Placed an order through DoorDash with high hopes as we had heard great things about the food. We ordered the Mixed Grill Platter, Garlic naan, & Saag paneer. Would have been great to modify the spice level because we found the saag pretty bland. Portion sizes were small for the pricing & the meat on the grilled platter was unfortunately dry. Great take out. The naan was dry but everything was tasty. The saag was good. The chickpea curry was very spicy. The portions are a bit small for the price. The spice meter on the menu seemed inconsistent but as someone who doesn't do spicy, it was fine for me. read more

They have a buffet my husband loves. It is pretty great. They have a vegetarian part of the buffet (which is always the only part I eat) and they had a signboard saying it as $18 as opposed to $20 that I caught on the way out. Just wow! The chicken popsicles were so flavorful as was the lemon rice. But the real kicker was the goat pepper fry was almost exactly like my Mom's! Now I know where to go for my childhood cuisine! The food is absolutely amazing and we always order more than we can eat so we take home leftovers. I'm a junkie for the lamb korma and my husband loves the Goan shrimp curry. An area that could use improvement is serving the table at the same time, sometimes many minutes separate each person getting their food and it takes away from the point, which is sharing a meal with friends and family. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the flavors of each dish. 5/5 Vegetable samosas. The flavor is In-credi-ble! It's hard to explain how potatoes can have such a depth of flavor but it was accomplished with this dish. 5/5 Hummus w/garlic naan. The garlic naan is delicious and seasoned thoroughly. The hummus is a perfect pairing in both texture and flavor. It's a beautiful pairing. 5/5 Chicken Vindaloo. It was very spicy but manageable. I sipped my mango lassi and constantly dipped garlic naan in the hummus and it assisted with the heat. Overall this was an outstanding dinner. I swear the food gets better and better every time we come, which is pretty much weekly at this point! The lunch buffet is THE BEST in the entire Houston area IMHO. Everything is fresh and you can tell they use quality ingredients. Nothing is over-saturated in oil. I could go on and on but y'all gotta come try it for yourself! I was so disappointed and will never go there again. We were the only ones in the restaurant on Monday Aug 25th. All the food was cold at the buffet. There was so little food in the bowls. The owner lady said that due to the air-conditioning the top gets cold and that we are supposed to stir each pot before serving. Such nonsense!! The Naans were just stacked, like from yesterday. The Butter Chicken had that rich, creamy sauce you hope for but rarely get just right. Portions were generous, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and comfortable. This is easily one of the best Indian meals I've had in a long time. The Taj Mahal lager paired perfectly with everything. The naan garlic bread is delicious and super fresh. My family and I ordered lamb, chicken biriyani and chicken tikka kabob. Everything was delicious. Service was really good. The owner stopped by our table to asked how was everything and she gave us rice pudding (on the house). At the end of my lunch I order Mango Lassi. For the weekend, it was $18.99 for buffet plus $1 extra for soda fountain. The unsweetened hot chai is included in the buffet price. I recommend trying the masala fried fish, briyanis, and vegetable korma. The mutter paneer, butter chicken, chicken keema, paneer tikka pizza, and naan (butter or garlic) were tasty too. The bread pudding was very sweet and had a mix of toasty bread slices on the edges to contrast with the soaked and warm bread pieces. The sweet mango pudding was chilled and had pieces of fresh blueberries and sliced strawberries on top. The rasam (spicy soup) was hot and spicy. 10/19/2025. Visited this East Indian restaurant solo. The menu covers the typical range of masalas and curries, but the vegetarian and vegan selection is notably large, taking up an entire page. Spice levels were clearly labeled, which is helpful for ordering. I started with the Gobi, a fried cauliflower appetizer in a tangy, spiced sauce. It was light and fluffy, serving as a good, non-meat starter. The heat was mild and didn't linger. The dish included onions, bay leaves, cilantro garnish, and small components that appeared to be jalapeño skins. For the main course, I had the Mixed Vegetable Chettinaad, which was delicious. It's a peppercorn and coconut curry with a solid mix of vegetables, including carrots, peas, potatoes, and both green and red peppers. I would 100% eat that main dish again. The garlic naan I ordered wasn't crunchy, but the flavor was excellent, making it better than other naan I've had. Service from the server, Sai, was good; he was friendly and willing to talk about the menu. The ambiance featured background jazz music, which was pleasant, although I think some mellow Indian instrumental music would better suit the overall theme. We had the lunch buffet and ordered some items from the menu. Every single item tasted fresh with well balanced spices. The chicken and paneer were soft. Coconut rice was flavorful. Dosa's were crispy with tasty sambar and chutneys. My kids loved the paneer tikka pizza. Place is clean and has ample parking. The standout dish was the chicken lollipops with chef's special sauce. The sauce was so good, i could buy a whole jar of it. I have been to a ton of Indian restaurants, palette has to be my new favorite spot in Houston. I will definitely be visiting again. We went to Palette Indian Kitchen for lunch during the week and the first thing that we noticed after entering was all of the delightful aromas that filled the restaurant. We knew immediately that we were in for a treat. Since it was our first time, we opted for the buffet so that we could try a variety of their dishes. Of the many things we tried, all were very flavorful and delicious. It is not unusual for a restaurant buffet to focus more on quantity than quality, but this was not the case at Palette. The plentiful buffet items were of a quality that one would expect if ordering off of the menu. We finished lunch with what I was told was their "famous" bread pudding-fame which we discovered was well deserved. Service and friendliness of the owners and staff were of the same high quality as the food. Prices were very reasonable and well worth the quality and tastiness of the food. Although a bit off of the beaten track from our home in The Woodlands, it was well worth the journey and we look forward to returning soon. read more

However my waiter was so helpful and knowledgeable and made my first experience a great one. She helped me order and I loved everything I got.
