I e been going here for service for a few years to get regular oil change and tires rotated. Every time I go in, they always find other things wrong with the vehicle. Last summer, they informed me my shocks were bad and needed replaced. No problem. They had my car for THREE WEEKS! They did get me a rental in the meantime, however. I recently took the car back in for a whining noise and they couldn't find it. I took it elsewhere and they found the noise immediately. Along with a bunch of other things wrong with the car including THE SHOCKS (replaced last July). Estimated cost to repair was going to be over $6,000 from this other place. Hyundai would have charged me twice the amount! I called Horne Hyundai about the shocks and they said they had a 1 yr/10,000 warranty. I had 10,200 miles on the shocks and they wouldnt honor replacing them. Most places are 2-5 year warranty or 25,000 -50,000. Needless to say, I traded my car in elsewhere and got a new car. Other places I have talked to said do EVER go there again as they have had numerous complaints about their "maintenance" department and lack of good mechanics. read more

I took my 2018 Santa Fe Sport with 49335 miles on to get a leak looked at and repaired. First I had an appointment and waited 30 minutes for the service . They had my car for 4 hours while I waited and found I needed a valve cover gasket. They also did an all point inspection. My total quote for everything they listed besides the gasket , fuel induction service, 4 wheel alignment, remove and replace brake fluid, remove and replace coolant and remove and replace all 4 cylinder spark plugs and that quote was over $2,300. I had them replace the valve gasket to fix the leak and make my car not smell leak burning oil, plus the all point inspection which all came back checked and ok now was $888.18! I drove home and parked it. When I drove it the following Monday it still smelled like burning oil, my window washer fluid was squirting from the passengers side of the hood, nothing on my windshield, my coolant is just above the low mark and my right rear air tire cap is nowhere to be found! While looking under my hood I noticed I have 2 Slashes and a hole in the black hose leading to my windshield washer, nothing cracked from heat, looks less legalizes and a gouge from a sharp tool. I was offered a car wash with my service which I didn't get after 4 hours and almost 1,000 dollars in alleged service. I am a single women in my 70s and I drive from Gilbert because my local dealership can never get me in. I know a large amount of single gals that I would share my praises to but I am not happy with this service nor the fact that you took advantage of a senior women who lives beacon a tight budget. I won't be returning with my business! I was always a Toyota lady but wanted to try this SUV which has cost me over $7,000 in repairs and none of it covered by warranty. Stay away from this dealership, they will rip you off and leave your car with more damage to have repaired! Also I will let my friends know to steer clear of this dealership. My wifes car recently had the dreaded rod bearing failure on her 2014 sonata. Luckily we purchased the extended warranty and Hyundai replaced the motor. When the car first arrived we were hit with a 10k estimate for "required" maintenance. Everything from transmission service to windshield wipers. Very nice people, but they get you in here for a safety recall, about an hour I'm told. Well then, I needed an alignment, no problem won't increase the time. So another hour later, there's 2 recalls, and my 5 point service check is up to over 4k do I want to get that done. No, not at this time, I need to get home. Worst dealership I have ever used! Made appointment for recall, I was told service would take less than 15 minutes. Approve arrive at 9:00 am, that estimate changed to 1 hour and 45 minutes minimum!!! This has happen several time at this dealership. Next closest is over hour away. read more

Disappointing. Made a service appointment online. A week in advance to insure parts and time were accounted for. Oil change with filter and spark plugs. Had a coupon for service $20 off for spending a specified amount. I arrived early for my 10am appointment. Emily came to tell me that they did not have the spark plugs in stock but were almost finished with the oil change. Asked why they were out when I made an appointment, response was, other cars before mine needed them also. Must be too complicated to control inventory when you have appointments that have specific parts. Anyways, I was told to make another appointment for the plugs and I would receive a small discount. Paid for the oil change without any discount. Next apppointment, got in and done in less an hour. Time to pay. Emily applied two discounts of $10 each as a favor because the system wouldn't allow for the $20 which I would have received in the first place. I asked if she was going to give me a discount for the inconvenience, she responded what do I want to make it right. Maybe something to show that you're a little apologetic and not that I as the customer have to ask for it. You told me after the first visit you would. After punching in a bunch of keys on the keyboard, I was given an additional $5 off. Thank you. BTW, they charge you for shop supplies. Probably because of Covid so they can continue to give out coupons. The charge is $2.49 or 10% of labor which ever is greater. I tried to with this dealership but I can't!!! Firstly they ordered a part that part for a recall for my 2023 Palisade, they called me and told me the part (something for windshield wipers) was in and scheduled me an appointment. I went in and they told me they ordered the recall part and would notify me when it was in! Wait what???? That's why I'm here, "oh sorry for the mix up". Finally they got the part and got it taken care of. Well today we're driving down the road and sunroof literally exploded! It's a sunny AZ day on a surface street. Apparently it's a known issue for 2022 and it was fixed but maybe not. This service advisor tells me that it was probably pitted from small rocks and the extreme heat(ARIZONA) caused it to shatter! WTF??? This isn't an old AZ vehicle that's weathered, it's not even a year old! The issue has clearly not been resolved in 2023. Went there for warranty service, which was done quickly and properly, no complaints there. Last weekend I replaced the cabin air filter and engine air filter myself. In their diagnostic report that they give after doing their overall check of the car, it states that both the engine air filter and cabin air filter are in the severe (red) zone and need to be replaced. Also, transmission and fuel injection services are needed, this was done at another Hyundai dealer less than a year ago, maybe it's not in the computer? Overall good service if you know your car well, but saying the filters that I just replaced were extremely in need of replacement and putting that in the quote makes me question the integrity of the shop. read more

Original date: Dec 06, 2021 Took my car in for service. The car was purchased new from the dealership under 1 year before. During the service, one of the dealership employees crashed my car into another one causing damage to the rear section. They were "too busy" to take the car into their body shop until Jan of 2022. They scheduled an appointment for me to bring the car into Horne Hyundai on Jan 3, 2022, and they would provide a loaner of equivalent class as my SUV. I arrived on Jan 3 and they said they had no SUVs available and sent me to a rental car place, which they wanted to charge me for a deposit and hold on my charge card, which I declined to participate in. I was returned to the Dealership and the Service Director/Manager Matt promised to call me when the first available loaner vehicle was returned. From Jan 3 til the middle of March, I was not contacted, at all, by Horne Hyundai. I was finally able to speak with Matt during the week of 14 March 2022, over 3 months after they damaged my car. He assured me that there would be a loaner available during the next week, and he would call me either way. He did not! I called several times during the week of the 21st of March to express my frustration and Horne Hyundai's lack of Customer Service. At that time, I was again assured of a vehicle within the next week. On March 29, I received a voicemail stating exactly "We just received a Palisade in and it is going to be held for you to pick up the next day". He stated he would not be available but "service writer" Michael would take care of delivering the Palisade loaner to me. Today, March 30th, I arrived to pick up the loaner and drop off my Sante Fe Limited, and Michael brings out a base model Santa Fe. He then states the Palisade was not returned. So, I played him the voicemail from Manager Matt which clearly stated the car was there and available and stated that you or Matt are liars and I'm done with the dealership! Fix my car! read more

My car has been in the shop since April of 22! I have spent thousands of dollars in rental car fees and just got laid off and cannot afford rentals anymore so now I am stranded! There is no loaner available because its a part issue and not a warranty issue. Unbelievable, the customer service leaves much to be desired and the service tech was downright rude to me! I thought I would get some help from the GM but he just passed the buck back on Hyundai which is the company that tells me "no ETA" on my part. I purchased a new 2022 Hyundai Kona in June 2021. My car had an engine failure due to a lost drain plug. I spoke with Matt Konececk, service manager for Horne Hyundai. He told me that if I would have my car towed to Horne Hyundai, he would take care of it. I paid to have my car towed to Horne Hyundai. Horne Hyundai, an authorized Hyundai service provider has performed every service on my car. Horne Hyundai has had my car for over three weeks. Matt Konececk has NOT provided any reimbursement or payment for my rental car. He has NOT provided me with a free loaner car. He has NOT accepted responsibility for the engine replacement and/or repairs necessary to return my car back to its original condition. Apparently the drain plug fell out just because... Very shady. I purchased a car on a Saturday and within a couple hours the car reeked of cigarettes, as if they had sprayed the car with just enough air freshener to get me off of the lot. I called on Monday but apparently no one was available to help me so they took a message. Finally Thursday rolls around and I get a phone call and the person just says "Dani?" I was like "uh who is this?" Apparently it was Deion who sold me the car called me asking if my car is amazing so far. I brought up the fact that no one had called me back about the smoke smell and he had no idea so he said he would look into it. About 4 hours later I decided to call again since I hadn't gotten an update and he was like "oh no one called you? Let me check in with them." I told him that I needed a response within the hour because I was trying to resolve it that day as it had already been a few days. I got a call back a few mins later that they were going to outsource someone to do something about the smoke. The soonest they could come was today (Tuesday) which was kinda frustrating but I sucked it up. The guy that came was very nice. Well on Sunday Deion emailed me telling me a satisfaction survey would be coming through and if I had any questions. I responded right away asking about when the last oil change was done on the car and how the included free oil changes worked as they were mentioned during the sale. He called today (Tuesday) in response to my email saying that he didn't know when the last oil change had been done but "probably come in in like 3 months." I asked about the included oil changes and he said he would have to look into it and call me back... about an hour later I was texted by him stating that due to my car being a used car, I didn't get any free oil changes. This was the only car I looked at on the lot. I didn't even glance at another car the whole time i was there. The fact that the free oil changes were brought up when I was as looking at this car as a selling point and then you're going to tell me that they're not included "because it's used" is a clear act of deception which is the second strike for me. I hate writing reviews, I really do. I work in customer service so I am typically really understanding when things don't work out as planned but this just feels really shady and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. My sister has purchased cars from other dealerships and has had great experiences but as a first time car buyer myself, I am very disappointed and frustrated with this dealership and their deceptive techniques and lack of professionalism. read more

My husband had an appointment for a prepaid oil change and took his car in at 7am on a Monday morning. We had recently purchased the car and made the appointment through the Hyundai app. They arranged to shuttle My husband to work, but when he called later in the morning, it was apparent they hadn't even touched his car yet and he was told that he should have made an appointment if he wanted his car quicker. He reminded them that he did have an appointment and after more than three hours, his car was finally done and he arranged to go pick it up. Accidentally washed smart key fob for 2016 Elantra GT. COMPLETELY my fault. Ordered a replacement for $397, which took a week to arrive. Upon arrival, was told there was an ADDITIONAL $89 charge to program the fob. WTF? $397 did not include programming? And why was I not informed of this charge when I initially ordered the fob? Because why would someone order a non-programmed fob? That makes no sense. Got money back for fob. If I am going to pay $500 for fob AND programming, I am going to give my money to a different dealership who knows what they are doing. I scheduled a 30,000 mile service for the cost of $114.95 when I arrived for the service they stated it would be $224.00. I was told the service manager had meant to update the website, but he hadn't had time. Seemed like a bait and switch to me. I bought the car here so have been getting service here since I bought it in 2018. However, I probably should have rethought this a long time ago. One reason is because even since my very first service at 3000 miles they told me I needed new tires. I ignored them telling me this. Seemed dumb a brand new car would need new tires. Obviously they didn't know what they were talking about. I now have 35000 miles on the car with the same tires. Duh! Also one time they didn't tighten stuff and the oil leaked out in my garage leaving a huge stain on my garage floor and me having to return to have the issue fixed. Well... i hate to do this as I never yelp.... Dishonesty, I mean the service before we did everything they mentioned which probably really did not need to be done besides the oil change, and tires. Also, the tires did not need to be done until I got a flat after they did the oil change and inflated the tires a little too much... So, this time around for the oil change we get checked in. Battery not in good shape that's fine. we replace that, but while getting the oil change..... This is where the dishonesty comes... brakes are at 3 percent on the front and the back. Would not recommend driving far and getting them replaced asap.. Usually I hear a squeaking and that's usually at 5 percent when it gives me a warning. That's when I take it in ASAP and get the job done. Since I get my servicing done there all the time why would they say 3 percent if they looked at the history of the car we always go back and get service done there. Well, I had to get a 2nd opinion on this. The front 20, the backs had 25 percent of brake left... it did not need immediate attention like they said, but if they were honest in saying like maybe in a couple of months your brakes need attention and they are currently at the real percentage of 20 and 25 percent would of been a little better and more honest. I just feel like now I might be getting swindled for cash as they were my go to for servicing my car. I think it might be time to look elsewhere... ‍ read more

One of the side roof rails on my 2019 Hyundai Tucson came loose after going through a local car wash, so I took it back to the dealer and was told by the service manager that it wouldn't be covered.Under 5000 miles .So, I took it to Walt's Body shop in Apache Junction to have them take a look and fix it. Upon further examination, it had never been bolted down at the factory. 4 washers and 15 minutes and it was done. It's mind boggling that the service manager wouldn't take the time to find out why it came loose. I bought a new car from this dealership in December 2016. I brought the car in today, August 28, 2020, to have them look at the shocks and the rear view mirror. They then started to tell me that the front windshield was not original. They asked if we've ever replaced it. We told them its never been replaced. The service guy then said, "how do I know that you didn't have the front winshield replaced and the vtr etched into the winshield? I'm very upset that #1 we were sold a brand new car with a windshield that hyundai didn't put in. And #2 I'm upset with how we were dealt with, basically calling us liars. I will NEVER buy a freaking car from these incompetent people again!! Come to find out, The people that originally sold us the new car dont work there anymore, all management has been replaced, due to questionable ethics. I will never go back to Horne Hyundai. Another EXCELLENT experience with great customer service!!! Michael Saenz is one if the best service technicians I deal with. Very polite and professional, takes great care of us and our vehicles. Had some rather intense air conditioning work done about 3 weeks ago. Things were working great until last Saturday when they weren't :-( but Horne Hyundai was very quick to have me bring the vehicle back in and they honored their warranty with smiles:) as long as they have people like Michael and the crew working there we will be loyal customers for years to come. read more

About a month ago I brought my 2002 Hyundai Sonata in to Horne Hyundai for them to do a 5K Service for $39.95 because I had a coupon I received in the mail. Before going to Horne Hyundai I had placed two black marker dots on my rear tires because I had read some reviews about Horne Hyundai not doing as they said for rotating tires and I was in disbelief of that. The coupon stated Oil Change and Tire Rotation within 45 minutes or it's free and I was sure to point that out in the beginning and the guy working in service told me, "That's just for an oil change" but I had read all the fine print and it wasn't just for an oil change... When doing the walk-around on my car I had pointed out some things I would like to get quoted on to be replaced (some trim inside the car) and I would like to know the prices of repair. I also made it very clear I needed to get my tires rotated because I was about to go on vacation driving 3k+ miles. -- The waiting area -- It was alright. The chairs were pretty comfortable and they provided complimentary water. The TV was set to GMA News and it was acceptable but the angle was very awkward to watch it at. 45 minutes in: No one had approached me at anytime to say they're still working on my car or anything of the sort. I was getting pretty anxious at this point... 90 minutes in: I didn't expect to wait 90 freaking minutes for an oil change and tire rotation and I was pretty pissed off at this point. At the end of waiting a man from the sales department dressed in a nice business suit approached me and told me everything was done, hurray! --He also gave me it for free--, so why is this only a two star rating? - The tires weren't rotated! - Greasy/oily handprints all over my cars exterior - No quotes on getting my damaged interior trim replaced - Customer service was terrible (until the very end when the businessman stepped in and was very polite) - They gave me a real hard time about the coupon which clearly stated 45 minutes or it's free - It took 90 minutes total for an oil change essentially read more

They are always up-selling my wife things that are totally unnecessary by scaring her half to death that something ominous will happen if she doesn't buy this EXPENSIVE service item. IMHO, car dealers are right down there with Lawyers & Dentist. Horne Hyundai could change all that but alas, it would seem that the service representatives are on some kind of commission structure and $600 is the goal management wants to get from every non-warranty service appointment. You get a very reasonable oil change - tire rotation and inspection coupon via email. The inspection will remarkably turn up a collection of service issues that just happen to cost somewhere around $625 - $725. The fluids inspection is a really good idea, but they should explain the process and ask the car owner to watch as they check the fluids. So far they haven't given me any feedback about how long the service is going to take, so you wait and wait and wait. No status reports, no updates and no way to change the TV channel or turn the volume down. I have suggested twice that since they have a TV, I wish they would give me a channel I could switch to and see the work being done on my car. That will never happen I guess because you might be able to see that there must be long periods of time that nothing is being done on your car. Why else would it take 3 hours to do an oil change and tire rotation? You should always ask to see YOUR old parts (especially cabin filters, fuses and such...), watch any inspections that they will let you watch and go on test drives to explain how or when that noise, shimmy or what ever shows up. Tires are now rotated front to rear so you should black magic marker your front tires with a "F" to make sure they are rotated correctly. You would think that a $600 - $700 service charge would automatically be worth a free car wash. Although it was getting close to closing time, for the first time today I was offered a free car wash. Have a feeling that the service rep knew I was more that ready to get out of there, but the offer was appreciated Will I go back? Yes, but I will be more watchful, ask more questions and be much more willing to get a second or even 3rd service quote.. read more

I have to give the guys at Horne Hyundai five stars for customer service. First, let me say that I made a mistake and picked up the wrong Horne dealer and wrote them with a complaint. Twice I had taken my Kia, which we are leasing from Horne Kia in for service and twice I had asked for a valve stem cover to be replaced. TWICE I was ignored. One guy said that they would not have silver as it came from the factory. I said I don't care if it is purple, please put one on. Unfortunately, we drove all the way back from Gilbert to Maricopa before I thought to check, and then I found that it was still missing. On Saturday I wrote the Horne Hyundai service department, by mistake, and within minutes I had a call from their service department. I explained that I had made a mistake and had written a second time to apologize. The guy said he would send me a valve stem cover which I said was unnecessary because it was not their problem. Then I got an email apologizing for their poor service and finally a third email saying a full set of valve stem covers was being shipped and I should have them by Tuesday. WOW and double WOW. Horne Kia should take note. They not only sent them and I received them yesterday. They sent them overnight FedEx! It is such a little thing, but it was important to me and they responded even though it was not their problem. Thank you kind sirs. :) read more

Michael in the service department is my hero! I bought my car here over a year ago and I refuse to take it anywhere else to have it serviced. They take such good care of me and my vehicle and have helped me so much! especially in an emergency they get me right in and solve the problem as quick as possible. We had a piece of rubber(?) hanging down from the front of our wheel well. It rubbed against the tire. This was clearing a defect on our 2015 Sonata, and should. have been covered under our "extended bumper to bumper" warranty. Instead they charged us over #200. We brought it to Hyundai since we thought it was under warranty. When my friend Dave, who owns a auto repair shop heard about the $200, he got a good laugh. read more

I bought a used car from this location. After driving it off the lot and taking it to its first carwash I noticed a piece of my bumper was coming off. I looked closer and it looks like scotch tape was hold it together. I then noticed that my breaks were sweaking to the point of being embarrassed to stop. I called and Eric took care of me in the service department. They had my car for a whole day and fixed my breaks and had to fix the bumper that was falling down that was making the piece on the bumper pop out. The day I left it kept popping out and my brakes started sqeaking again. I called spoke with Eric and he told me to bring the car back so he can look at it. To keep my bumper piece from popping out and breaking off they tapped it from the inside as if that was any better than the scotch tape. He also told me that they have already fixed my breaks once and they werent going to spend anymore money on the car. When I was going through financing the guy told me that I have a warranty with my fabric in my car and if there was a stain that could not come out they would replace it. Well after having the car for a couple of weeks all of the stains from the previous owner showed and it is a lot. I brought that up to Eric and he acted like he didnt know what I was talking about. I called twice to speak with a manager and no one ever got back with me. I reached out to my sales guy Ronnie and he said he would have a manager get in touch with me.... And still no one has called. Somehow my post from 5/30/2015 got deleted so let me repost it but now with 1 star. Went to Horne for the first time today. The people who helped me were very nice so why the two star rating?! Because they charged an arm and a leg for radiator hoses! I don't mind them making money by performing a service on my vehicle. They deserve and are entitled to that but why overcharge me for radiator hoses?! When I spoke with the gentleman on the phone he said the hoses were about $40 each. Now I've done a little car work in my day so I said "$40?!" He said "well yeah prices have gone up." Sure, I can believe that prices have increased but not by 100-300%!!!! Instead of having them replace 3 hoses I did just 2 that were badly needed. I don't have time to say no and shop around for another mechanic. Anyways, I got home and searched Autozone.com for the hoses I needed and both were under $20! That just really irritates me. Don't charge me more for parts that I can buy at a local Autozone especially when their parts are discounted to them. (big buyers receive discounts from auto shops) In summary, upper radiator hose $12.99 as I am typing this on Autzone.com plus you get 20% and $10 gift card for buying parts online and shipping them to home if over $100. Upper radiator hose at Horne: ~$45.00!!! Bypass hose from Autozone.com $15.99. Bypass hose from Horne: ~$35.00!!! There was also an additional ~$12.00 of shop supply charges which I can't imagine what that could be with radiator hose changes, an oil change and an air filter change. They did clean the exterior free of charge which did look very nice. Anyways, disappointed. Would have liked to gone there regularly but am not planning on it now. Again, the price DOESN'T include labor. It wasn't $45.00 for the upper hose plus labor but for the hose only. Make money off of labor...not parts that anyone can buy locally. If people say that this is normal procedure... San Tan Hyundai charged me the proper price two years ago for the same hose. I would go to them but their service is horrible. Have spent hundreds of dollars at this dealership for repairs. Recent issue is my alarm goes off if I use my key fob to unlock my vehicle. Was told 2 of my actuators were bad and had to be replaced for almost $600. Just spent $800 on a new fuel pump so this was not an option. Asked if they could disable or pull out the alarm. Was told absolutely not - it was part of the structure of the vehicle when they built it. I was doubtful of this answer and took it to a reputable independent auto repair shop - Guess what??? They told me I had an after market alarm and it would cost $50 to disable it!!! Either I was totally lied to or their auto techs need some major additional training! Either way I will not use them again except for recalls where I am required to go to a dealership. VERY DISAPPOINTED!! read more

Horne Hyundai has always been friendly when I've come in for minor adjustments. So even though I moved only 1 mile away from San Tan Hyundai, I still went to Horne and am glad I did. My AC went out (not good for AZ) and upon calling around, I was told that a diagnostic would cost me $120. If it was covered under warranty, I'd get the money back. If not, it would go toward the repair. I called Horne and Mike said not to worry, he would do the diagnostic for free and depending on what he found, would go from there. I got there and he started working on it immediately After about an hour, came back to say "Great news! It's covered under warranty and we have the part in stock. If you can wait another hour, we'll get it in for you". They got it fixed, washed my car and had it back sooner than I expected. I plan to use Horne from now on. read more
