The pearls are incomparable to other places too! There is a reason why there's a long line at this business, not just here but also all the Hey Teas in NYC. Waited about 15-20 mins for our order and found out they got our order wrong. I ordered green tea with matcha cloud hot but they gave me an iced one. The drink was okay with good tea flavor, but it didn't stand out personally. Biggest downside was the pick up area is super crowded and they don't have an organized way for pick up orders. You kind of have to crowd up to the counter and try to spot your drink or listen for the number as it's ready. They had a bunch of drinks ready to be picked up but the system wasn't working because you don't know when your drink is ready if you wait outside. My group was surprised to find out the drinks at Hey Tea taste amazing! We were intimidated by the line out the door and didn't plan to order anything, however, we stuck it out and were glad we did. We tried some popular items like the Mango Grapefruit Boom, Coconut Mango Boom, and their Matcha Zen and Matcha Jasmine Tea. All were solid choices and their matcha is good quality too. To help with order pick ups, they call out your number on the receipt and have a screen in the store, but I felt I respond more to the number being called out. Absolutely terrible experience at this location. My gf and I drove to this location which was half an hour, waited over 20 minutes in the regular line while customers in front of us argued about their orders. When we finally got to the front, one of the associates waved us off and told us to go back in line to use the self-service kiosk something that should've been communicated to all of us in line much earlier. We weren't about to wait another 15-20 minutes just to place an order and then wait another 25-30 minutes for the drinks to be made based on the 65+ pending drinks on their screen. That's over an hour for a tea shop visit which is completely unacceptable. Customer service here is disorganized and dismissive. They cannot handle normal situations with ordered. The LA location was far more professional and efficient. Heytea Irvine seriously needs to fix their line management system and show some respect to customers who have already waited patiently. Ima keep it a buck... I waited 45 min but omggg this drink was so goodddd, almost forgot about that wait for a min haha. This was my first time coming here, and for obvious reasons I came because of the hype this place was getting, and it definitely exceeded my expectations. I don't mean to compare places, but the only way I could describe the taste of this drink would be to Airoma's Ube Matcha (which is 10/10). I will say the only downside of this place was the wait, it was super packed and I know that, that isn't necessarily their problem.. but I do feel like there could be a more organized system since there were so many online orders that they had put more focus on? We ordered the Mango Grapefruit Boom (Regular size with 0 calories of sweetener) and Mulberry Strawberry Boom (Large size with regular sweetness). Starting with the Mango Grapefruit Boom, the sweetness was perfect with the 0-calorie sweetener, there're some sago and jelly at the bottom which gives a nice chew. I can't taste the grapefruit but the pulps do give a nice pop as you drink. The Mulberry Strawberry Boom is okay, it tastes a bit like grape popsicles. Overall, both taste good but they're just like regular fruit juice, nothing really special. Went around 11:15am for the buy one get one free drink deal. Online advertisements didn't specify that the deal only applied to the dark chocolate tiramisu drink. On top of that they said they can't substitute the milk with non-dairy option basically eliminating it as an option....ordered a brown sugar milk boba with oat milk.
