Hook & Plow at the Marriott Waterfront
    Karen V.

It was a great breakfast! It's the hotel restaurant inside the Seattle Marriott Waterfront. We thought about ordering from the set menu, but decided that the buffet breakfast would be the better value. It was a good decision. They had just about everything for even the pickiest eater. My favorite items were the fried home potatoes and crispy thick-cut bacon. We were both impressed with the crispy and tasty potatoes. My husband had to get a second helping. The pastries were also very good, as well as the coffee. The service was great. Our cups were never empty. The coffee was topped off when needed. They checked on us often. I wouldn't hesitate to go back if ever in the area again.

I was invited to a private event at the Hook & Plow (inside the Seattle Marriott hotel), and enjoyed their delicious catering, attentive waitstaff, and open bar. We were served a buffet style spread of 2 different salads, smoked salmon and capers, cocktail shrimp, lobster bisque, roasted vegetables, prime rib, and baked salmon. There was also a bread basket, coffee and tea stand, and assorted mini dessert trays at the end of the meal. The venue was medium sized with indoor and outdoor seating, and I could imagine using this space for a variety of private events as well as a regular restaurant. I believe they serve their hotel breakfast here in the morning. One star off because parking was expensive ($60 valet only) and the bartender gave grouchy vibes when you asked for a mixed drink. If you can walk a little further to use one of the many public garages around, or look for street parking, it's a better deal.

I went about 915 on a Sunday morning and the line moved pretty slowly. I just ordered a side biscuit and gravy and it was good. My water never got refilled while I was there though.

We walked in on a Friday for breakfast. Service was great and the food was fantastic! Good portions and really fresh fruit.

Our server Hank was amazing. We were not expecting high end coffee and such amazing food in a hotel restaurant. His recommendations were stellar.

This is the restaurant inside the Marriott hotel. It's...ok. It's perfectly just a-ok. We dined here for breakfast. Don't expect to just walk in. We had to put our name on the list and wait about 30 mins. No biggie, but just plan for that. Our server was...busy. Definitely seemed understaffed. It's a bit on the pricey side for what you actually get. But that said, my breakfast burrito was quite sizable and tasty. It's a hotel restaurant. Keep your expectations in check and dine because it's convenient.

We were staying at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront hotel and received a voucher for breakfast on Sunday morning. We arrived around 8:15am and were greeted and seated by very polite servers. I ordered the fried egg sandwich, however, I don't like hard fried easy over eggs so I asked for scrambled eggs on the sandwich instead and they were able to oblige. My partner got the All American breakfast with over easy eggs. Both meals were absolutely excellent and cooked to perfection. The country potatoes are huge so you have to cut those down to eat them, but overall both were really great meals. I'd return to eat here again.

The food at this restaurant is good. I'm not sure that there is adequate help as our server seem d very stressed. I had the fresh pasta with salmon. The past and salmon were good. My wife had pizza which she enjoyed and everyone at our table seem d satisfied with there meal. Overall, if you're staying at the Marriott, the food is good and you can avoid walking uphill.

This restaurant happens to be the resident restaurant on the Marriott Waterfront campus. I had the Florentine Eggs Benedict and two guests had the Corned beef hash. My eggs Benedict was buttery and delicious and the small potato spuds were deep fried with a wonderful crunch on the outside. The corned beef hash is had real corned beef chunks and the guests that ate it raved.

The food here tastes great. I tasted two different types of omelets and both were really good. The ambiance is basically an upscale hotel restaurant. Our service was great and our server John, made sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely eat here again! You can also order takeout or have it delivered.

They served the coffees with a little shortbread cookie, and these little details really elevated the whole experience. Also, the cappuccino was so foamy, and it hit the spot immediately. The breakfast menu was also fantastic. The TPC Breakfast plate included sausage, potatoes, bacon, bread, and some scrambled eggs. There also was an option to add Beecher's cheese on the eggs, and I'd say it was totally worth it. Most importantly, the Dutch baby was as good as they'd advertised. It comes out on a piping hot skillet which kept the dessert warm till the end of the meal. The service was very quick even though they were entirely booked out for the time we were there for. I appreciated the patience from the servers and their helpful directions in picking the menu items. I will warn you that we had to reserve our spot months in advance. This is probably because the restaurant is great but pretty limited in seating space. However, it was definitely worth the wait, so don't be discouraged. I highly recommend trying it out at least once. All in all, highly recommend! Please go try Tilikum Place Cafe!

The baked eggs, however, were just okay - nothing particularly good. The ambiance was cozy and nice, right in downtown Seattle. However, be prepared: the wait can be long, and once you're done, they'll need the table, as there's usually a line. Overall, it's worth a visit - just make a reservation and come for the Dutch babies. I was told there are seasonal Dutch babies so try again sometime in June maybe. Fairly cozy restaurant with a back portion for events or more seating during busier meals. We tried the following - Karaage wings - quite umami, a hint of curry and spices, does not really look like chicken wings - Blasted broccoli - delicious with the lemon aioli on the side. A little overcooked but a nice take on the broccolini that is usually prepared in this manner - Duck breast - I liked the meat itself - very flavorful, but I didn't like the reduction and the sage leaves did not add much flavor - Pork belly - very hearty. The chimichurri kind of clashes with the flavor a bit but cuts down the heavy fat. Potato texture was a bit interesting - Sumac hummus and cucumbers - a healthy option off happy hour. Nice that it was served with flatbread - Cracked olive salad - a bit pickly, I personally do not like olives in this manner but my friend enjoyed it - Citrus Paradisi - quite a strong cocktail, but not quite well-balanced. For $13, it was satisfactory for alcohol strength, but quality could be improved Service is decent as food was brought in a timely manner and we did not need to wait long to get the bill, etc.

Wow, this review is 8 years old! I want to share my experience with Some Random Bar…read more In 2017, my mom and I visited Seattle for me to look at apartments and interview for jobs. We came here to eat because it was near our hotel. I was OBSESSED with the crab nachos. 2 months later, I moved out here all on my own. Now, 8 years later, I live nearby. Whenever someone is visiting, we come here. Whenever I run into a stranger visiting, i say they have to come here. My friends know if i'm celebrating anything, "are you getting crab nachos?!" It's become a part of my personality at this point. I have so much respect for the owners, the way they run their business and their honesty online. No one I've brought here has had a bad thing to say regardless of what they ordered. My go to is: Pull apart bread, crab nachos (with their hot sauce!! which, btw can i buy that by the bottle.. cause YUM) + whatever drink is calling my name (they rotate, but if you can get the pina colada you won't regret it). tldr; you'll regret NOT coming here.

I underestimated the attractiveness of Happy Hour where many drinks are $1 to $3 off. The place was full and became even fuller (and louder) by the end of our meal. This bar is hopping with many regulars, alcohol-filled, with multiple screens televising sports. When we went in October, the food menu says the food is discounted 25% off during certain late hours. The current online menu doesn't say that anymore. Not sure if that deal is still available. Our server was easygoing. Note they charge 3% for credit card use. The Food: SRB Burger, $22 - 3 Stars Menu: Painted Hills beef, burrata mozzarella, basil aioli, arugula, pickled onions, hand cut fries Per the menu description, this burger sounded great. Unfortunately for hubby, this burger has the exact pet peeve that he dislikes the most - where the patty is small and tall (he calls it ball shape) compared to the bun. The patty diameter is significantly smaller than the bun. He literally hates that. I had to tilt the camera much lower to see the patty inside. On the plus side, the fries are great. Grilled Shrimp Club, $24 - 3.5 Stars Menu: bacon, lettuce, tomato, house made guacamole, roasted chipotle aioli, hand cut fries This club sandwich is very good except for the one thing that the menu didn't specify - the bun. They use ciabatta bread, which I find doughy, thick, and overwhelms a sandwich. That is my pet peeve for a sandwich. Neither of us is betting well on this night. They are probably more of a 3.5 Stars overall. We find their prices to be high, especially since they additionally charge a credit card fee. When we went, the cost was $21, $23 respectively. The prices are now $22 and $24 per online menu. I would not return for food only. I would return for a bar vibe.

It was a simple process to make a reservation on their website, and I was even able to make a note that I was celebrating my birthday. Aerlume is right next to Pike's Place, so finding parking may be a challenge but don't let that discourage you from trying it out. Service was amazing and the food was really good too. While waiting for my appetizer, the chef brought me a steak sashimi amuse bouche that was absolutely delicious!! My mouth is watering thinking about it. I kept it light with the citrus marinated beets as my appetizer. Although I don't usually eat beets, I thought this dish was so good! For my main course, I got the C.A.B. filet mignon. The steak was cooked perfectly and everything tasted so good together. I was amazed by the how thick the asparagus was! I did inhale my food quite fast so I passed on dessert in favor of hot tea, but their dessert selection also sounded yum. I regret not getting the carrot cake. I had a great experience dining here and would love to eat outside in the future! Also, if you're wondering, I don't believe there's a dress code. I came for Seattle…read moreRestaurant Week, and had the coconut congee soup, the pork shank with tropical fruit chutney and brussels sprouts, and the dessert duo. The congee was a perfect thickness, with flavors you don't usually have in congee...but it works! It's a nice and light way to start the meal. It's a shame that you don't see pork shank on more restaurant menus, because it is a criminally underrated cut of meat. The shank at Aerlume falls completely off the bone with just a nudge of your fork. The rich savory flavor of the meat is perfectly complemented by the sauce and the chutney, which brightens it all up and keeps it from becoming overly heavy in your mouth and stomach. Brussels on the side are your standard incredibly crispy sprouts. We also ordered the bread and butter off the a la carte menu, just to try. The breads are excellent, and you can definitely taste the ube in the ube butter, but in my opinion this is one of those cases where adding ube just isn't necessary. They did forget about our bread, so this didn't show up for us until we asked about it most of the way through our meal. The dessert duo is made up of a square of carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and a chocolate crunch bar -- devastatingly smooth chocolate mousse on top of a thin crunchy wafer with raspberry sauce on the side. I appreciated the variety of flavors and textures. It was the perfect way to round out the meal. We had an excellent meal, accompanied by great service. It would be a perfect spot for a celebratory dinner, or to take parents to when they visit town.
