    Jam Biscuit
    Monte L.

Small neighborhood cafe with various assortment of baked goods from savory to sweet. The sitting was plenty and I saw some people studying while enjoying their goodies. The lighting is soft and the cafe had a welcoming atmosphere. I haven't been to a German specific cafe previously, so it was an interesting place to try. The service was very prompt and straight forward. I got jam/butter biscuit and cappuccino with 4 shots of coffee. Both were delicious.

Stopped in while my car was getting an oil change across the street. Enjoyed a bacon, egg & cheese biscuit sandwich. I got a side of jam to go with any leftover biscuit. All was good! The standout of Kaffeeklatsch would be its customer service. Very helpful, thorough and I appreciate the care they take in distinguishing that I may want my coffee in a to go cup, along with the biscotti in a bag, but enjoy the sandwich on the premises. They take great care to make sure the customer gets what they want. There was ample seating to sit, enjoy and relax on a Friday morning.

Really great experience here this morning, service is friendly and helpful. Got the vegetarian breakfast sammie (egg, cheese, tomato slice on a scone/biscuit), soft heart pretzel, bienenstich (almond pastry), drip coffee and americano. The pretzel was hands down the best carb we had here, soft, just the right amount of salt, chewy, not too dense. The bienestich wasn't too sweet, almonds candied, filling light- yummy. The breakfast sammie was crispy on the outside, soft and warm, little bland, would have been super yummy with a side of jam!

Really cute little spot that my friend and I came to get breakfast in. It was busy the full hour we were there, but never too busy to get a table and the line moves fast. I got the bacon and egg biscuit- really good! The biscuits are great, flaky and fresh. I also got a latte and that was good. We got an assortment of baked goods to try and these were fine but not amazing. Out of all the baked goods, the pain au chocolate was definitely the best, such great layers and amazing flavor! I would definitely try some other items, they had lots of great looking stuff.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!! I have a German mom and grandparents and the bakery items this place has are just dripping with nostalgia for me. Everything here is so meticulously made with love and thoughtfulness. Photo with just a few of the offerings, do NOT MISS the plum cake (Blechkuchen) OMG. The coffee (locally roasted True North) is fabulous as well. What a morning, you guys, what a morning.

First thing to mention, kudos for their longevity. They are coming up on their first decade next summer. The cafe decor also held up pretty well, including the large glass fixture from the ceiling. Seattle Sunshine Coffee also outlived Ventoux that I had mentioned in my prior post. The barista and I compared my 2016 stamp card to the current design, just had a few slight different nuances. This indie cafe had folks onsite, but not packed. There was still room available whether seated along the sidewalk, main seating area, or the upstairs mezzanine. Some convos to be had, but most of the cafe clientele were on their laptops or reading. Pastry case was well stocked with the wholesale variety from Macrina, plus the usual bevs and cafe fare. I enjoyed my near two hour onsite visit. The only thing I wished is that I had brought a hoodie. The AC was jacked up. and of course, I had savored an iced mocha. Hopefully my next cafe detour won't take nine years though between visits.

It's located in the same spot after many decades in Seattle's Wedgwood neighborhood. Since there's several cafes along this stretch of 35th NE, as point of reference, it's two doors south of Wedgwood Broiler. It shares a huge parking lot and adjacent to a Metro bus route. It had a nice autumn hue from the overhead lighting and interior decor. The local art for sale adorning the walls was a nice added touch. Upbeat, welcoming staff. It was full right at noon and brisk walk-in takeout traffic. Nice overhead music to chill, dine, and/or do laptop stuff. They offer the usual bev menu, as well as, breakfast & lunch items, soups, salads, modest pastry case (from Alki Bakery), merch, and coffee roasts from Zoka. The 16oz mocha was well crafted temp wise & good balance of espresso, steamed milk, and chocolate. I also opted for the roast beef panini without the horseradish. Generously filled with roast beef, havarti, mayo, and red onion on savory focaccia. It was provided with au jus and I selected potato salad versus chips. The au jus was not salty, so after dipping, I also sipped the hot broth. Very flavorful and filling. The other panini half I'll have to take home. Thanks to fellow Yelp Elite All Star, Will L for a compelling post. This was a pleasant detour for lunch.

I absolutely love their specialty drinks like honey cardamom, and a shakerato. The vibe and atmosphere is wonderful. It's usually social and low-key but never too loud. They have excellent food, matcha with option to remove sugar (not all coffee shops have this!). Generally, I feel like their staff is really great! Love the location minus the issues with parking being tricky for a quick stop, sometimes need to pay. I keep coming back here! With gas prices over six dollars and budgets getting tighter for so many the one thing that hinders me is their prices. Their baseline drinks are an average of $5.75 + tip. Quiche slice is $8 two hard boiled eggs near $4. Typical typically if I'm gonna spend almost $10 I'd rather buy a fancy drink like a bubble tea or go out for an appetizer and food. When you own your own espresso machine and Matcha at home it's hard to justify getting such expensive drinks unless there is that "I can't make this at home" appeal - housemade syrups, Boba, etc I do love that urban coffee lounge has pour over options which can be time-consuming and cold brew, which is delicious and also more time-consuming. I appreciate their presence in the neighborhood. Having lived in Seattle for so long with so much access to incredible coffee I appreciate urban coffee lounges level of expertise with coffee. It is more rare on the east side. (Zoka is great of course!) And I will keep coming back, but sparingly due to prices. (Am I the only one who feels this way? Let me know!) Thanks for being here, urban coffee lounge!

When we arrived, we weren't greeted, but we could see the staff chatting behind the bar. Once seated, though, we found a really pretty personalized three-course menu plus charcuterie waiting for us. We had really great service once inside the private room, and the food was absolutely delicious! The charcuterie had a great assortment of cheeses, meats, pickles, and other accompaniments. I had the carrots with whipped feta for my starter, and it was perfect. For the main course, the steaks came out, which was my only real disappointment of the night. Every other steak plate had these large, beautiful pieces, while I was left with all of the steak ends and tinier bits. It was a bit of a bummer, especially since all of my coworkers had plenty to take home. Dessert (chocolate gateau) was just okay. I wish the cake had been a bit richer, but I know that's hard to do when it's dairy-free. Overall, a good experience, but I would suggest the kitchen be more mindful of portion variation across the same dish. It can leave a yummy steak having a poor taste in a guest's mouth!
