A Disappointing End to What Should Have Been a Lovely Evening…read more Three of us visited Haley Henry Wine Bar in Boston this evening, looking forward to a relaxing night of wonderful wine, delicious small plates, and good company. We arrived promptly at 7:00 PM for our reservation and thoroughly enjoyed ordering several expensive bottles of wine and a generous selection of appetizers. We certainly weren't holding back on our spending and were happy to indulge in what we expected to be a memorable evening. Unfortunately, the evening ended on a very disappointing note. At 9:00 PM, while we were still enjoying our wine, we were informed that we needed to leave because another reservation was scheduled for our seats. I completely understand that restaurants need to manage reservations and accommodate other guests. However, when three patrons are spending hundreds of dollars on wine and food, being asked to leave before they've even finished their drinks feels incredibly unwelcoming. If there was a strict two-hour seating limit, that expectation should have been clearly communicated when we made our reservation or when we arrived. What started as a lovely evening ended with us feeling rushed, unappreciated, and frankly, disappointed. Fine wine deserves to be savored, not hurried. Unfortunately, the hospitality did not live up to the experience or the price tag.

This restaurant has quickly become one of the best Mediterranean spots we've had the pleasure of visiting. Despite its small size, the atmosphere is lively and fun--even when you're seated at the counter, you feel right in the heart of the action. We started with the tiropita rolls, which were nothing short of excellent. Crispy, savory, and perfectly seasoned, they're definitely something we'd order again. The taramosalata was a pleasant surprise--so fresh and bursting with umami that it's definitely worth trying if you haven't yet. The patates were another highlight, perfectly crispy and paired with a tasty sauce that added just the right kick. The lavraki seabass tartare was incredibly fresh, and the Greek yogurt added a delightful texture and tanginess that elevated the dish. Then came the lamb osso bucco, which was cooked to perfection--tender and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The service was top-notch. Our server was not only attentive and helpful but also clearly knowledgeable about the menu, guiding us through our choices with ease. We left fully satisfied and excited to return. During my first visit to Krasi, I was delighted by the overall experience. The restaurant's interior exuded an inviting and serene ambiance, setting the perfect tone for the evening. Accompanied by my partner, we embarked on a tasty journey, indulging in an array of flavorful dishes: the Tiropita Rolls, Dakos, Marouli, xtapodi, and the giouvesti. Our taste buds were certainly pleased, as each dish boasted its own unique blend of flavors and textures. The Kopanisti dip, though not disagreeable, failed to leave a lasting impression. Additionally, the pairing of the fried okra didn't quite align with my personal preferences. However, this did little to overshadow the overall positive experience. As the evening drew to a close, I opted for a warm cup of tea, serving as the perfect finale to our meal. All in all, the dinner at Krasi proved to be a delightful culinary affair. The charming atmosphere, the pleasant customer service, coupled with an array of satisfying dishes, ensured a memorable evening that will certainly beckon us back for more. read more

I had a terrible experience at Krasi in Boston. My partner and I brought our service animal with us to the restaurant and were treated very poorly by the manager, Amber. Despite showing all of our documentation and explaining that our dog is a trained service animal, Amber was extremely rude to us. At first, she simply refused to seat us in the dining area with our dog, even though we explained that it is illegal to deny service to someone with a service animal. When we insisted that we be seated, she reluctantly agreed but continued to make snide remarks about our dog throughout our meal. To make matters worse, the food was not good. We ordered a few different dishes and they were all mediocre at best. The prices were high for the quality of food and service we received. Overall, I would not recommend Krasi to anyone, especially not to anyone with a service animal. The manager's behavior was completely unacceptable and ruined what should have been a pleasant dining experience. read more

Our visit to this Mediterranean spot was truly one of the best dining experiences we've had. Though the restaurant may be small, the atmosphere was lively, even from our seats at the counter. We indulged in the tiropita rolls, which were outstanding and undoubtedly a repeat order in the future. The taramosalata pleasantly surprised us with its fresh and savory flavors, truly worth trying. The patates were a crispy delight, perfectly complemented by a flavorful sauce. The lavraki seabass tartare was a highlight, boasting freshness, while the Greek yogurt added a delightful texture and acidity. As for the lamb osso bucco, it was cooked to perfection, effortlessly melting in our mouths. Our server was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, enhancing our dining experience. I recently visited this place and overall, it was a pretty good experience! The halloumi bread was definitely the star of the meal. It was crispy, cheesy, and absolutely delicious - I could have eaten that all night! The risotto truffle pasta, on the other hand, was a bit of a letdown. It wasn't bad, but it didn't have the wow factor I was expecting, especially with truffle being such a strong flavor. The whipped feta with red pepper and sourdough was also just okay--nothing special, though it wasn't unpleasant. One of the surprises of the evening was the green onion fritters. They were really tasty--crispy on the outside and flavorful on the inside. The overall vibe of the restaurant was great though--super relaxed and welcoming. While not everything on the menu was a hit for me, I'd still recommend checking it out. The halloumi bread alone is worth the visit! read more

This place is spunky, cool, and delicious!! The menu is very unique with all types of flavors from meats, veggies and seafood. It's a great take on traditional Greek flavors with modern flavors. My wife and I enjoyed sitting at the high top bar, as we were able to enjoy a beautiful bottle of local Greek wine while taking in the fun ambience. We enjoyed the table side tzatziki (which was made at our table to our liking with extra garlic ). We also enjoyed the cheesy flavors from the homemade tiropita rolls!! For dinner we had the Bourdeto, a tasty blend of seafood, spice and tomatoes and the Souvla which is their daily rotisserie (we tried the pork) it was crispy, full of flavors and spice - and is going to be the reason why we keep coming back for more!! We visited on a Tuesday night, and while the music wasn't a problem for me, it may be something to keep in mind if you prefer a quieter dining experience. Because we had a preset menu, I didn't get to try the whole roasted branzino I had originally planned to order. However, the lamb meatballs were outstanding, and the pan-seared chicken was absolutely delicious. The other entrées, including the short rib and vegetarian option, also looked excellent. Even the dessert exceeded my expectations, the chocolate mousse-style cake was rich, smooth, and delicious. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at Trade. The food was impressive, the atmosphere was fun and stylish, and I would definitely return, especially to try the branzino next time.

The space is absolutely stunning: high ceilings, dim lights, lots of natural colors and greenery. We got seated right away in this really cute table in the middle of the big dining room. Service was exceptional! I feel like our waiters went above and beyond to make the experience very special for us. They also really helped us with recommendations on how much to order for our table and what the best dishes to get were. For drinks we got a few bottles of white wine and I opted to get a lemonade which had cucumber and mint. It was so delicious and refreshing! We ended up getting an assortment of apps as well as mains for each person. I tried: - Dips and pita: assortment of 3 dips: spicy feta, tzaitziki, and fava dip. All were amazing but somehow the fava dip felt particularly good compared to others that I have had before. The pita came out warm and had a very nice flavor, like they toasted it lightly with a bit of olive oil. Super good to share! - Lamb meatballs: amazing! One of my favorite apps. The meatballs were tender without being crumbly, the lamb was flavorful without being gamey, and the tomato sauce added a perfect acidic/ sweet balance to the spices of the lamb. The touch of labneh on top also added a really delicate creamy balance. - Baked feta: literally amazing! The feta they use there is some of the best quality, creamiest feta I've had at a Greek restaurant. It was also not too salty. This came baked in a delicate layer of perfectly crispy phyllo, topped with a light drizzle of honey, roasted grapes, and olives. If I had known in advance how good this was, I may have actually asked for it as dessert. A table-wide favorite! - Caramelized carrots: another very solid dish. Perfectly caramelized carrots over a bed of dill yogurt. Really simple but good! - Eggplant salata: I'd probably skip this one next time. I was expecting a warm baked eggplant but this was cold and a bit difficult to eat since it came with the skin of the eggplant that was tough. The flavors were a bit flat but the presentation was definitely nice. - Whole branzino: usually comes with head and tail but we asked if we could have it deboned since we would be sharing between two. The two perfectly cooked fillets had a nice crispy skin and tender meat. The green herb dressing was perfectly tangy and complemented the mild white fish flavor very nicely, - Village salad: another hit for me! I'm usually not too impressed by "Greek" salads at places, however, they used such high quality product here, that it was impossible not to enjoy this. The feta was creamy and perfect, the peppers/tomatoes/cucumbers were so fresh, the olives and onions were not overpowering at all. It also came with a touch of capers which I have not seen before but really enjoyed. The olive oil they used felt 1A grade. Pretty filling and would recommend sharing. - Lamb chops: I stole a few bites from my husband's lamb chops which were perfectly cooked, tender, and had a generous amount of fat. The seasoning was amazing also though a bit salty for my taste. Not gamey at all! - Baklava: we thought this would be a traditional baklava but it was more like a reimagined baklava with some yogurt, pistachios, cranberry sauce, halva. While it has great textures, and nice healthy flavors, I think we were hoping for something a bit more traditional. Very big though so probably ideal if you have a larger group. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal here! The ambiance was super cute and the food was good. This is a perfect place to have a big celebratory meal since the dishes are so shareable and the set up is sufficiently smart casual- formal without being over the top or stuffy. Would come back if I found myself in Boston! Definitely check them out if you have a chance. PS: forgot to photograph a few dishes but sharing what I have!

The dips and bread so good and the watermelon salad divine. Our server was so nice and perfect and the manager was friendly and accommodating. We were seated promptly and the vibes were really great since it was commencement weekend in Boston with several large parties celebrating the occasion. The passion martini was a great way to start the early evening dinner, followed by a dozen of their freshly-shucked oysters. We ordered a few other items: - Crispy Eggplant: definitely the highlight of the meal for us; the tempura-style fried eggplant slices with the creamy, tangy yogurt laced with something sweet (honey?), and then topped with cheese - Fattoush Salad: nice and bright, nothing too spectacular about this, but definitely a nice hit of freshness there - Beef Shish Kebab: the meat was well seasoned, although I would say the portion seemed small for the price. - Manakish: flavorful and hot, and was a great way to soak up any of the remaining sauce and dressing from the other dishes Overall, would definitely come back for the oysters and the eggplant as a light meal with drinks before a larger meal someplace else later in the evening.
