This is by far my favorite restaurant in the area. When we moved to the area 2 and a half years ago we came here 2-3 times a week. Best Tex-mex food in town! Everything on the menu is amazing. No exaggeration. From the fajitas to every combo plate. Local hole in the wall combos with awesome decorates Mexican spot for the ambiance! Date night or bringing a group of 10 friends. Why this isn't the 5 star review, is for the service here. The bus crew is on point. And that's about it. Servers and hostess used to be equally as awesome as the food, since they have expanded, it's not the same and by same I mean, wrong food orders, wrong drink orders, and the real one tbat gets me, 3 waiters/waitress's walk passed our table before we have to ask to get drinks. If you haven't seen your server, you can 100% look to the host stand and see them talking or on their phones. Look around and can see multiple tables looking for their server as well. I love the food here. Great service. Fell short Came for cinco de Mayo drinks and food and was disappointed that freaking cool and the gang was on repeat. Why? Also attention to detail I guess gets thrown out the window during busy times. Margarita machine was down but we saw another table getting served a frozen margarita. How's that possible? Found this gem this morning and went to check it out this evening for dinner. Food was excellent and they have a LOT of good looking options to choose from, great variety of drinks, creative decor and good service UNTIL the end....Someone other than our waiter ( I'm assuming a waitress) came and got our ticket ( I paid cash). When I finally got my check back It was not my full change. It was only 1.86 but I didn't ask her to take any and it definitely wasn't the % I am suppose to leave. I just find it very unprofessional and the more I think about it....shady! And yes I did tip our original waiter. So pay attention to the change you get back folks. read more

I am very disappointed. I order from the restaurant regularly. This is the second time I have ordered the stuffed jalapeño and not received the item I paid for. There is no stuffed jalapeño. It is just mush with no jumbo shrimp. This is so frustrating because I gave the restaurant another chance with this item. I ordered quesadillas from here almost every other week. Today it was ice cold. I like some of the food, but it's not worth the gamble. Try Uncle Julio's, Gringo's, or Pappasitos instead. read more

Tucked back in a non-descript shopping center in the 'burbs, Julio's Mexican Grill is a gem. We ordered dinner for take out. The service was fast, and the food was fresh and hot. We ordered the enchiladas verdes (one chicken and one carnitas) and a supreme burrito with ranchero chicken. The carnitas enchiladas were so flavorful. I recommend carnitas over chicken for the enchiladas. The burrito was delicious. The sauce it was smothered in is very tasty. As a bonus, all orders can with chips and salsa too! I was surprised by this place. We are trying to find a favorite Mexican restaurant close to where we live. This place was good! Music was a bit too loud but upbeat and staff was friendly. Food came out quickly and everything was good. The place is clean and they do as good as they can with what they have. It's definitely no frills here! Seats are worn and tables need leveling. I like that you smell the food and not cleaner. There is nothing worse than going to an establishment where you are overcome by cleaning products. I appreciate a clean place. I do not appreciate being hit in the nose with bleach or anything else. I've noticed Mexican restaurants tend to do this unfortunately. The chips and salsa were good. Red salsa is served warm and its a little spicy. Hits you in the back of the throat after you swallow :). The rice is a strange yellow color but had very good flavor. Puffy tacos were seasoned well but the ground beef a bit too salty. It balanced with the fresh lettuce, tomato, and avocado. Cochinita pibil was good to my hubby. I thought it had a bit too much cinnamon. But it was good. We will be back. This has been the best local Mexican we have found near our home. read more

The hostess was SO rude. I said there were 3 of us and after that the 3 of us were talking. She was just staring at us. When we said 3, she said we were too busy talking for her to understand us. As she gathered the menus, she rolled her eyes and we all saw it. Just very unpleasant. This was at lunch on 11/13. She was young with died pink hair. If she is the first person you encounter, she is not going to gain you customers. The waiter could not have been nicer. He was excellent and the food was good. This is our regular Friday night spot! We had another spot we would regular on the weekends and we decided to try Julio's when they first opened a couple years back, and we've been loyal customers ever since. The first thing I ate here was the Beef Fajitas...they are amazing! The quality is on par with something much higher end, like Papasito's, but the flavors are out of this world. I remember being in awe at how amazing the beef fajitas tasted! There's no much on the menu that I haven't tried and I've never been disappointed. My current favorite meal item is the Birria Beef Tacos. Unfortunately, they are only served Friday nights after 8pm and all day Saturday and Sunday. We happened on to the Birria Beef Tacos by accident, I was set to order the Enchilada Combo and the wife was going to order a Fried Avocado when the waiter asked if we wanted to try their new weekend special, Birria Beef Tacos. I've never been much for trying something that I'm unfamiliar with, but it's Julio's so I knew it wouldn't be bad. Our typical dinner here consists of Large Frozen Margaritas, with Queso and Chips to start. Then we make our way into one of the many superbly authentic Tex-Amex dishes on the menu.
