I didn't feel any pressure when I took my car here. They were probably the cleanest mechanics shop I've ever seen... they even had free coffee which was really nice or you could buy a soft drink! My wife brought her car in for a wheel alignment only. When she returned, she was handed a long list of recommended repairs--each with high price tags--which left her confused and upset. I went in to speak with the desk manager, who claimed this was part of their standard service policy. We don't agree with that approach, especially when it wasn't requested. I also noticed we were double-charged for the alignment, which he apologized for and corrected. This isn't the kind of shop that simply performs the service requested. The inspection report showed a leaking shock. this did not surprise me as my undercarriage had been hit with debris while traveling. took it back for the shocks and noticed immediately the difference. Just as good as any other shop. I wouldn't waste your time here. I'm not sure who licensed your mechanics but the fact that they can't diagnose and fix an oil leak the first time on a 97 ford ranger is pretty sad. Probably the easiest truck you can fix. I spent 5500 here to get work done on it and I think they just half a** it because it's an old truck that doesn't look pretty. I will never recommend this place and will never bring any of my vehicles here. I would love to shake the hand of the mechanic that can't fix a standard 4 cyl engine. Sad. read more

I don't tend to leave reviews, but this one needed to be left. I went to Rustic Wrench several times and was quite happy at first. I left after one day when I had an appointment that was completed. I left the shop and after 10min or so I heard a grinding noise in the tires. I immediately went back but was told they had other customers they had to cater to now. Even though I'd had an appointment that day and had only been gone maybe a half hour. They said they would put the car up and check it out real quick. Make sure it wasn't the rotors, etc. They told me everything was fine, so, I left. The noise came back shortly after. I took it to another shop, and they put it up, and said it was the rotors. The new shop replaced the rotors and the noise was gone. Rustic didn't check anything I suspect and even made a show of pretending they did. The second time was when they changed the transmission fluid. Took roughly and hour and 15 min. Fast forward a few months I'm at the new shop and they check the transmission fluid. They mentioned it had a burnt smell to it as though it was old. I asked the new shop to change it and come to find out the transmission doesn't even have a drain plug. You have to drop the whole filter to replace the fluid and the silicone takes 3 hrs to dry. Once again, I suspect Rustic never changed the fluid. They only said they did. The last time was when Rustic changed the drain plug in the rear differential. The drain plug came out on it's own and the fluid leaked out. Now I need to plan on replacing the whole rear end. I have talked to two professionals who both stated, if done right, there is no reason the drain plug should have fallen out. As I said, I don't normally leave reviews, but since on three separate occasions I can point to Rustic not doing their job correctly, or even at all, I felt I should make sure the information was there for others. read more

The week of 5/27 I brought my 2017 Honda Civic in because the AC started blowing hot air on 5/24. I noticed the compressor pulley was no longer spinning. At this time there were no other issues with the car and was averaging 38mpgs with the AC on (I'm well aware that any car will have a performance degradation with the AC on). I was informed they would not replace just the compressor and would only do the work if the entire AC unit was replaced (compressor, condenser, evaporator, lines and refrigerant...etc). Reluctantly I agreed since a warranty would be involved for a grand total of $2700. Once I picked the car up I immediately noticed a performance degradation, but since this is my wife's car I thought it might just be me. After a week of driving my wife started complaining that she too had noticed the sluggishness of the engine and a strange high pitched noise. In addition the MPG dropped to 26 MPG. I called the Rustic Wrench up and was told this is normal with all cars having the AC on. We have had this car since brand new and it has always performed the same since the day we bought it. I did have some back and forth disagreements about A/C performance. Thomas called me back and asked that I bring the car back in. They determined that the new compressor was bad and replaced it. We brought the car home and everything was great. After 4 days, the same symptoms returned. I reluctantly called Thomas and returned the car. He replaced the compressor again this time with Honda parts and the car has been working great since. Very professional and completely honest. I had my tires rotated at Costco and on the work order it stated that car needs alignment due to uneven tire wear. This, despite the fact that the car drove in a straight line with no pulling and that tire wear according to my tread gauge was even. As I wanted to preserve my tire warranty with Costco I took the car into Rustic Wrench for alignment and they checked it and told me it did not need one and did not charge me for the examination. They finished working on my SUV within 36hours of dropping it off. They installed the manufacturer fuel pump and it came with 3/36k mile warranty. Great customer service and they did a great job. My only knock would be I wish they would take pictures of the issue beforehand and pictures of the installment after as well. Went to the shop to get an estimate on replacement of motor mounts. They warned me ahead of time the aftermarket mounts weren't worth the hassle of insuring and all of that. The estimate was reasonable and actually a few dollars less than the dealership and I save a little gas, as their repair business is local. Upon inspection they found additional damage which was of no surprise to me. They tightened up my front end and it no longer makes that clunking sound when negotiating a corner. I'm an addict. And Rustic Wrench is my 'fixer'/'dealer' When I first came to Rustic Wrench it was to get a second opinion on a water pump. I have a 2011 Lincoln MKT and unbeknownst to anyone but Ford/Lincoln engineers the engine has to be removed to get to the water pump. Rustic wrench convinced me 1. 'The car is worth fixing' just what I wanted to hear. 2. They could and did fix it for a fourth of the price that the other shop quoted. I was 'Hooked' Since that day I've had almost everything, bumper to bumper fixed, replaced or repaired, except the engine and transmission (the transmission has been "flushed out") Words that kept me 'hooked': the car is worth it, you'll get 1/2 million miles out of that car, it's cheaper than making car payments. All music to my ears. Now, I've been made to wonder if I was too emotionally attracted to my car. New words that I've heard (not from Rustic Wrench) 'taken advantage of' 'senior abuse' From July of 2021 till July 2025 the MKT has made no less than 10 visits to Rustic Wrench and I've spent $15,107 in repairs. Credit to Rustic Wrench they have "warranty work" of $3970 for a total of $19,077. Kenny Rogers's song 'the gamble': "know when to hold em know when to fold em". Rustic Wrench, the dealer, the fixer won't tell you when to 'fold' Have a friend who will stop you if you don't have the will power Having said all this Rustic Wrench knows their stuff, yes they got some bad parts Most of all, know when to stop pouring your money into a car that is not worth it. After spending $3200 with them replacing parts which were just replaced, a found the real problem with another mechanic: my timing chain and gears were worn at 192,000 miles to create the misfire problem. I don't know if there is a real mechanic over there. They just read codes and replace parts without considering what the real problem is, or how much it will cost the owner. read more
