As a consumer who hasn't bought a new car in 12 years I was worried about buying in the current market given the climate of supply and demand in recent months. My fears were quickly turned into excitement when I walked through the doors of Horne Hyundai. I knew the exact car I wanted and had actually already put down a deposit at another location for that car and only came to Horne to test drive a Tuscon they had on the lot. Everything changed when I met Jay. He was the ONLY customer service representative that actually took time to explain everything to me with unmatched patience and professionalism. I liked him so much that I withdrew my deposit from the other location and put a deposit down on one from Horne Hyundai in Apache Junction, mainly because of Jay's excellent customer service. The GM, Steve, was extremely accommodating and even went and got my daughter crayons and a coloring book to occupy her (which is above and beyond what is expected). Carlos handled the finance portion and was professional and knowledgeable. From start to finish this is THE BEST experience I have ever had at a car dealership. If I could give 10 stars I would. I've purchased trucks, cars and jeeps from Earnhardt (nicest salesman, just didn't have what she wanted) , Bill Luke, Auto-nation and Air-park Dodge and this experience alone would convince me to buy from something like Carvana before ever returning there. He will cheat you and not bat an eye, My son and I tried to buy a vehicle (NEW to my son) but used to the world, and we negotiated the price DOWN with the salmon and had a deal, they even came out and made us sign a document that said "You Win", then when we went to pay, they said "no sorry the GM will not allow us to sell it for a price this low". Now keep in mind this is AFTER they negotiated with us and went back to their sales manger several times to get approval. Filled a BBB complaint about their ethics, and the GM made up another story to the BBB. Husband traded in Santa Fe for another, was guaranteed no mileage surcharge if we leased again with Hyundai and yet got a bill later for $845. Unable to speak to anyone from Hyundai Finance back during early Covid-19 and was told to payoff the $845 mileage charge online although his account showed a $0 balance due upon login. Hyundai Finance is no help and neither is the dealership in trying to resolve. Just went to re-finance our home and not only was this issue reported to the credit agencies as a write off, but his credit score is now -100 points because of their mistake AND HE PAID THE $845 hoping this would just get resolved and they would reimburse him once they reviewed the paperwork! I would be giving them five stars for employees like Michael in the service department and Joseph in sales as well as the managers in sales. My experience today with Dixie their service department employee who answers the phone was a very negative experience. Let's start off with Dixie hanging up on me a total of four times. Dixie was very rude and was more than willing and suggested to put her boss John on the phone showing she has an attitude that's she's invincible and can't get in trouble. Well after reading back yelp reviews this isn't her first complaint with a customer that buys multiple cars from this dealership. My last review was taken down less than 2 days after I posted it. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, 30 days since my deal funded and they still have not paid off my trade and now my credit is in jeopardy. Went to the dealership in person after 2 weeks of phone calls got me nowhere. General manager was rude and arrogant throwing the blame on me. My deal had funded more than 2 weeks prior to my personal visit. That was a week ago. As of today my trade still not paid. They never filed a sold notice with the state on the trade and I received notice from ADOT that they were going to suspend my registration. Now I read on the BBB website complaints about getting scammed with an additional extended warranty because lender supposedly required it when that was not the case. Guess what? They told me the same thing. Got charged $899 for aforementioned extended warranty. I'll be calling my lender tomorrow to see if they required it! Run far and fast from this place. They are shady! Bought 2014 Sonata in May. Had to get car transferred from Peoria dealer. All was ok until my temp plates were close to expiring. Called 2 weeks b4 expiring as instructed by dealership. We were told that the paperwork is at DMV & they are slow after snowbird season so it takes a while. Now it's 3 says b4 it's due. Called back & found out that paperwork was never sent from Peoria outlet. Lied to & pissed about it, they try to defend saying we are lying. They told my wife to not get testy. One of the roof rails on my 2019 Hyundai Tucson came loose after going through a local car wash. The service writer as well as the service manager said it would not be covered due to "collision damage" and sent me on my way. Now, I wasn't worried about a little scuff mark,but why it came loose in the 1st place. Neither of them took the time to actually take the rail off and look to see what might have happened. I took it the next day to Walt's body shop in Apache Junction fully prepared to have them order a new one. He took the old one off and looked at the threads on the bolts, popped off the little caps, installed 4 nuts and said that it had never been bolted down from the factory. Just wondering why the "service department" didn't want to take a look for the reason for it becoming loose in the first place. I wouldn't recommend the service department for that very reason. 5 minutes and they would have found the cause. read more

My car was cared for very well. The waiting area is comfortable. Staff is friendly. However, the service/prices aren't as good as they used to be at this dealership. I used to bring the 2007 Hyundai Entourage here for just about everything since the dealership's prices were comparable to other places. This time my transmission flush at Horne was $239 whereas the same service was available at Full Circle Auto for $129.00. I chose Horne this time because I needed to have a diagnostic done, which I was charged for. Horne used to provide complimentary diagnostics and recommendations that made it worth paying a few extra dollars for a service. I no longer feel like I'm getting great deals on routine maintenance. BEWARE!! Unequivocally the worst experience ever- not just at a car dealership. The salesman was quite objectively sleazy. Pressure, fast talk and disinformation was his game. He was like a characterfure of a used cal salesman but selling new cars instead. When the deal fell through, he actually called my girlfriend and me obscenities and began screaming at us and berating us. He literally threw our keys at us and wanted to go outside and FIGHT. The guy was truly and completely insane and his co-workers had to physically restrain him. The sales manager was NOT apologetic but one of the other salesman was clearly ashamed. As a physician and military officer, I strongly cautio you against choosing to investigate Hyundais at this very small and shady dealership. Rude customer service from the beginning. Husband traded in vehicle 8/19/18. Four days later call to say loan didn't go thru...why because your lazy and only sent it to one bank. Had me come in to co-sign. 8/23/18. It is now 9/6/18 called to ask about why our vehicle has not been paid off. They have 3 weeks to pay off vehicles for anyone who doesn't know this although they request A ten-day pay off so if your vehicle isn't paid off you will owe whatever interest you have passed those 10 days and if your payment is due you'll be required to make your next payment also. When I didn't get a phone call back I decided to go in in in person Philip was extremely rude as he was the first day that we got the car. He got the general manager and basically they told me that I was upset because I had to trade in my vehicle. They assured me that my trade-in would be paid off before my next payment is due it's been 19 days since I've given them my vehicle and still no check has been cut to have my vehicle paid off I went to the bank to verify this after I left their dealership. on the new vehicle the bank has no information or paperwork for the new car and the payment is due in a couple weeks. So if you want the job to have to follow up making sure your shit gets paid off go ahead and buy from this dealership. Basically told me they didn't have time for me they had more important things to deal with and deal with me. read more

Purchased second Santa Fe from this business. First one, a 2009, had issues of engine just dying in middle of 60-70 mph travel. They couldn't find problem. Happened to be in Boise, ID, one day, took it to a dealer there and they had problem fixed in 10 minutes. Now have a 2017 Santa Fe purchased from this dealer and having engine stalling issues. Have had to dealer 3 or 4 times, they can find no problems although numerous complaints across the nation for same problem; they can find nothing. Took car in because airbag light coming on. Under warranty, part ordered. Took in for replacement and about 2 days later light comes on again. Gave it some time to maybe reboot but not such luck. Took it back and THIS time they found connection in passenger seat is trouble. They are ordering new passenger seat. If this issue is ever resolved, I will not be doing business with this dealer or their service people. If dealer cannot get good, knowledgeable service people, then they shouldn't advertise that service is available. Bad service reflects on whole business! read more

I bought a 2020 Palisades from Horne Hyundai on April 12, 2020. I was sold a Customer Care Plan by Steve Bennett, who is not the normal finance manager. When I went to change to synthetic motor oil I found out there were hidden charges. That is the one thing I asked him about because I wanted synthetic motor oil. I called Hyundai USA and found out that their FREE SERVICE PLAN covers it for less money. I called Steve Bennett 3 times and he DID NOT even have the decency to call me back. He pawned me off on someone else that said too bad. I found out that he didn't even sign me up for the warranty he said he would. When I tried to cancel and get my money back they said only prorate i and no refund even though it was wrong and I was lied too. Yesterday, I took my Palisade in and had the oil changed at Horne. Today my wiper fluid didn't work. I took it back and they said a hose was disconnected. They can't even do an oil change without messing it up. Out of the whole situation I would not be writing this if Steve had bothered to speak to me and not be disrespectful and act like customer's don't matter. I will never deal with Horne Hyundai again. I say buyer beware!!!!! They sound great while they are selling you but don't let anything happen. read more

I give this business o stars! I've been a loyal customer at this business, and have bought four vehicles from this company. I believe in shopping local,but no more Horne Hyundai for me ! I purchased a 2012 Hyundai Sonata there,four years ago with a platinum warranty that added hundreds of dollars to the cost. I had no problems with this vehicle and only drove it around locally, so it is still low mileage. It recently developed a shimmy in front with the steering. I looked it up online and it was a recall for this car, a rubber bushing in the steering column. I explained to Mike ,the person who received the car at Horne, I only wanted warranty ,or recall work done on the vehicle ,since I have major medical bills at this time. I left the car ,and within a half hour he called and said there were wires that would have to be cut and resoldered to do the job, and they were not covered by the warranty and would be $250 to do. The car ,being unsafe to drive as is I agreed. When I picked up the car there was an extra $27 dollars added on as tax,making the total $277. He showed me the wires they cut and spliced, four # 18 wires. Each about the size of a ramen noodle. I was an electrician for 45 years. An first year apprentice could have done that job in 15 minutes ! $75 dollars per wire ! Needless to say ,I wont be doing business there anymore ! If I could do zero stars I would ! We bought a vehicle from them last year, Go to trade it in this weekend and the carfax that we never got from them, but from the new dealer, has a total loss, insurance against it. What does this mean? This dealership sold me a car that was totaled out because it was cheaper to write a check to a person than to fix the damages. Was I informed of this? He had not gotten back to me by the end of my work day so I gave the dealership a call and was told they were "hacked" and that it was not a valid sale. How convenient a hacker tapped into TrueCar and made a single post at a phoenix suburb dealership. What a random hacker. The next day at work, the salesman I had previously emailed replied only saying "where is this published?" and NOTHING else, not even a professional signature. I responded and heard nothing. EPIC FAIL - pulled into the parking lot to pick up my daughters car got out and heard air coming out of one of my tires. Turns out I ran over a valve stem and it stuck in my new tires. I asked fir the general manager who left me waiting for 30 minutes, he never came out. I was told by some guy who never introduced himself that they weren't goi g to do anything and offered me 2 free oil changes to show what a good guy he was. So my 200.00 tire will cost them I will never buy a car from them, they will lose all my service dollars, not to mention my other kids will be driving Toyotas. read more

We bought our car here, were treated very well (got it through USAA) and have had all our service done here. Until our last visit this past week, I have been very happy with all of my interactions with Horne Hyundai. That has changed slightly and I need to post a review for others to consider, FYI, nothing more. Took our 2016 Elantra in for an oil change at 15,000. Horne had provided a nicely discounted coupon for us and it was much appreciated. When the car was returned, I was told it needed a front end alignment due to early signs of tire wear. I was also told my inside cabin air filter would require attention. Interesting, as I had personally changed that filter the day prior to the oil change, with a Hyundai filter purchased at Horne. Nobody bothered to physically look at the filter. The manual suggests replacement at 15,000 miles. A brand new filter does not require any attention. That cast some credibility doubts in my mind about the alignment issue. I am not a tire professional but I saw no signs of wear and the car tracked beautifully, even when I removed my hands from the wheel. So I first went to Discount Tire and they could find no signs of abnormal wear whatsoever. I then took it to the shop that has done my front end alignments for years. They found no wear issues and saw no need at all for an alignment. The service department at Horne made no effort to try and force me to purchase these services and I need to give them credit for that. However, I am concerned about the "subtle" effort made to provide additional services that were not needed, especially the cabin filter that was not even physically inspected. The tire wear issue could be called a "difference of opinion" I suppose. But myself, and two other experts, felt Horne's opinion was without merit. Those are the facts, nothing else. We love the car and the deal we got when it was purchased. We have been treated very well for the past year and a half for our basic service & parts needs. And I will continue to take all Hyundai recommended service issues to them in the future. However, their credibility has been tainted with regards to "other" issues that may surface and I will take those needs elsewhere. Sorry Horne ... you had a very loyal customer but something went wrong and you need to correct it before it gets worse. read more

We were just needing to finalize the other car, the 2012 Tucson but we could not find the right color choice on their lot. I received a recall notice regarding the Airbag Control Unit Hyundai for my 2012 Sonta Hybrid. I called on Nov. 12th or 13th for an appointment to bring my car in to have the recall repaired. My appointment was for Friday, Nov. 16th at 12:30 pm. I arrived early to drop my car off (which I was told was OK to do). When I walked in to leave my keys (at approximately 10 or 10:30 am) I was told by one of the men at the front service desk he would have to get someone else from in the 'back' to help me. A man came out and told me that they can't work on my vehicle because they just 'sold the last unit' and that I would have to come back at another time. I had just driven 27 miles, one way, to have the work done. Needless to say, I was VERY upset. The response that I got from 'the guy in the back' was just a shrug of his shoulders... he could have cared less. I called the dealership after I returned home and got the name of the General Manager, Steve Bennett. I left a message asking him to call me... he never did. I called again on November 27th, and I got to speak to Steve Bennett and he said he would get back to me, he gave me the impression that it would be that day. He did indicate that they would get my vehicle in ASAP and pay for my gas. He never called. I called AGAIN today, November 29th and asked to speak to Bennett again, supposedly he was on the phone. I left a message for him to call me. He NEVER did. After reading some of the other reviews, I agree with them, the people at Horne Hyundai are NOT reliable and you can't believe a word they say. I still do not have my vehicle recall repaired and Horne, from their lack of action, could care less! read more

Sketchy and shady. When speaking to the salesman he asked us if we were LDS. I have bought many cars and I have never been asked my religion. We should of left then. I bought a new car and the salesman was telling us how wonderful the warranty was. He neglected to tell us it was an additional l $4000.00 dollars that they tried to sneak in. We made the decision to buy the car within 30 min. We sat there for 5 hrs. while they did the paper work. When I noticed this charge I had to ask them about it. We were worn down and it was after 6:30 pm and I had only taken one day off from work to buy the car. When we confronted the salesman as we were leaving he acted shocked and surprised. It was an act. We had a coupon for $40.00 dollar gift card if we test drove a car. I had it on my phone but the sales man wanted me to get into my email on his laptop to print it out and it made me uneasy especially after he had my social security number on his lap top and then asked me to write it on a piece of a paper and he kept telling me he would shred it. He told us we could print it out at home and bring it back. We went back and this guy came up to us and we explained the coupon and he started yelling at us and told us we could come back another time. He put his hand out as if he was going to push my husband. We told him no this is the last day for this offer and he screamed at us and walked away. Under his breathe he muttered the C word. He went in a glass room. He had Lori help us. We left very quickly as the guy was glaring at us and I did not feel safe. I did not know if he had some mental problem and would attack us. He glared at us even when we went to leave.Who treats their customers like this? Is this how they market the Horne brand? I will never go back. There are plenty of other Hyundai dealers that know how to treat their customers. This is not one of them.
