Top notch experience! There's just something so intimate about sitting bartop and the chef preparing every dish in front of you, just for you. We were celebrating a fellow yelp elites bday and we got together to dine here, as she chose it. So happy she did. We had to wait a bit to get seated as the place is small but so worth it. Every dish was a work of art. We literally wanted to try everything off the menu. Standouts were the Parmesan crusted oven backed scallops in their shells, the octopus in an amazing med olive creamy sauce, the seafood rice which had green grains, and the ceviche. Great place to share dishes to sample many. For dessert the dish included the Peruvian fruit Luca, with cream, and coffee brown sugar plus pistachios. Another work of art and delicious. I highly recommend you check them out. Only downside was the barstools. Our booties were hurting by the end of the night haha.

I have never had raw fish outside of sushi. I wasn't sure what I'd think of ceviche but the pictures were so pretty I had to try it. We were visiting Miami for a week and wanted to try something new. I wish we had tried more! My personal favorite was the olive octopus with the truffle scallops a close second. But honestly it was all good! Food came faster than expected. They were polite and friendly. It is an intimate experience with a maximum of 12 diners. We would definitely come back the next time we are in Miami!

Minuscule restaurant west of the railroad in nameless street mall. As the name states (barra is counter in Spanish) seating is limited to about 12 seats at the counter. There is limited space to wait indoors, and the restaurant did not take reservations. You seat and the waitress explains the system. She takes the drink order, and the chef, behind the counter, takes the food order in arrival order. Service was top notch, very convivial and efficient. We ordered the ceviche mixto, oysters and spicy tuna causa. The chef adjusts the spiciness to order. All dishes were top level with amazing presentation and complex flavor combinations. For the quality, prices were risible. We finished our meal with a baked Alaska, perhaps the only forgettable dish of the evening. An 18% service fee is automatically added to the bill. Highly recommended, a real gem for a date or to hang out with a good friend.

Being Peruvian is really hard to find a good Peruvian Restaurant and be totally pleased. This is not the case when you eat at Barra Callao. Everything is delicious! the food is prepare at the moment in front of you by the chef, there is a wait because as soon as the chef gets your order he starts prepping your food until he gets to next costumer, there is a wait, but well worth it. The ambience is different, you get to sit and eat at the bar. That's why it's called Barra (Spanish for BAR). Highly recommended.

Espectacular experiencia.100% recomendable. Ah, y el ambiente súper chévere!!!

Holy moly. Talk about a hole-in-the-wall. Located in an unassuming plaza, you'll be greeted by the vibrant neon signs hung in the windows making the place stick out from the other businesses in the plaza. Theres 4 people total working here. The main chef, sous chef, kitchen helper, and a waitress. All are very nice and you will receive great service, but you can definitely tell they are in the zone and focused on their craft. The seafood is amazing and fresh. It's so good that I've been 5 times in the past 4 weeks with different groups! You have to come and try. Just a few tips: Parking is definitely limited and there are only 12 bar style seating so not a good place to go if you have a large group. They only allow each party to order once all at one time in the beginning to help expedite the turnover of each group.

PHENOMENAL!!! The best Peruvian! Tiny 12 seats at the bar so be prepared to wait outside. Ceviche so fresh and the best. Loved the cilantro rice, olive octopus, and scallops! The vibe is great with incredible upbeat music. Chef is sooo nice and super super talented. Love this place!!!

This restaurant is a little gem. It's very small with limited seating that aren't that comfortable. But we are here for the food and it's amazing. The staff is very attentive and you get to see all the preparation of each dish, talk to the chef, and ask him questions. Nothing in this menu will disappoint. I went with two other friends and we almost of everything in the menu. All the dishes unique in taste but each crated an explosion of flavors.

If you're looking for a hidden gem that delivers an unforgettable dining experience, this is it. A true hole-in-the-wall, this Peruvian-Japanese fusion spot doesn't take reservations, but trust me--the wait is absolutely worth it. The chef cooks everything right in front of you, and watching the dishes come to life is part of the magic. Every bite was bursting with bold, fresh flavor--easily some of the best fusion food I've had in a long time. Highly recommend if you're in the mood for something unique, intimate, and incredibly delicious.

Excelente!

Ceviche is off the chain! Tiny resto with about 15 seats max at the bar. Food is made fresh in front of you. You can only order once so choose well! I'd say 1.5-2 dishes per person. My fave was the salmon crudo in a maracuya sauce

Great spot for a not so quick gastronomical meal. It's tiny as many mention so you either get lucky or get ready to wait. The counter sits 12(?). The chef works one group of customers at a time, but honestly watching him work his magic makes the time go by fast. All our dishes were flavorful and beautifully plated. Would recommend in a heartbeat.

With so many Peruvian restaurants to choose from, it can get overwhelming, but Barra Callao makes the decision easy. This tiny, hole-in-the-wall ceviche bar delivers outstanding quality, freshness, presentation, and warm service. If you're a fan of authentic Peruvian flavors, this place is a must-visit. It's a small spot, seating only about 12 people, so plan accordingly. I went on a Saturday night just after 8 PM and got lucky as two people were leaving. Otherwise, there could have been a wait. They take their last orders by 9 PM, so don't push it too late. Now, onto the food--absolutely top-notch. I had the El Chalaco ceviche with an upgrade to halibut, and it was phenomenal. The acidity was just right, the onions were perfectly sliced (not too thick), and the leche de tigre was balanced to perfection. Paired with sweet potatoes and Peruvian corn, this dish was an easy 10/10. The salmon tartare was next-level fresh, drizzled with floral olive oil and seaweed. The sashimi salmon maracuyá was an incredible mix of fatty salmon and passion fruit sauce--sweet, tangy, and delicious. The Causa de Pulpo had tender octopus on a smooth mashed potato cake, bursting with flavor. I can't wait to go back and try more--those oysters looked unreal!

You just need to put yourself in the hands of Chef Martha Palacios. She just dropped a new menu with amazing crispy rice, which to be honest, may be my favorite crispy rice right now. It's sort of shaped like a pizza and it has a good amount of fish and ikura. You know we love Ikura here. It was a table slapper for sure. They also have their own version of hummus which I think (if they tell you to eat more greens this is what they mean, served with crisp flatbread it's like a pillow! Oh and I found out they have a happy hour called 4-5-6-7, everything on this menu is at that range. Oh and they have a josper grill which I had no idea what that was but it looks so cool!. The vibe is fun and vibrant cute inflatable donut decorations and colorful piñatas hanging from the ceiling make it feel lively but still comfortable for dinner. This was my second visit, and consistency is everything for me. The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out hot. They start you off with a sample of their chicken soup, and it's so good that I always order the full bowl. Definitely a must-try. The prices are reasonable with great shareable portions. The drinks were strong and actually tasted good no watered-down cocktails here! Service was excellent. The staff was attentive, checked in on us, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. We ordered the Del Carajo with lambayeque rice and French fries, and everything was cooked perfectly. Why 5 stars? Consistent food quality Strong, good drinks Attentive service Kid-friendly Great value for the price I would absolutely recommend and will definitely be back again!

The seating is tight. While there was a mini coat hanger inbetween tables to place belongings, it made it difficult to maneuver around to get in and out of the seat. Even getting to the table was difficult sharing narrow aisles with servers and wait staff going to and fro the kitchen. The staff were kind and attentive. The food was robust in flavor and well portioned. The different sauces in the table caddy were a nice variety of flavors to pair with the food. I really enjoyed the aioli-like sauce with the beef/pepper sandwich. The bun was lightly toasted but had a nice fluffy chew. The restaurant adjacent (CVI.CHE 105) to this place share the same owner so we were able to order items (ie, cerviches, sushi rolls, etc) from there too. Very Tasty, would definitely recommend if you have a Peruvian craving!
