I needed all new shocks/struts which they charged considerably more for parts than expected. I expect inflated prices, but a 4x mark up for parts and labor that was calculated as if they did not replace them with full quick assemblies, seems excessive. I contacted the shop asking which parts were used as the pricing reflected premium Monroe quick strut assemblies were used. No response. So I hit the road and and start my road trip. I make it two hours before I hear clunking noises. Again, I don't have time to wait for a non responsive business to let me know which shop I can go get inspected at. So I take it to an open shop and they advised my sway bars and links were compromised during the strut replacements. Amazing. So now I'm out another $600. The shop manager came out & apologized for the delay, but told us he didn't know anything about Uhaul all as the line continued to build. One customer left out of frustration. Perhaps the shop manager should take an afternoon to learn about a service his shop offers. Went around the corner to another Ubaul location & they had us taken care of in under 10 minutes. This is why I always make my mother put her calls on speaker because Steve's wife(Rochelle) and daughter, for whatever reason, have a habit of lying about things and have pretty consistently bullied my elderly mother for years. So apparently the daughter lied and said that my mother cussed her out, which she would never do, so when we got here this morning Steve told my mother you can't come here anymore instead of calling her and canceling it and having the guts to do that knowing she would be driving all the way in from Flagstaff. The behavior from his family is something documented on Reddit in several threads about mechanics around Phoenix, yelp, and other parts of the Internet so it's incredibly easy to verify this information and since his wife and daughter are now answering all of the complaints posts on yelp, I'm very curious to see how they respond to my very honest review. I also have that phone call recorded so I might post it on YouTube and link to it here to expose the obvious lying by Steve's daughter and i'm taking it to another mechanic to have them look at the work that was just done on it with the water pump and timing belt to make sure it was done correctly. In the short time that I posted this review, several people reached out expressing how many problems they had at A1 auto and recommended two mechanics in Apache Junction and Mesa and I've already spoken to both on the phone and not only are their mechanics knowledgeable, but their office staff is spectacular!! I consider this a good thing because now we have better places to get car repairs done! This community on Yelp really comes together to help people when it's needed.

I really appreciate their text message system that allows me to review what they're recommending now and in the future. I also really enjoy that you can opt right then and there to approve or deny a service. It also has prices estimates. At the end of the service the price estimates were the same as the charges (not sure if it would ever vary or if they would call before if it was to be more) I appreciate the pictures they take too! Pricing seems to be fair and comparable. The service was excellent. Very approachable and patient as I had questions and concerns since I'm not familiar with car stuff. It's easy enough to find, squeezed between the sonic and gas station. You could probably wander around and sit other places if you needed to wait for your car. I definitely plan to come back for my future care services and recommend!
