I really enjoy this place! I found this place when I forgot my lunch at home. Super close to work, so I tried it out. I got the beef rice box. It came with a lot of food! The beef was super tender and flavorful. The rice was great, I absolutely loved all the veggies. I also got the oolong ice tea, and since I am quite the teahead snob, did not expect much. We found this place because we were getting our drivers licenses, and were amazed at the food. My husband got the chicken confit rice bowl (the best part being the garlic rice) and I got the pork belly bahn mi. Both were delicious as were the sides of grilled vegetables and pickled vegetables that came with the chicken bowl. We also got a side of tater tots that were amazing too. I love this place. This is not your typical Vietnamese restaurant. The dishes are slightly upscale but the flavors are very authentic. I've had the tumeric fish, pork belly bao, lemongrass beef, Duck confit banh mi and the pork skewers(nem nuong) and they were all fantastic. They even allow you to replace the rice in the rice plates with excellent seasoned veggies consisting of brussel sprouts, broccoli, beats, and squash. Their pho is also very good when they offer it. Tastes more homemade than the typical MSG filled pho at most restaurants. read more

I don't think this place has any AC.. I came here on a Thursday afternoon for lunch with a group of 9, nobody else was in the restaurant at the time. We ordered our food and each item we ordered came out one by one. Everyone in my group received all of their food except for the people that ordered the pork belly baos. By the time everyone finished the rest of their food, the pork belly buns still did not arrive. The cashier/waitress came over to tell us they had to go get more pork belly so it'd be a while longer?? We waited 30 minutes in the hot and stuffy restaurant until we got them. Everyone in my party really enjoyed their food. The pho broth was very flavorful! I'm eager to go back and try the chicken confit rice box. The pickled and roasted veggies (a mix) that come with the rice box are really good. The thai tea was good and strong, not too sweet which is appreciated. I will definitely go back, and recommend it. I eat Vietnamese all the time with my girlfriends' family and if its good enough for her to go to twice in 3 days then it's absolutely spectacular. The duck confit banh mi is fantastic, and the Vietnamese coffee is very very thick and mostly condensed milk, so if you're sensitive to dairy you should avoid it, but if you're not then you should absolutely try it if you want authentic Vietnamese coffee. read more

Prefacing this review by telling you that I am Vietnamese so I am always up to try a new Vietnamese restaurant in any area. The best way to describe the concept of this restaurant is: Americanized Vietnamese food without sacrificing authentic flavors. This place is family owned. The family is from Central Vietnam and you can really tell by the way they cook. Everything is so fresh, healthy, and delicious. Their roasted veggies that come on the side of their rice dishes are to die for. They definitely take traditional plates and add a twist to it! Every meal here comes with a complimentary home made yogurt. This was a blast from the past from my childhood. The yogurt served exactly like how they sell it in Vietnam. Really good Vietnamese food - a great mix between authentic flavors with some fusion aspect. We got the Lemongrass Beef Banh Mi and Tumeric Fish Rice Box. The banh mi was good, but a bit on the pricey side for what it was. But the rice box was excellent. Fish was tender and flavorful, especially the leek and garlic rice it was served with. I would give this place 10 stars if I could! It's really unassuming from the outside and I would recommend parking in the back because Lamar is no joke. The pho is a miraculous and full of flavor so there is no need for the hoisin sauce or even the siracha. The basil, sprouts and lime was fresh and all the extras I needed to complete this marvelous soup. My hubs got the lemongrass beef and it was so good and large for the price we paid. A warning if your sensitive to heat the lemongrass beef has a kick and it also came with a bunch of roasted veggies that tasted amazing and there was fresh pickles too. My kids got the chicken Bao and it was also really good. I really liked that they had Maine soda but I am particularly fond of their Vietnamese coffee. We got the special, Rib rice box. It was really good quality food especially for $10. Ribs were beautifully cooked and well seasoned. They just came right off the bones as they should. My husband and I enjoyed the food at Heo Eatery this evening. The staff was super friendly, and the food arrived fast and fresh to the table. For him - a rice plate special for the day with ribs and for me, the tumeric fish. Plenty of food, and we took leftovers home. Beautiful roasted and pickled vegetables flanked the meat/fish and rice with leeks. A nice touch - frozen yogurt in little bags was served at the end of the meal. The pork belly bao was cooked just right, it was very tender. I added a bit more hoisin than what was already on it. It's the normal size of a bao that you'd find elsewhere. The turmeric fish rice box was enough for 1.5 or 2 meals. Generous portion each of fish, garlic rice, roasted veggies, and fresh pickled veggies. The fish had a nice kick to it, very flavorful, balanced well with the rice. Pickled veggies were fresh and refreshing, a good palette cleanser. I liked that it was not overly vinegar-y. Roasted veggies could use one less dash of salt and maybe 3 minutes less being cooked, but otherwise it was good. It had carrots, broccoli, zucchini, and beets. I don't really care for beets but it worked well in this dish. The golden milk tea was ok, not terribly sweet, which I liked. It's not as yellow as the others I've seen. All of that came out to about $18. The only other patrons was a couple that wasn't eating so my food came out in about 5 minutes.
