We were originally quoted a 2 hour wait but we were able to sneak in before a reservation if we were able to get in and out within an hour (which due to an event we had to leave for in an hour worked for us). Loved everything about this experience. I'll start with the most important- the food. We went for brunch and started with the dips (added veggies due to gluten allergy). Then had the egg with spinach in the bread boat and egg with prosciutto style meat and potato strings (fancier names in the photos below). We finished everything- so good! We shared a bottle of semi sparkling orange wine which I highly recommend. Prices were reasonable for Boston (approx $18-20 for mains, but there are cheaper options too and $15 for cocktails). Wow wow wow. Krasi is an exceptional Greek restaurant in the Back Bay area of Boston, and it is doing everything right. My partner and I went to Boston on a recent weekend to celebrate his birthday. Wanting to surprise him, I was looking at restaurants that we had not been to, and Krasi had been on one of my lists for a while. Well, let me tell you, it is HARD to get a reservation at Krasi, so I highly suggest going on their waitlist. Closer to the weekend that we were going, a reservation popped up, I was notified, and I quickly snatched it while I could. Knowing what I know now, it was clear that they were taking walk-ins for the bar, and the had availability after 7:30...but since it was in celebration of a birthday, I wanted to lock in the reservation. Krasi is a small establishment, but it has a long expansive bar that overlooks the quaint open-concept kitchen. Along with bar seating, there are intimate tables lined throughout the venue, and in the back, there was a larger elevated table for larger parties. As one would guess, the aesthetics fit the Greek theme with concrete walls, Greek themed decor, modern lighting...it all worked together for the small space, and it did not feel overwhelming. My partner and I got seated by the front window, which was amazing! We were quickly greeted by our server, who was ABSOLUTELY amazing. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and really elevated our dining experience. His knowledge of the extensive wine list was amazing, and he answered questions and provided tasting offerings based on our wants. The wines were amazing, and we are officially fans of orange wine! If you are a wine drinker, I highly suggest tasting through their different wine offerings, as they have wines that wouldn't find anywhere else. As far as the food menu, there are a variety of options ranging from breads, charcuterie, dips, salads, seafood plates and meat plates. We started with the Htipiti which was a spicy feta and red pepper dip served with chicken skins. This was a light and refreshing started off our dinner perfectly. Next we got the Manti, which was a celery root dumpling and the Bay Scallop Crudo, both of which were flavorful and a good portion. Lastly, we ended our dinner with the Giouvetsi, the braised lamb shank which was incredible! We honestly were impressed with all of our dishes. Krasi was quite busy on the July Saturday midday we visited. We'd heard wonderful things about it. The indoor seating was all taken, so we chose sidewalk seating which was quite nice. Setting was great. A bit cramped but ok. Our server, named Brook I believe was very good. Not easy going in and out of the restaurant all morning. The food was no great. I got a savory dish that was phyllo sheets filled with 2 types of cheeses. Halloumi and some parmesan. it looked quite appetizing, but was overly salty. Of course the cheese was salty, but additional salt was obviously added. There were herbs in the cheese, also, that seemed to not match the dish. I managed to eat a bit. My daughter got a dish that was basically tomatoes, cheese, foraged mushrooms and grilled sourdough bread. She was not impressed. Said this is something she could easily make at home. The table next to us got 5 entrees and some were beautiful. The yogurt looked amazing with drizzled honey. 2 entrees were just over $60 including tip. Krasi should be your next brunch stop in Back Bay! I've wanted to try Krasi for a while and I'm glad I snagged a reservation for the bar area. The restaurant is cute and cozy, with some outdoor seating as well. We split the solomo, lalagites, and patates for brunch. Highly recommend getting the patates and lalagites from these options! The lalagites were super light and the perfect amount of sweet. The patates were fried to perfection with a delicious yogurt dip. The solomo plate was good too but the bread with it was a bit dry. I got "krasi" last night, and I am glad I did. As advertised, "krasi" means "wine." Ok, a wine bar. Stop there and you wonder whether this place aspires to be special at all. There must be more than 10 wine bars in the Back Bay alone. After about 5 minutes here, I soon learned that, as with the Greek language, the complexity of this place cannot be so succinctly described. Turns out, even the name suggests more. "Krasi" is derivative of the word for mixture -- the ancient process of mixing wine with water for drinking it. The atmosphere is varied. Gold accents highlight this modern, minimalist interior. Enough to draw your attention but not enough to overwhelm you. We are seated in close quarters with rows of conversing diners. The blend of conversations lends a rich layer -- somehow hitting more like a well-heeled dinner party than an unwelcome cacophony. The menu is intended to be shareable -- yes, more mixing. The dips and breads are the stars tonight. The zucchini, mint and oregano bread was fragrant and fresh. The crispy chicken skins are a delightful salty and textural complement to the whipped red-pepper feta. The dishes arrive in quick succession and you soon find yourself with a myriad of plates on your table. When a giant bowl of tzatziki arrives, we pause briefly thinking we went too far -- that is, until the smack of dill coming off the grilled sourdough hits our collective palette. Some of meats are less successful -- our grilled pork is slightly tough and the marinated octopus falls a bit flat. No matter though -- our entire meal is enhanced by the extensive Greek wine list. Under the helpful guidance of our servers, we find a couple of bottles with the right touch for our particular blend of flavor. Overall an immersive experience that proves a welcome background for a fun evening with close friends. For drinks we got the Neos Frappe (Think boozy coffee without being sweet, very balanced) and the Thessaly Cooler (Refreshing, balanced, sort of like a spritz). Both good options. Very difficult to get a seat, service is not as good as I would expect for the price, and the menu is not at all creative if you're used to Mediterranean. For brunch the menu has a lot of very similar options, including a pita that was not what I was expecting a pita to be... It's tasty, sure, but it needed salt and more cheese. A group of eight of us came for our third annual Feast of the Gods, which we had been looking forward to since our last feast. We made a reservation for 7:30pm on a Monday evening and showed up right on time, only to find the previous party (at the one large table) still in the middle of their meal. The hostess let us know that this party showed up an hour late and that there was nothing they could do. It's unacceptable for a place that opens reservations two months ahead of time to not enforce time restrictions like many other restaurants do. They did offer complimentary rolls while we waited outside, and thankfully it was a nice evening, which makes me wonder what concessions they would have made if it was a rainy day. While she was handling so many people at so many tables, she always had time for us. She was AWESOME! Herrell is the consummate professional too, stopping by several times to see how we were doing. But there is more with him. He wanted to know something about us. Did we like the food? Were we happy with the restaurant? Who were we, really??? Again, I don't know where the owners have found such great people but I would hire any of these people for any job, anywhere, anytime!!! And I know they could do a great job no matter where they worked too! The bread was to die for, the leek pita was outstanding and VERY Greek, the giouvetsi was authentic and the shrimp were the biggest I have ever seen. I went here for a belated birthday dinner with my friend on a Monday night at 8:30pm. I had to make a reservation a couple weeks in advance for this time. The decor inside the restaurant is so elegant, and it was nice sitting at the bar watching the chefs cook in the open kitchen. We got the Xtenia (bay scallop crudo), Tiropita Rolls, Tzatziki, and Souvla. In hindsight, we should have gotten more substantive foods with fewer cards, but the rolls were amazingggg omg best part of the meal baby far. I really liked the play on flavors and the tanginess of the Xtenia, but my friend did not appreciate how small the portion was, which I thought was a fair criticism. I was underwhelmed by the Tzatziki made tableside and the Souvla, which was a bit underseasoned. But the Trigona we had for dessert was so fun! Our server did a great job explaining his favorites on the menu and even offered us birthday shots at the end of our meal. This was one of my first times having Greek food and it didn't disappoint! My friend made a reservation for brunch over 1 month ago for this place. Honestly, I'm glad she did. When I got there, the place was PACKED. No kidding, every single seat in this restaurant was full. People were walking in around 1 pm and I overheard that the wait for a table for 2 was over 2 hours. I was shocked... but after eating here, I kind of understand. We got the Souvla and the Solomo to share. The meat for the Souvla changes daily, but the day we ate there, it was chicken. The Souvla - the chicken was so juicy and tender! It came with lemon slices and a good handful of chicken. It was grilled to perfection. I'm not sure if I would get this again, but it was really tasty! My friend said the lamb Souvla is the best here though. The Solomo - this was my FAVORITE dish. I was actually debating on ordering a second! This dish comes with a crunchy on the outside yet pillow-y soft inside koulouri (which is basically a sesame bread ring, similar to a bagel almost). The smoked salmon was incredibly fresh and not fishy at all. It came with lemon-dill manouri cream cheese, which I'm guessing was made in-house. This cream cheese was delicious and I couldn't get enough of it. I loved the pickled onions as well. There was also a boiled egg and caper berries. Not only was the dish super tasty, but it was incredibly aesthetic. Talking about aesthetics, the restaurant itself is a bit smaller but very cute. The decorations are modern with a nice vibe. I will say their very clean restroom literally feels like a luxury experience. They provide Aesop hand soap AND hand balm. The paper towels there are also so soft. The attention to detail from the food to the bathroom is truly amazing. I would come back again and definitely recommend visiting here! The quality of the food is fresh and very tasty. The prices are a bit high for me to be coming in every weekend, but I would come here on special occasions. It's near Newbury Street so the prices aren't surprising. Our personable waiter, Jorge, was instrumental in the experience from guiding me to a wine based on my (very sweet) taste from there extensive Greek wine list to recommending the best dishes to accommodating special requests to going above and beyond to make things right when my husband didn't love his dish. The space is small; we made a reservation two weeks in advance but could only get bar seating. This turned out to be a great call because we got to watch them cook all of our food! The bar chairs do not have any back support, so they may not be comfortable for all. I have mild back pain and was ok for a couple of hours but a little sore after. We got the bread, pork souvla, red snapper and orange cake. The bread was delicious. The pork souvla was beautifully presented and so crispy and juicy. All of the flavors went very well together. My husband felt that the red snapper was good not great. The fish was cooked well, but the broth didn't have as much flavor as he would like. Jorge was a very good listener and made us feel heard. He brought out the orange cake, which was so light and sweet. The toasted coconut and ice cream really complemented the chilled cake. Having had orange cake before, this was our favorite so far. I tried making a reservation over a month in advance for my birthday and to my surprise they were already booked out on the day! I put myself on a waitlist in the hopes of getting a seat and to my luck I got a notification from OpenTable two days before my birthday that there was an opening at 5pm (instead of 7pm that I originally wanted) so I took it! It was a group of 3 of us and we were seated to the front by the door. It was a nice little booth where we got our privacy. Thankfully we were not bothered by the cold air being by the door nor other customers overcrowding the entrance area. I really liked the ambience of the restaurant. You get to try 4 different Greek wines, that they change each week! Each wine flavor was unique (my first time trying Greek wine), and I liked the gold wine the best! For dinner, we ordered 2 types of cheeses (7 different ones to choose from), the tzatziki sauce with bread, patates (lemon potatoes with herb crust), kolokithias (summer squash blossoms filled with manouri cheese), and skioufikta (Cretan pasta with smoked pork)! Overall: in this age of inflation and rising expenses Krasi stands above them all as staying true to its culinary excellence. There's a reason why you have to snag a reservation 1+ months in advance especially for a prime time dinner slot. Food: we'll start with the must order lamb osso bucco. Two fist sized portions of lamb on the bone over risotto like orzo. The melt in your mouth texture also happens to melt it's juices all over the orzo soaking it up for a mouthwatering saucy bite. It comes in at $28 which considering location prestige and Boston prices sounds consistent with all other restaurants. Only difference is that it's just better. The octopus came in a bit skinnier than preferred but the slight char on the whole leg with the chewy tenderness of a fresh well cooked octopus made up for it. Unlike the style done in spanish restaurants, Krasi uses a tomato almost salsa like sauce to match the refreshing taste of the octopus. The one oddity was the mashed potatoes that come on the side. This comes in at ~$25 ish which is again on par with local offerings. The chickpea salad and burnt beet salad were very different in nature but actually very complimentary. The beet salad was a vinaigrette with the beets being incredibly soft almost fruit like. The presumably butter(?) leaf lettuce was incredibly fresh also probably handpicked. The chickpea salad had a lot of rich flavors going on. Hard to nail it down but the chickpeas were softened and soaked up the flavors for a bomb like mouth experience. Lastly the table side tzatziki helped reset the flavors, freshen up your tastebuds with the tartness from the dill and lemon juice. The quality of the ingredients stands above the rest cause you "could" DIY with ingredients around the corner at TJs but the freshness is not replicable. Ambience/Decor/Service: as good as this place is the location is small adding to its elusiveness but it allows for a much more personal quaint experience. Starting off with question after question to the waiter he happily answered and recommended a bottle of wine that was exquisite albeit pricey. The tableware and uniqueness of the plates don't go unnoticed. The colors and design place you somewhere along the beaches of Greece eating food perhaps from nearby island. Lastly the ambience definitely eschews date-night. This is the place for all things anniversary, dates, girls night out, etc. read more

For brunch, I highly recommend the Tsoureki Toast and Avga me Patates, and you can never go wrong with the Pita of the Day (ours was a fantastic red cabbage & feta combo). For dinner, the Dakos salad is refreshing, and the Xtapodi (octopus), Bourdeto (fish of the day), or the Giouvetsi are standout dishes. Dinner here was a great experience. I ordered the sirloin and it had a beautiful crust on the outside while staying tender in the middle. The truffle fries were a fun addition and added a rich flavor to the plate. The bartender also made me a great old fashioned while I waited for my table. Staff was upbeat and seemed to enjoy working there, which made the atmosphere even better. Lighting was a bit dim but added to the cozy feel. The Aggourosalata was refreshing and light in yogurt flavor. The Souvla was juicy and had a nice grill taste. My favorite was the Giouvetsi. The orzo soaked in all the sauce and the lamb was tender. My friend and I immediately got a table outside for a Wednesday dinner. Overall, great restaurant for food and catching up with friends. read more

I had high expectations going in but each dish I tasted got worse. We started off with Tiropita rolls which were delicious and filled with halloumi cheese. The dip was delicious. We then got the Taramosalata dip. It came with four pieces of bread which isn't enough, and the bread was so crumbly and soft that it wasn't a good vessel to deliver dip to my mouth. The dip itself was ok. I felt like the lobster didn't go with the tarama since the lobster was so dense and the tarama was so light. Finally, we finished with a pork dish that was dry. The ambiance was very nice - the restaurant serves food in bowls that look handmade as each one looks different. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the vibes are very nice. The service was quite slow as we had to wave down our waiter many times. read more
