    - Great place for omakase - Call to make a reservation and make sure you specify you want to sit at the counter (they only have 4 seats at the counter) - Resy doesn't differentiate between regular tables and counter seating - They have a 10piece nigiri omakase for $75 and 14piece sashimi omakase for $85 - For some reason I thought it was 14 individual pieces of fish. Nope, it's 2 pieces per fish - I'm looking forward to trying the nigiri next time because it's 10 different pieces - Loved the matcha creme brulee (it's quite small) - Restaurant is very quiet on the weekdays - The restaurant is quite hidden, the doors are black from the outside - Chefs are friendly and service is good

Every moment was a tastegasm with them. The flavors added to our sushi were all so simple, but oh so delicious

Wow what a gem ! This is the 3rd time that I have eaten at this restaurant, and every time I'm so impressed. The omikase nigiri pieces melt in your mouth . I highly recommend this place .

I just found a wonderful sushi restaurant near midtown miami, difficult to notice, they do not have a sing on the door. Inside the venue is nice decorated, very japanese style. Excellent service and so fresh fish and seafood. They really exceeded my expectations. We had the omakase nigiri dinner, ikura temaki, hokkaido uni temaki and cali roll, everything was so delicious and super tasty. If you are a sushi lover, this is your place.

The quality of the fish here is top notch. No other place in Miami can compare. The service is unique. They make it feel like you're sitting in your grandparents kitchen. Would recommend any one who loves sushi.

Aoko was such a sweet surprise! Initially it looked like a small space, almost easy to miss. Do NOT miss it! Highly recommend a reservation, although not every table is packed, they do have time to give you extra special service with reservations! We did a little tasting of sorts! Recommend a white wine or their sake! Their Soba Noodles are a MUST HAVE! It is quiet, and even welcoming to little ones.

My friends and I had such an amazing time at Aoko tonight! We decided to go with the omakase, and it was definitely the right choice. Every dish was carefully prepared and beautifully presented, featuring super fresh and high-quality ingredients. Chef Eric's creativity and skill really stood out with each course. With years of experience in top Japanese spots around South Florida, he added a unique and refined twist to everything we tried.

I went with my brother with high expectations as it had been highly recommended but it exceeded my expectations. The Omakase was unique and exotic with a beautiful presentation. We were surprised with an "off the menu" omakase which was a step up and so worth it! The sake was delicious and the experience was what I want for omakase- personable. Can't wait to go back (I already had my second reservation on the books!)

What an incredible gem of a place! I tried out Aoko for the first time with friends and we all went for the nigiri omakase. It was all excellent and I can't wait to return in the future for more. The fish was fresh and flavors were creative and complimented the fish well. You have the option of sitting at a table or at the omakase bar (limited seating). Service was incredible and our server kindly explained each piece to us. We finished up with the matcha crème brûlée for dessert, which was creamy, full of matcha flavor, and not too sweet with a lovely brûléed top. Highly recommend! Street parking was easier than expected for Miami.

Chef Tomo gave a great omakase experience - he is amazing. The sushi is unbelievable and most flow in from Tokyo. The caviar and truffle touches take the food to a new level. Go now! The whole staff and team - are all terrific. Reservations are a must and only available on Resy R.

I love sushi and Aoko definitely impressed me. It's one of the better sushi spots and the fish was very fresh. We sat at the counter and chatted with the chefs and watched them prepare our food. Great experience, dessert was a great touch. It wasn't too sweet and matcha crème brûlée is not something you can just find anywhere

It is small, beautiful with open space, and intimate that you will enjoy very much. The music is piped in and is relaxing. They provide excellent service and show pride of ownership. We didn't have reservations but we were welcomed and even received the best seats in the house. Our server was Francisco, who has worked there a long time, was excellent! We chose the Oma Deluxe because we wanted the entire experience. Francisco explained each sushi and what part of the fish we were eating. Each dish was brought out separately. There were about 9 pieces of different cuts of fish. They were delicious! My daughter had Sake and I had Non-alcoholic beer. Both went fine with our meal. Afterwards, we were served dessert. What a great experience! Give it a try when you can. Later, we went upstairs to ASTRA restaurant and bar to further enjoy our evening with beautiful views of Miami. Parking is mostly limited street parking though, so plan ahead. This spot is more about curated tastings, sashimi, nigiri, and handrolls rather than specialty rolls, so don't expect a huge roll menu. We ordered the sashimi assortment, white fish tasting, seared salmon, bluefin tuna tasting, unagi foie gras, and a few handrolls including blue crab and negi toro. Everything tasted super fresh and flavorful, especially the bluefin and unagi foie gras. Portions are on the lighter side though, so we left satisfied but not totally full. Cedrick was awesome and really made the experience better. He knew the menu inside and out and explained everything perfectly. Definitely worth checking out if you're in Wynwood and want quality sushi without the overly trendy vibe.

From the moment we arrived, the ambiance and location created the perfect atmosphere for a special evening. The food truly exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend the Miso Black Cod -- it was phenomenal and had the same rich, buttery texture as Chilean sea bass. Absolutely delicious. The Wagyu Burger was also outstanding -- freshly ground, high quality, and cooked perfectly. We also tried one of their sushi rolls topped with miso and filled with fresh tuna and salmon, and it was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. You can really taste the quality in every bite. Our server (I didn't catch her name -- an Asian woman, possibly in her 40s) was wonderful and made our experience even more enjoyable with her attentive and warm service. Booked same-day on OpenTable, seated immediately on a packed Friday night. The covered terrace is stunning -- Japanese paper lanterns, string lights, tropical foliage. The Dragon Fruit Lemonade mocktails arrived orchid-garnished and vivid fuchsia. My Wahakan Old Fashioned came with a single spherical ice ball in a crystal-cut glass. Food highlights: Baby Corn in parmesan cream with paprika was the dish of the night. Crispy Truffle Fried Rice hearty and satisfying. Miso soup clean. Salmon Furai solid. Sushi enjoyable though the rice lacks the refinement of Miami's top raw bars. Vegetarians: limited options -- one Veggie Roll and uncertain tofu preparation when we asked to add it to the rice. Service warm but plates were cleared twice while we were still eating. On billing: 20% service charge added automatically, then the receipt suggests an extra 2-5% tip on top -- worth knowing upfront. OpenTable users: if you're redeeming a Dining Reward card, the staff hadn't encountered one before -- but the manager handled it graciously and honored the full amount without issue. Family-friendly, fair value, genuinely memorable evening.

We got there a bit before our reservation time, and they let us sit in the smaller dining area as we waited for our spots to open up. We all did the $200 tasting and we were all pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of the bites. It's 8 courses that range from a nigiri sampler, small bites, and dessert. Most memorable were the clam broth, beef loin and carrots, and the fatty tuna nigiri with caviar on top. The fatty tuna nigiri with caviar was the main reason I wanted the tasting! There is an à la carte menu too, but it was a lot easier just letting the chefs portion out our meal. Would definitely check them out and enjoy a superb evening out!

The hovering over people in this tiny, little whole in the wall restaurant felt overwhelming. I started to lose my patience being that there is so much staff standing around and found myself several times having to pour my own wine bottle. 2nd, I told them it was my son's birthday and nobody went out of their way to make his birthday special! And just a fair warning, you will spend over a $1000 dollars and walk out of there still very hungry! What a disappointment! Furthermore, I was under the impression that the owner was from Japanese when he's not. -Just another greedy elite price gouging people trying to pass off as if his restaurant is Michelin worthy! An absolute joke! And here's the "best part" when I tried to voice my concerns, I was told to leave! All the plates and dishes were just so stunning. The other thing that really stood out was the service. They were so friendly and helpful. I truly appreciate when servers know their menu well and are able to make suggestions. I can't remember my server's name, but she was just top-notch. We ordered: - Miso soup, (served in a charming, Japanese chawan mushi cup) the flavor was really good and strong. (I hate it when it's weak) - Spicy dumplings. They tasted homemade. Yummy - Shrimp shu mai, good, tasted as it should - Tanaka roll, with extra crispies on top, (I was not a fan because I did not expect it to be deep-fried. if it had not been deep-fried, I would've liked it.) - Peking duck served in an impressive three tier tower that looks like a round Chinese Temple. - Pork Belly Bao bun, this was also a miss for me because I expected it to taste like barbecue, but it was just really salty like they used a lot of brown salty sauce. All in all, I really enjoyed this restaurant, even though I didn't like those two items. Bec But, because of the excellent service, the atmosphere and the beautiful way they served the food, I decided to leave them a five star review. Those dishes weren't bad they just weren't what I expected. We don't live in the area so if we were to stay in this hotel again, we would definitely dine here again.
