Oceanside of our favorite Boutique Hotel in NOBE, this place will WOW you with their food, atmosphere and view. The staff is phenomenal, service is excellent. We had an outstanding experience for dinner. Achilles, the owner welcomed us and found us a last minute high top table. We had a very good rose wine from Provence which was very well priced for Miami Beach, the mushroom pizza and the branzino. Both of them were delicious. They had a wonderful meal at Kalypso Beach. We didn't have a reservation and the restaurant was packed, but we managed to snag two seats at the bar. We started off with the lamb meatballs and two cocktails the Aphrodite and I think a spicy margarita that were very good. I had the lamb shank with orzo, which was delicious. I felt like I was back in Greece. My girlfriend had the steak and it was very flavorful and tender. She was very happy with her meal. I would highly recommend this place. read more

Wow! I almost don't want to tell you about this incredible hidden gem. One of the only restaurants miles with a beautiful view of the beach. The service was incredible. They made sure we were happy with everything we ordered. The cocktails were perfect and the coffee is out of this world! The music is the icing on the cake. I would come here everyday! Delicious calamari served with a lemon aïoli is so complementary. The calamari has a thin breading with crunches much in the Japanese style. Not to be missed. The octopus which is grilled is really overcooked. Before you grill an octopus, you boil it to soften it up this was boiled twice as long as necessary, so it was really quite mushy. It needs a redo. And the mushroom pizza looks like it's probably a 12 inch mushroom pizza with grilled onions and fresh mushrooms. Very nice.p I'd recommend that I'm probably every other pizza given the quality of the dough and the condiments. Service was excellent and the breeze, as we face the ocean is hard to beat.
