I walked over to this spot on a rainy Thursday night while visiting from California. I was a little skeptical because of the mixed reviews, but I was hungry and figured I'd give it a shot. The restaurant is attached to a hotel and sits right next to the bar (also... the bartender was cute, too bad I don't drink). It's seat-yourself, and it took about five minutes for the waitress to notice me and bring over a menu and water. That said, she was incredibly attentive, especially considering she was the only one serving about five tables. I ordered the chicken wings from the appetizer menu, and wow, they were really good. Sweet, tangy, and perfectly crispy, almost like they were air-fried. The sauce complemented the wings well, and despite the name, they weren't spicy at all. I'm very sensitive to spice, so if you're worried, don't be, it's totally manageable. It came with carrots and celery. I sat by the window and enjoyed watching the rain fall while people and cars passed by. If you don't mind a little people-watching while you eat, it's a great spot. Otherwise, they have booths available, away from the window. The ambiance was cozy, the prices were reasonable, and overall it was a really pleasant experience. Stayed at this hotel & on my last night in Seattle just wanted to be close. Started with a pale ale and then a Pilsner beer, both of which were local brews. All their draft beers were all local and have a great selection of bottles. Ordered the NY Strip which comes with grilled asparagus & garlic mash potatoes. The chimichurri over the steak had good flavor & the steak was cooked perfectly medium. Had good conversations with the bar tender and he provided great service & was knowledgeable of the area and brew houses in the area. The food was very good and was prepared with quickness. I sat at the bar which had 3 huge TVs & the area was super nice & organized. On your first or last day in town I highly recommend bc the menu is simple in a highly refined space. read more

Kai is a bomb ass bartender. She made me some of the best drinks I've had and the service she provided was stellar. She works Friday ,Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights 4 to 9pm. Quesadilla?) but the bartender steered me away saying everything was a large portion. OMG he was so right. The tacos were huge and filled me up. I didn't even finish them. . The hotel had actually comped a dish, so I decided to give this place another shot after it wasn't so awesome the previous day. Today, they decided to make sure I was really inclined to give a bad review. I had gotten just under half way through the omelette and decided to get some coffee, so I left my phone and mask at the table as I went over to the drink bar. To my surprise, I come back to a busser with a completely dumbfounded look and a nearly empty table. How this man could think "hey there's an abandoned table with an untouched plate of yogurt, half eaten omelette, cell phone, and mask" is beyond me. I then asked for my check so I could pay for the a la carte items I got (since apparently I wasn't going to get to finish my breakfast), and not only did the server take his sweet time getting to me to run my card, but after running my card, he decided to carry on a lengthy conversation with someone in the adjacent bar. Food is not good. Options are limited. Toasters barely work. Staff is clueless. Do yourself a favor and PASS. read more

Just super-basic options of toast-yourself bagels bread slices, cereal, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, scrambled egg whites, and sausage scrambled. Their "breakfast potatoes" were just soggy fries. Coffee, Orange juice, and apple juice were the beverage options. The room was clean and the service was pretty low-touch. I don't think it was worth the price. Utterly forgettable. What I expect from a hotel bar, not the "Craft" brand. Had a decent draft beer and the "Craft Burger" with bacon and cheese. Burger appeared to be pre-formed (sharp edges, perfectly flat), maybe it was just done in house with a mold, I don't know. Well seasoned, good bun. I had a thick lettuce stalk and pale, mealy tomato, so the veg was a let down. Fries were fine/good. Bar tender was nice, though his technique on some of the mix drinks I saw him make was questionable (split pour from the shaker rather than straining, leaving ice chips on a martini; doing dashes of something from a plastic squeeze bottle; pouring from bottle with no spout directly into mixing glas rather than measured or time pour). I stopped here to grab a fork and you would've thought I was asking the bartender Frankie for a kidney. After waiting at the bar for 4min without acknowledgement while he made drinks I said hello since he was standing in front of me and asked him for a a fork. When he didn't respond I clarified just a plastic fork and he said he'd be right with me. He then proceeded to deliver all the drinks, come back, hand me the cutlery and when I thanked him didn't say anything in response. Terrible service... the place was next to dead and the 2 bartenders were still bad. No menus after 15 minutes so we get up and find them ourselves. Bartender one brings our 2 plates out, gives me my food and take my husband's food to the end of the bar without saying anything turns around and says "free food". After about 5 minutes of no food, I ask where our other plate of food was. The second bartender, who witnessed the whole thing, acts surprised and grabs the food from the end of the counter, gives it to us and says nothing. No apology, no explanation. We decided to go down to listen to there live and have a few drinks. Nice little place and this is were we have breakfast at also in the mornings . Live band was fine. Restaurant had a decent menu and a small basic dessert menu. Staff were friendly. Enjoyed the service of bar staff Joni and Alex . Our food was ok. Just very basic nothing to it. Linked to the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel. Upon check-in, I heard live music coming from Craft. Getting rid of my travel items in my room, I returned to the bar. A single performing gal was playing guitar. Great musician! Thursday night football was on TV so I sat at the bar. Bartender was a friendly gal. I ordered a local IPA on tap. Bartender said Happy Hour lasted 30 more minutes. I ordered chips and cheese sauce, on the bartenders recommendation. The chips were homemade potato chips, tasted great as was the cheese sauce. I also had their chicken wings. Again, very tasty. After a couple more beers, I returned to my room. The Garden Grille and Bar was a great spot after a long commute. We traveled in and arrived during their happy hour which is always a bonus. Alexandra the bartender greeted us as we entered the bar and provided us an overview of their happy hour and offered suggestions on local beer they have on tap. They have 6 Beers on tap and all are local with the exception of one. A large selection of liquor makes this a top notch hotel bar. We tried two of the items off the happy hour menu and they both were fantastic. I'd highly recommend getting the quesadilla. Most bars/restaurants inside of hotels are over priced and leave a lot to be desired. If we hadn't just checked into our room I wouldn't have known I was at a hotel. Yes, this is pretty much your typical hotel bar and restaurant. The patrons at the bar looked quite happy. It was late and I needed dinner before getting settled into my room so I walked in hopeful. There wasn't much on the menu that I could eat - lots of burgers and fries, etc. and I wanted healthy. So I asked if I could have the grilled chicken sandwich without the bun and with a salad instead of fries. The chef came out to talk to me and said he'd take care of me. Very disappointing! I was excited to eat here during our trip but didn't even get a chance to try the food or drinks. Once we walked in we waited as the sign said "wait to be seated" for about 5 minutes before the cooked walked out and sat us and told us the bartender would be helping us. We sat at our table for 15 minutes without any acknowledgement from the bartender/server. He never came by to offer water or anything. The restaurant is as clearly understaffed and the bartender seemed overwhelmed and completely put out. After the long wait we decided to leave and try somewhere else. I travel a lot. For me, hotel food is a daily occurrence, unfortunately. I rarely have the luxury of finding the time to dine out. That said, I have a background in restaurants so my critique of this hotels kitchen is credible. The service here is always friendly. Some times a bit slow, but they make up for it in sincerity. It's the food though. Everything in their kitchen is fresh made from scratch. Last week I enjoyed the best white bean and chicken Chile I think I've ever had. January 10, 2020 Day 2, 1st breakfast and probably the last. 3 waiters no manager. I was told to seat myself at any table. I my thought my table was clean but could still see coffee rings on the table from previous customer. Attention detail already lacking. No waiter greeted or asked if I needed anything. Went to the breakfast buffet and this is where a Breakfast manager is critical. The scrambled egg chafing dish, potato and bacon and sausage chafing dishes all needed attention and stirring, below temperature. Which meant top layers for guests are cold. Hidden gem in a hotel that offers live music, good drinks and very yummy food. They have a very rustic and homey happy hour menu that was very well done. They have tons of variety too. The food takes a little longer but comes out flavorful and well seasoned. The staff is amazing. Our waitress took care of us, checked up on us and even gave my friend a cup of soda water with bitters in a to go cup to help with her upset stomach. Go, it's a mighty good time. read more

I have to say that I usually do not have an issue when I go out to eat, if the service is good and the wait staff is courteous I have no problem recommending an establishment to others but my experience was substandard at best and it seems that the folks at this particular location when a customer has a bad experience it is written off. My girlfriend, her daughter and I went to grab some dinner while staying in the hotel, when we got downstairs to the craft bar+ kitchen there was just a few other customers dining so we were seated and waited for our order to be taken which took a while. Once our order was taken it took a while for our food to come. We ordered two drinks which also took a while to be brought to our table and when they arrived they tasted very watered down like the ice had been sitting in them for quite some time. So we had to explain to the waitress that we could taste no alcohol and they tasted old, not fresh at all and she said we can add more alcohol to them but charge us, which was very shocking considering she did not offer to remake them. When the drinks returned they still did not taste right at all and when my girlfriend mentioned this to the waitress she said sorry but we added more alcohol, so my girlfriend asked to speak with the manager and the waitress left to go get her but the manager or the young lady who identified herself as the manager did not come over initially she just told the waitress to comp us for the drink. Finally, our food arrived to the table which was also an issue. My girlfriend ordered the penne pasta with Alfredo which looked very watery. She took a bite and was not happy with it at all and stated that it tasted like it came out of a can and did not taste like Alfredo at all, her daughter tasted it and looked at her mother and all she could say was "yuck this is not good at all mom" so she again called the waitress over and expressed her dislike and told the waitress that she did not like the food and was not going to be able to eat it and the waitress said she was not going to comp the meal and my girlfriend said she was not going to pay for something that she cannot eat and the waitress said that she was sorry but there was nothing that she could do, my girlfriend again asked to see the manager and that never happened because the young lady who said she was the manager could not be bothered to come over to see what the issue was so my girlfriend got up and brought the plate and drink over to the manager and put it down in front of her and expressed her unhappiness with the food and the manager wrote her off as someone just trying to get free food and told her we are not able to do anything about this and we are charging you for the meal. This upset my girlfriend and when she went to tell them she is not going to pay for the meal because she is not going to pay for a plate that she did not like and did not eat she basically chased us to the elevator when she found out the waitress did not run the card and told her that she has to pay cause she did not so my girlfriend said she will pay for the items we ate and drank but that would be all and while she was there letting her know that she will only pay for those items the girl behind the bar stated that the drinks were not going to taste like all alcohol at which time I said we did not expect that but when we pay 13 dollars for a drink you want to taste the ingredients and the whole time the bar tender was smirking at my girlfriend mocking her. I stayed behind after my girlfriend went upstairs to explain that we also ordered food for breakfast and that too was not good and took a very long time to get almost making us late for our things we need to get done. we were basically written off and told that they need to review the tapes. This has by far been the worst experience I have had with this hotel and if this is how things are done and how employees are allowed to act and misrepresent themselves I will be sure to tell all my friends to stay away and beware. The crazy thing is we were not the only ones that were not happy with the service that night, the folks in the booth next to us were so disgusted with their service they got up and left. I really hope the restaurant and hotel management and ownership takes a long hard look at this review and makes adjustments whether that is extensive additional training or replacing that staff all together. A customer especially one that pays good money should not have to put up with any of this. This is so unacceptable and a customer should not be penalized for being upset when they do not get quality service or food for the hard earned money they spent. Nor should they be mocked or labeled as someone trying to get out of paying for a meal that was not good at all. If the young lady who identified herself as a manager is indeed one she needs to be retrained because a managet does not avoid a complaint or display an unprofessional attitude with customers. read more

Came here on re-opening weekend to check it out. We have visited the Garden Grille and Bar a few times and always had a good experience. Craft is definitely an upgrade to what the hilton food was before. We had the flat iron (amazing), crab and shrimp melt, chowder and a caesar salad. All the food was great, caesar salad was a weird presentation but still tasted good. For drinks we had a basil martini, coconut martini and a couple glasses of wine. Definitely recommend both cocktails! Had good service from the bartenders, everyone around us seemed to be enjoying themselves. We will be back for sure to try more of the new dishes on the menu. I recently dined here while on a business trip to Seattle. The Garden Bar and Grille is a hidden gem inside the Hilton Garden Inn where I stayed. Too tired on my business trip to venture outside the hotel, I figured I would be stuck eating sub par hotel restaurant food. It was certainly not the case here. I did Happy hour 1 night, then ordered dinner the other 2 nights. The food was amazing and 5 star worthy. I highly recommend the Cobb salad and Ribs. Nadine H. was my server each night and she was amazing. She not only provided great service but took a couple extra minutes to get to know me. I wanted to do a to go order to take up to my room. Although room service is available, I wanted to get out and stretch a bit. Nadine would not let me carry my tray up but brought it all the way up to my room for me. She went the extra mile on every occasion I ordered to go. Nadine gets customer service and has a genuine ability to connect with customers. I am in a manager in a high end customer service business. I'm always one to notice someone who goes the extra mile. Give Nadine a raise and treasure her, good folks are hatd to find and she's a great representation of your restaurant. I found this treasure of a restaraunt 2 weeks ago. Since that time I've been back twice for lunch and have brought friends both times. The quality of the food and taste are incredible. Try the burger, the shrimp & crab melt or flat pizza breads. My friends loved the restaurant too! It's quiet, has quick and friendly service and the food doesn't disappoint.
