I went to the location on Aragon Avenue in Coral Gables (from out of town and just happened to walk by) but I can not even find that location on Apple or Google Maps. All I know is when it came to pay, I had to pay two separate bills to a business called Shimuja Ramen Stall 308 and a business called Iron Sushi, which is already super weird/ shady and confusing. So all's to say I am going to leave this review both here and on Iron Sushi. This was one of the worst "meals" I've ever had in my life. I had the Tokyo Shoyu, which had just two slices of 'pork belly'- even less than one of the buns I ordered-which really needed like pickled daikon or something to cut through it- it was just mayo (?)not even Asian Kewpie and lettuce (?) which just did not belong there. Sure it's fine to mix cultural ingredients but from this meal, I have a feeling that was not the intention. Back to the ramen- the broth had no depth whatsoever. Way too many noodles, that didn't even taste fresh. It was the cheapest ramen on the menu but even then I overpaid for this small bowl at 20$. My sister's meal looked pretty terrible and from what I tasted was incredibly overseasoned. The edamame were basically inedible unless you carefully popped the peas out of the shell but even then the salt on your hands after popping them out would shock the hell out of your taste buds. I've been eating at this restaurant for more than two months, ordering the exact same meals every week. Even though I speak fluent Spanish, I constantly have a very hard time placing my order -- the staff simply can't seem to remember one simple order for three people that I've repeated for weeks. Today, I ordered the same thing again for takeaway, and when I got home, one meal was missing because they just didn't make it. This level of service is unacceptable. I really don't recommend anyone to visit this restaurant until they change their management and train their staff properly. We are staying in a hotel nearby and was craving something we could take up in our room after hanging at the beach all day. We checked yelp and the reviews weren't too alarming so decided to stop by a get some takeout. The rolls we got were delicious and definitely hit the spot. Is a small place that you can either get it to go or eat in. There's no table service you need to order at the counter. Great option if you looking for something quick and un expensive. I was walking by that place a lot of times but yesterday decided to try it for the first time. Good things are that they have nice and cozy place inside. The quality of the food is just ok, California roll and jb roll were ok, edemame had too much pepper and oil, fried rice was also just ok. The young lady at the register was nice and friendly but some basic things should be improved, like paying attention to the customer order, offering napkins and asking if more then 1 set of chopsticks needed if there are 4 items. Ordered here via Uber eats. One thing I will say if you plan to order, you cannot make any special requests to your food so that is frustrating. Also they are pretty traditional when it comes to the Ramen, there are no options they don't have pork, and very few vegetarian options on the entire menu. So if you are looking for a place with those options this is not here. Everything that we got was cooked well and overall it all had great flavor, I definitely suggest the nigiri it was really good and fresh. And well size, I would definitely come back to eat here again, but I will probably go in person so I can make special requests to my order. read more

This was a good fast lunch. I found the chicken teriyaki bowl to be a little too heavy but my partner really liked it. Miso was great. Sushi was average for this type of place. We left full and happy and that's what matters. I will note that they very clearly need help staffing wise (like most of America rn). I didn't judge them or let the service affect my rating because it didn't seem fair. They didn't have a kitchen staff so they turned down several orders because they couldn't make them. The cashier was overwhelmed and obviously (and vocally lol) frustrated. We didn't hold it against them bc we get it, but if you're the kind of person that values service more then I'd suggest ordering this one as delivery instead. read more

We came here for lunch on a Saturday coming from the beach. This place has a really tiny dining room and 3 tables outside so it can be busy depending on when you get here. Now prices are really democratic for Miami and for South Beach especially and that's because the quality of sushi here is really average at most. The basic things like ginger and soy sauce are not the ones you're probably used to, the ginger was super soggy and the soy sauce was really salty, like really salty. We ordered 3 rolls and like I said before pretty average but it's priced right I think, so anyway, if you'd like to save some money and don't mind it can probably stop by, but I will just go to the next place next time around :) read more

Nothing seemed sanitary ( and you can't even see the whole kitchen from the dining area) , but the sushi preparer continued wiping his knife on the same dirty towel after every use. (Eel's one of my favorite things, so I couldn't resist.) I wasn't feeling the eel sadly, as the slices weren't too thick, and the soy sauce was, well, wimpy. Ya it's as bad as the reviews suggest. I went in. I was the only customer. The beer on display that I ordered I found out later that they didn't have. I ordered the Miami ramen, and the cashier and the cook were seemingly arguing, so I just said I'll get the miso ramen. Ramen was as basic as possible. I noticed after that they still charged me for the Miami ramen price. It was a depressing experience to be served and to see how the shop was run. Met with racism by cashier Noa. I went in very friendly to inquire about a position posted on their store front window. Keep in mind this is a restaurant in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The first question she asked me was do I speak Spanish. I politely asked do I need to speak Spanish in the interview. She informed me I would not be a candidate for hire because I did no speaky Spani? I then asked her her name as I had given her mine and when I asked her what her name was her reply was why? Well, the reason why is because I'm speaking to you and have addressed you with my name and I am seeking employment speaking to the person who is responsible for this shift because no one else was in so I think it's appropriate to exchange names. I don't think I was asking anything too extravagant. I however persisted and let her know that I have Timekettle headphones that translate over 90 languages perfectly and that language would not be a problem. She said we no allowed to use phone at work. I tried to help her understand that I would not be using the phone for personal conversations. That it would be used strictly to pick up the voice of the customer and translate it to me perfectly in English and when I speak back it says what I am saying in Spanish. Completely removing the issue of not speaking a language different from the one spoken in the country where the restaurant is located. She apparently is not educated to the current state of technology in 2023. I was told I could leave my name and number on a piece of paper. I asked if they had applications which I know they do because I prior to the first saw this happening and sent a friend into the restaurant that does speak Spanish the day before, and he was given the application, but for some reason when I asked for an application, I was told there were no applications, and that I could just scribble my number on a piece of paper that I stood outside, looking in the window and watched her crumble up and throw in the trash. Iron sushi if you're reading this, do yourself a favor and Google the name, John Kozyak that is my uncle, possibly the most powerful attorney definitely in Florida and possibly the entire United States. Your practices of discrimination will not go unnoticed and will not be tolerated, and I fully intend to file a lawsuit against your establishment and any other establishment that does not allow a fully able-bodied employable worker to gain employment for not speaking a foreign language in an American country. This is not an interpreters job. This is a job at a restaurant running a cash register, and with the assistance of translation headphones speech is no longer an issue and has not been for quite some time. Now I look forward to speaking to you further, about this matter through my legal counsel. And for the record, is C grade not very good targeted at people who cannot afford quality sushi. Sort of like a sushi Walmart anyway that was my experience.. very poorly handled by the woman who I spoke with. I went twice because my daughter loves sushi and wanted to try it a few days after I was there with my son for a rice bowl. The fried rice bowl was not fried. It was rice with a few add-ins. The chicken was not very good at all. It was very bland and dry. I had to add hot mustard, duck sauce and teriyaki to add flavor and moisten it up. The teriyaki chicken? Dry like the desert. Very bland and boring. The mushrooms in it were actually quite delicious. That was the best part of the meal. This was the second time ordering this bowl. Last week it was much more tender, albeit wasn't actually chicken. We deducted it had to be rib meat. So that wasn't really cool to pass off rib meat as chicken, but that's what they did. My daughter ordered a sampler platter of sushi. It turned out to not be the platter she ordered at all. We didn't complain, we just ate what we could and left. I always eat my meal, I'm a big boy.
