I don't need to go to AutoZone very often (fortunately), but they're close and they have what I need when I do go. Recently the AutoZone battery in one of our vehicles need replaced and so I removed it and took it in. I was in and out in about 5 minutes and it didn't cost me anything, since the old 2-year old battery was still under warranty. The clerk was polite, helpful and took care of me in no time. Went to drop off an old car battery and auto zone specifically has 10$ in-store credit for dropping off old batteries. Guy behind the counter lied to me and told me it doesn't exist so he wouldn't have to issue a card. I came and set it down and the guy just stared at me and I politely asked for the in-store credit and he told me there was none and autozone has never had that program. The guy tricked me and then gaslit me into believing that I was crazy for even asking. read more

The store itself was well stocked and clean inside. The reason for the two stars is that the people working here made me feel extremely uncomfortable in the store. Walk in and all the guys working here are standing around chit chatting amongst themselves using extremely foul language. I was with someone else when I was inside the store and once we found what we were looking for, I left and waited in the car until they purchased our products. I'm a young mechanic myself in the field but whenever I come into here she acts as if I'm dumb... only one to have problems with the several times I've been in. Should check your attitude Ms. Most recent incident. Went In and told her that I had a bad battery but still under warranty of three years. Told me that she would charge you for an hour and that should solve it.( Already told her battery was bad)Came back and told me battery was bad as what I" I told her in the first place. And then proceeds to ask other employees and follows up with, "Nope, none of my guys say they will do it." Wow, the CEO of this company would be proud. Keep up the lazy work. I stood in line for almost 10 min while the guy kept answering the phone 4 different times and looking up items and giving a price. Meanwhile I'm standing there trying to spend actual money. I gave up and left without purchasing my items and went right next door to Ace. My teenage daughter stopped in to purchase windshield wipers for her midsize car. They charged her over $25! She didn't know any better and thought that was what they typically cost. I've checked elsewhere and found the cost is usually half what they charged her. This poor kid has to work for over two hours to pay for those wipers. Stopped in five minutes before closing with a dead battery and both the manager and associate (Andrew) did not hesitate to help. After testing the battery and discovering the cell was bad, they still offered to replace the battery at that time, even though it was after hours. I've had a hard time trusting and finding a car dealer/garage, since moving to AZ in '12, that I can trust and not feel like I'm being taken advantage of. I wanted to get a new battery installed in my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, dealer nearby quoted me $300 installed. I did my searching and found most batteries cost about $200, retail. I thought the $100 install fee was rather high after I watched a Youtube video on replacement. The battery is under the passenger seat, so it's not like replacing one under the hood. The AutoZone staff sold me a charged battery and installed it themselves in about 15 minutes! FREE! I bought some filters(engine & cabin) for my Jeep and my wife's CR-V, they had 3 of 4 in stock and ordered the other, they called less than 48 hours later saying it was in. This is definitely going to be my "GO TO" place to buy parts and accessories! read more

So yesterday I went to get a brand new battery for my Chevy Cruze. I was in desperate need of help. I came at 7:30pm, they closed at 9pm. He told me he couldn't replace the battery because I had a "fuse box" on top of my battery and they couldn't do it for "liability"reasons. I waited until Walmart auto center opened this morning and they were able to install the battery with no issue. He opened the hood and said no fuse box was on top of my car and that they just didn't want to do it out of laziness. I missed work today to get my car battery installed. I take it very personal when money is being lost out of laziness. I'm very angry and hurt that they'd try to get over on a young girl who is ignorant to how cars work. If you're a female with not much knowledge on cars, please go with a male or someone who knows cars! read more
