Walked-in for a decent dinner during my visit to Boston. This was a popular local Meditteranean restaurant and it really did not let me down! Its indoor had a similar design as Avec Chicago -- a narrow pathway, on the right were some table and on the left some bar seats with a view of their open kitchen. The light was dim, which created some mysterious feeling for me, making the dining experience more interesting. For food I ordered Kolokithias Anthi and a tiropita as starters. The first one was fried (breaded) squash blossom with some cheese filling and served on yogurt. The platting was amazing, the flavor was even better. It was my first time to have tiropita. Bascially it was a small bread filled with halloumi and something sweet. The shell tasted more like pita than European or American bread. Then I got the Bordeto as my entree. Basically fresh catch served with veggie and pilafi (Greek rice) and topped with tomato broth. The size was a bit small for me, but the taste was heavenly. The juicy fish meat went well with the spiced tomato broth. I also enjoyed the bouncy pilafi very much! Service was really quick and my server was polite and helpful. Beisdes, I was seated near the open kitchen so I was able to have a close look at how those professional stuff prepared the customers' (including mine) food. Overall a pleasant dining experience. Seated next to the window by the lovely hostess. The service was great. The bathroom has one of my favorite handsoaps. The interior is very nice and there's outdoor seating as well. All of the food I had was very good. Most notable? The scallops were some of the best I had. The salad was very refreshing. The mushrooms and orzo were great and had a bit of sweetness to it. The pork souvla was very tender and flavourful. The lamb was fall off the bone and a very heatry dish. Would be even better in the fall/cold weather. The king oysters were so well done that it had the umami of real meat. - Lavraki (5/5): Sea bass thinned so thin that it's translucent on the plate but so so fresh & paired so well with the burst of mustard seeds, fennel and citrus. One of my favorite dishes of the night would most likely order again from now on - Xtapodi (5/5): Never saw octopus cut this way but I much prefer it since you get the soft meaty upper leg while also getting the crunchier more flavorful ends of the tentacle - Giouvetsi (5/5): the lamb just fell right off the bone and was not musty at all. The meat so tender & the orzo was also cooked perfectly. The tomato sauce it's all cooked in is mildly sweet, tasted of fresh garden & a hint of spice. - Souvla (4.5/5): hot from the grill, the pork of the night was perfectly cooked & so so tender. Never had pork cooked this well & it's so simply done with some char marks & squeeze of a lemon. - Portokalopita (5/5): a little bit dense for a phyllo cake but man that orange really shines through with every bite. Ice cream was so so creamy, most likely from the sheep's milk used to make it. Helped to cut the sweetness of the cake so it was a perfect pairing. OVERVIEW: (5/5) - Great ambience, it'll be a tight fit though so not good for big groups - Must say this place did live up to the hype. Hands down one of the best and now one of my favorite restaurants in Boston. Every damn dish was delicious. I've had different variations of these dishes elsewhere, but none came close to the taste and flavor Krasi delivers. Service was amazing. Everyone was so nice and attentive. I asked quite a few questions in terms of seating as I didn't have a reservation and the manager, Chris, was so patient and polite in trying to get us the best seats possible with enough time to enjoy the evening. As we sat outside I couldn't get a good vibe of the inside, but for the moments I was in there it seemed great. Their outdoor patio seating area was more so up my ally anyway. Came here for brunch on a Sunday. Made a reservation about two weeks prior. Started with coffee then got the dips - the feta and taziki one was delicious. Then we got the peinirli and strapatsada. The peinirli was the highlight. The homemade bread is very soft and the leek spinach mix was fresh. The strapatsada is very filling. Lots of mushroom and feta cheese. Last time we ordered a bunch off the menu, but next time definitely going straight to the "Feast of Gods". The Food~ The tiro pita rolls were fresh and warm, the cheesy texture of the halloumi added a bit of depth with the olive punching through perfectly. The xtapodi braised octopus pasta was juicy and soft. The octopus melts and isn't chewy at all. Sofrito felt like the most basic dish here, the meat still fell right off and melted in the mouth, with the potatoes giving some substance and balance to the juices. The kritharoto wild mushroom risotto was the winner for the night. The crispy apple added texture and the truffle butter wasn't overwhelming and just right with the warm savory mushrooms. The logistics~ First time I came here with a group of friends and it was excellent. Came back for a date and the experience was still amazing and personalized. Atmosphere has a high energy but wasn't loud, obnoxious or hectic. The decorations definitely had a Mediterranean touch and I felt like for a tiny bit I wasn't in Boston. Moist inside with a hint of cheese, and the butter was a perfect complement. The grilled calamari was delicious as well -- a little smoky taste on this delicious bed of pilaf with raisins. Showcasing a unique selection and flavors of Greek cuisine, Krasi proved to be a great place for a Sunday night dinner. My partner and I were lucky enough to sit at the bar and receive some excellent wine recommendations from the bartender/host to start off our night. We ordered the following items: Tiropita Rolls: A perfect way to start dinner with soft, warm, fluffy rolls combined with halloumi cheese. This is a must-have and one of the highlights of the meal. Graviera Cheese: A hard, nutty cheese that was fairly mild in flavor. It came with bread, nuts, and cornichons. It was good, but we might try a different cheese next time. Taramosalata Dip: A smooth blend of carp roe, lemon, and black olive oil. The dip was served with onion rings. Overall, the dip was decent, but we were expecting more flavor from the carp roe. Bizelia Salad: A delicious mix of crunchy snap peas and radish paired wonderfully with creamy, slightly spicy yogurt and refreshing mint leaves. Xtapodi (Octopus): Perfectly marinated octopus, resulting in a tender and flavorful dish. The pairing of red onion and pepper gel added wonderful depth. Definitely one of the highlights of the meal. Bourdeto: The catch of the day was tilefish. The fish was cooked well and absorbed the flavors from the broth. However, the broth was not very flavorful and a bit underseasoned. Additionally, the dish was a bit heavy on the vegetables. Portokalopita: Phyllo dough cake with ice cream was absolutely delicious. A perfect way to end the meal and another must-have highlight of the night. Overall, Krasi presented a very nice variety of dishes for a lovely meal. Krasi in Back Bay is one of the top rated restaurants in Boston which has been on my to go list for years and I only made it there very recently! It's also the number one Greek restaurant in Boston on Yelp and ranked very highly on Beli. I got to go last Thursday with a reservation at 9 PM. I was sat right away in a small booth by the window which was a great spot for two since it was isolated and had a nice view outside. To start we got the tzatziki which they make right in front of you and our server whose name I forget was so helpful and gave us some orange wine recommendations. I have a photo of the bottle it was "a-grafo" and was recommended as a light bodied orange wine and it was quite nice. Tzatziki was great although I wish it came with pita and not sourdough. Our server recommended 4-5 dishes for 2 so we got the mushroom risotto, patates, pork souvla, and flank steak in addition to our tzatziki. The mushroom risotto was AMAZING and it was not a traditional risotto but seemed to be made with orzo so it was less heavy than a regular risotto. The little mushrooms were so good as well as the little crunchy chips it came with. The greens were more for decoration but a little bitter. Loved this dish! The next was the pork souvla which was my favorite meat of the two and it comes a la carte with some lemon. I love pork and this was so flavorful. The patates were to die for; a bit heavy because they are breaded and fried and come with a bernaise(?) sauce which was so creamy and went perfectly with the potatoes. The one dish I would skip is the flank steak because it was a little chewy not very tender, and the potatoes and onions it came with in this red sauce were a bit too sweet flavored. But, I love the green sauce it came with it kind of reminded me of chimichurri. To end the night, we got a dessert wine recommendation which was the muscat wine. I did not realize how different Greek dessert wine was from Italian so I expected it to be light and fruity, but it was strong and had a honey/raisiny flavor, an interesting but pleasant surprise. It paired perfectly with the phyllo orange cake with ice cream. Krasi really wowed me and I am so happy I finally got to experience it! I never go to upscale Greek restaurants but Krasi is an excellent choice if you're looking for nice Greek wines and foods. Our server was wonderful and knew every detail about the wines and food. The very best of Greece dining, wine, and tsikoudia in the Back Bay. Do your mouth and mind and heart a favor and make plans to eat and drink at Krasi. To start, Krasi trains their staff - everyone knows the menu and what to recommend based on what you like and they can explain every item on the menu. (Maria is delightful. Tip her well so she can finally travel to Greece.) The menu is very vegetable forward, but also includes cheese so the vegans need to work around but the vegetarians will be happy. There is a nice selection of fish, shrimp and meat specials - the portions are reasonable, not huge, so don't bring your uncle who wants a 20 oz steak or gyro with fries, but do bring your friends or date who want to share delicious small plates and an entree. We enjoyed the cold horta (green beans with a yogurt spread) - crunchy and creamy, slightly saltly sweet and pickley, which was new that night. The shrimp were delicious - perfectly roasted with fava beans - you get two large shrimp (I suppose I would have enjoyed one more, but it was delicious!). We enjoyed 2 specials - the crudo with a saffron almond butter and spicy harissa-like topping and the lamb saddle which was just outstanding. Jeremiah, the wine steward, was a delight. Our favorite greek wine (Assyrtiko) has gone up a lot in price because the 2023 and 2024 yields were historically low plus tariffs. But he happily led us through the wines by the glass and we loved the Fokiano rosé and the Sarris Robola white. The reds (Markou eMeis and Ktima's Biblinos) were also enjoyable. Every island in Greece makes their own distilled liqueur - some are great and some are awful. I was delighted that Krasi has Tsikoudia from Crete - grape stems and skins are distilled for 40 nights and every town in Crete has 2 designated distillers. Please try it - it's smooth but powerful, not as fiery as ouzo. Overall, we enjoyed our evening and would love to come back. Inside is a little loud but outside has nice patio dining. The food and wine is the best of Greece. Do yourself a favor. Go to the beach for the day and have a reservation to eat dinner here. Food: Ordered Lalagites (olive oil pancake) with chocolate syups and this was so good but close to being a heavy dessert. It was very crunchy and soft inside with savory garnishes on top such as oats, and walnuts. I really enjoyed having them with merenda (chocolate syrup). Also had kritharoto and loved this risotto. Great flavor from truffle oil and creamy taste from wild mushrooms with right amount/texture from orzo. Lighting was great and loved the details put into the restaurant like the flowers in the menu and modern paintings of Greek gods/goddesses. Our server was very enthusiastic about serving us a great wine, as we did not know many names of the wines. Asked for our preferred taste in wine which was super helpful. Details put into the food also did not go unnoticed. For two people, we got six plates which was a little too much. I do wish the server warned that it was going to be a lot of food. You can book through OpenTable so it is convenient from a technology standpoint. the high lights, the service was excellent. our server was friendly, helpful, patient and knowledgable. Since we didn't have enough folks to take the feast of the gods we had to order al a carte. We started with the charcuterie with the beef and wild boar. Both were good, not overly salty but not overly powerful or pungent. We also ordered the tarmosalta which was solid, the star were the chips. Omg, the tiropita rolls were the best! I don't like bread and I could had 3 by myself. It was fresh and warm and fun to pull apart. We skipped the greens and went straight to seafood and meats. The bourdetto was easily the best dish we had the entire evening. The brother was delicious, although there were a few bones and scales. The octopus dish was our least favorite. The octopus was overpowered by the tomato sauce and parts of the pasta were undercooked. For the meat dishes, the moussaka was solid, but were outshined by the lamb and quail dishes. The quail was cooked perfectly, something I'd revisit. The lamb was tender and took on the stewed tomato flavor over a bed of orzo. Everyone enjoyed the dessert, the baklava had a nice presentation. We tested our luck and walked into Krasi for lunch without a reservation. It was definitely busy, but lucky for us, there were two seats available at the bar, which we happily took. There are tables outside (service might be limited to certain months) and the interior is beautiful. Lots of gold accents and (at least during lunch), felt open and bright. We ordered a pitcher of the mimosa and a bunch of plates to share. I can't pick a favorite of the dishes because everything we had was excellent. Krasi definitely lives up to the hype and I am looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes off their menu. read more

I'd like to think I was Greek in a past life, and Krasi delivered on my reincarnated dreams. About a month prior, I snagged a 6:30pm reservation for 2 through the Capital One dining reservation system, which was clutch since the regular reservation system on their website didn't show availability until at least 9pm on that Saturday. We were seated at the bar, where we were warmly welcomed by the bartender, who was very attentive and helpful throughout the night. The wines here are not to be missed, and reading through the witty menu is half the fun. I love the more unique offerings, including a few different orange wines by the glass. I opted for the semi-sparkling orange, which tasted funky with some notes of cider/kombucha. We also got to try Retsina for the first time, which is a wine with added pine resin - a very unique flavor. We tried a white Retsina along with a rose, which had notes of cranberry and rosemary (we agreed a bottle of this would be perfect for Thanksgiving). The food menu boasts so many enticing offerings; I wish I had multiple stomachs! We started with a cheese & charcuterie platter, which included loukanico, wild board sausage, and a smoky, hard cheese along with accompaniments of cornichons, capers, mustard, dried cherries, and fig jam. We also got two warm rolls filled with graviera cheese, served with olives and a delish, sweet butter. Despite already being pretty full after this, we had to try more: we ordered the lemony fried potatoes along with the octopus dish, which was an interesting take with kale & black-eyed peas. For dessert, we got the galakoboureko napoleon, which boasts layers of perfectly flaky pastry encasing custard and pistachios. We were dining at the bar for over 2 hours, enjoying our wine and food, and never felt rushed. So good. I literally cannot put into words how good this place is. I hadn't really tried Mediterranean/Greek food prior to this, which is a HUGE mistake on my part because I severely underestimated how good the cuisine is. I got the loukaniko sausage, bread with three disp (tzatziki, taramosalata and htipiti), and the solomo plate to share. All of the dishes were absolutely amazing and blew me out of the water. The loukaniko sausage was so perfect and had such a robust flavor, it was also served in the perfect amount. The lox plate was also so amazing; the richness of the egg and salmon were complimented so well by the picked onions and caper berries. Bread and spreads were also phenomenal. The tzatziki is drinkable. I'm dead serious.. Overall, quick service, attentive, efficient and most importantly AMAZING food. I got a couple items to share with a friend and they were all delicious. I got the spanakopita, the Avga Me Patates, and the last dish was something like an elevated apple pie. the spanakopita was cheesy but not too heavy. The Avga Me Patates was a little heavier, but it was a classic brunch dish. The sweet dish was unlike anything I've had before. I came here with my boyfriend and his mom before we headed over to a Red Sox game and it was truly the perfect spot for a delicious bite and glasses of wine. Our server recommended 2-3 orders per person so we went with a bunch of items (though I think we could have done without one dish). - Tiropita Rolls: This was such a delicious way to start off our meal. The bread was fluffy, cheesy, and warm. - Htipiti Dip: This was probably the only miss from the menu. It was a strange amalgamation of flavors that we didn't love and the texture was a bit too grainy for my liking. - Marouli: This was the top appetizer for me. Such a well-balanced salad. Incredibly flavorful and loaded with cheese, pistachios, and lots of great textures. - Dakos: This was another stellar veggie/fruit-forward dish. Very refreshing. - Makarounes: This pasta literally tastes like french onion soup! I thought it would be more flavorful and it's a bit on the mild end, but a delicious, light pasta. - Giouvetsi: The lamb was soft and fell off the bone. We really liked that it came with orzo, so we were able to mix it up and enjoy it more as a pasta. - Bourdeto: We were so full by the time this fish came out that I could only have one bite, but I really loved the broth and veggies that this came with. Such thoughtful presentation and flavors in their dishes, and service was amazing throughout our meal. It's no wonder why it's so difficult to get a reservation here. I saw so many intriguing items on the menu I wanted to order. The wine list, which is exclusively Greek wines, is an education in itself. Our dishes arrived promptly, were beautifully presented, and were generous and delicious. In addition to all this, service was outstanding. The staff patiently answered our questions, replaced the water when necessary, replaced my wine when a small insect flew in the glass, and were available from the start to finish of the meal. I didn't get everyone's name, but I want to give a particular shout out to Jorge. This was a birthday celebration, but I hope not to wait for another birthday to return. read more

4.5 stars Great food and nice ambiance. Surprisingly great value for the portions especially for the area - cheese board in particular would be nice to share with a larger group of people, as it ends up being quite a lot of cheese for just two people to share. The octopus was interesting in that it was served in more of a soupy/liquidy base instead of just grilled. The surprise highlight of the meal was definitely the tiropita and we would definitely recommend starting your meal with it! Our waiter also gave us great recommendations for wine. We were disappointed to find out that the orange cake had been taken off of the dessert menu, but we did try the phyllo-based dessert that replaced it and it did not disappoint. This is a popular spot that can book out pretty far in advance so would recommend making a reservation - worth a visit! read more

I highly recommend Krasi -- the service was great, the concept was compelling, and the food was well executed! We had the tiropita rolls, eggplant dip, horta (think Greek caprese), kalathaki cheese, and sea bass roasted in grape leaves. All with an excellent, crisp, Greek white wine. We both enjoyed the pairing of the Greek wine and food. And don't worry that the names of the dishes and variety of wine is probably foreign (unless you spend lots of time in Greece) - the wait staff was super knowledgeable about both the food and wine and was prepared to make recommendations. I'd eat here again given the chance and recommend you do too! read more

Krasi is the perfect spot for an intimate date night or a girls night out. The fresh tastes, attentive service, and great vibes will be the reason I go back! Do yourself a favor and get the tzatziki and Xtenia and pair it with some orange wine! read more
