It was always a dream of mine to visit Nobu and live out my inner Drake experience. We decided to have our mini-moon at Eden Roc so this was the time to finally splurge and try out Nobu since it's located inside. First, let's talk ambiance. The place is absolutely beautiful. Just walking in you feel like you have been exported to a Miami design Asian inspired dream. It's very dimly lit which is honestly a vibe. It's romantic and intimate. There's some chill house playing in the background. Depending on where you sit you get a view of the sushi chefs making the food so ver authentically Asian. Honestly the vibe carries a lot of the experience. Now - I was not a huge fan of our waitress. We expressed we just got married and she kind of treated it like it was just another day at the office. Which valid for her - but for us this is a special outing and I would have preferred to be treated accordingly and given some guidance as she knew it was our first time here. Definitely a big reason I knocked off a star. The drinks were DELICIOUS. I love a good cocktail that gets you tipsy, has a medley of flavors, and makes you forget that there's alcohol. So definitely I can imagine Happy Hour being lit at Nobu. Now for the food. Honestly it was 50/50 for me. Again, I'm being critical given this is a pricier experience. The Dry Miso Whitefish and the Crispy Tuna were AMAZING and enough to make me want to come again. However, the item I was most excited for was the Wagyu Dumplings and it was MID. I was like did I just pay $50 for ground beef?? It was the most expensive item and probably the worst IMO. The vegetable tempura was perfectly breaded but lacked any flavor. So overall, Nobu is a great date night experience but you need to know what to order and what to avoid so you don't just throw money out the window. And don't expect special treatment because you're spending money because everyone else is too I guess. Perhaps if we were Drake and Cardi B our experience would be different... I'm excited to try Nobu in Atlanta (our hometown) to see how the experience holds up. read more

I absolutely love Nobu! The fact that there's a hotel too, so fun. The staff has been so kind and allowed me and my coworkers to eat without a reservation! The host and manager allowed for us to have a quick bite and that really made the beginning of dinner start so well. I always order the yellowtail and my daughter loves the steak skewers. You can never go wrong with Nobu, and this location was outstanding like all the others. Service is impeccable, the food is a masterpiece, and the Eden Roc location on Miami Beach is pretty amazing. We enjoyed so many dishes, but the Crispy Tuna is always a winner, as was the ever classic Miso Cod. We also had a beautiful tray of sushi and sashimi that was to die for. Popped in unexpectedly with a few peeps for dinner around 8:30, 9 on Monday night and while we didn't have reservations, they were able to seat us at the sushi bar. Front row seat to see the action! Lychee martinis were on point and delicious, one of my favorites. Ended up sharing a few different dishes. Started with the spicy edamame which wasn't spicy at all, trust I don't do mouth on fire hot. Yellowtail jalapeño was tasty as well. Traditional, spicy salmon and spicy tuna rolls, simple but good. I have never been so embarrassed or humiliated by a restaurant in my life. Manager Aiko accused me of attempting to pay with a fraudulent Nobu e-card, claiming it was invalid and had insufficient funds. I repeatedly showed her that the card balance was available by pulling it up on Nobu's own website. I even told her to contact whoever she needed to contact to verify the balance, because I knew the funds were there. Instead of trying to resolve what appeared to be a technical issue on Nobu's end, she insisted that I was responsible for paying the entire bill. When I refused to pay twice for the same amount, she called the police and had security prevent me from leaving. When the police arrived, they reviewed the situation and agreed that the card showed an available balance. I also called to verify the balance, and it was confirmed that the funds were still on the card. Despite that, I was publicly accused, detained by security, and treated as if I were committing fraud--all in front of other guests. This experience was humiliating, degrading, and completely unnecessary. Rather than investigating what appeared to be a payment system issue, Nobu chose to accuse a paying customer of wrongdoing and escalate the situation to law enforcement. I left feeling embarrassed, emotionally distressed, and with my reputation unfairly called into question. I expected professionalism and respect from a restaurant of Nobu's reputation, but instead I was treated like a criminal over what appears to have been their own payment processing problem. I sincerely hope Nobu reviews its procedures, trains its management to handle payment disputes professionally, and ensures that no other customer has to endure the humiliation that I experienced. read more

This place is one of my favorite spots in the states! I've been coming here for years and the food quality is always out of this world! The ambiance is a very dim, sultry lighting which makes it a great date night spot. My friend and I came here for Miami Spice and the menu was so good and the portions were big! My issue on this last visit however, was the service. Our server was very rude and impatient. It also was extremely slow in the restaurant and yet service was still somehow incredibly slow, and the entire dining experience took 3 hours which was very frustrating. We were super excited to have lunch at Nobu on our way out of town especially because we were with two people that love sushi and had never been there before. We understood that the lunch menu was limited and served in the lobby of the hotel. The sushi was excellent but the service and atmosphere did not represent Nobu well. I can't imagine that our waiter was actually a Nobu restaurant waiter. Never took away our plates, never came back to refill drinks, got one of our orders, wrong, etc... With the auto 20% gratuity included these guys can do the bare minimum. The lobby of the hotel resembled an old Las Vegas Casino. Visible repairs and maintenance needed everywhere. For the price of lunch, $200 for 4 rolls and chicken wings, there are many other options in South Beach that would've given us a more positive and memorable experience. read more

I had not been to Nobu in Miami since it was at the Shore Club, so yeah, a very long time ago. Well, I am glad to report that it is still as solid as ever. You simply cannot go wrong here. I actually came in with a group of friends because we were eager to try out Miami Spice! Our server, which was very lovely and informative, let us know that it was their first year doing it. As I know about their usual pricing, the Miami Spice menu is really a great deal and a good way to try out their food if you have never been. Literally everything at Nobu is delicious to me, but one of my forever faves will always be the black cod. I enjoyed my mocha mochi brûlée so much and I am not even an ice cream person. This was my first time trying Nobu on Miami Beach, and I tried it for Miami spice, which was a perfect introduction to a place, I've never been. Their Miami spice menu was pretty impressive for only $60 and on top of that they gave us complementary edamame and crispy tuna rice. Rice is my absolute favorite, and it was perfectly crisp and flavorful. I started with a lobster salad, which was perfectly refreshing in what tasted like a lemon vinaigrette. For the main course I chose this steak with chimichurri, cooked to my liking, and the beef was very tender. We finished off with mochi ice cream and it's delicious miso tiramisu. All in all delicious food, but I will say the service was a bit slow. I also felt that the server had judged us for asking for the Miami spice menu. My son took me to Nobu for the Mothers' Day brunch. I have always heard great things about the restaurant and was so excited to finally go! Well ... drum roll please! Everything I heard was true and then some! The food was exquisite! They had a cold station with a variety of sushi rolls, sashimi, nigiri, mini poke bowls, refreshing salads, some with a hint of ginger. My o my lol Needless to say after I tried all the hits at the warm stations, I went back to the cold station for more. This section also had very delicate scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. Behind the individual stations they had beautiful charcuterie boards with beautiful deli cuts. There was a station with a barbecued pork on bao buns. The chef at that stations name is Lexxi. The meat looked stunning and I asked her what it was. The excitement she expressed explaining her creation was contagious!! One of the carvings stations had tenderloin, I think. (No idea what meat, but it was so tender and delicious), with mini roasted potatoes in different sizes and colors. A beautiful presentation but not more amazing than the taste. One of the stations was all mini seafood dishes. I grabbed one of each since I wanted to try everything. There were these balls on a stick that I fell in love with. I think they were stuffed with octopus surrounded by a soft, creamy center and crispy outside texture. There were shrimp with grits and dishes I did not ask what they were, but loved. There was another station that I never made it to since I wanted more sushi and to leave room for dessert. I took one of each decadent dessert and cut it in half to share with my son. I can't even tell you my favorite because they were all wonderful and varied! I guess you know I loved the food. Let's talk about our server, Miguel. What s beautiful personality. He was attentive to our every request but what was even more incredible, is he also knew what we wanted without our asking! He made suggestions about the food, surprised us with awesome drinks and we always had a fresh napkin. Joel, was not our server but he also came by and asked if we'd like something taken away. I had to mention him too! You could tell he was happy to be of service. The managers on the floor, checked on us too. I loved Elisa! You could tell she wanted our experience to be unforgettable. The bar manager Maria also came to ask how we were. She was very nice also. I kind of touched on our drinks. I had a Prosecco with a hint of pineapple juice at the outside bar. It was perfect! I wish I had gotten the bartenders name (he was tall, blonde and very handsome). During brunch I ordered my fave a Lychee Martini. All in all, it was a delightful experience. By far this has been one of my favorite Spice dinner, everything on the menu looked interesting and delicious which made it hard to choose. But à decision had to be made and so I ordered as follows. The Salmon Nashi for the appetizer, a unique salmon and pear sashimi with truffle and olive oil, each of the 4 pieces packed a burst of flavor in a small bite. The entree of choice for the table was the Black Cod Miso Wraps, 2 pieces of cod, perfectly charred and cooked, eaten in a butter lettuce wrap, a light yet satisfying dish, each bite was mouth watering. Dessert was Satandagi, 2 fried doughs filled with dulce de leche, on top of à passionfruit sauce and served with Nutella ice cream, yummmm! This is a place I would definitely come back to, and try some of the other dishes or even repeat! My 14 year old family member was excited to have the staff sing "Happy Birthday" to her, only for us to be told that we should have asked for it when we booked the reservation (we did) so she didn't get anything special. Attached to their hotel is the Nobu if you have never been to this restaurant, you have to try them out. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted by the hostess and sat at the table. The ambience is so beautiful they have lite music playing in the background. The lighting is perfect for a date night. The restaurant was also beautifully decorated with artwork and things hanging from the ceiling. It was just a beautiful place to walk into. The waiter was amazinggggg! He was personable, kind, knowledgeable, just everything you want when going to a restaurant. The food!! Oh man the food... was so delicious! Everything that I tried had an abundance of flavor. The steak just melted in your mouth. It was perfectly cooked. The dumplings had to be by far the best item that I tried. They had so much flavor. Everything just smashed so well together. Nice decor. Very soothing and creates the zen atmosphere you'd expect. Wait staff was very attentive throughout. However, we were less than enthralled by the food. No question the food was mostly pretty good, but not the amazing experience we were expecting, given the reputation and prices. We even debated sending back our final dish of the night, a creamy, spicy snow crab concoction. The crab was fine, but the creamy sauce was not to our liking. For a dish that with tax and mandatory gratuity made it add about $65 to the bill, it was an extremely disappointing finish. We decided to skip dessert as a consequence. Mandatory gratuities are encountered more often than not in the Miami area. Of the four dinners we've eaten so far on this trip, three had service charges ranging from 18-22%. Last time we were in the area I believe one had a 25% mandatory service charge. Personally, I find this policy obnoxious, but it is this area's prevailing custom. I can only guess it's due to the fact there are so many tourists from other parts of the world where tipping customs vary. In any case, three sushi rolls and three main course with a single glass of wine came to almost three hundred dollars. All the portions were just adequate to small. Even if the final dish were not disappointing, I could not accord the restaurant more than four stars. While the other dishes were all very good, not one was spectacular to warrant the prices. read more
