We were able to get through the summer (surprisingly). We thought we were close to affording the repairs so we began our search. Everyone wanted to charge anywhere between $75 - $200 just to look at it. Some wrapped that fee into the service and others didn't (won't point any fingers). Rustic Wrench said no strings attached, let us look at it and give you a quote. Sometimes it's a trick to get you in the door, but I got there, they looked, gave me a quote, gave me super reasonable payment options for paying, and let me decide. I left with a quote and a full breakdown of the work that needed to be done. They did not ask for a dime, they didn't shoot ninety-nine sales people at me, they didn't ask me why i didn't do it then and there. They just let me go about my day. I went home and talked it over with the wife. We had our baseline and now how to pay for this. So we put it out there. Everyone was charging about the same price, but also wanted to charge me to look it over again. I am not super confident in what these mechanics should be charging but if this one is looking at for free and giving an honest competitive fee for the work... you get it. We decided on sticking with Rustic Wrench. The price they quoted was the price we paid. The work was done to satisfaction. Here is what truly stands out for Rustic Wrench. Everyone at there front desk area is not just super polite and sociable as you would expect for someone in a "customer service" role, but they knew the work as if they did it themselves. Brittany (she helped me end to end) was especially awesome. With this experience we have made the decision that's Rustic Wrench is our go to moving forward. No shopping around. No thinking it over. Good inventory management when a small shop has an air and fuel filter for a 15 year old diesel pickup on hand. They topped off all the fluids and checked the drivetrain fluids. Using CarFax they pointed out my coolant was overdue for flushing and replacing, so I got that done also. Tire pressure checked and adjusted. The entire process took less than an hour and their prices are less than dealership prices. And I have never gotten in and out service from a dealership like Take 5. I would recommend them highly.

Next day my car was overheating with indicator on the dash. I popped the hood and learned that they had left pliers clamped to the overflow reservoir line. I unclamped it and took the wrench back to the manager and complained. He said thanks for returning it and NEVER SAID SORRY. My sister took the car down to Tucson while she was vacationing here last week, and it overheated once again, leaving her sitting on the side of the road for 30 minutes while it cooled down so that she could drive to Tucson Jiffy Lube. The guy said he would be glad to check her levels, but would need to charge her if the radiator needed topping off. She was frustrated and drove off in disgust. She then went to TAKE-5 OIL CHANGE.... they opened the radiator and found dirty brown rustiy fluid. She paid them to reflush the radiator and now its fixed. So I went back to the AJ Mngr and presented my invoices and asked for my money back... he said that he would bump it up to the District Mngr.... finally received full refund after two weeks. Wont ever patronize Jiffy Lube again- Take-5 has my future business!
