    Duck Magret a l'Orange
    Han N.

Ma Maison is my fiancé and I's favorite French restaurant! It's always at the top of our list when deciding a restaurant for special occasions. I've also never had anyone tell us they do not like the restaurant once they try our recommendation. It's a small, cozy, dimly lit restaurant located at a corner near MGH. Street parking may be tough but there are garages around. The hospital garage may be a bit pricey; I believe the restaurant can validate for another garage nearby. Our must order items from the menu include seared foie gras (5/5), duck magret a l'Orange (5/5), escargot (5/5), french onion soup (5/5, and steak tartare (4/5). I love using their bread to dip with the escargot and eat with the foie gras as they do not come with carbs. During my last visit, I tried the boneless short ribs Bourguignon, I felt like it was a bit dry. I loved the potato croquette that came with the dish though, creamy on the inside with a crispy exterior. The meat did not fall off and melt, maybe it was just that one day. I will stick to ordering duck as my entree as it has never failed us and the cook and flavors are also supreme. Creme brulee is always great to end the meal! Service is alway is great, every server we've had were always attentive. We were given free champagne one year when we told them it was our anniversary too! Definitely a restaurant I will always recommend and visit every now and then.

Some of the best food I've had in Boston, possibly the best French food in Boston. Came here on a whim and was so happy to get a reservation, it's a very intimate space but we felt comfortable at our table. Food was superb from top to bottom and was also mostly gluten free which was a nice surprise for the gluten free member of our party. Very meat forward menu but extremely reasonable price for the quality and service. I was pleasantly surprised. Highly highly recommend for a nice dinner in basically the center of town within walking distance of the common

That Tuesday soufflé... darn is that GOOD! This place is 5/5 again. The one note is that my mom's pasta that came with her meal did stick together as if it hadn't been tousled when being cooked. After she had everything else, even my difficult to impress mom LOVED this place. Generous portions, brilliant flavor, excellent service and a wonderful selection all contribute to this being one of Boston's absolute gems. Will be back.

Hubby and I love you she had previously cheese soufflé and steak, which is the special on Tuesday night. She highly recommended it. She was right. She and I tried both. And it really was excellent. When eating steak you must dip it into the gravy at the very bottom of the container. Makes a big difference. We started with the lobster bisque which was split. It was nice and two bites of lobster in the soup, though not my favorite lobster fish, which is up to seafood in Salem. It was very nice and very good flavor. I ordered the chicken thigh with noodles and it was good. But not great and I wouldn't order it again. It is a very large portion and I was able to get two more meals from it. It was good, but not great. Hubby order the scallops, which were excellent and I would recommend them. That will be my order next visit. The dessert was spectacular. Hubby got the three scoops of sorbet and I had a giant profiterole which was quite large and really excellent. The only criticism I could have is that rather than a chocolate I'd rather be a thicker fudge type of topping. Our waiter was very good and very helpful, and able to remove all the dishes in one trip which was amazing also amazing was the warm bread to start out a nice Italian bread it was a big hit. This is a very small romantic place, and our table was quite small. We sat right next to the door. It was lovely. And definitely a special place. I would definitely return even though they didn't get the full 5 stars from me.

Ma Maison is a small cosy French restaurant on Cambridge Street. We liked the decor. I ordered the lamb with mashed potatoes & gravy and my friend ordered the Chicken Coq Au Vin with buttered noodles. We shared Crepes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream with an overly sweet syrup. I would skip that and order a different dessert next time. The tables are very close together and the restroom is tiny and the door is heavy. I had an Aperol spritz and my friend had white wine. The wait staff was fine. We didn't feel rushed at all. We enjoyed our visit there. It was different than the restaurants we usually go to.

One of Boston's hidden gems located in the Beacons Hill neighborhood. , Ma Maison offers an authentic French dining experience in an intimate and charming setting. The menu is small and thoughtfully curated, with each dish expertly prepared and full of flavor. The wine list is well selected, offering excellent value and pairings for the cuisine. What truly sets this restaurant apart is the warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly service.

    Corn taste amazing

When I tell you the food is good trust me. My waiter name was SUNSHINE she was so helpful professional and polite. So if you love lobster this place is the best!!!! O yeah tell them Sandy sent you from Miami. The environment was beautiful. I love it will definitely come back!

Cozy French restaurant. We were in the mood for French onion soup. The soup has a very light broth. Full of onions, cheese and bread. Very good! Salad had a delicious dressing. We will be back.

Managed to get same day reservations and this place did not disappoint. We were very happy with the food and the prices were very reasonable. The drinks were strong but worth the price so I would recommend the place. The server was attentive and the decor had a French feel.

If you're looking for a place that does classic French cuisine with care and consistency, this is it. They know how to cook a steak perfectly--flavorful, tender, and exactly how you order it. The menu is thoughtfully curated, with just enough variety to keep things interesting without overwhelming you. One highlight that really stands out is the flavored champagne. It's a fun, unexpected touch that elevates the whole experience--refreshing and just the right balance of sweetness. And whatever you do, don't skip dessert. The Grand Marnier soufflé is a showstopper: light, fluffy, with that warm, boozy orange flavor that hits all the right notes. It's the perfect way to end the evening. The space itself is on the smaller side, so it feels more intimate than your typical restaurant--almost like dining in someone's upscale home. It can get a little tight, especially during peak hours, but that's part of the charm. Parking can be a bit of a hassle if you're not familiar with the area. Street parking is limited, so I'd suggest heading straight for the paid lot a few blocks away--it's worth it for a smoother experience. Whether you're out for a romantic date night, celebrating something special, or just want a great meal in a cozy setting, Ma Maison delivers. It's one of those places you'll find yourself recommending again and again.

The service is excellent, and each course of our meal was delicious. Right when we walked in, we felt like we were back in Paris.

The restaurant is a lovely little ode to downtown Boston with its charming little dining room, prep area in the back, and little bathroom with a super heavy door. The lunch service was very attentive. I got the salad with panko fried goat cheese and the lobster bisque. The salad, dressing, and fried cheese were vibrant and refreshing. The lobster bisque was decent but needed to be hotter and lacked a bit of flavor. Overall it was a great experience and I definitely recommend stopping in for lunch.

Phone didn't eat first clearly (oops!). We all started with a capuchino and it was SO delicious and rich. Loved the presentation of the coffee. All of the waiters and waitresses were very professional and friendly and call everyone Monsieur or Madame which was a great detail for a french restaurant. What we ordered: Everything was 5/5 Organic Cheeseburger: this was a THICK burger but the quality was astounding and it wasn't heavy and didn't make me bloated after eating the entire thing in 5 mins (oops) Spanish Chorizo Omelette: Salty, slightly spicy, rich omelette Smoked Salmon Crossaint: Super yummy and light

Saltie Girl was easily one of our favorite meals in Boston…read more We had heard so much about Saltie Girl and knew how popular it was, so we made sure to get a reservation. Even going in the middle of the week, almost every normal lunch time slot was already booked. We managed to snag a 2:45 PM reservation, and when we arrived, it was VERY clear why reservations are a good idea. The place was still packed! The outdoor patio was completely full, but luckily we had booked indoor seating. Honestly, it worked out perfectly. We got to enjoy the beautiful interior and restaurant atmosphere while escaping the Boston humidity. We were warmly greeted and seated right away. Service throughout our meal was friendly, quick, and attentive, especially considering how busy they were. The menu is fairly small, but there was still so much we wanted to try. We started with the Hamachi Tartare, made with yuzu leche de tigre, serrano, Sweety Drop peppers, and macadamia nuts. This was such a refreshing start. Bright, citrusy, slightly spicy, and full of different textures without overpowering the hamachi. Of course, we HAD to order the famous New England Lobster Roll. We opted for the cold version, and it absolutely lived up to our expectations. There was plenty of lobster, and the flavor was fresh and clean without being overly dressed. Definitely one of my favorite lobster rolls from our Boston trip. The Jonah Crab Carbonara was another standout. Spaghetti with crab, corn, chanterelles, pecorino, and preserved lemon made for such an interesting combination. It was rich and comforting, but the preserved lemon helped brighten everything up so it didn't feel too heavy. My partner ordered the Saltie Girl Clam Chowder, made with potatoes, celery, bacon, and fried clams. He could NOT stop talking about it afterward. Out of all the chowders he tried during our trip, this was his favorite. It clearly left an impression because he was still bringing it up later in the trip! Even the warm house-made artisanal bread with sea salt butter deserves a mention. Sometimes bread and butter is just bread and butter...but this was absolutely worth ordering. And because we were in Boston, there was no way we were skipping the freshly shucked oysters. We tried the Unicorn Pink from Damariscotta, Maine, which was medium-large, deep and meaty with a mineral finish. The Rocky Nook from Kingston, Massachusetts was much larger, with a medium brine, silky texture, and buttery-sweet finish. Lastly, the Paine's Creek from Brewster, Massachusetts was smaller with a clean brine and a really nice sweet citrus finish. Trying all three side by side was such a fun way to taste how different each oyster could be. For drinks, we kept things simple with a pint of beer and their Frosé Spritz, which was especially refreshing on a warm and humid afternoon. From start to finish, everything we ordered was delicious. There really wasn't a dish we regretted ordering. If I had to pick the most memorable items, it would be the cold lobster roll for me and the clam chowder for my partner. Those were the dishes we were still talking about afterward. The only downside is that Saltie Girl is clearly very popular, so getting a prime reservation can be difficult. The menu is also on the smaller side, so if you're looking for a massive seafood menu with endless choices, this isn't really that kind of restaurant. But what they do offer feels intentional and very well executed.

The food quality was poor (scones were clearly reheated and stuck to the cloth napkin they were wrapped in), and there were notable service lapses, including being served water in a visibly shattered glass. Additionally, when hot water was added to refresh the tea, my stepdaughter's pot curdled and had to be replaced. It was especially disappointing, as I mentioned that I had stopped in and spoken with the concierge, and was assured, as they had called the kitchen while I stood there that they readily accommodated gluten-free. There are numerous places in the city that could have done this, and if you had just told me that you could not do so, I would have booked us elsewhere. I chose not to raise the multiple issues in the moment so as not to disrupt what was meant to be a special day for the girls and me. However, the total cost exceeded $500, and the experience did not come close to justifying that price point! Do not recommend.

You have to enter the building with a small fox picture, go down a set of stairs and check in at the counter of said restaurant before they lead you into the back where the speakeasy is. The menu is "set" in that they have a particular cuisine focus for the night and the four food dishes are predetermined as well as the first drink. That being said, you get to order three more drinks from their cocktail menu that range from lighter to more spirit forward, ending with more dessert type cocktails. All the drink flavors were so unique and a fun twist. The food was actually very substantial. Good flavors as well. Our favorite dishes were the lamb cigars (large egg roll shape with eggplant and spices) and the whole branzino. Everything was good though. Service was a very friendly and they were open about the fact that if you didn't like a drink they'd make you another one.

She was great! Really enjoyed talking with her and she had great drinks recommendations. The food was delicious and very unique which was refreshing. Its a 2 hour experience with 4 drinks, 3 food courses and a dessert. You definitely wont be hungry after. Highly recommend for a date night.
