L'Industrie Pizzeria is a highly celebrated, contemporary slice shop located in the Williamsburg…read moreneighborhood of Brooklyn. Founded in 2017 by Massimo Laveglia, a native of Pistoia in Tuscany, it successfully bridges the gap between classic New York City slice shop culture and traditional Italian artisan craftsmanship. The pizzeria has transitioned from a neighborhood hidden gem into a massive viral sensation, earning the prestigious title of Pizza Today's 2026 Pizzeria of the Year. They open at 12:00, and in anticipation of a long line like we witnessed on our pizza day #1, we showed up at 11:15, and no one was there. (The workers were bustling inside, but no customers lining up yet.) We walked around the neighborhood, which was quiet with gorgeous weather - sunny, 60's, and breezy, - with Spanish banter between neighbors, and a few leaves blowing around. We got back at 11:30 and there were three people in line, then us, and 15 minutes later, it was around the block. The doors open, you order, pay, and wait for your name to be called. Then you go to pizza heaven. This was some of the best pizza we ever had! (It is right up there with Uncle Rico's Pizza in Fort Myers, who always comes in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd at the national competition.) We got four slices - New Yorker - A bold, meaty combination of savory pepperoni and spicy sausage, balanced by the creamy richness of ricotta and the tangy sweetness of the tomato sauce. The crisp, lightly charred crust provides a satisfying crunch beneath the generous, gooey layer of cheese and toppings. L'Industrie - The salty, delicate prosciutto di Parma contrasts beautifully with the cool, buttery creaminess of the burrata, creating a rich yet refined balance of flavors. The thin, crisp crust provides a delicate crunch that offsets the silky cheese and tender, almost melt-in-your-mouth prosciutto. Pork Pepperoni - A classic, deeply savory slice with rich tomato sauce, melted mozzarella, and pepperoni delivering a concentrated pork flavor with a pleasantly salty, spiced finish. The pepperoni adds a slightly crisp, oily bite against the stretchy cheese and thin, crisp-bottomed crust. Spicy Salami - The soppressata brings a robust, peppery heat and a rich, cured-meat savoriness, while the mozzarella softens the spice and the Parmigiano adds a sharp, nutty depth. Fresh basil lends an aromatic lift, contrasting with the crisp crust and the slightly chewy, oily salami. For the pizza geeks - L'Industrie first cold ferments the dough for 72 hours. Instead of using a single commercial flour, they blend seven to eight different flours. This hybrid mix combines premium Italian imported Caputo "00" flour for tenderness and extensibility, mixed with high-protein American bread flour (like King Arthur) and local whole wheat flours for texture, strength, and flavor depth. They use live wild yeast for a complex, slightly nutty flavor profile and visual micro-blistering that you don't get from standard commercial yeast. After a long, cold cure in the refrigerator, the dough is brought to room temperature, and shaped carefully by hand. In pure Italian fashion, the sauce is incredibly simple and completely uncooked before hitting the pie. It is made strictly from Bianco DiNapoli Whole Peeled Tomatoes. These organic California-grown heritage tomatoes are highly prized by top chefs for their natural sweetness and low acidity. There is just a bit of sea salt to brighten the tomato flavor. L'Industrie does not use dried oregano, garlic powder, black pepper, sugar, or heavy spices in their base sauce. They allow the natural, bright sweetness of the crushed tomato to cut through the rich fats of the cheese and toppings. The shop relies on restraint and high-caliber, locally sourced or imported ingredients. They utilize high-quality, low-moisture mozzarella shredded in-house, but they apply it with extreme restraint. This prevents the slice from becoming greasy or weighed down, maintaining a pristine ratio of dough, sauce, and cheese.

L'Industrie is hands down the BEST NY pizza I've ever had! 100/10--an absolute must-visit!…read more We tried the New Yorker, Burrata, and Fig Jam & Bacon, and every slice was phenomenal. The crust, sauce, and quality toppings were on point, but the real game-changer was their house chili oil. Drizzle it over your pizza and prepare to be blown away! We relished every bite and paired our slices with beer. I loved the chili oil so much that I even bought a bottle for $2 to take home! Service is quick, and slices come out fast. The vibe is classic NYC pizza: casual, grab-and-go, with plenty of indoor space and a covered outdoor area to hang out with friends. Do yourself a favor and get the chili oil on your pizza. It's like I was in heaven and was told Ask and you shall receive, we just want you to be happy! By that point, we had already watched other tables receive their food, including people who had arrived well after us. We continued waiting, and after roughly 40 minutes or more, our food still had not arrived. At that point, the dining experience was already ruined and we decided to leave. Ironically, just as we were getting ready to go, the food finally started coming out. I told them we no longer wanted it. The waiter did apologize again and offered us a pizza to take with us, which I assume was complimentary, but by then we were simply ready to leave. Even paying the bill became unnecessarily drawn out. We were charged the full amount for the salad, beer, and wine. I sat with a $50 bill ready to pay, was handed the check, and then ended up standing around for another five minutes waiting for someone to actually take the money. There was no apology from the person handling the payment. I understand that mistakes happen, and I appreciated that our waiter admitted he had forgotten to place the order. But when a restaurant makes that kind of mistake, the recovery matters. After waiting that long, watching later-arriving customers get served, and then having difficulty simply paying and leaving, an apology and a pizza at the very end didn't really fix the experience. Unfortunately, based on this visit, I can't say the service lived up to the restaurant's reputation.

The food is amazing here!!! But im here to make a review for Joe- he's the owners son who is behind the counter working and making the videos that I saw on TikTok which was the reason I went in last month with my husband (cause who doesn't love a good slice)- anyway, it was a crowded Saturday and we ordered our food but there were abs no seats as they were all occupied with people like back in the day- at Brooklyn pizzerias. We didn't mind so we waited and I can see Joe looking over uncomfortable at the situation cause we're standing and our foods getting cold but again- we didn't mind at all! My husband asked what the "pin wheel" was and he explained what was inside. Someone got up so we did get a seat and some time later Joe walked over with a hot pin wheel, apologizing that we had to stand and wait and the Pin wheel was on the house....... Like what?! I honestly don't recall this type of hospitality in a pizzeria in Brooklyn lol (I'm born and raised- IYKYK how hectic it can get in pizzerias etc). I was so touched and admired the level of care this young man has to his family business! I will for sure be back and can't recommend it enough! The sauce is also just the way I like my sauce! Fresh ingredients, happy employees: happy customers! All the luck and success! read more

I don't normally write reviews, but I feel like I need to share my experience at this pizza place. I was really looking forward to trying it, but what happened today was unacceptable. I arrived early, waiting outside for the store to open. As soon as it did, I placed my order and then proceeded to wait. I waited for 20 minutes without any updates, so I politely asked about the status of my order. The staff barely acknowledged me and didn't want to communicate at all. They acted like I was bothering them, even though I was just trying to get a simple update. I kept waiting, but in the meantime, I watched them serve five other orders--none of which were mine. After a long wait, I had to ask for my money back because they still hadn't finished my pizza. The response I got was beyond frustrating: they just threw the money at me without saying a word. To be honest, the pizza wasn't even that good. Given the horrible service and the disrespect I experienced, I won't be coming back. I really can't recommend this place to anyone, especially if you're a minority. It's disappointing, and I honestly expected better. read more

After careful consideration, I felt compelled to provide feedback on my recent experience with the company. As a first-time customer who discovered the business through social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram, I was disappointed with the level of service I received. Upon entering the establishment around 8:45 PM, I observed a lack of diversity among the staff, consisting predominantly of Caucasian males. Despite making eye contact with multiple employees behind the counter, it took approximately two minutes for someone to acknowledge my presence, and the interaction was minimal. The individual merely nodded in my direction before retrieving my order and placing it on the counter without engaging further. This left me feeling uneasy and undervalued as a customer. Upon returning home, I found the pizza to be cold and lacking adequate toppings, while the buffalo wings I ordered were delivered plain instead of as requested. I believe that there is room for improvement in terms of customer service and product quality within the establishment. read more

My go-to is always going to be a super thin crust, small crust, and slightly sweet, but not overpowering sauce -- there can't be too much, but skimping on the "gravy" is equally as bad. Since HS days were filled with Di Fara, I have pretty high expectations for pizzerias (though Di Fara has really fallen low on the list ever since the O.G. Italian owner passed away). Lucia's has been on my list ever since reading one of those famous "Best ______ In NYC" lists, which I'm always skeptical about. It just so happens that Lucia is down the block from my parent's new home, so with that convenience, I've been putting it off until I had an itch for pizza. This weekend was that, so I stopped by on a nondescript Sunday afternoon. A few groups were eating outside, soaking up the sun as it came through the cloudy weather, but few were inside, which meant my pizza came through quick (~3 min, tops). I saw some specials on the blackboard which I'd be down to try next time, but this time, the pepperoni slice and vodka grandma slice caught my eye. Although a bit pricey, I was happy to pay for this top-tier pizza. The crust? Incredibly thin and cracker-like. The pepperoni was perfectly baked and crispy, and the sprinkling of fresh basil and parmesan atop really kicked it up a notch. I didn't even mind when I burnt the root of my mouth inhaling the slice. Although I wish the vodka grandma square had more sauce, I enjoyed it for what it was. All in all, my only regret is not trying this place sooner.

Also some of the crust were to crunchy and should be soft crunch enough to want to bite in and eat all of them . And I left all the crust at this place . I'd come back for the clam and or shrimp on Fri and Sat but not sure their are more to try

Always warmly greeted and tended to. We, hubby and I, recently heard about the stuffed garlic knot (I'm sure we're late to that party. lol). So we opted to have it as our date night dinner. What we didn't consider at the time was that we'd be going to the movies and would have to take it to go. While we waited on our sandwiches to be made, we each had a slice and a drink. We both ordered a chicken parm w/ pepperoni garlic knot sandwich. We literally devoured it! And I wasn't able to get a pic. Would be come again, duh! Actually have gone back twice since this date.

I ordered the double chicken cutlet with vodka sauce, plus extra sauce on the side for dipping. Even though it took me an hour on the subway to get there, every minute and every penny was well spent. The journey was worthwhile. BB

To get a slice, square, and a drink for $8 in today's day and age is rare. And you are not sacrificing quality. Regarding the regular slice, the sauce is fresh and tangy. Cheesier than the round slice and that's what you are looking for. Easy to grab a quick lunch or snack here and you will be happy you did.

I create visuals to all my characters and I always attached pictures some fat dark haired kid running home with undone shoelaces for evening pasta with his bingo armed half stocking grandma calling him from the stoop. "Heeeyyyy Anthooooonyyy". All kidding aside, any neighborhood would be blessed to have such a pizza parlor - that's what we called them. I videoed the experience of walking in and asking questions and I wish I could show it to you all, my beloved readers. It's on my YouTube channel and it's fabulous, it's authentic, it's real. The booming voice from the slight body behind the counter, explaining why Tony's is so special was echoed by the sweetest little lady who had pies stacked over her head, as she navagated her way to the exit from the boxes sides. She and her family have been coming here since way back apparently, another genuinely happy soul she was. Thin crust that is perfectly suited for the fold, ya gotta do the regular slice fold and elbow up lean, but this was after the dry garlic, oregano, red pepper dispensers were thoroughly cleaned by a worker that looked me up and down quizzically yet kindly. Next time I happen to be around during the meal time hours, I'm buying a pie to take home to share Tony's of Brooklyn's special slices and something special from their beautiful menu options of Italian entrees.

I don't think I've ever referred to that as anything outside of "Square" but I digress. Now a few months ago I noticed people all walking around the area eating pizza and checking little lists that they were carrying. This was apparently some kind of "Pizza Wars" competition and I was saddened to be missing out. From the looks of it, the participants were getting the meagerest of bites of pizza from those establishments that were part of the competition. With the FOMO now passed I decided that maybe once a week I would pay a visit to a different local place outside of my usual go to pizzeria. It would not only up the amount of foodie pics on the Instagram but also give me the chance to Yelp and perhaps direct others to what we found. A win win scenario for sure. So my dear friend from the region joined me for a quick pizza lunch and I ordered a slice and a square while my friend only had a single regular slice. Diet Coke and Sprite were the drinks and we sat and chatted to catch up while enjoying this quality offering. Now I can say that there were a ton of different varieties of pizza at Mancini's but I just wanted the regular versions for this visit. The place itself is cozy and the staff very friendly and I will most certainly go back but only after I get some of the other places on my personal list checked off. Mancini's is a high recommendation for those who happen to be nearby or those who can order and have one of the delivery people bring them something. It's important to share this little bit of news as while we ate my friend told me that Mancini's had actually won the Pizza Wars but I wasn't sure which version of their pies won the prize. Apologies for that detail being missing but congratulations to Mancini's on their accomplishment.
