We started out to the le tigre ceviche and it was amazingly fresh. I ordered the duck confit as a main and my boyfriend had the grilled steak with veggies and rice. We both enjoyed everything. Jarana has a great vibe and was lively but not overly noisy.

You just need to put yourself in the hands of Chef Martha Palacios. She just dropped a new menu with amazing crispy rice, which to be honest, may be my favorite crispy rice right now. It's sort of shaped like a pizza and it has a good amount of fish and ikura. You know we love Ikura here. It was a table slapper for sure. They also have their own version of hummus which I think (if they tell you to eat more greens this is what they mean, served with crisp flatbread it's like a pillow! Oh and I found out they have a happy hour called 4-5-6-7, everything on this menu is at that range. Oh and they have a josper grill which I had no idea what that was but it looks so cool!. Probably why this anticuchos was so good. Their milanesa they incorpated peruvian corn which I love and of course we had to get the classic duck rice dish, Jarana located in the Abbey of the Aventura is a can't miss!

(5/5) We visited…read morePollo & Jarras in Aventura for dinner this weekend and once again, it did not disappoint! Parking is free since it's located at the mall, which makes it very convenient. The vibe is fun and vibrant cute inflatable donut decorations and colorful piñatas hanging from the ceiling make it feel lively but still comfortable for dinner. This was my second visit, and consistency is everything for me. The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out hot. They start you off with a sample of their chicken soup, and it's so good that I always order the full bowl. Definitely a must-try. The prices are reasonable with great shareable portions. The drinks were strong and actually tasted good no watered-down cocktails here! Service was excellent. The staff was attentive, checked in on us, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. We ordered the Del Carajo with lambayeque rice and French fries, and everything was cooked perfectly. Why 5 stars? Consistent food quality Strong, good drinks Attentive service Kid-friendly Great value for the price I would absolutely recommend and will definitely be back again!

The seating is tight. While there was a mini coat hanger inbetween tables to place belongings, it made it difficult to maneuver around to get in and out of the seat. Even getting to the table was difficult sharing narrow aisles with servers and wait staff going to and fro the kitchen. The staff were kind and attentive. The food was robust in flavor and well portioned. The different sauces in the table caddy were a nice variety of flavors to pair with the food. I really enjoyed the aioli-like sauce with the beef/pepper sandwich. The bun was lightly toasted but had a nice fluffy chew. The restaurant adjacent (CVI.CHE 105) to this place share the same owner so we were able to order items (ie, cerviches, sushi rolls, etc) from there too. Very Tasty, would definitely recommend if you have a Peruvian craving!

The service is incredible, the chef and other staff were quick and very attentive, making sure each dish is crafted to perfection. It's a very casual spot but the presentation of the food is up to par with some of the Michelin star restaurants you can find in the city. I do want to note that each group is served one at a time. We unfortunately showed up right after a group of 6 with another party of 2 already at the counter. The chef takes the order of the party that comes in first. The group of two ordered almost everything on the menu and the group of six put in multiple things meaning we were not able to put in an order until 6:30. Though this does make sense since there were only 3 people preparing the food, it was unfortunate since we were hungry and waited an hour to put in our first order. That being said, the food was incredible. We got the fish ceviche, spicy. tuna causa, and the cilantro lime rice. If you like spicy, get the ceviche spicy! It was one of the best ceviches I've ever had. The causa was very well balanced and the cilantro rice had a good amount of seafood in it. Everything was so beautifully prepared we almost didn't want to eat it! Overall, the food and service is amazing and I think the food is fairly priced for the amount of time and attention is put into each dish. But do be warned about the waiting time.

No reservations just walk-in. I highly recommend not going here too hungry because you'll most likely have to wait... but don't let that scare you because the food is definitely worth the wait. We ordered seafood ceviche, Parmesan scallops, arroz, and 2 crudos. I can't tell you how perfect and fresh every bite was. I savored every dish -- wow. It was so good we ordered the ceviche dish twice.

If you're looking for truly authentic Peruvian cuisine, this may not be the place for you. As a Peruvian myself--very proud of my culture and our rich, flavorful cuisine--I felt the food did not meet traditional Peruvian standards. The anticucho was not grilled, and it seemed to have far too much ají especial or red Peruvian dried pepper. The jalea de mariscos was excessively dark, which suggested old oil was used, and it was quite dry. While the overall flavor was acceptable, the portions of fish and seafood were very small. The picarones (Peruvian doughnuts) were made with white flour, whereas the authentic recipe uses sweet potato and pumpkin flour; however, the syrup was good. The pollo a la brasa had good flavor but was dry, and the fried potatoes were just okay. This place used to be top-notch, but unfortunately, it no longer lives up to that reputation. Prices range from approximately $20 to $25 per dish.

When we flagged it to our waitress, she came back with the chef's response claiming it was just "a different size" of corvina. That is not how fish works. I will not be returning.
