They have a large selection of other items besides pho too. The food doesn't come out as quickly as some other pho spots but it's not a bad wait. Best rice plate I've ever had! I've been eating it for over 10 years and the quality has remained the same. The meat is tender and flavorful, the rice is broken like how it's traditionally done (quite rare to find), and it even comes with a flavorful soup on the side. Beware that they may give less meat when you order takeout. I would definitely recommend the rice plates over the pho, unless you're really craving it. I think there's better pho spots in town nowadays, but this rice plate is the real deal. I seriously haven't found anything better, even after living in SF for a few years. Another plus being the dishes are all both decently sized and priced. And I just love how there are so many different pho options so it's easy to find the perfect combination of meats for each person. This place is cleaner than Saigon pho by MT market. However, I was not impressed with food taste. They charge for fresh squeezed lemonade $3.50. Which ended up being warm sweet water with some squeezed lime. Very strange drink. Chicken dish was tasty, but could be more chicken on top, since chicken slices were super thin. It comes with PORK broth, I had to ask to substitute with chicken broth. Also menu says with egg rolls. I wanted to clarify with 2, and server said only one pork egg roll. Again, you can ask for veggie one. Pho #3 was just ok. Not much taste to it. Maybe it's a good thing, less MSG. The most irritating thing was that One couple was on the speaker with a friend the entire time, everyone had to hear that stupid conversation and it was very annoying. Pho Dan will never get old! I had a very very busy weekend and the place I knew could bring me back to life once I landed back in Austin was Pho Dan. Typically in the summer, I opt for a vermicelli bowl but considering the weekend activities I knew I needed a HOT bowl of pho. It was everything I wanted and needed. I am particularly a big fan of the tofu pho, it also has broccoli and carrots. I have had tofu pho at a few other places and I can confidently say they do not compare to Pho Dan. I'm not a vegan/vegetarian I just prefer it. I have had the beef pho in the past and it is just as delicious. I always pair my order with beef spring rolls and a cafe su da (Vietnamese cold coffee). All must have and all delish. Not many places serve beef spring rolls, I promise if you try them you won't be disappointed. I ended up ordering the fried egg rolls which are cheaper than other Vietnamese restaurants in the area (3.95) and a large beef pho with only round eye steak (couldn't do the XL... maybe another time when I'm starving). The rice noodles, beef soup and lean brisket was so mouth watering flavorful. That's the #1 on the menu. She also brought home the 40A. Cơm Bò Nướng Chà Giò Steamed rice with charbroiled beef and egg rolls. The succulent beef sits on a bed of perfectly steamed rice, a crispy egg roll filled with shredded pork and vegetables, along with a fresh side of sliced tomatoes and cucumbers. Mmmmmmm!!! This was about a week ago. We decided to go the day before leaving for Nashville. We arrived and were about to park right in front of the entrance. We decided to move down further and ended up sitting at a table right by the large glass windows where we parked. This would not have been a big deal, but an elderly couple ended up being targeted after they left the bank and came to the restaurant for lunch. They smashed and grabbed a bag the couple left in their car with money they had just withdrawn. I am licensed to carry so we went to asses the situation and see if they were still in the area. Fortunately they had a camera right in front and the police have a lead. Let this be a reminder not to leave valuables in your car even if you're just going to be in a restaurant for a short period of time. Now, how was our lunch? Well we ordered exactly what Robynn S brought home that day and it was just as delicious as last time! I look forward to going back and trying more of their menu. We already told the gentlemen that we needed a few minutes and it felt like he was just hawking us for no reason. I ordered a pho dac biet and immediately I could tell from the looks that the broth was extremely light. I tasted it and it was very salt and fish sauce forward only. It was lacking beef flavor and honestly I wouldn't even call it pho broth. It was more of a watered down quick version that you would eat if you were sick. I was very disappointed in the flavor and taste of the broth. The tripe they give you in the pho dac biet as well is so thin and it might as well not even be in there.
