Cute little Peruvian restaurant I stumble across while in the area. Doesn't look like much on the outside because it is in a strip mall but there are plenty of restaurants right there and I was happy with my decision to go in here. Waiter was very friendly and since I was his only customer he took extra care of me ! I've never had roasted corn and at first I was like no thank you but while I was waiting on my meal it was nice to snack on. I enjoyed and was glad that it was iceberg lettuce. Not sure what type of dressing was served with it but I couldn't complained. Now to the entree.. yeap great decision it was a little salty but I cleared the entire plate so I guess I didn't mind lol. The food here was absolutely fantastic and felt so authentic (according to my Peruvian friend). My friend and I shared the ceviche, which was legitimately spicy. Wow it's the best meal I had in this strip mall.. don't be intimidated with the names of the dishes. Wish they had the crab causas - they were out so we had the shrimp instead. The shrimp itself is bland like a shrimp cocktail but the rest of the dish was delicious. We added that green spicy sauce to all of our dishes. We used up the entire bottle. The Tallarin verse con bistec was amazing. Plenty of pesto flavor. I had the spicy shrimp and it's wasn't spicy but it was good. Overall, it was a very filling dish. What a wonderful dinner experience I had at this restaurant. Upon sitting down, they quickly served us with Peruvian popcorn which I had for the first time and I loved it. When I checked in through yelp, I got a free glass of wine coupon and the drink I got was delicious. I had also already ordered a pisco sour which was also tasty but also pretty small. For my entree, I got the seafood rice which was similar to Paella and I savored every bite. The rice was flavorful filled with shrimp, mussels, and plenty calamari as well as some veggies. I totally recommend. My husband got the shrimp fried rice but asked them to make it a seafood fried rice instead which they did without any additional charges. He loved the dish. I had a bite and almost drooled. Both our dishes were scrumptious. Our waitress was very kind and friendly. The staff in general were pleasant. I would def come back here in the future. Their causa was SO good and I love the fact that they have a bottle of their spicy green sauce (no need to ask for more). I also got the tallarines verdes and pollo saltado. The ceviche flavors were phenomenal! Super tasty and very fresh! JJ said their specialty was the octopus so of course we had to try it and it was the most tender and flavorful octopus we've ever had. Today was salty and mediocre food. This was my second time in a week coming to this restaurant and I thought the experience would be at least as good as the last time even when service was slow. The waitress wasn't helpful and she was dismissive never offered to take the order for drinks just to wait more than 10 minutes to get attention at my inquiry to another server. She passed a few times by our table without even looking at us. Terrible service. She couldn't even take the order without mistake. Food took forever to be served. I was hoping to enjoy the Peruvian culinary experience but food was salty and service even worse. I understand they might be understaffed but customers are not at fault on the contrary we want to keep coming back but I expected a more welcoming and better service for me and my teenage kids during vacation. read more

This is a small restaurant I stumbled upon near Sunny Isles beach. This was my second time going but the first time I went I found it because I was craving ceviche after a beach day and their Leche de Tigre was deliciously satisfying. This time around I tried what you see in the pictures. The noodles were a perfect texture and very tasty. The meat was a bit overcooked for the term I requested and it did not have the best taste. The Peruvian beer, Cusqueña, was a great pairing with the food. Both times I went the service was pretty slow but they are not rude so that's good. The lunch menu prices are great and it brings the main plate with an appetizer. Overall I recommend for a bite after the beach but mainly for its ceviche. P.S. During our Fourth of July celebration, we were visiting our cousin at the beach and we were in the mood of some Peruvian food and was recommended El Tayta. Located in a strip mall in the heart of Sunny Isle, you will this simple Peruvian Bistro. We were a big group of twelve and the waiter had us seated within minutes. The menu was very extensive and all the well known dishes were included, so we ordered the grilled seafood dish and breaded fish chunks for the kids. The fish chunks consisted fresh fish lightly breaded and super tasty. The seafood dish consisted of calamari rings, octopus tail, shrimp, grilled fish, and half of a baked potato. Perfectly grilled and well seasoned with the stand out being the octopus very tender. For dessert we ordered the picarones which are Peruvian donuts which are made of sweet potato dough deep fried and topped with a honey syrup. I love this local Peruvian restaurant! It's a decent size place and the food is delicious. This was probably my second or 3rd time dining in and it didn't fail me. Usually I order the Rice dish, but this time I wanted to switch it up with the fried fish. It was good, but a tad bit over cooked where it was a little too hard and I couldn't get all of the flavors. The saving grace with the garlic butter sauce. Thought it felt a little unhealthy, I knew it was worth the calories - but who's really counting here!? I'd definitely recommend this place to someone wanting Peruvian, because of its convenience and ambiance. However; I might not recommend the fish just because fried fish can be hit or miss.
