Once at the dealership, we browsed the lot and I selected a different vehicle. Financing vehicles has always been an issue over my lifetime due to the inaccuracy of Experian and the other reporting agencies. However, Jason and Roberto made it seamless. More important than the upfront service and care these individuals provided to a new customer is the follow-up and follow-through following the sale. I went in wanting to purchase a vehicle between $10-15k cash. I did test drive a few, and found one that might fit all my requirements. When I went in to do the numbers with Roberto, he was snarky. I found an extra charge of $999 added under what he called recon fee. So, they put a competitive price on their website, and then he said Dale adds $999-$2000 extra under that heading. Ultimately, they refused to take that charge off. He also got an attitude when I had said I'd be doing a prepurchase inspection. Roberto said he'd speak with Dale and see about getting the charge dropped and get back to me. He didn't. I had to call back, and he acted like he had completely forgotten, but would call the owner right away and get back to me. A few minutes later, I received a call from a Dan who said he was in charge and would not take off the additional charge. For what they had raised the price on an older Ford Escape to, I could get a very nice corolla at Toyota. Be very cognizant of how this dealership adds on fees and frowns on prepurchase inspections. The only reason I gave this business two stars is because the sales agent Jeff was polite. We came in to see/test drive two vehicles, both of which were slightly overpriced based on market sales but still within a reasonable negotiating range in my opinion. We were fully prepared to pay the actual list price on one of the vehicles in addition to the standard doc, title, registration and taxes. The deal fell apart when they tried to tack on $500 for window tint which the car didn't have, nor did we need or want it and another $2500 as a "reconditioning fee". They claim that this is their cost to get the vehicle sale ready. Mind you, one of the vehicles we came in to look at was covered in dog/cat hair, had stains everywhere and reeked of cigarette smoke. False/misleading advertising and deal padding at its best. Dealerships like these give the used car industry a bad name as a whole. The cherry on top was when they told us the vehicle was actually priced $2000 lower than it should have been. Don't waste your time with this dealer unless you have a deal in writing before you even come in. read more

I dealt with Ron and Jennifer mostly, and Dennis the manager was quite informative and transparent about pricing. Ron went above and beyond answering my questions about trade- in value and helped with transport. Jennifer did the paperwork seamlessly and efficiently. Purchased a Chevy Traverse from here a month and a half ago. 3 weeks after purchase it started acting up and the gauges went sideways. made an appointment to have it fixed. They replaced the alternator and fuel pump. 2 weeks later check engine light came on. Took it back because the light said it was the part they replaced. They put a new part in it. Drove it 3 days light came back on. was told to take it for the extended warranty even thought it was the same problem they fixed. Took it to their extended warranty place. They replaced the part. 3 weeks later light on again. Just took it back today, was treated like crap. No offfering for a rental. Made me wait 2 hours to get an answer on the check engine light only to be told they can't duplicate the check engine light that is clear on. The service guy at PFG Funding which is the extended warranty place was rude and told me that if I made better plans I wouldn't be stranded there waiting with no car. I said I was told to bring it in and they'd honor a rental because it's a warranty issue. Completely rude. They have no concern for how they treat people. They don't care about anyone. Update 5-22-20: Took my car in for it's routine oil change & my mechanic found oil spray under the engine. Said this has been going on for quite some time. It also has a blockage in the AC unit. And to top it off, a Service Airbag message. So, I spoke w/the head manager at the Mesa location on Main & was basically told tough luck. If I wanted to roll the dice buying a used car, I would have bought one from a private seller. I'm finding they have a lot of crooks in the car dealership business in AZ. You buy used from this place, best of luck because you'll find 1/2 of what is probably wrong w/it, isn't covered under your whopping "15 day" warranty. Screw this place! Naturally the finance price suddenly is revealed to be $2000.00 more than the advertised price which was not mentioned once until now even though we called and specifically asked about the good price of the car before driving all the way up. Brett tried to reassure my friend that he would never not tell about the 2 prices and make someone drive all that way. This was a blatant lie, it was never mentioned. Brett offered to call his GM and get the price dropped by $1000.00 so only a 1,000.00 price kink instead of 2000.00. We passed and left the dealership basically letting them know they were not honest. Less than 5 minutes later they texted my friend that he had called his GM and magically they can now do the $11,891.00 advertised price and they would eat the cost. Sure.....Im sure thats exactly what he did. I dont do business with dishonest people and neither does my friend. I wouldn't buy an ice cream cone from this place and I encourage anyone who reads this to not put yourself through the same waste of a day we did today. I was looking at a truck they had on the lot for a very good price. My girlfriend had secured financing and we drove out to finalize the deal. When I spoke to a gentleman there at the dealership a few days before, he first stated over the phone that we could word in the paper work that the deal is pending an inspection by a mechanic within 3 days of the initial sale. Should the vehicle have any major mechanical issues then the sale would no longer be valid. Well, when we got down there at about 445pm the same sales guy claims he never said that and once the sale is done, any problems are my problems. I told him that in that case I need to take it to a mechanic before signing any paperwork. Upon taking it to a mechanic the mechanic found two problems with the vehicle, 1) Rack and pinion was seeping. The mechanic stated this was not a major issue as it was only about a $300 fix and at this point it was only seeping and not a full blown leak. 2) The truck required a new A/C compressor. This fix was close to $2000 dollars. The mechanic actually let me look under the truck with him and showed me where the issues were. Any mechanic that has a clue what they are doing would have seen this. Where the first seepage was you could see complete saturation. The leak was completely visible as you could see from under the hood or under the truck. The mechanic stated that the fluid was a green color so any mechanic could simply turn on a black light and see the leak without any problems. Either way, he stated that if it wasn't addressed soon the A/C would be blowing hot air within a month or so. I took the findings back to the dealer and told him under those circumstances I could not purchase the vehicle unless they at least fixed the A/C compressor. He actually stated that he was surprised they found anything because 'their mechanic' gave it a clean bill of health. I told him that I, definitely not a mechanic, could show him the fluid in the engine compartment to show the leak... he declined. I told him to call the individual that was handling the deal to see if there was anything we could do on price. First he tells the other individual that I came back with a laundry list of problems on the truck (there were 2), to conclude the call they said to 'send us on our merry way'. He stated that they'd need to replace the part and jack up the price of the truck to cover the expense. If that's what they actually would have done that would have been the right thing. Looking on their website they had the vehicle listed for the same price up until they listed it as sold. read more

I purchased a 2000 dodge ram last week from them for about $5.800.it had 180.000 miles on it so i exspected there to be a few repairs that would need to be done.the day after i bought it the check engin light came on.i had it looked at and was told it was a miss fire code and that it could be as simple as a bad spark plug or as bad as a low compression in that cylinder.i went and talked to the gentleman that sold me the truck and exsplained to him that if its something easy like plugs or wires i would take care of it,but if it was low compression what would they do to help out.he pretty much told me that unless the engine blows up the warranty doesn't cover it and pretty much i was on my own and not to worry that he was pretty confident that it doesn't have bad compression.i exspained how i now have no more money (i put $3.800 down) and couldn't afford to pay someone to tear the engine completely apart and fix it.he said a low compression doesn't mean the engin isn't good.what has to be done for him to consider a engine bad?i had the truck looked at and it doesn't have low compression (thank god) but i still dont know what is wrong with it.i had a mechanic look at the truck before i bought it and it all checked out.my mechanic told me yesterday that they could've cleared all the codes and it hadn't gone through its full cycle to reset the code until afer i drove off the lot.i just want everyone to be careful if you buy from here. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE! My husband and I bought a 2004 Hyundai Elantra with a little over 100,000 miles for $6000 back in February 2016. It is June 2016 and it has broken down four separate times! We pushed really hard in early May for them to fix the car and they did for an additional $1000. Whet they fixed included a timing belt with many of its teeth missing. Today, while my husband was driving to work, this timing belt FELL OUT of the car and he almost got in a serious accident as he struggled to break. A death could've happened due to their negligence! I bought a used SUV here for cash. I was told on the contract that there was "some rust" on the bottom. After buying it new brakes and tires (tires were rotted, and front brakes almost gone) I took it to a mechanic who put it up on his lift. Ideal had shown me just one rusted part on the rear frame that could be repaired by welding. But the mechanic showed me several areas where the frame had 90% rusted through, and he said "this thing is an accident waiting to happen! Do NOT drive this! Return it and get your money back!" I expect a battle on this, since when I told Mark about the brakes all he did was tell me his mechanics would fix them for more money. He also seems to think that dealerships (yes, even used car ones like Ideal) do not have an obligation to the customer to sell them SAFE and roadworthy vehicles per AZ Revised Statutes Title 44-1267. ALL DEALERS have an implied warranty (yes it's on the contract) to not sell any vehicle which is unsafe. Theses guys are sleazy; I would never do business with them again! Now I am stuck with a defective, unsafe SUV which cannot be repaired and which I dare not drive. read more

I went looking for a 4x4 pickup and on the phone the guy told me he had one so I drove 40 min to Mesa to find out they only had 2WD and the trucks looked in ruff shape, one had a bad paint job making it look nice on the outside sort of with some DIY rhino lining sprayed on the plastics around the wheels and bumper. The sales man was older and unmotivated to help or sell anything. He lacked knowledge and info on every truck I asked about. He left me in the parking lot in over 110 degrees for 15 min just standing there. I asked about another SUV I had seen on their website so he called the East Mesa location and told them I was on my way. It was a Nissan Xterra that he swore was an amazing vehicle in excellent condition. I get to that location 25 min later and find out it was water damaged on the inside(maybe a flood, who knows) Rust under the dash is never a good sign. Then I find out from the manager, they buy all there cars from auctions. This dealership is just looking to make a quick buck flipping cars. Tires all shot on there vehicles unlike other dealerships that always put new tires on and do better inspections. Who in there right mind buys a car with water damage especially a dealership they should know better. I would never go back and you shouldn't either. read more
