We ordered the salmon, tuna and yellowtail nigiris aburi style as we wanted all of it to be torched. It is a no frills place, simple, bar seats. It was very good. As we sat at the bar, we got to see how precise the small pieces of fish were cut, a bit on the smaller side but still very fresh and staff is Japanese. We ordered the cabbage but it lacked flavor, small plate of raw cabbage as the dressing was too subtle. Agree with some of the other reviews on 18% tip auto added as IMO it is a stretch as the chef is handing you the order. The chef does not smile or interact with anyone. If you're looking for authentic Japanese this is the spot! Was feeling a tad hungry after my flight. I'm quite spoiled by sushi as I live in Los Angeles and came to visit Miami. Starting off, I sat at the very large sushi bar and ordered an Asahi which came ice cold and a hot sake which came piping hot! They even let you choose your own sake cup! I got to use a unique wood sake cup! Service was pleasant and attentive. Now the food. The salmon sashimi was fresh and the chef prepared it right in front of me. He was highly skilled with the knife and removed the bones right in front of you making it look effortless. It came on a bed of fresh seaweed which was a delight. The otoro hand roll melts in your mouth with the perfect rice to fatty tuna ratio. 10/10. I wished they had uni as I originally wanted uni otoro but even without the uni, the hand roll was delightful. Would definitely recommend! The eel hand roll was a punch of flavor! Again, perfect rice to fish ratio. The combination of the hot eel with a punch of unagi melts upon biting in. Full of flavor but you're able to still taste the eel flavor! Now for the bonus. This place sells bottles of sake with their extensive selection. Along with sale, they sell a variety of wines and other products as well including rice! Casual little sushi joint in Brickell consisting of both a sushi counter and tables. They don't take reservations- you pop in and put your name on the waitlist which moves pretty quickly. The staff is friendly and efficient and the food comes with very little wait. The sushi is straightforward and very fresh. The fatty tuna was abundant and amazing. A gentleman seated me, gave me the menu and ticket to place my order, then went to the back. I ordered a small beef ramen, which on the menu included either seaweed salad or gyoza, but I was never offered or served either option. Throughout my visit, the staff member was in the back talking on a speaker. I had to approach the window to get his attention just to pay, and honestly, I could have walked out without him noticing. On top of that, an 18% tip was automatically added, which didn't feel earned given the lack of service. I didn't feel comfortable saying anything at the moment since I was alone, but the experience was disappointing despite the quality of the ramen. We can't say it was a language situation as I know Spanish. With the amount of restaurants in walk-in distance. I think next time will pass this one up. read more

Are here twice in 48 hours; what a charming wait staff and restaurant. The rolls and food is just spectacular, the fish is top tier and their miso soup is some of the best I've had outside of Asia. Service is excellent, the menu is really varied and the rolls were packed and not overly filled with rice which I appreciated. I had the Salmon Ikura Don the first night which was truly outstanding. Hubby tried the Golden Curry Don and neither of us left a grain of their perfectly cooked rice. The next night hubby had the Niku Udon, another friend we brought had the Gyu Don and I had the Yellowtail Scallion Roll and a Scallop Handroll. We shared edamame and both guys got beers Asahi is on draft. There are two three tops and a chefs counter that we saw (I think more tables on the other side), but a great space and amazing food. read more

Unassuming little spot... and a Michelin starred chef is making your sushi! It's confusing to walk in and it seems like a little store with a sushi bar. I lived in Japan for about seven months. It felt like a neighborhood place in Tokyo dropped into Miami. And wait until you taste the sashimi. The yellowtail sashimi I had literally MELTED in my mouth. I previously thought the high end sushi in DC was better. Nope. This place is the new best place in my opinion. It just got better from there. The miso soup, pretty much transported me back to Tokyo.
