I came here for the Omakase experience with a friend of mine and left having the most memorable sushi experience in my life. I mean..that's not even food, it's art. Chef Bryan skillfully prepared his freshly arranged pieces of Nigiri and Sashimi in ways that I've never witnessed before. The bold zesty flavors of artisanal Japanese cuisine overcoming my palate made me feel like I was turning Japanese with every bite. The menu is daring yet simplistic which presents a dichotomy that I openly welcome. Kathy was the Sous Chef that helped bring his creations to fruition with pristine service and etiquette. Truly, this spot is a great beyond words. YES, YOU NEED RESERVATIONS. NO, YOU CANNOT BE LATE. I do recommend bringing a nice bottle of sake to accompany your dinner because it really amplifies the whole experience. This spot is for the true sushi lovers who dodge mediocrity. Ahí Sushi is perfect for even the most discerning palate. It's a very small and intimate experience so take in the moment because it's gone before you know it. I personally can't wait to return.

Hey listen guys, I'd like it if you stay away from this place. A few reasons: 1. This place has no teriyaki, no tempura, no ramen. And definitely no pad thai, tom yum, or other dishes that you may think is Japanese (saying this because a friend of mine got a 1 star rating for not serving pad thai in her Japanese restaurant). They just focus on what they do best. 2. No colorful dragon, sex on the beach... If you want colorful rolls drenched in sauces for your instagram, go elsewhere. 3. It's a small place, with about 6-8 seats at the counter. Yes, like what you may find when you walk down an alley in Tokyo. No privacy! Totally should take your date somewhere else. Yup, go back to "search" and look elsewhere! And if you are still reading, let me further dissuade you: 4. You like your spicy mayo dunking sauce? Well, Chef Brian won't even let us dip our aburi salmon into soy sauce or wasabi, as he feels that his nigiri, with a slice of fried garlic, is perfection manifested (so forget about ). Truth be told, I can't disagree. As Chef said, the yakumi pairing is spot on. Yakumi literally means medicinal flavor, and likely originated in the medicinal property of garlic, scallion and the like, but the word today is synonym with aromatics: the teeny dollop of daikon, scallion and the like on sushi, noodles, and other food add complexity and elevate the taste to another level. BTW the tuna salad is another winner with the perfect balance of wasabi, soy and vinegar to make every bite stimulating. 5. Eating here is a dangerous one way street. Serious warning: You won't be happy with sushi buffets and supermarket sushi again. So yeah, don't let me walk in and see you taking my seat and making me wait two hours for my sushi. Stay away!!!!

If you're a real sushi lover and don't care about all the fluff you'll find in Brickell or South Beach you need to try this place! When I tell you that their fish melts in your mouth I am not exaggerating. The fish is shipped directly from Japan and the quality is just . I would recommend everything on the menu especially if you're a picky eater because you will be pleasantly surprise how good sushi is when it's prepared the way it is here. Definitely make a reservation and experience the Omakase menu as it's the best this place has to offer and actually one of the best Omake experiences in Miami without the large bill!

How do you say, omakase in spanglish? My girlfriend and I stumbled on this little hole-in-the-wall sushi restaurant accidentally on purpose one night. And it was a night to remember.... Located in the heart of Little Havana (pero que?), it's main feature is how small and intimate it is. An unassuming storefront simply displays its name and address, inside a small four seat counter leaves barely any room to get by, but from behind the counter, comes delectable delicacies of sushi stardom. Dining is a-la-carte or omakase (there's that word again). Everything is fresh daily until it runs out, and believe me, it does run out. The chef brilliantly prepared each piece with care, expertise, and beautiful technique that will leave you wanting more. The menu is simple and select with only the very best in fresh fish and ingredients. It's an experience you don't want to miss. Until next time, see you on Yelp! *This sushi restaurant is from the same minds that brought us Lung Yai Thai Tapas just down the street. Another amazing eatery which I have reviewed before.

Quite the experience! The place is small yet inviting, clean and cute. We came for the omakase and were blown away. The seafood is extremely fresh and the chef prepares the most delicious dishes. The sashimi practically melted in your mouth. The different fish options were just buttery and tender. And the flavors were just fantastic! An unexpected explosion of flavor in your mouth. The chef artfully prepares each dish before you and it it's served by his assistant and he explains everything in detail. You will have the pleasure of tasting around 10 different dishes...all unique and amazing. Seating is only at the bar and for about a total of eight people. Make sure you have reservations and pick the omakase option. It won't disappoint. It is definitely and interesting find in this area.

If you walk down 8th street too fast, you'll miss this hole in the wall sushi spot. Omakase is the specialty here and you would have made a mistake if you choose anything else. The food is so thoughtfully prepared and executed that you are excited to see chef put each dish together. It's just chef and his assistant serving the six seat room and it makes for an intimate experience. This is hands down the best sushi in Miami.

    Hamachi nigiris

It's quite an experience, feeling how the fish melts in your mouth with perfect temperature of the rice and the touch of flavor that is a chef's surprise. Chef Brian gives you a great service, explaining how to eat and what you are eating plus his music make the ambiance perfect. My favorite OMAKASE in Miami.

Omg, what a great experience. Highly recommended. Do the tasting menu. The best sushi I have ever had and I didn't have to go to Japan. It only seats 5 people at a time so it's definitely a great date spot. Im going to throw something out there, for those of you who know, Jiro got nothing on this . This is "Brion Dreams of Sushi"

お任せ The more I learn about food, and different cultures; the more I live. My first time having an #omakase experience. My hat to Chef Bryan of Ahi for his distinct input in the Miami food scene, particularly in such an area like Little Havana where Cuban cuisine dominates every corner Ahi is like stepping into an effortlessly achieved good-vibe. I honestly recommend this place to everyone. Very high quality passion here! Oh, and don't get me started on the name

    Jaday M.

This place is a hidden gem in Little Havana. I don't normally venture out into Little Havana, but I was on the hunt for a true Omakase experience. We had the Tokujo experience and it was superb. Keep in mind, you do have to reserve in advance to enjoy this. The restaurant itself is a tiny, unassuming space, but don't be fooled by this. The food and the experience are what truly shine. If you enjoy Japanese cuisine, this place is a must. We enjoyed our time with the chef, a little Sake, and the most delicious raw fish in Miami. I was told they get their fish from Japan fresh every day. You can definitely tell by the taste.

Stopped in when my brother was visiting town and he really wanted sushi. I called ahead of time to confirm there was room for 2 and was asked if I wanted to join the 730PM seating and if I wanted the omakase. I always sort sushi restaurants into one of two camps: 1) rolls only or 2) a place where you should skip the rolls and get the nigiri / sashimi. The few other sushi restaurants I've visited in Miami thus far have all been in the "rolls only" camp. From the outside, Ahi Sushi looked like it would be a place where you could get nigiri / sashimi so we decided to get the omakase. The omakase is $80 per person and is 10 'courses.' The courses range from 1-4 pieces per 'course' and included various nigiri, sashimi, and tartare. Overall, everything we had was good but nothing was 'wow.' The highlights were the seared salmon with garlic chip, bluefin tuna tartare, and the uni. That said though, I left hungry still. A few more pieces would have left me feeling satisfied and happier about the $80 price.

My only complaint is that food came out a bit slow, especially considering it wasn't very busy at the time. Like serve me all my orders all at once pleaseeeeee so I can indulge lol What I Had: _________________ Sashimi Assortment - 10/10 Freaking delicious. Light, decadent, and incredibly fresh. Each piece tasted clean and high-quality, the kind of sashimi that melts the second it hits your mouth. They did their thing! Kanpachi Sashimi - 10/10 So good. Soft, delicate, and perfectly fresh. Every bite was balanced and flavorful without being heavy at all. Nigiri - White Fish Tasting - 11/10 Hands down my favorite part of my experience. I ordered multiple rounds (they come two per order), including branzino and snapper. The branzino was unreal. I wanted only branzino... that is how marvelous it was. Topped with this umami crunch that added so much texture and flavor. It was literally mouthwatering, like a burst of flavor in every bite. I honestly could've kept ordering this all night. Nigiri - Bluefin Tuna Tasting - 5/10 This one just wasn't for me. It wasn't fishy, but the texture was very slimy and didn't sit well in my mouth. It didn't swallow smoothly and just wasn't appetizing to me personally. Definitely a pass. Blue Crab Hand Roll - 6.5/10 I know this is a fan favorite, but it was just okay for me. Not bad at all, just didn't wow me compared to everything else I had. For $6, it's fine, but I wouldn't rush to reorder it. Customer Service: 8.5/10 Friendly and helpful, just slightly slow. There is a small ramp leading you up to the restaurant which can be easily missed if you don't know what to look for. I had made reservations earlier in the day through Open Table and had to wait a short while to be seated. I had indicated in the reservation that we were coming to celebrate a birthday but none of the staff acknowledged this. The restaurant was busy but not too loud. Despite hearing a lot about the ambiance, I did not think the decor was anything out of this world. Given that this was our first time at the restaurant, we took our time looking over the menu. I felt that the waitress was a bit impatient and wanted us to make up our minds. She never offered any suggestions and when we told her we needed a minute she took that literally and did not seem happy we needed more than the additional 60 seconds she provided. We ordered the crispy rice (2 pieces tuna and 2 pieces salmon), the classic ceviche, Paper Tuna roll, Salmon Furai roll, Spicy Tuna roll, and Hamachi Jalapeño roll. I had indicated to the waitress that we wanted the crispy rice and ceviche to start with the rolls brought afterwards, but the sushi came out before anything else. She then brought out the wrong ceviche and the proper order was not brought out until the end of our meal. Despite these mishaps, the table agreed that the food was good. We felt that the ceviche was a bit small but this may have been due to the kitchen rushing the order out. While the sushi was tasty, there are plenty of other sushi spots around Miami that offer similar rolls. Towards the end of our meal, we secretly asked our waitress to bring out a dessert as a surprise to the birthday guest. She then proceeded to clear the table, bring out spoons, and announce that the dessert would be out shortly. Overall, I would not come here to celebrate a special occasion. The service was disappointing and while the food was good, there wasn't anything unique that would justify coming out to Brickell to eat here again.

The ambience is secluded and warm without losing its chic feeling. The two chefs had a great personality and we had great conversations. The food was absolutely amazing. Each course had a completely distinct flavor profile and played off one another very well. None where so over powering that it made the other seem bland. Extremely well balanced with amazing flavors. For a nice night out. Stay at the beach for the weekend, take an uber to the restaurant, immerse yourself for an hour or so of culinary delight, and let the outside world melt away in the experience.

We normally check the Michelin Guide first but there's none for Miami so we decided to browse through Tock for fun. This was how we stumbled upon Sushi Bar and we are so glad we did! The price point of $185 per seating is super worth it. You get a lot of fish and they are very creative with each nigiri. Their spin on it shows their creative side (with Miami flavors) but is not super over the top and sauce does not drown out the freshness of the fish. Something that stood out to me was how they shaved frozen monkfish liver as a topping. I wanna go back just for that!! They also had some pieces where they smoked the fish. Besides the food, I thought it was very creative how they welcomed guests with a welcome drink at the hotel bar. This was so unique! We finished ours early, and had some of their other drinks - they were all very good! Once they're ready, a server came to get us from the hotel bar and led us through an alleyway to a separate building which was where the actual omakase was taking place. The atmosphere was dark and gave off speakeasy vibes, which I thought was different to other omakase places. Bar is spacious enough to still have private conversations. We did the beverage pairing and we really appreciated the sommelier's knowledge. Overall, we would want to come back again for another tasting experience!!
