This business did nothing to repair my 2013 Ford 150, yet charged me $2,400. I am on a trip 4 hours from home, which the shop knew about and why I brought my truck in for service. My vehicle is now missing when it is started, and then the engine dies. How is that repaired and drivable ? How could a shop charge $2,400 and still tell a 71-year-old man that it is good to go? In November I went here for an oil change. They told me I needed a Thermostat Housing and coolant flush. Over $1100.00 in work. It is now January, and the thermostat housing has failed. I am not local to Mesa, so I can't take it back there for repair. I was really upset. However, after posting a note on their website I was contacted by Tim. Tim was very understanding and provided me with information on the warranty and how I could use it in California to get the repair work done. Very incompetent and dishonest ! Save your money, time, and peace of mind and go elsewhere. After spending almost $2k on repairs, the truck failed the very next day and in less than 15 miles of driving it. They claimed it had nothing to do with the repair they did to avoid honoring their "warranty". Not only that, but they also asked for additional money to do more unrelated repairs AND to cover the towing of the truck to their shop (after it overheated and stalled on the freeway the very next day). What's even worse, the repairs they did have caused the engine to extremely overheat and they are now refusing to repair it and holding my truck hostage. I made several attempts to resolve the issue and proposed 4 solutions, but they ignored my attempts. Instead, they kept threatening me that they would tow the truck out of the shop and report it abandoned, as I requested for them to get the truck back at the state I brought it or honor their warranty. Typical case of taking advantage of customers and lack of integrity. read more

Requested oil change and tire rotation on my 2006 Rav 4. Ended up with $1266.50 bill. This included $26.50 ea for spark plugs, $123.66 for 2 radiator hoses, $67.88 for coolant and when I checked it later, it was below the low level. I called the company and they told me they were special iridium spark plugs thats why they were so expensive and they didn't do the tire rotation because I need new tires. I researched some of the parts I was charged for and found them for considerably less, even for Toyota parts. Very disappointed and won't be going back. read more

Driving my sons to school one morning I stopped to get cash for their lunches at the ATM and my drivers side window got stuck in the down position. The motor crashed. I went to one repair shop and they couldn't get me in for a few days. It would not be safe to leave my vehicle open so I needed it fixed right away. I searched for someplace close by and came across Affordable Automotive Repair. I gave them a call and they said they could get me in right away. Tim was fantastic and friendly. Gave me a quote before the work was done. It was reasonable. My window works great now! However the reason for my top notch review is the customer service I received. I received a text message thanking me for my visit and that they appreciate my business. I received a follow up text a month or so later asking how my vehicle was running and to make sure everything was still good. This blew me away! I've never had a business follow up like that before. What a disgusting show of customer service and business ethics and responsibility! The unfortunate part of having to write this review is that I actually enjoyed the two gentleman that I had dealt with in the past. Extremely nice and VERY helpful... HOWEVER, when it came to dealing with money, true colors were exposed. After you get a $600 repair bill and drive away you expect your vehicle to work. 1 mile down the road it breaks down. Poor quality of work?!?! Perhaps. Most disappointing though is that they offered to "reimburse" for the tow back to the shop. But that promise was quickly dismissed when they "were not responsible" for a different part that magically broke literally 2 minutes after they "repaired" the vehicle. Can't say enough positive things about this place. They've looked at all 3 of my teens cars this month. One was ok and I wasn't charged for bringing it by - she just has an AC that isn't very cold. 2nd car did require some AC work an oil change and they found some brake issues. 3rd car required an entire new/used engine. They were able to locate another engine with only 20k miles on it and install. Didn't even take a week. They've been so incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I was leaving Arizona to drive to Illinois to live and explained to Tim I needed the car "checked" over and an oil change. Well, he convinced me to take a $350 "package " which he was selling to everyone who walked in the door that day which included alignment, oil change, cabin filters, etc. upon arriving in Illinois I had it checked again. There was no oil change. The cabin filters were installed backwards (which shredded the filters), other filters were not changed. WATCH OUT!!! I got scammed like a sucker here! Took my car in for a free A/C check because it was leaking freon. I filled it full of freon the night before and it all leaked out by morning. So I took it in and very detailed explained what I did. They told me they will do a free check and leak test and would be about 45min. So I got a ride & went home. 2 hours goes by and I called in to see what was going on. They said they didn't find any leaks and in order to do the check correctly they had to put freon in the car and charged me $140 bucks *First rip off right there because I never approved anything and told them it didn't have any in the car when I dropped it off!!!So I get the car and the owner says, if it leaks bring it back and we will continue the free check and not charge you the $140 (thinking ok they will reverse the charge) no! Of course it all leaked out by morning so I take it back. They check for leaks again and say they can't find any leaks it must be leaking from inside the car and quoted me **$2000** dollars to fix it!!!! Not even knowing where the leak was exactly!!! When I asked for my $140 to be charged back to my card the owner said no they would only deduct the $140 from the $2000 repair bill!!! BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!!! I even told the owner that I would write reviews and he could care less. Just kept saying I'm done talking to you when I tried expanding why I felt ripped off! read more

I brought my squealing Chevy Impala in late on a Friday... when they were already busy, and they had it done by that evening's close all fixed up with new brakes and rotors for a reasonable price. They have also fixed my broken A/C and leaks on multiple cars, and always had a good experience with them. People, I have used Affordable Automotive Repair almost since they first opened some four years ago or so. In the fall of 2013 I called Tim with an urgent issue (I can't even remember what it was now, to be honest!) and he brought me in that day to take care of it. That was my first time meeting him and I was so impressed I decided to switch shops that day. I have two high-mileage Toyota vehicles over 10 years old, and these guys were awesome and honest in everything they did to help me take care of them and keep them running. They always gave me the straight story, gave me options, and went the extra mile to provide solutions within my budget. Louis and his team were amazing. My 2004 Chevy Tahoe was having a jerking issue like it was having a seizure. I took it into them and they let me know I needed a new Water Pump, which I had been putting off having replaced due to cost, and their quote for that was cheaper then 3 other places I had been too. I also requested an oil change and a transmission service and let them know about the jerking issue. They took it for a test drive and my Tahoe died on them and they had to have it towed back. Originally they thought it was the fuel pump, but after checking they found it was the Catalytic Convertor sensor or whatever, which was an arm and a leg cheaper then getting a new fuel pump. This is my new go to auto shop, I like many people worry about being violated when going to see a mechanic, you won't be bent over a barrel here. I decided to go here based on the great reviews. I usually use the dealership for all my repairs, but this issue seemed a little fishy. Basically, the radiator was leaking coolant into the transmission. The dealership told me that both the radiator and tranny needed to be replaced and was looking at about $5500. I asked if the trans was damaged and if it could be flushed and they said there wasn't a way to tell and that to be sure would be to replace the whole thing. Decided to get a second opinion. After Louis looked into the issue he told me that just the radiator needed to be replaced and that after flushing the trans it seemed to be ok. After a whole day of working on replacing the part, they wanted to keep it another day to be sure all was working. I got a call back saying that the transmission is damaged and needed to be replaced. With the cost of the radiator it would have been more than the dealer in the first place. But hey got a new radiator for 1k and a silly offer to buy my Pathfinder for 1k. I found the company to be fast, reliable, HONEST, and affordable. After being told by a previous auto care provider that my Xterra needed rear brakes asap, I was drawn to Affordable Auto Care because of their great prices. After leaving the Xterra with them I received a call before I even made it home. They notified me that my rear brakes had lots of life left to them, and that we did not need to do the rear brakes.
